I used to date this girl (a long long time ago....), and she would do the wildest shit. To say she was a drama Queen would be an understatement. She would leave nasty notes on my car; yell outside my door and wake my neighbors; and she once came to my job and had to be removed by security guards. Now most of my cousins reading this can relate, because I guarantee you that at some point in their lives they dated a drama King or Queen. My point is that some black folks love drama. They just do. For instance, Pookie and Tre will never leave the hood because they enjoy the po po coming around too much. Nothing excites people in the hood like seeing the po po, and the drama that they bring. And nothing says drama quite like the po po. It's how we know that "no drama Obama" couldn't be 100% black, he doesn't love drama enough. It's how we know that Bill Clinton just might have been the first black Prez., cause that dude loves him some drama.
Which brings me to the point of this post, Roland Burris. Old Roland rolled into Washington today and he brought plenty of drama. To say the scene was something out of a circus would be an understatement. Reporters running over each other, Roland surrounded by lawyers and enablers, and Roland himself in the middle of it all enjoying his time in the spotlight. (Oh yes, Roland has an ego) See Roland, like the rest of my cousins, loves drama.
But poor Roland, he went to Washington but the The White Club For Men (AKA the U.S. Senate) didn't want his black ass around. "Mr. Burris is not in possession of the necessary credentials from the state of Illinois." Sorry Roland, your paperwork is missing a little signature, we just can't seat you. Still, Roland gave it the good old college try. He actually went into the building and was told by the Secretary of the Senate that his paperwork was lacking. (Leave it to "Bob" to always find a way to keep the black man down)
I said this in a previous post, and I will repeat it here: the dumbocrats should have done everything to let Roland get seated. Because at some point I am pretty sure that it's going to happen. Secretary of State, Jessie White, can't hold off signing Roland's paperwork forever. And that imagery today was just pure ugly. There was Roland, potentially the only person of color to sit in that very white body, standing in the rain, and begging to be let in. There were the Senators, all warm and cozy on the other side, saying no. "I will not be accepted, I will not be seated." No Roland you will not. Not this time.
Personally, I blame Roland for all of this mess. He should have made sure that all of his stuff was together before he headed to Washington. And he should have probably turned down the damn appointment to begin with. (Although the more I learn about Roland, the more I realize that he was never going to do that, which is why I am sure that Blago picked him)But now that the horse has left the barn, or the little man has left Corruptgo, I say let him go on and add a spot to the white backdrop that is the senate. Anything to end this spectacle. Besides, from what I have managed to learn about Roland, this is all he ever wanted: to be able to say that he was a U.S. Senator. The poor guy just wanted to add one more line to his tombstone.
Yes, old man Burris has quite a tombstone AND ego. I saw a picture of his tombstone on the "Aunt Jemina's Revenge" blog a few days ago. It looks like a small house.:)
ReplyDeletemr field sometimes i wonder about you. if your black or what. i don't know what type of black folks you been hangin around but i have never met anyone who (and i been a nigga all my life since 81)never wants to leave the hood because they enjoy those terroristic ass military arm of the white power structure that you refer to as the po po's and nothing excites people in the hood like seeing the po po? Word i don't know about that but if you would've added a get shot at the end then i know you talkin about the hood. Like i don't know if you're serious but word? Do we have a ghost whiter or what That just don't seem like anything anybody black would write/relate to/think to say or anything now i had my suspicions for a while but it just seems like something a whitemindset person would write. Earlier this week your defending the Israilies when the body count is something like 530 to 5 injured and 1 dead guess who has like 530 the fighters with the rocks or the fighters with the (USA modified) helicopters. Defending them for hanging with us Word cause they definatly chose to hang they asses with us i'm sure they could have left if they wanted to but chose to hang beside us. Just because some redneck crakas don't like jews almost as much as they don't like us (Blacks cause again i'm not sure about you sir) thats no reason for us to align ourselves with them especially when our plights are so diffrent.
