It turns out that's how many times the O man's right hand man, Rahm Emanuel, chatted it up with Rod Blagojevich. And, it turns out, there was no juicy discussion about a quid pro quo between his O ness and Blago for his Senate seat.
That chill you feel is from the air caused by the wind that just got sucked out of Conservatives. Just last week Sean Hannity and his friends from FOX were speculating that there might have been as much as 25 different taped conversations between Emanuel and Blago. And they were salivating at the possibilities. Oh if only it could have been different, Christmas would have been a year long event for my friends on the right.
"Sources also confirm that Emanuel made the case for picking Obama confidante Valerie Jarrett during at least one of the conversations. In the course of that conversation, Harris asked if in return for picking Jarrett, "all we get is appreciation, right?" "Right," Emanuel responded."
Yep, all you get is "appreciation" that' s kind of how the O man rolls, and rolling like that has served the O man well.
S0 move along folks, there is no scandal to see here. His O ness and his crew might have been a little slow on the uptake with this one, but once again, there is no fire to go with the smoke.
O man, you are one lucky guy.

ReplyDeleteYou know, the press has been constantly annoying me with trying to tie Obama with Blags. They had the Gov. on tape complaining that Obama's folks wouldn't play ball, Fitzgerald said Obama wouldn't play ball. And yet, they've been doing whatever they can to tie the two. Then they went after Jesse, Jr., and then they went after Emmanuel--just hoping against hope they could Whitewater Obama. Hopefully, this will silence the MSM. I fear that you'll have to pry the conspiracy theories away from conservatives' and Fox's cold, dead hands.

If Emanuel, Obama and his staff are indeed cleared I'm grateful. It's amazing to me how everyone is trying to critque Obama's every move. I can't remember a time when everything from the Inaugral Innvocation to the First Family dog has created such a stir.
ReplyDeleteI think continued interest and involvement is wonderful. The more eyes actually 'watching' you, perhaps the less chances of the President going astray.
But I have no good words for Hannity, Pat Buchannen or Monica Crowley...they are evident in their rhetoric for their dislike of minorities, Blacks in particular.
Who gives a crap if the Republicans will continue with innuendo, they'll be using their time not looking for a way to win the next elections.
ReplyDeleteA person can be pragmatic and not ignorant. Emanuel had endured during the Clinton years, I think he has smarts enough to learn from experiences.
After our previous mayor's office was bugged by the FBI for years (Big Pay to Play Scandal), it would seem that Blagojevich doesn't keep up with current affairs or thought he had been sprinkled with faerie dust and dreamed himself invisible.
If the Republicans spend the next two years sniping at Obama, there will be large Democratic gains in the next election.
ReplyDeleteThe problems that the US is facing right now are of the GOP's making. The war in Iraq, the economic collapse, global warming, the increase in terrorism, the health care crisis.
More of what the GOP wants will make the hole the US is in even deeper. Everyone but the rabid hard core right wing sees that.

ReplyDelete@cinco, I think everything he does is under a microscope from both sides of the spectrum because it is such a historic event. I can barely get my head around the significance of the Obama presidency. But there are so many hopes and dreams and fears that go with it all. I think for a lot of people, myself included, sometimes it is hard to be step back and be objective and rational when your emotions are so revved up.
That's Our Press, happy and eager to speculate, parse, mind-read and even outright novelize for the common rubes consumption.
