Shame on all of us.

So this is what it has come to. After almost eight years of the most inept, corrupt, venal, and morally deprived administration in the history of these divided states; we have finally reached the point where we cannot be shocked by anything they do. Because, let's be honest folks, if this story doesn't shock you, I don't know what will.

Ron Suskind is a well respected journalist, and he has taken the time to write a serious book with credible sources, to tell us what we already know about the thugs who ran our country for the past seven plus years. Of course, as is always the case, the wingnuts are in full fight back mode. He is just another political hack who has issues with our president. It's all lies. Don't believe a word of it. He is not credible. But we know better don't we. And I think most A-merry-cans (even the republicans) know better too. Still, we are all past the point of being shocked at anything the Bushites do now. We are all just hoping this long nightmare will end, and that the frat boy and his minions will just go off into the Texas sunset. ----If you don't believe that this country has issues with race, ask yourself: How in the hell could any candidate who can walk and chew gum at the same time only be up a couple of points on the candidate from the frat boy's party?----

Come on field, do you really think our president would order papers forged in order to link al-Qaeda to Sadaam in order to justify a war with Iraq? Yes I do! And every A-merry-can with half of a brain should too. But we can't can we. We refuse to believe that the man we elected twice to lead our great nation can be capable of such nefarious and scurrilous things. But he is. If I was on a jury and I let a killer go free, and he went out and killed again, I would feel bad too. In the fall of 2000 we let the killer go, because maybe we didn't know. But then we had our chance, and we tried him a second time [in 2004], and we let him go again. Now, the proof is in, and we are faced with the reality that he is the killer, and we feel so bad about ourselves that we just choose to block it all out.

Well I voted against the son of a bitch. Twice! So I feel no guilt, and I have a clear conscience. And it gives me great joy to say: I told you so.

  2. I got a request from the Obama campaign to donate and I would win a chance to go back stage at the Democratic convention in Denver next month. I wrote them back and said, oh, I will be in Denver, but I wont be inside... I will be outside with rhousands of others in the streets who are pissed off at the Democrats in Congress who have refused to Impeach this son of a bitch and have refused to stop funding this fucking war! I dont give a damn what time it is.... if you violate the law, you should be held accountable!
My only hope is that the Iraqi people will go to the Haigue and file War Crimes charges against this regime and that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle and all the others will be shackled and sent off to face the world court. I have no doubt THEY would have the courage to send them to prison, where they belong!!!

Dennis Kucinich has been saying for years that charges of impeachment should be brought against G. W. Bush and Dick Cheney. But have they? Is impeachment still off the table Ms. Pelosi? And if so, why the hell not?

    Bravo Jody!

No surprise here that Bush and his posse are liars and war criminals. Bush is probably a serial killer by proxy--although many people died at his hands when he was Gov. of Texas, so—by proxy would be generous to the son of a bitch.

Nothing surprises me about Bush and his gang of thugs . . .

I am not shocked or put anything pass the Bush Administration. What really amazes me is the stupidity of the folk who believed the lies. Incredible. You know the adage, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Does anyone remember when Dubba made an attempt to say that adage at a press conference.

However, aren't going to miss him. Where else can head such Bushism like I know how hard it is to put food on our families, they tried to misunderestimate us, or"I heard somebody say, 'Where's (Nelson) Mandela?' Well, Mandela's dead. Because Saddam killed all the Mandelas." , and two of my personal favorites "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country," and "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

If stupidity was illegal, Bush would have life sentence without parole.

    http://speaker.house.gov/contact/

    Dear Madam Speaker,
With journalist Mr. Suskind's latest revelations of the Bush Adminstration's falsification of documents to lead us into war, I fully expect you to initiate impeachment proceedings. You have a Constitutional obligation to do so.
Preservation of our Constitution, which you swore to uphold, is of far greater importance than political considerations. In fact, I think most Americans will see you as only fulfilling your constitutional obligations by doing so.
I implore you. Do your duty. The fate of our country of being a nation of laws depends upon it.

    Most Sincerely,
    Jody Dodd

I saw some Bubba with a W sticker on his Chevy truck this past weekend, and I'll admit I wanted to shove the front bumper of my car underneath his rear bumper and spin his ass out like Dale Earnhardt used to do.

The good news is that I've only seen one vehicle with a McCain sticker in my "red" neighborhood so maybe people are aware of their voting sins now.

  14. Hmmm... Tenet was a Clinton appointee and he told Bush the WMD find in Iraq was a slam dunk. They went there and the bunkers were empty, the UN seals had been broken. No one knows exactly when this happened. Maybe they were old and useless like the WMD's they did find and just missing. But why did Hussein block off the UN from inspections? I think he was more afraid of Iran than he was of us. He couldn't admit he didn't have WMD's for fear of invasion by Iran and Clinton's launching random missles when Iraq broke UN rules didn't scare him as much.