ReplyDeleteMan I've seen enough of Burris and his buddy Bobby Rush. Everytime they speak is a "Negro Please" momement. They don't want to seat his ass because he recieved an appointent from a dude who might be the guest of the feddy gov soon for trying auction this seat, dude is even on tape talking about it. How do I know Burris didn't pay for the seat. States should do away with this power, have the damn special election. What's going here with Patterson and Caroline Kennedy isn't much better either.
ReplyDeleteHow can u not get this field? The democrats cannot afford to be associated with Blago. If they let the guy he appointed in, the right will swarm all over it, and the taint of corruption will ruin their image. The fact that Burris is black only makes it easier for the right to pick on him, because it adds the specter of affirmative action to the corruption. We all know from the anti Obama rhetoric that the right cannot stand to see a successful black man without pointing to affirmative action.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying they are right or wrong in the decision. I'm saying it is politically prudent.
to clarify, I'm saying that rejecting a black man is not political suicide, which is what I think you are trying to say.
ReplyDeleteAnon. 9:26 I think YOU are really "the man", and ghost writing as a black man. At least I hope you are. :(
ReplyDeleteWho are you and what have you done with the Field Negro?
ReplyDeleteLet me guess everything you've learned about Roland Burris you learned via The Huffington Post.
Burris is just a tool perpetrated by the man....
ReplyDeleteanon 9.26 has whitedar, field...
ReplyDeleteHE KNOWS YOUR SECRET!!! lol.
Hi FN,
ReplyDeleteOnce Mr. Burris is ALLOWED into the Senate, and he will be, he should pull a Joe Lieberman on those dimwitted Democrats and become an Independent.
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/34052
ReplyDeleteSometimes irony is way too ironic. The Senate, an ethical wasteland that would put any whorehouse to shame, sits in judgement and calls someone "tainted". How rich!
ReplyDeleteLet Senator-select Burris sit his colorful ass down in that staid gray body and be the fly in the bucket of milk. I only wish that Mr. Blago had sent Don King to play the role of senatorial token, but it looks like he got the next best candidate.
Speaking of Senate ethics...I'm watching c-span around 6 pm tonight and there is Joe Fucking Lieberman trying to link Hamas with Iran while making the case that Obama will be better off if Israel's ethnic cleansing continues full bore for a few more weeks. Or until the Gaza is completely de-populated. Then I switch to MSNBC and there is Evan Fucking Bayh being asked about the dozens of Palestinian civilians being turned into a fine pink mist by our taxpayer-supported missiles. His response is that casualties are bad on both sides, why just today some Israeli soldiers were hit by friendly fire. What the fuck? When did my government assume I was too deaf, dumb and blind to realize they have been completely hijacked by the AIPAC lobbyists?
ReplyDeleteI keep on saying it, but oh well.
ReplyDeleteBlago isn't the convicted Governor.
Or the impeached Governor.
Or even the indicted Governor.
He made a LEGAL appointment.
There was the opportunity for there to be a SPECIAL ELECTION.
But Reid and Speaker of the House Michael Madigan thought they would be SLICK.
And now, they are STUCK.
It's a legal appointment, and either we are a country of laws AGAIN after the last 8 years..
or we are not.
There is no in between.
And yes, I'm Black enough to believe that if Blago had chosen someone NOT Black, that none of this nonsense would be happening.
Who fired the first shot in the conflict, Israel or Hamas?
ReplyDeleteHamas started this. They purchased the ticket. Now, they must watch the entire show.
I agree with anon, no black person likes the police. who would even right some crap like that? the police are constantly killing unarmed black men. No black person loves the hood because of the police. why even state your cousins like drama? non blacks don't have drama? I started to read this blog more infrequently and now I think I'm done. tired of all the black and white, when are we just going to be human?
ReplyDelete"And he should have probably turned down the damn appointment to begin with."
ReplyDeleteHere we go again. From what I've read, Burris approached Blago about the appointment.
There's something sad about all these black people absolutely needing to believe that this is exclusively about Burris being "used".
