The president might have taped hiimself committig a crime..

Image result for trump com imagesBy the time this mess with trump is over, I have a feeling that republicans will be wishing that Hillary had won the election.

Check out the latest from our tweeter in chief:

"Washington (CNN)Just 72 hours after his shocking decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to warn Comey not to share the contents of their private conversations.

"James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!," Trump tweeted at 8:26 a.m. ET, the final missive of an active morning for the president that included four other tweets in which he, among other things, said that it was unreasonable to expect his staff to be completely accurate and floated the idea of eliminating the daily press briefing altogether."

My goodness, Donald! First you fire the man and then you threaten him on twitter? Be careful hat you wish for there big guy. Word is that Comey is hoping that the conversation was taped as well.

A loyalty oath? Come on Donald, you are not the leader of a Third World country, and as much as it might pain you to admit it, you are not a dictator.

As someone wrote today (see link above) the president is actually telling someone else that they must be careful, because he (trump) might have recorded himself obstructing justice.

When I heard that exchange today between Jeff Mason, White House reporter, and Sean Spicer speaking from the podium in the briefing room for the President of the United States, it took my breath away,” Wallace said.
Wallace continued:
“That was what in Watergate they called a non-denial denial. He was asked specifically, is there a recording device in the Oval Office of the President of the United States? He said, ‘I have nothing for you on that.’ He could have said no. He could have said yes. He said I have nothing for you on that. That is a non-denial denial. Look, it may just be that the President is trolling the press corps and saying work yourself into a frenzy about this and turns out it nothing. But why would he do that? Why would he want to decrease the credibility which is already in question of this White House and comments made from that podium? It seems to me that you’re playing a very dangerous game with the currency of the credibility of the President of the United States.”
Wallace went on to blast President Donald Trump for the conflicting statements offered by him and his staff on the Comey firing.

“Every step he’s taken this week has cut into the credibility of this White House, the trust of the people inside the White House, and clearly I think the trust that the American people pay to this President and to his White House staff.” [Source]

That Wallace the article is talking about is Chris Wallace. As in FOX VIEWS, Chris Wallace.

Now if FOX is starting to turn on you Mr. President, you might want to start planning that farewell speech. And remember,  the "I am not a crook " line has already been taken

I'll just include my last comment from your previous blog post, because it applies to this one:

Things are getting even more farcical in Washington.

Trump: That @#^&$^#^ Comey better hope there are no tapes of our conversation!!

Comey: Go ahead. Play your damn tapes.

Congress: Ahem. Actually, we'd like to hear those tapes.

Trump: Who said anything about tapes? I don't know tapes. I've never met a tape. What's a tape?

Spicer: *Hides in a bush*

Whatever other conclusions we may draw from Trump's no-good-very-bad week, I think we can put paid to the always-ridiculous notion that Trump is some kind of master manipulator super-genius who has been playing multi-dimensional chess to defeat the "globalist American establishment" (an actual meme among Trumpkin pinheads).

It's not that Trump is some kind of amazing, brilliant wizard. It's that, when it comes to politics, an awful lot of American voters are totally apathetic and disengaged and, frankly, dumber than a bag of hammers. (And the media are too greedy and cowardly to do their damn jobs and help voters make sense of things.) It might not be polite to point this out, but it is nonetheless true.

But this week really put paid to the myth of Genius Trump. I have no idea whether collusion between Russians and the Trump campaign to rig the election really happened, but if it didn't, the big orange clown sure made it look like that's definitely what happened! He could not have made himself look guiltier if he'd run around holding a machete, covered in blood, yelling, "I did it, I did it, God help me I did it!" No defense attorney on earth could save this fool from himself.

Obstruction of Justice
It has its own chapter in the US Code: 18 USC 73.

The relevant matter may be under section 1505:

...Whoever corruptly, or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication influences, obstructs, or impedes or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper administration of the law under which any pending proceeding is being had before any department or agency of the United States, or the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry under which any inquiry or investigation is being had by either House, or any committee of either House or any joint committee of the Congress—

Shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both.

h/t: Paul Wartenberg

I think he may be thinking that less credibility expands his slimy options. He may not be remembering that one of those options is prison. Sure, Pence will pull a Ford and pardon him, if we don't manage to get him at the same time.
I'd say that the lot of them are one despicable, felonious, joke if it weren't for the awful, awful, stupid, stupid things they're trying to do.
I had a conversation with a guy I know who was a big supporter of then candidate four-year-old, who has been a drug dealer for thirty years, and I asked him what he thought of him now that Sessions has called for maximum sentencing for drug offenders again, and all he could do was sputter and say "Fuck you." Telling guys like him that you told them this would happen doesn't really register, for some reason. I wonder if it will the next time he gets popped and they throw him away for life because he has priors?
Probably won't. Just like the swarm of MAGAts who will sing his praises with their preventable, dying, breath, after he takes their health insurance from them and they can't get their diabetes treated so their extremities start falling off one by one.
Whatever they're getting out of this must really be something, since they're willing to play with their own death and ruin over it.
Or maybe they're just stupid and don't believe it will happen to them. For my friend, that was a bad call, because it just did.
I did tell him so, or tried to.

