"I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest... Instead, I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism."
I see that you are trying to make F. Scott Fitzgerald a liar huh "O" man? I guess you are trying to show that there are second acts in American lives. Wow, who would have known? Here you are on your very own red white and blue I am more patriotic than you tour, and trying to erase all those unpartiotic memories some of your fellow A-merry-cans might have of you.
I caught a part of your second act in Independence Missouri today, (What's up with matching your location with the theme of your speech? Unity, New Hampshire for your little love fest with Hilary, and now this. I guess you will be going to Hell Michigan when you give your speech on religion) and your speech was impressive. Honest to god I wanted to find my citizenship papers and cradle them over my heart.
But I need you to understand that this all might be a little too late. Hell even so called main stream media outlets are taking polls to see if you are really a patriot. Do you believe this shit? I mean here you are running for President of these divided states and folks are questioning your patriotism. But I gotta give it to you "O" man, you are certainly giving it the old "college try".
"It's worth considering the meaning of patriotism because the question of who is - or is not - a patriot all too often poisons our political debates, in ways that divide us rather than bringing us together.. "Throughout my life, I have always taken my deep and abiding love for this country as a given. It was how I was raised; it is what propelled me into public service; it is why I am running for President.."
Well yes "O" man, let's consider the meaning of patriotism for a minute. Webster's Dictionary defines it as "love or devotion of ones country." You certainly qualify there "O" man, the problem is, many of your fellow country men don't believe it. You see, to them, love of country means different things: It means wearing your flag pin at all times, it means not questioning your government when they do fucked up things, it means protecting our borders at all costs from people who look and act a little different than we are; people who we think will come here and try to change our way of life, it means that we take everything the good book says literally and keep god in our lives at all times. Because, after all, everybody knows that god is an A-merry-can. Are you for all of those things "O" man? If you are,you can kiss my vote goodbye.
Like writer Ross Belano said, I thought it was ironic that you gave your speech today from the Truman Library. I mean wasn't he [Truman] the President who ordered the bomb? Yes, I think he was. You know the bomb don't you "O" man? The one that was dropped that faithful August 6th morning that killed over 100,000 Japanese, including women and children? Those poor people. But hey, I don't think they were patriots, so serve them right.
"I remember listening to my grandmother telling stories about her work on a bomber assembly-line during World War II. I remember my grandfather handing me his dog tags from his time in Patton's Army, and understanding that his defense of this country marked one of his greatest sources of pride. That's my idea of America.."
Yeah it's mine too.
this man will do anything, say anything, where anything, and stand in front of anything to win...lol
ReplyDeletewow
I cannot stand him
I'm disappointed that he started wearing the flag pin, that will win him no points with the patriot games crowd and it will lose him points with everyone else.
ReplyDeletebtw Don't feel to sorry for the Japanese Field, they killed and starved to death thousands of our POWs and butchered millions in China and Asia.
"btw Don't feel to sorry for the Japanese Field, they killed and starved to death thousands of our POWs and butchered millions in China and Asia."
ReplyDeleteTrue, but their women and kids didn't.
I couldn't give a rat's ass about his lapel flag pin. Wear it or don't wear it. It doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteI'm much more worried about Obama's tacit support for the Telecom Immunity bill and gun control.
I know Democrats must run to the center if they want to get elected but don't run so far, Barack, that you wind up on the right.
1: wearing your flag pin at all times
ReplyDelete2: it means not questioning your government when they do fucked up things
3: it means protecting our borders at all costs from people who look and act a little different than we are people who we think will come here and try to change our way of life
4: it means that we take everything the good book says literally and keep god in our lives at all times.
Number three I disagree with you on. Why is legal immigration enforcement now wrong? I don't understand. Isn't this our country or am I being too patriotic for YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First it's the lapel pin Chris, then it's the telecom bill, the slow lurch to the right. Your right about the women and children Field but it didn't keep us from killin a million German civilians in bombing raids either
ReplyDeleteHe could have declared his patriotism without wearing that damned flag lapel pin, and it still wouldn't make any difference to the ReThugs whining.