Here is the documentation that Burris' law firm mailed to Harry Reid prior to his arrival:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.politico.com/static/PPM116_letter_1_2_09a.html
My take is that he had to commit to the action of trying to be seated so that he could have a tangible argument to the Illinois supreme court.
I still hold Harry Reid accountable for this mess because 1) he should have never made so many calls to "Blago Le Pew" expressing who he didn't want nominated. 2) He was only grandstanding for the GOP 3) He should have said all along that it would be a proper certification issue vs the constitution supports the senate blockage on this matter.
If Burris is guilty of anything, it is not declaring that he is untainted because he's not one of the listed candidates.
Dumbocrats (funny) should be very thankful that "Blago Le Pew" did not pick and idiot candidate. At least Burris is intelligent and has a clue about the law and what will be good for the people.
I wrote 10 senators on Sunday expressing my discontent with this unnecessary attention. The meeting between Burris and Reid should have taken place on Monday not Wednesday (tomorrow).
I'm done.. Ciao!!
As I have said before the Congress and House are a bunch of bureaucratic whores. A prostitute has something of perceived value, a bureaucratic whore has nothing.
ReplyDeleteThe role of a state's secretary of state is to confirm statewide election results. His signature finalizes an election because it states that all ballots are counted and all legal challenges are answered. Without that confirmation, then the results are not valid.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what's happening in Minnesota with Franken. He won the election, but he won't be an official Senator until the MN Secretary of State confirms it. And, with Coleman's lawyers on the case, it might take a while.
Burris knew full well that the Illinois Secretary of State did not confirm his appointment. Why? Because there is a LEGAL problem with the appointing authority - namely a governor on bail for Federal corruption charges.
It has nothing to do with the fact that Burris is black. If he was White, Asian, Latino, or Martian, the results would've been the same. No confirmation - no official appointment.
Now, I believe that, once the Lt Gov. takes over, he will appoint Burris, the SoS will confirm it, and Burris will be the junior senator from Illinois.
As a true HN, Burris created this ridiculous drama today.
"Burris knew full well that the Illinois Secretary of State did not confirm his appointment. Why? Because there is a LEGAL problem with the appointing authority - namely a governor on bail for Federal corruption charges."
ReplyDeleteWell, no. The SOS didn't sign the paper because Harry Reid told him not to. Besides...
"A spokesman for Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White (D) confirmed to Election Central that White knows he does not truly have the authority to stop the appointment of Roland Burris to the Senate, but he withheld his signature from it earlier today in order to make a statement. But the door does appear to be open to some legal ramifications."
"His feeling is we studied the constitution of Illinois, we looked at the statutes, and there was nothing there that said he had to sign the paperwork," said David Druker, White's press secretary.
"We don't believe he has the authority to hold up the appointment or veto it, to put it that way," Druker added. "How the U.S. Senate views the action, that would be for the U.S. Senate to determine."
"As for whether the lack of a signature on Burris' certificate of appointment would be a real basis for the Senate to hold an investigation and delay seating Burris, Druker said he was deferring any of those legal questions to the Senate itself."
That's the office of the Illinois SoS admitting that they KNOW they don't have the authority to invalidate the appointment.
Well, no. The SOS didn't sign the paper because Harry Reid told him not to.
ReplyDeleteHarry Reid doesn't want Burris to invade their all white boy club!
I pray that BURRIS get's the SENATE SEAT, so he can go some place and allow BARACK to have a easy transition, BURRIS is suppose to be a CHRISTIAN, well I refuse to believe that GOD wanted BURRIS to add fuel to the FLAME, it is not about the SENATE seat at this point, this is about BLACK MEN, LAWYER'S, CLERGY MEN and all the rest of the AFRICAN AMERICAN people, that are willing to over look the fact that BARACK need's the BLACK COMMUNITY to have his BACK!! but,oh no, not so, we had to jump on the band wagon, so I PRAY that BURRIS get's that SENATE seat, and I PRAY that, I never have to hear his NAME again!!!! so REID, for my sake, please give BURRIS that seat, because if not, some BLACK people may just RIOT on JANUARY the 20th!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know who doesn't love po po drama? Folks that work all day, come home, & just want to have supper, some peace & quiet, relax, watch TV & go to bed because they're tired. & the more people like that you have in a neighborhood, the less you see the cops.
