Mother Jones, a l...Yes, Bill, that is what I said. Mother Jones, a liberal media outlet, is criticizing Obama (and Congress as well) for spending big money on nukes.

And this is a criticism of Obama from the article:

"In 2010, the Obama administration announced that it would not make any nuclear weapons with new capabilities. The White House and Pentagon insist that the B61-12 won't violate that pledge."

How much more criticism do you expect to see in a story that is only five paragraphs long? It's pretty evident from the gist of the article that the writer thinks this is a piss-poor use of taxpayer money, whatever Obama may have pledged. Do you expect them to call him an evil dictator, lol? Mother Jones isn't Fox News.

Meanwhile, of course you won't see mainstream media complain about weapons costs.

Didn't you just write MotherJones was the media? And their quote was most of the complaints were about the cost?
"I'm pretty sure that is exactly what is happening in that article!"

Yes, and Mother Jones is in no way mainstream media. They are explicitly on the left.

Try CNN as an actual mainstream outlet. You will rarely find them criticizing the military in any way. Mostly, they will have endless "celebrating our heroes" stories. Not that there's anything wrong with celebrating veterans, but the military is far from perfect and does deserve criticism.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-55215422744023536172015-08-30T15:11:18.984-04:002015-08-30T15:11:18.984-04:00Bill @10:59 is the leader so far for the caption c...Bill @10:59 is the leader so far for the caption contest.

Bill@1:23, not so much for the smart political comment contest.
field negrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15411743587725023134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-9827420976178567802015-08-30T14:28:40.138-04:002015-08-30T14:28:40.138-04:00Anonymous said...

Who knew? It covers a lot of the same stuff we already mentioned:

*Dogs pick up on their owners' reactions and if an owner regards black people as a threat, so may the dog.

*If a black owner abuses his dog, it may hate all black people forever. (Also applies to any other race of owner, obviously.)

*Black people are less likely to own dogs and therefore more likely to act uncomfortable around them -- which will then induce the dogs to behave more aggressively.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/high_concept/2003/02/can_a_dog_be_racist.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-45492972059001526772015-08-30T02:08:20.009-04:002015-08-30T02:08:20.009-04:00"I suppose you could say that a dog owned by ..."I suppose you could say that a dog owned by a white person picks up on their “owner's” inherent racism or fear or something, and reacts to a black person based upon what the dog’s perceives as their owner’s agitation."

In the case of my professor's dog's racism and hatred for hats, I am thinking it was probably a result of the dog's prior owner (before the professor) being a black man who regularly wore hats and habitually abused the dog. But that's just a wild-ass guess. No way to really know.

"I can’t say I know much about other ethnicities and dogs, but I can tell you white people are a lot more comfortable around them. Whether that is genetic… hell I don’t know. Seems like everything is genetic around here. Russians are probably genetically selected to play chess or something.

I think this is an economic thing, honestly. I think white people are more comfortable around dogs only because they are more likely to own dogs or to have grown up with them. Think about it: White people are statistically wealthier and more likely to have a home large enough to be suitable for a dog. A lot of black folks live in rented apartments too small for a dog or in which dogs are forbidden by their landlords (to prevent property damage hassles).

White people aren't born liking dogs and black people born not liking them.

I will admit, however, that some American white people have taken their love for canines to preposterous extremes. If you find yourself dressing your dog up in outfits and taking it for "spa days," you have officially gone too far.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-51931704226031536772015-08-30T01:46:34.225-04:002015-08-30T01:46:34.225-04:00Chief Windbreaker said...