@ Doug

See, these are the people I truly find most baffling. Trump based his entire campaign on the idea that he was going to round up a bunch of "bad guys" and punish them and then America would be all unicorns and rainbows. He pushed this dumb narrative for months and months. And this isn't like the privacy-rights giveaway to Internet service providers that Republicans pulled, but never campaigned on because nobody (other than rich telecom shareholders) actually wants it; none of Trump's hatemongering was a secret.

So if you're one of the very "bad guys" he was targeting, what the hell would possess you to vote for him? There was a Trump-voting woman profiled in the paper who was shocked because her (other-than-immigration) law-abiding husband was deported by Trump.

The candidate campaigned on deporting Mexican illegal immigrants, and her husband is a Mexican illegal immigrant. How did it not dawn on her that this might cause her a problem? WTF?

I don't know about her, but my friend consumes a little too much Alex Jones with his intoxicating substances, leading to the nickname for Mr. Jones I've been using for a couple of years: Glenn Beck for drug addicts.

So watch for the results of the IG investigations from Justice and Defense, and whether president four-year-old tries to fire anyone running them before they're done.

Trump is orchestrating his own downfall. He doesn't want the job. He never did. Were it not for Putin forcing him, he wouldn't have run.

His is a tightrope act: Pleasing Putin while taking steps to effectuate his own impeachment.

How dare Drumpf forget Obama's tape machine and buggery devices. The 1st Baby needs an Ivanka blow up doll with a yooge penis to use as a pacifier.

Wonder how long, how much more damage wingnuts will allow Drumpf to do to our country before they finally get tired of the tantrums and put dirt bag Donnie to bed w/o supper?

Yep, he needs to get those sanctions lifted and that half a trillion oil deal through before he goes.

Wow 15, and here I though our resident genius James came up with that all by himself. Should have known he was just regurgitating right wing memes. It was probably created by a 15 year old. He likes stealing thoughts from teens.

Absolutely consumed with shock, Pilot: NOT!!

Twitter troll, indeed... I somewhat suspect when Pres. Trump tweeted former director Comey better be glad he does not have tapes that by placing "tapes" in quotes, the president also could have been trolling the media with the subsequent conversations linking the events of Watergate with Russiagate.

Definitely trolling the media because that's what a serious mature world leader does(eye roll).

"Definitely trolling the media because that's what a serious mature world leader does(eye roll)."

I think it's something worse than trolling. Here's the timeline:

*Trump claimed, in Comey's termination letter and in an interview with Lester Holt that Comey had told him, three times, that Trump personally was not under investigation.

*Comey let it be known, off the record to the press, that this was total crap and he'd told Trump no such thing. Trump is NOT in the clear as far as the investigators are concerned.

*Trump then starts blustering about "tapes" and I'm gonna get you Comey, nobody calls me a liar (okay, everybody does, but you'd better shut up now, or else).

Missouri asshole wingnuts just passed a law preventing cities from raising minimum wage(it is currently $10/hr) above $7.70/hour claiming it is too bard for businesses to figure different wages.

But...but...wingnuts are looking out for the little guys and Dems are the ones who drive wages down.

Yeah, Negatory PigPen. You wanna back off with them hogs above 5 miles?

I'd rather get poked in the eye with a sharp stick than publicly lust after my own daughter in public. I wouldn't want to look at myself in the mirror knowing that all I do is lie and knowing everyone else knows that, too.

Brigade Fifteen said...

Ugh. Not entirely on topic, but I just re-watched part of that Lester Holt interview, and all I can do is ask myself, does Trump ever, ever stop lying? Like, absolutely nothing that comes out of his mouth is truthful.

In this clip, he even claims that he achieved some kind of momentous election victory because, according to him, the Electoral College is biased against Republicans.

In fact, it's the opposite. The Electoral College boosts the voting power of residents of small states, and small states are, on average, whiter, more rural, and overwhelmingly dominated by Republicans. This ought to be obvious, because if there were no Electoral College and the US went by the popular vote to elect our presidents, we'd now be hearing boring news stories about the competent people running the Hillary Clinton administration, rather than the insane antics of President Clownshoes and his inept minions. The majority of America was anti-Trump -- even after all the cheating and skullduggery designed to defame Hillary Clinton during the election and stop her supporters from voting -- and yet we're stuck with him (for now, at least) as president.

The Electoral College Is Great for Whiter States, Lousy for Cities

Also, not for nothing, but Trump's victory was one of the weakest Electoral College performances of all time. He squeaked across the finish line. A landslide, it definitely wasn't.

Trump’s Electoral College Victory Ranks 46th in 58 Elections

The Budget Committee is trying to force the entire conference and committees of jurisdiction to focus on ways to bring down this deficit,” said senior Budget panel member Rep. Tom Cole. Republicans have long sought to tackle the nearly $20 trillion debt, but Trump has tied their hands by ruling out cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

Wingnuts have long sought to tackle the nearly 20 trillion debt.
Yeah, right. They caused the 20 trillion dollar debt because they refuse to pay for their spending and expect to cut welfare for the poor and veterans to make it up. What a bunch of bald faced liars.