ReplyDelete@anon 1133 pm...
ReplyDelete"Hamas started this. They purchased the ticket. Now, they must watch the entire show."
Hamas wants everyone to see this exact show, which is pictures of Israel killing lots of civilians. My question to you is why is Israel so willing to give them the show they want?
Hey there Field Negro,
ReplyDeleteI am not sure WHY all of the black blogs that I visit are screaming racism... what is RACIST about Burris not reading the fine print and having his paperwork together?
Why is it that when we show up unprepared and no one will bend the rules for us, THAT MEANS "racism" is the culprit?
Please.
We need to read the fine print, know the darn rules and bring our behinds to the table with our stuff together. No excuses.
Hmmmmmph.
Thanks for covering this story.
Peace, blesssings and DUNAMIS!
Lisa
Until the Governor is stripped of his duties, the appointment stands.
ReplyDeleteThis circus is a disgrace.
"It's a legal appointment, and either we are a country of laws AGAIN after the last 8 years..
ReplyDeleteor we are not.
There is no in between."
This is an excellent point. Constitutionally I don't see that the US Senate has the authority to refuse to seat Burris. In the 1969 Supreme Court case Powell v. McCormack the Court ruled that the Congress "in judging the qualifications of its members, Congress is limited to the standing qualifications [age, citizenship and residency] prescribed in the Constitution"
Burris meets those criteria. So the US Senate has no constitutional means to prevent him from taking his seat.
The governor of Illinois maintains the authority to appoint a replacement. Because his integrity is in question does not mean he loses his legally granted authorities just as an impeached President Clinton didn't lose Presidential authority.
There is no requirement under Illinois law, Senate rules, state constitution or federal constitution that the Illinois Secretary of State sign off on the governor's pick. The Secretary of State does not have veto power. The executive maintains sole power over who to appoint.
The fact that some may think that Burris is eccentric or politically damaging or whatever is completely and totally irrelevant to the constitutional question.
The man should be seated and people should move on.
Ernesto:
ReplyDeleteHamas wants everyone to see this exact show, which is pictures of Israel killing lots of civilians. My question to you is why is Israel so willing to give them the show they want?
Israel is not willing. They are reluctant.
How many incoming rockets should they tolerate?
If your neighbor were firing bullets into your home, how many bullets would you accept in order to keep the peace?
There's one possible positive: If Israel wipe Hamas off the face of this earth, that is one less troublemaker with whom they must contend.
If the aforementioned comes to fruition, I say good riddance.
"..My point is that some black folks love drama."
ReplyDeletebean twn chica, read that quote again. And don't leave out the part that says, SOME!
nyc/caribbean, we agree on one thing: this "circus is a disgrace".
After the elation and euphoria of electing the first black president the last thing we need is this mintrel show.
ReplyDeleteSorry but Burris looks like a begging fool. He should never had accepted the appointment from damaged goods Blagojevich.
Jesse Jackson Jr. hasn't helped himself here either.
Secretary of State Jesse White come off like a house negro doing massa's bidding.
Bobby Rush is yelling "racism".
Harry Reid doesn't want any black Illinois politician to be appointed to Obama's (a black Illinois politician) seat because he doesn't think they're "electable".
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Two of the last three black post-Reconstruction Senators came from the state of Illinois. And Reid believes a black candidate for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat is not electable? Is he stupid?
ReplyDeleteYes, SOS White is coming across as a house negro. I glad I am not the only one who sees this.
One other thing, I am not crazy about Burris. In fact, I find part of him detestable.