ReplyDeleteThe "O" man better learn it's not what they call you; it's what you're going to answer to.
~
ReplyDeleteYou Nee-geh-tah-roes seem to be souring on Obama. I won't say that I told-eh-ded you so.
classical one, the atom bombings were meant to intimidate the Soviets.
`
"Number three I disagree with you on. Why is legal immigration enforcement now wrong? I don't understand. Isn't this our country or am I being too patriotic for YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
ReplyDeleteszchuanpork, I have a confession to make: I am a member of what Bill Orielly calls "the open borders" crowd :)
So when he stops in Intercourse, PA ... (I could not help myself)
ReplyDeleteI think it's the "protecting our borders at all cost," and focusing our enforcement on "people who look and act differently" that causes the problem.
NSangoma If you were Obama, what would you do? Not right now but in January. You have a happy congress etc.. and you are the President. Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool, Field. I'm usually sympathetic to libertarian ideals. I don't think we're politically evolved enough at this point in time for that to work unless we go with pure consumption tax, not likely.
ReplyDeleteWhat he also said:
ReplyDeleteHe called Martin Luther King Jr. and the Abu Ghraib whistleblower patriots for pointing out injustice, and he quoted Missourian Mark Twain to applause, saying: “Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.”
Obama also linked the today’s debate about patriotism to the “culture wars of the 1960s,” as he distanced himself from an attack made last fall by the liberal group MoveOn.org on Gen. David Petraeus.
"All too often our politics still seems trapped in these old, threadbare arguments -- a fact most evident during our recent debates about the war in Iraq, when those who opposed administration policy were tagged by some as unpatriotic, and a general providing his best counsel on how to move forward in Iraq was accused of betrayal,” he said. “Given the enormous challenges that lie before us, we can no longer afford these divisions. “
Field, cut him some slack... he is dealing with a whisper campaign that he is not really American, that he a manchurian candidate....
I know, any thinking person would know this is crap... But unfortunately, after reading some of the articles where they are quoting "middle america" who say they are confused because they read that it is not true in the papers, but their friends and family keep repeating the lie.... and they dont see their friends, neighbors and family as liars.
Unfairly, he has more to overcome on this than he should.
Sigh...it's sad that he has to do all this. But he does. If his name were Brad Harold Overton and he was raised in St.Louis, I'd be disappointed. But he's Barack Hussein Obama from Hawaii and Indonesia. People still believe he's a Muslim! One false move and he'll be swiftboated like nobody's business.
ReplyDeleteJust let him get in the Oval Office. If he starts wussing out there, that's a problem. But now, it's not real; it's just politics.
Sigh.
Jody, bah... I think he is just trying to stay in the news. He's gonna win.
ReplyDeleteCan we time warp to November 5th already! I am tired of this ish!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to WEARING, I'll never forget the day this man stops me (inside a Starbucks...agh, he seemed so "normal") and says, "YOU'RE WEARING THAT BECAUSE YOU HATE AMERICA!" That "THAT" was a head scarf...a piece of fabric covering my hair. After that, I felt sorry for that man and MR.OBAMA...fore that man told me, "SEE, I'M PATRIOTIC I LOVE AMERICA!" And he will be voting and Mr. OBAMA will have to convince him and the like minds...so I say MR. OBAMA put the pin on and get an Uncle Sam costume if you gotta. Meanwhile, perhaps you have to be crazy to be patriotic? Hmm...
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS AMERICA AND EVERYWHERE ELSE!!!
I'm with Chris. What will he say next?
ReplyDeleteOh, and if you're worried about Swift Boating have you guys seen The Black Republicans?
Obama has to do what he has to do... because of the political and social climate. I sympathize to some extent. He has no choice but to dance and perform on demand, like a wind-up toy. If he doesn't, his campaign will be over.
ReplyDeleteIt does make me a little nervous though... especially his showboating for AIPAC (which is why I can't embrace him wholeheartedly). But I understand that he has to play this role. Sometimes you have to play the game in order to change it.