The thing is he didn't need a forged memo, it was never presented to Congress to change their minds and the press rejected it. It was printed in England.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. it works the same in any country." -- Hermann Goering, President of the Reichstag, Nazi Party, and Luftwaffe Commander in Chief"

  23. I just wish that so many people had not scoffed at me when I said in 2000 that if I were an Iraqi, I'd start constructing a bomb shelter, in 2001 when I said "Bush knew" and in 2003 when I said the war was a scam to transfer the U.S. treasury to Halliburton et al. I'm not Nostradamus over here, or even particularly smart, as ya'll may have noticed, so all I can surmise is that most Americans are so pampered, so arrogant, and so sure that "it can't happen here" that they are in a state of psychotic denial. I don't know what will wake people up. Video tape of Bush or Cheney canabalizing an American white child?

Field, I just got back from Robin's Bay, Jamaica (my favorite place), and ended up in Kingston for a day. What a beautiful city from what I saw, but what an unabashed, glaring contrast between rich and poor? I kept thinking that we don't have poverty here that comes close to that of Robin's Bay or Kingston. But is it just me, or are we working on it as hard as we can?

It's been awhile since I was out of the country, so I'd like to report back that the Jamaicans, Europeans, and Canadians whom I met are really, really, really pissed off at our country, even more than even I would have thought. Most people are nice enough to realize that we didn't all vote for Bush, but their patience is wearing thin. And I don't blame them one bit. Every non-American I talked to at any length said more or less, "if you don't elect Obama, it's all over."

    ReplyDelete
  24. Unfortunately this does not surprise me.

a.f. I hear what you are saying. Last night I was talking with some expat women and they asked why is McCain even in the running? How could he possibly win? What is going on in America? One of the women is British/Nigerian, one Ethopian, a New Zealander, and an Italian-American. None of them could understand how Bush got elected twice!

I didn't vote for Bush and I look forward to the day he leaves office.

I don't know what the heck is wrong with Condi. She should have backed Powell. And no not just because he's black but because he was fighting like hell against Rummy and the crew and she sided with Rummy. Why? Did she really think this war was a good idea? did they not know by removing Saddam they would create a vacuum and civil war would break out? How arrogant to think you can roll up into a country that is thousands of years old and "poof" create a democracy. Then again when you have a president who is from one of the richest families in American but had only traveled overseas once before becoming president, I'm not shocked that he doesn't a clue about the rest of the world. What I find sad is he revels in his ignorance because it makes most Americans feel like "he's guy you could have a beer with."

Remember how John Kerry was suspect because he spoke French?

Yes, we get the president we deserve.

Some Black People voted for him because he was a "Christian".

I'm a Christian and I wasn't fooled by this dumbass. And my "Christian" friends don't want to talk about how they voted against their own best interests...twice.

While he has done more for Africa than any other President since time, it doesn't excuse how he played the country he's supposed to govern, for personal gain and to line the pockets of the cronies who got him selected.

And how many times when someone tells the truth, their response is to come back with a smear job against the messenger, call him loony or saying they're lying - before the public gets outraged enough to call bullshyt?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Those of you that voted for him have yourselves to blame, but Granny's conscience is clear, because I didn't vote for him neither time. He didn't fool me with his gay and abortion platform one bit, nor did he fool me when he declared war on Iraq. When he declared war on Iraq, all sorts of signals started going off and my sixth sense came into play and spoke to my heart get ready for disaster, destruction, and innocent blood shed.

I don't know if any of you were paying attention the first day the soldiers arrived in Iraq, it was as quiet as a church house mouse, no resistence whatsoever. That should have told many of you that something wasn't right.

Even Osama Ben Laden tried to warn Americans that Bush wasn't telling the truth, but naw, Americans pride got in the way, because after all why should we believe him after what he did to our fellow Americans in 9/11. Even real journalist tried to warn America, but they paid them no mind. However, the truth was the man was being sincere, you could hear it in his voice. Yup, he was being as straight with us as straight line, but we ignored him. We let our anger do our thinking for us.

It sort of reminds me of two people fighting, and one is whipping the other one and knocks his opponent down and tells him if you get up, I'm gonna knock you down again. However, his opponent doesn't listen, and gets up again, and he knocks him down again.

So those who voted for him deserve what is happening now, it's the ones that didn't vote for him that shouldn't have to go through it, but whelp that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

They resented your 'elitism' and 'unearned superiority'. This is their revenge. 'Affirmative action' for diploma mill religio-crazies. No oversight contracts for friends and family. Laws that only apply to others.

