One of the names, Aliyah, is jewish. That was the name of three illegal immigrations to Palestine during the British Mandate. Malik is Arabic for king. Tyrone is Irish in its culture, taking its name from one of the most radical republican county's in Ireland. Demetrius is the romam version of a slavic name that's popular in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, etc. I can believe that people take this stuff seriously.AbuAmirahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10210095681535943356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-28435182114206700622012-06-13T21:17:10.812-04:002012-06-13T21:17:10.812-04:00Anony: "No one normal would ever name kids cr...Anony: "No one normal would ever name kids crazy names [Trig and Piper] other than totally rich stars who live through making themselves unique and promoting"

That was Sarah Palin, the white republican Gov who wanted to become VPOTUS. I liked to keep my staff happy:)

The man came with his girlfriend. Good credentials. All the licensing and continued ed up to date.

So part of the interview I had them write up a short paragraph on why they enjoyed their profession, just to see their writing and expressive skills.

He looked at me and said "oh,is it all right if I let my girlfriend write it up for me, because I don't like to write very much okay?"

His friend and I shot a look at each other, and we both knew it was a no go.

So for all the paper credentials and good looks there are things that have to be seen in person regardless of the name.

A name means nothing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-51410655894444058002012-06-13T19:44:15.536-04:002012-06-13T19:44:15.536-04:00field negro said...

If blacks didn't expect such special treatment and did expect to have to earn promotions and put in their time, employers could take more chances. Now they have to be careful and pick the token sleepers carefully. But when one digs into the question of whether black voters should have the president’s back, I think that a more relevant question should be “Has President Obama had our back?”

As I listened to the new radio ad asking African Americans to show up to the polls for President Obama, I couldn’t help but laugh all night in my sleep. The ad was clearly designed by someone who wanted very badly to find ways to convince non-thinking African Americans to support the president just because he’s cool, black and that he’s “got your back.” Even the website that the ad sends you to, Gottavote.org, is laced with the kind of broken English reserved for products of an inferior educational system.

I was admittedly disappointed with the ad, in large part because I would bet the last batch of watermelon and chitlins that there will not be similar ads distributed to any other constituency. I am not sure if President Obama heard the ad before it was released, and it’s possible that Michelle Obama is the only person in the White House who would understand why educated black people might be annoyed by its contents (apparently, going to college makes you “bougie” these days). I sincerely doubt that Mr. and Mrs. Obama’s black friends from Harvard and Yale would find the ad compelling or acceptable.

http://newsone.com/2020587/the-black-radio-obama-ad-should-be-called-chicken-and-beer/alicia bankshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15921804031029586951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23428832.post-62644040323912648982012-06-13T09:51:11.083-04:002012-06-13T09:51:11.083-04:00~