I'm willing to wait and see what he actually does once he gets into the White House. The priviledged white men before him (with a few exceptions) have been given a free pass and have been annointed one after the other. So Obama deserves a chance to get into office and perform. But I will be pissed if we get to 2012 and it is still business as usual. .... $2000 per plate dinners, lobbyists running everything from behind the scenes...politicians being bought, scandal and corruption everywhere, citizens with absolutely no access to their public officials (only lobbyists and the wealthy having access), wars over nonsense, no comprehensive healthcare system, an idiotic energy policy, no effort to at least start the process of leaving Iraq, etc etc etc.
I'm just concerned that things are so screwed up right now that it may not be possible for him to deliver on all of the priorities in his platform that people want, at least not by the end of his first term.
The country is a mess and people are worried about whether or not Obama wears a flag pin?
ReplyDeleteObama can't catch a break. He also has to deal with Bill Clinton who is telling everyone "Obama can kiss my ass". Really that is how you talk about the nominee of your party Bill? You know Obama and Michelle are sick of him but what can they do?
Field, teh O-man really dissapointed me by going off on Wes Clarke. Everything he has done lately kills a small piece of my belief that he is not a triangulating, reagan democrat just like Bill Clinton was.
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why di the O man have to diss Clarke for laying the smack down on McCain?
ReplyDeleteNot intending to be disrespectful an shit but I get so amused with you nee-grows on this blog. Don't be fooled...Obama is doing his best jig and ya'll know it! He has to show his REAL masters that he's a willing and humble servant-slave. If anyone here believes that Barack is any different from Hillary, John or George..they on crack!
ReplyDeleteI ain't tryna bust ya bubble here sistas and brothas but shit is going to get worst than better.
Face it...it's the end of democracy and Barack can't do a damn thing about it and he'll do what most politicians do.
Get paid and do what the fuck he's told.
Brother Field.. Bro O is in waters without a life-jacket. He is grabbing anything to keep afloat. It hard seeing a drowning man go down. The lapel pin and etc, I am disappointed that he went against his orignal premise. One thing I noticed is that historically Black men/people have never had a means to truly show patriotism. The dominate race have had VFWs/Amer Legions. Black veterans by numbers have not participated. When we were wearing the X (Malcomn) tee shirts, maybe we should have worn Amer. flags on our chest. Bro O never having been in the military maybe should have seen this one coming. I believe he may have felled in that trap of "we all in this together". Surly he should have someone on staff to tell him how a Black man is precieved here on the mainland. Hell, even the Daughters of The Confederate are seen as patriots.
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth in this day and age would people still fret over whether or not someone wears a flag pin??????? That's utterly absurd.
ReplyDeleteMy second point...Wesley Clark was right in what he said. Just because you served in the military does not mean you are owed the presidency. There is a reason why all Presidents must be a civilian as opposed to a military commander.
And another thing, there are many ways to express your patriotism without serving in the military.
ReplyDeleteCindy Sheehan who protested against this illegal war is a true patriot.
Anyone willing to call out their government when it is doing wrong is a true patriot.

ReplyDeleteField Negro....
ReplyDeleteWhen will our people learn??
Obama has always shown us that he's set on being the black Fred Astaire with his never-ending "kiss up to the whites" song and dance!!
Didn't we see this from the VERY start?
Obama has surrounded himself with white men who are advising him on how to win the white vote.... "just keep on being the GOOD BLACK Barry!!"
And now we see so clearly... the O-ster is ready to step up and claim his OSCAR for "best actor" in the role of a white man pretending to be a black man in his bid for POTUS...
Aren't we all a bit tired of gagging at his pathetic people-pleasing and behind-kissing?? Aren't we?
What's next?? A photo op with Barry mowing the lawn at the Clinton's house with a smile on his face waving a checkbook to pay all the bills she racked up slandering him??