For years I've heard the whines of less than competents about how the system is rigged and is unfair and all the spoils go to the undeserving. Hmm. A modicum of reseach would reveal a vast gulf between efforts. Yeah, the Docs kid got a scholarship. Not from family connections...but from honest work. You can't get one if you don't apply. Oh, and the world normally eats stoopid people. Don't get a degree from a High School? You should not be surprised if all the jobs you are offered are dead-end, low-wage, tedious ones.

I live in rural Pennsyltucky where native stupidity is revered as the most godly state of man. Funny thing is, most societies treat the stupid harshly. Rap and Country may glorify the unwashed and lazy, but the universe tends to grind them into paste.

The host asked her about making this moronic statement and Pelosi basically said "Show me a crime and I will order the Articles of Impeachment."

The forged document used by the Bush junta to justify the Iraq war is the criminal act Pelosi needs to impeach but alas, this lame-brained, San Francisco socialite, addicted to power and the prestige that comes with the job (nevermind that Congress enjoys a 9% approval number), will prevent her from ever carrying out the Oath of Office she took upon becoming Speaker.

Asif Ali Zardari, the leader of Pakistan's ruling coalition, made the announcement at a news conference in Islamabad, the capital, on Thursday afternoon.

"We have good news for democracy," Zardari said. "The coalition believes it is imperative to move for impeachment against General Musharraf."

Zardari said Musharraf had failed to get a vote of confidence from the new government, following its election in February.

"The economic policies pursued by President Musharraf during the past eight years have brought Pakistan to the brink of critical economic impasse," he said.

"His policies have weakened the federation and eroded the trust of the nation in national institutions."

All Cindy Sheehan has to do is put up a serious contest. I'm from the Bay Area and I hear from family that Cindy's campaign is picking up steam, primarily because Ms. Nancy is ignoring the voters in her district. San Francisco was the first city to pass resolutions and calling for impeachment as far back as 2003.

Letter-Writing is good; forcing Ms. Nancy to actually have to campaign for her seat is even better, because she gets shown who's really in charge.

We were in Capetown on election day and were obviously depressed with the results. The interesting thing is that the radio stations were saying that "...this is a dark day for the world...George Bush has been re-elected..."

Even the Afrikaaner who owned the B&B we stayed at even called W the antichrist. It is a shame that Americans can't see(or refuses to--there are "..None so blind..." what the world has seen clearly.

He will never be impeached. The Congressional Dems don't have the guts, and will give the lame excuse that it is a political waste of time.

The average american allows themselves to be duped because they don't want to consider the reality that their government can be complicit in any conspiracy, no matter how much the facts tell them otherwise.

The american ignorance and stupidity is what will get McCain elected. I have gulped down the O-aid, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to keep your gym routine up. As much as I hate it, your insights have been right on.

  50. I wore all black to the office after election day 2004 as in mourning the death of the US. I live in the reddest of red states. Stupid MoFo's that voted for Dubbya. I predict there will have to be a real revolution hopefully within my lifetime but definitely my kids lifetime. Two hundred years without a revolution has to be some kind of record. When will people start giving a shit about what matters instead of the bullshit celebrity worship. Nothing's going to change until people start getting pissed off and stop hiding their noses in the tabloids.

There is no doubt that Bush should be impeached but we have to ask ourselves why the folks from the other party aren't pushing for it.

The answer is simple; they don't disagree with him all that much.
Field you know that dirty tricks by the US government is not confined to Republicans. The Gulf of Tonkin incident which was one of the justifications to enter full scale into war with Vietnam was hatched under a Democratic(LBJ) administration. It was a democratic administration led by slick Willy Jefferson Clinton which imposed sanctions on Iraq which resulted directly and indirectly in the deaths of tens of thousands of Iraqis. I will never forget how the Democratic Secretary of State Madeline Albright looked the CBS cameras in the eye and said the deaths, "were worth it."

The US ruling class which includes both parties wanted these wars. While Senator Obama claims he was opposed to the Iraqi takeover only Barbara Lee had the guts to oppose the illegal Afghanistan invasion.

Great impassioned writing by folks on here but we have to stop kidding yourselves about the differences between the ruling class parties. They agree on the goal but disagree on tactics.

Good point Field however about race trumping even political considerations. While Obama is not who folks think he is, for those who think there are differences you are right the Democrat should be a no brainer.

Eventually since we are talking about changes here everyone is going to have to look this system in the eye and admit that both parties are culpable for the glaring domestic failures and the foreign military adventurism.

Of course that will be the day....

  52. If impeachment hearings were initiated now, the GOP would almost certainly win the presidency in November. (Remember, the Democrats are a dismal failure at controling the message on anything and the GOP would win the PR race on this issue, no matter how bleak it might look for Bush.) The timing is just too risky. It isn't easy for me to admit this because I SO want to see the bastard impeached. I understand Pelosi's strategy and I believe she is right. I'm not sure he would be impeached and I'm furthermore almost certain the Democrats would lose the presidency. It's not worth it for everyone to feel good for a few weeks or months then be stuck with a McCain administration.