{sigh}

ReplyDeleteSomeone here was trash-talking about you on What About Our Daughters in the comment thread about gun ownership.
c'mon, people. we all know that the guy just HAS to do this shit. let's not pretend that he can literally win the nomination without having to pander even a little bit. we ALL excuse the repubs when they engage in tactics, but attack our peeps when they "engage politically." we're adults, and obama's giving us an adult politics. fer chrissakes, how long has it been since we've HEARD some maturity from political leaders? again, C'MON!
ReplyDeleteIt's traditional for Dems to touch base with Harry Truman. Harry also issued an executive order to integrate the military, but the military dithered until Korea forced them to stick Charlie Rangel in a foxhole.
ReplyDeletePut yourself in Truman's shoes in 1945. Think what happened on Okinawa & imagine that going on for another two years. Maybe it would have, maybe it wouldn't. But we were faced with immediately shipping our war weary armies from Europe to the other side of the world. All our allies were physically & financially worn out.
"Obama has always shown us that he's set on being the black Fred Astaire with his never-ending "kiss up to the whites" song and dance!!"
ReplyDeleteGroovy, we can call him Sammy Davis Jr. No offense to Sammy who made the best the best of what he had to succeed in a challenging world for everyone.
you guys are kidding yourselves if you think one doesnt have to compromise their souls in order to get the presidency. this is politics, unfortunately, and no, obama isnt going to be the catalyst for change in washington. he is a politician. and a weak one.
ReplyDeletebut hes the best available option.
and thats why you shouldnt throw away your vote. this isnt the time to try and change the dynamics of dirty and weak poitics; we are at war and we are approaching a steep, economic downturn.
maybe in 4 or 8 years, we'll find something better, or at least be able to afford looking to new, obscure parties, but not now.
vote obama
A VIRGIN IS COMING said ...so I say MR. OBAMA put the pin on and get an Uncle Sam costume if you gotta.
ReplyDeleteAre you suggesting that he out Don King, Don King?

heartsndflowers, as long as they don't call me "collect" they can call me whatever the hell they want to :)
r.j., I saw that link earlier. Wow!
"So when he stops in Intercourse, PA ... "
LMAO!cayotefe stop it! It's too early for me to be laughing this hard.
jody, it was a lovely speech, and the "O" man said some wonderful things, but.....Aren't they all--wonderful speeches--and doesn't he always say wonderful things?
And bob, you are right about Truman. He did integrate the Army, and for that, he gets credit.
I swear. Some of you all are never happy. The man is ahead in the polls and has a pretty good movement going on, yet I swear when I read the comments on blogs and forums you'd think the man was down by 20 points. Some of you all have to accept the fact that Obama isn't going to change the world. He's only one man...and on top of that, he's not President yet. I mean shit, when you get the idiots at a debate to ask you in front of a national audience why you don't wear a flag pin...you realize that 'shit, it's probably just easier to put one on'.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, but Obama is a politician so I expect him to do some dancing and some shifting of positions. It comes with the job. He's a fresh face in politics and does bring some new ideas but at the same time, let's be real, most Americans are afraid of drastic change. He's been labeled the most liberal senator in Congress...so when running a General campaign, of course he's going to move to the center. I mean "Duh". It's called strategy. Obama's betting that he'll keep his supporters and now he's trying to win over Clinton supporters, independents and disgruntled republicans.
There is never any rest for the weary. You know what I find so funny about this whole patriotism thing. I live in a fairly mixed community the ONLY PEOPLE that are flying an American flag in their yard are the Muslims living next door. Things that make you go hmmm
ReplyDeleteYou know how rare it is for a Muslim to live in a democracy?
ReplyDeleteHell, were I one, I'd be flying the flag high too! (and not just because it might keep the FBI offa my lawn!)
Barack will be bought and paid for, just like every president has been. The only question is, are you buying?
~
ReplyDeleteObama is supposed to speak on religion today.
Another Obamination, or will we be plesantly surprised?
`
Field... YOU SAID:You see, to them, love of country means different things: It means wearing your flag pin at all times, it means not questioning your government when they do fucked up things, it means protecting our borders at all costs from people who look and act a little different than we are; people who we think will come here and try to change our way of life, it means that we take everything the good book says literally and keep god in our lives at all times. Because, after all, everybody knows that god is an A-merry-can. Are you for all of those things "O" man? If you are,you can kiss my vote goodbye."
ReplyDeleteHe did not say these things. His record does not reflect someone who believes these things.....
I am an activist. When activists get together to plan something, we use consensus, not majority rule. In using consensus, we seek ALL perspectives, we listen to all concerns and we try to include all folks input into what needs to be done.
Seems to me, that is what Obama is doing right now. He is seeking to reach out to those whom I may not agree with on everything, but he is right in that we ALL have common concerns.... we ALL want a cleaner environment, we all want a quality education for our children, safety in our homes and communities, health care available when we are sick or injured. And, I think most Americans recognize that the infrastructure of this country needs serious repair and priority for sustainable, renewable energy.
So, while it makes me uncomfortable to see him reaching out to constituencies that have different beliefs than me.... I also know that if he is to accomplish what he says he wants to... that is required.
And, if he doesn't, you will see me in the streets protesting, agitating and organizing to challenge him.
Black Repubbabubbas? Oxywhatsits? Next, there's gonna be GLBT Repubbabubbas. Oh, yeah, that's right, they're the Log Cabins, like that Lincoln fellow. Except, not like him at all.
ReplyDeleteWe're doomed.
nsangoma,
ReplyDeleteIs it gonna been in Intercourse?
I like Obamination, clever. Doubtful you will be pleased, but then again, I haven't been too happy either.
Obama's comments of late are having the same "drip-drip" effect on me, too, Field. Whenever he is attempting to appeal to a constituency whose ideas I detest, I tend to rationalize that he's doing so only to get elected, because he has to. But I am reminded that that kind of cherry-picking of points I think he really believes and others I think he does not can also be identified sheer self-projection. And he has been more than ever a site for projection lately.
ReplyDeleteOf course I'll vote for him, of course I hope he wins, of course if he doesn't, I'll be horrified.
But I hope that he really is a transformational politician, one who is attempting to impress upon voters that real change happens from the bottom up, that a president can and will not do more than protect the status quo unless the populous is loudly and actively involved. I hope. But the right wing rhetoric is disappointing me. That he is currently 15 points ahead means that he can afford to be much more progressive than he is.
i agree with those saying that obama has to do this whole little song and dance if he wants to keep running...but i'm nervous.
ReplyDeletewill he have to continue with the song and dance (which will become less "dancelike" and more "typical of a politician" to us as time goes on) to maintain his presidency?
that's what makes me nervous. are they gonna play him like a string puppet once he's in, if he gets in?
i personally think he needs to stick to his guns a bit more, because at this rate, he is not rocking my vote (and mccain will never get it).
Re: tap dancing. Doesn't matter how much he turns into a Mr. Bojangles, he's still better than the alternative.

ReplyDeleteObama is not going to change the world. Only god can do that job. Obama is a politician and so is McCain. Welcome to the real world!
Nsangoma,
ReplyDeleteIt's also fuck, as in fuck religion. Oh, I didn't say that!
I'm just a little tired of politcal folks feeling like they have to pander to the religious pious idiots in this world. (Same thing applies to this who's the bigger patriot shit, too.)
Aargh! I have no problem with people having a religion or faith, just quit throwing it in our faces.
There are a lot of religions out there and the pious white evangelical movement is just one. So get over it!
Do you like George Bush's faith-based initiatives?
ReplyDeleteSo does Barack Obama.
Bush’s controversial program of steering Federal dollars to faith-based social service programs and religious groups has earned him the ire of many who say the program is a violation of the ‘Separation of Church and State’ doctrine.
But in a move to appeal to Bible-thumping, evangelical voters, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is announcing plans that would expand Bush’s faith-based program to get religious charities more involved in anti-poverty programs, food banks, and youth ministries.