Better than impeachment is that Bush and Co. are tried for war crimes. And that could actually happen. Frankly, the thought of him going to prison feels a hell of a lot better. And for him to be tried by people he holds in comtempt would be almost too good to be true whether or not he is found guilty.

  53. Better than impeachment is that Bush and Co. are tried for war crimes.

    West Coast Story,

    Where? How?

The only place this could possibly happen is before the Hague and the Motherfucker from Midland cleverly removed the U.S. from the tribunal in the months leading up to the 2002 AUMF vote and March 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The Hague now has no statutory authority over the U.S. and unless there is something spelled out in the Evidence Convention (Field is the lawyer -- not me), I just don't see it happening.

No, Speaker Botox needed to act swiftly upon becoming Speaker back in November 2006. Now the window has past and both Bush and Cheney will walk free and clear in another 5 1/2 months.

  54. Ever considered the difference between an American and an A-merry-can? No punchline, just seems to me they're two different types of people and it's Americans, not A-merry-cans, who expect these types of things from W.

    I agree!

Mellaneous, you are right, this is a two party f**k up.

grims...I am not sure, but I think I might have worn "all black" the day after too.

doc, thanks for commenting, and don't be a stranger next time. I love your insight. Telling us how the people of SA felt after the frat boy's victory was priceless.

This article says that technically the court does not exist until everyone signs it. The US, Japan, and Russia have not. But there's this

    and this

So it's not entirely clear to me. The US can prosecute under this law but cannot be prosecuted? When technically this court shouldn't even exist. I have an acquaintance steeped in international law. I will try to catch up with him.

  57. Clear conscious here.

    I'm Not surprised at all.

When I heard that he had talked to God, and that God wanted him to run because something was going to happen, bells went off.

Was I surprised, no. But guess what, ther's still time left.

  58. When he was running for office, I kept telling people that you could look in his eyes and tell that he wasn't right, and his partner in crime, the VP you could look at him and tell that he is meaner than a junk yard dog.

McCain, every time I look at him I see a snake in the grass. People think Bush was something else, vote for McCain and you haven't seen nothing yet. McCain goes off half cocked, he's confused most of the time, and he hates minorites and gays.

He disrespects his own wife in public, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is a closet wife abuser. What kind of man offers his wife to participate in a practically nude contest or calls her the "c" word in public? Men like that who disrespect their own wives in public, I have no respect for, because he thinks he is "the one" and living in the cavemen days at that.

His wife is not too bright, weak, and must be scared of him, because she should have had kicked him to the curb and divorced him. The same way he treated his first wife is the same way he'll treat her, I don't know what made her think that she would be so special to him.

Those Hillary folks can cut off their noses to spite their face if they want to, but I would suggest they think again, do they really want a man who obviously has no respect for women in the White House, because he might be the one to abolish women's rights.

  59. These Shrillary supporters are nuts if they vote for McThusela.

They were nuts to vote for Shrillary. Here's why...

In one of the debates , they tried to put BHO on the spot with an affirmative action question. But it was HER answer that was the most dangerous to women.

She said she would end affirmative action! The very same program that has benefitted women more that it has Blacks.

She and Bill are nothing but rethugs posing as Democrats!

    Granny you are on point.

  60. BTW, Field:

Isn't that Star Parker, on the sidebar, the one that wrote that book lying about her supposedly once upon a time welfare status to help boost Reagan's "Welfare Queen Myth"?

  61. Gregory:

Hillary supporters have mud in their eyes right now and their better judgement is clouded. However, they had better pay close attention to how he treats his wife. He treats her like trash and more than likely verbally abuses her in order to control her mind and make her think no one wants her but him. With all the cancer fighting bouts, aging, and medication he's more than likely taking, his whip appeal probably ain't what it used to be when he divorced his first wife to be with her. Therefore, he resorts to sadistic type methods to keep her in check. The glow of a truly happy wife is missing and has been replaced with a forced, fake smile.

  62. Or the way he offered up his wife at the biker thing.

Granny, if they elect this old man they will be sorry. more than they are now. But it will serve them right.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Gregory:

Amen, that's the truth. Yup, that's exactly what I'm talking about the biker thing. McCain thought he was scoring points by telling them that.

Most bikers are party animals and most of the women they fool with are passed around like a piece of meat. I bet those bikers probably couldn't tell you what McCain said because more than likely they were too high and intoxicated to even remember. They probably don't think much of him, because bikers usually marry stay at home wives and treat them with the utmost respect. The women you see riding with them are usually not their wives and they don't get the same respect as bikers give their wives.