Obama will make today at Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio:
“The challenges we face today, from putting people back to work to improving our schools, from saving our planet to combating HIV/AIDS to ending genocide, are simply too big for government to solve alone. We need all hands on deck.”
Ostensibly, the difference between Bush and Obama’s appproaches to faith-based initiatives is in Obama’s case, Obama does not support requiring religious tests for aid recipients nor using Federal money to proselytize. Still though, the Federal dollars in religious programs is troubling to many who believe the separation of church and state is being violated by such programs.
That's too bad Chris, defiantly a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteJody write: Obama also linked the today’s debate about patriotism to the “culture wars of the 1960s,” as he distanced himself from an attack made last fall by the liberal group MoveOn.org on Gen. David Petraeus. ...he is dealing with a whisper campaign that he is not really American, that he a manchurian candidate....
ReplyDeleteIn my view, that statement also comes from a real part of his actual political perspective. I don't have it in front of me now, but I am pretty sure that he discusses this thing about the 60s in the book he wrote that was published in 2005, Audacity of Hope.
To my eyes, that statement reflects a particular kind of subtlety in his analysis -- a subtlety that seems to evade the perception of progressives and other leftists who can't take in new information if it's in categories outside the existing worldview.
So many people, right AND left, seem to be looking at Senator Obama through their own pre-set filters rather than looking at what he actually says, does and is about.
(Jody, this is not specifically about you! Just got sparked by your comment)
And speaking of your comments, Jody,. I love what you said here: In using consensus, we seek ALL perspectives, we listen to all concerns and we try to include all folks input into what needs to be done.
So, while it makes me uncomfortable to see him reaching out to constituencies that have different beliefs than me.... I also know that if he is to accomplish what he says he wants to... that is required.
I see this focus on bringing things in for consensus in what he does and have noticed it for quite some time now. This approach is well outside of the good guys/bad guys worldview animating much of the left in this country, which IMO is sad.
But then, I think that some people don't want to actually deal with the fact that they are part of a nation that includes people who don't agree with them except to the extent that they should educate those other people to see "the truth" that they in their superior vision can see better.

Who cares if he wears a flag pin or not. Can he get us out of Iraq?
ReplyDeleteCan he help to bring down the cost of gasoline? Can he come up with some laws to protect the people from being tricked into preditory loans? Can he make the rest of the world forget about the last 7 years under the thumb of a dumb ass president?
Can he do something other than wear a flag pin?
Again, WHO CARES?????????
The fact that Obama is catching more hell than the past presidential candidates combined is a sign he is the right man for the job. He catches it from all sides not just one - damn sure got my vote just for that alone.
ReplyDeleteObama is going to have to pander (shuck and jive as it were) to alot whackos to make it all the way. Shit, JFK had to do the samething, but once he makes CEO then I'll judge him.
ReplyDeleteHappy Canada Day yah all. :)
What I find sad is that some Americans believe that by wearing flag on their lapels or blowing in the breeze on their that somehow makes you patriotic, and if you were to ask the the average American probably could not tell you what the red and white stripes represent on the flag, or know their rights as citizens. The audacity. They criticized Barack Obama is not patriotic which is another way of saying that he is second class citizen and does not consider him an American.
ReplyDeleteIf I am going to walk around with a symbol, it should be the Constitution as it is the foundation of the country, but flags are just so much better to wave and it does not require reading. I am with the late George Carlin when he said that Americans are stupid. It's a sad commentary, but it is true. Despite the modern technology available to get information, and people still do not make use of it. However, the continue with the mantra we are the best country in the world, but I am with the opinion of Bill Maher when he said that "we are not on a build to the 21st century, we are on a bus to Atlantic City with a roll of quarters.
We paid more attention to trifling details such boycotting a Batman film when it used mechanical penguins and step over a homeless person on the way to the boycott. We pay attention to flag burning and not notice that our civil liberties are deteriorating.
Field, unfortunately, you have to speak to addled and feeble-minded Americans in the simple terms they can comprehend, treat as if they are in kindergarten (and that's insult really to the to the little ones), and supply them with visual aid so you do not taxed their brains with even hint of critical thinking. I'm a little peevish today, so forgive me.
Man Field and Nsangoma,
ReplyDeleteI am totally totally frutrated, irritated and disgusted with Mr. Drip Meister. My support has dripped to an all time low. I am depressed. I am in grief. I don't know where to turn. Advancing more of the Shrub's Faith Based Initiatives? Yuck!!! Gotta move on, man. Get away from that crap. Also, in spite of what Mr. O' Man said today, it is Un-Constritutional. Aargh!!! I am ready to draw the blood lines here. Man, oh man am I upset.
We are so fucked.
Mr. O' Man, quit pandering to the crackers before you lose the few white folks that can still stand behind you (with stoopid little white smiles on our faces).
Respectfully submitted,
Whitney Brown
whitney b, it will be alright, I promise. I have some potion for that O-Aid. That goes for all you Obamaholics. I told you all when this process started that you could come to Fieldsville for detox. The offer still stands :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in a faith mode. I'm not qualified to [over]analyze Obama, so I'm gonna make the only sane choice I can this November...vote D and (wish I could) vote often. ;)
ReplyDeleteUnless, of course, Field decides to run. Then it's a whole new ball game.
Mr. Field,
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are right and you've got some mighty damn good potions because I am ready to tear down my signs from my windows and whip off my little pins.
Aargh!!! The pandering, the little two stepping and fetching, I can't stand it. This is House Negro behavior. This is some bad JuJu fer sure. But, if you're going to take care of all this, I trust it to your big shoulders to deliver us from evil.
And, for your info, I did not drink the O-Aid. I really believed that he was our only salvation against the big porkin' old (and Edwards) white men against the world. After all, we do need a fresh face in these days of multi-color relations.
Sounds like a movie cartoon. Perhaps it has become one.
Hugh O'Donnell,
ReplyDeleteGot that right. Wish Drip Meister would pick Mr. Field to run as his Veep. Watch out Washington!!! And Jefferson and all the rest of them rascals.
Off topic,
ReplyDeleteAs some of you all know, I have to move to Mississippi. I am cancer girl, so do any of you all know where I can find a good general practioner's physician's assistant or doctor in the Biloxi area? I can't stand the thought of leaving Philly and all of my great doctors, especially my PA, who is God's little sweet crazy angel. Shout out to Laurel Green, the greatest little pixie PA in the world!!!
Wow whitney b, sorry to hear you are leaving. And I hope you have the big C under control. Sounds like you do so keep doing what you do. You are right, Philly has some great cancer treatment facilities. (FOX CHASE comes to mind)
ReplyDeleteI am not too familiar with that area (Biloxi) but I will keep my ear to the ground for you.
Shoot me an e-mail sometime if you want to just holla at a brotha. [fnblg@yahoo.com]
whitney b, biloxi is about 90 miles from new orleans and my b.f. is a physician assistant, but not for a general practitioner. i will be happy to get him to ask around if you'd like. here's my email: amorphous.funk@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteSigh...it's sad that he has to do all this. But he does. If his name were Brad Harold Overton and he was raised in St.Louis, I'd be disappointed. But he's Barack Hussein Obama from Hawaii and Indonesia. People still believe he's a Muslim! One false move and he'll be swiftboated like nobody's business.
ReplyDeleteYou are right.
Wesley Clark COULD have attacked McCain on MANY fronts. Why do Dems do crap the HARD way. He COULD have nailed McCain for:
ReplyDeletea) NOT supporting the Modern GI Bill
b) NOT even showing up to vote for it
c) LYING that he had had anything to do with it.
Clark would have been the perfect choice to attack McCain on the TRUTH of McCain's voting record with regards to soldier issues - which is HORRIBLE.
Christopher,
I have no problem with this, because Obama's beginning in Community Organizing was through a ' faith-based' group.