ReplyDeleteWhen he was the Illnois AG, he refused to acknowledge prosecutorial wrong-doing in the prosecution of Rolando Cruz. In a nutshell, Cruz was falsely accused and railroaded by the prosecution which resulted in him spending 11 years on death row.
Yeah, Burris has a little bit of house negro in him.
Have a feeling there is going to be a "regime change" in the Senate and House this time around.
ReplyDeleteReid, and his counterpart Pelosi in the House have done a miserable job the last 2 years.
There is no legal or Constitutional reason Burris should not be seated...
Immediately.
Time for Reid to go.
Whassup BT
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Hell Yeah...Time for Reid to go!
ReplyDeleteMSNBC Reporting:
The Illnois SoS Says His Signature Not Needed To Seat Burris. And that he is being used by the Senate as the fall guy.
OMG his tombstone. I am suprised that it does not include a line like "Roland begat Roland Junior and Rolanda."
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year FN. Sorry I been absent. Your first paragraph still has me chuckling.
Oh and I hold you partially responsible for the fact I have a date with the LSAT in February. Ugh....
Happy New Year, Steve!
ReplyDeleteWaiting for that economic stimulus package to kick in...
Whenever that is.
This "economic collapse" thing isn't only destroying financial institutions here - it's cascading around the world.
Check today's news on India's "Enron", Satyam - and who was supposedly "auditing" their books...
Shades of Arther Anderson...
With some potentially damaging ramifications to some major US companies.
Yet these damn fools want to waste time and energy over whether some legally appointed dude gets a seat...
These MoFos don't "Get it"...
Maybe next election might be time to thow all these old barstids out...
And start fresh.

ReplyDeleteWhat I'm REALLY hoping is that Obama concentrates on being a leader and a changer and not an accomodationist.
He needs to pull both Reid and Pelosi into a room ASAP and chew their sorry asses out.
"The HNIC is in the house!"
Yeah - Maybe I'm missing something...
ReplyDeleteBut isn't this the same Harry Reid who sucked Rethugly weenie in 2000 in allowing the illegitimate Bushit to assume office in the first place?
Isn't this the same Harry Reid, who dropped his drawers and bent over for the Rethuglys in the illegitimate selection of 2004?
Isn't this the same Harry Reid who has kissed Bushit ass on demand who couldn't find a single reason to Impeach, try, or convict a single member of the most corrupt Administration in American history?
James Brown had a line -
"I may not know Karate...
But I know K-Razor"
Time for Obama to cut off whatever gonads Harry thinks he grew in the last month or so.
According to talkingpointsmemo, they're going to seat him now.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah some black people love drama, but not particularly unique compared to other cultures. Drama queen is a popular term amongst white people as well
MR FN, OFF TOPIC
ReplyDeleteHave you see the video from Oakland of a young 22 BM shot by the police? I saw it yesterday, unbelievable! Hey and no mass media coverage nor Field coverage either. http://www.blackvoices.com/blogs/2009/01/05/video-cop-killing-handcuffed-man/2#comments

OKAY, ya'll. 538.com has legal arguments for both sides, that the Senate has to seat Burris and that they don't.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I side on the "has to seat" side. But for the dignity of the office, and the suspicion of "illegal to the point of stupidity" conduct, the Senate has the right to remove any member of their body.
Which is what should actually happen to Burris. Let him sit, and then vote him out.
Because this would look awfully silly to all the non constitutional scholars out there -- they're cutting a few corners and hoping that the courts cut them some slack.
re: I/P Gaza
ReplyDeleteIsrael started it by invading Gaza to destroy tunnels over the summer. Certain radical elements of Hamas decided to shoot rockets (very inaccurate rockets, one in 500 hits something, I might add) back into Israel.
Tzivi is trying to win an election by bombing Gaza, invading Gaza.
Yes, Hamas stands to gain by this, but so does Israel -- gaining someone who Obama can work with into a decent peace.
It's all a fucking idiotic stupid thing for Israel to be doing.
Yes they got the right to defend themselves.
But CHRIST on a pogostick! 20 Israelis dead, over 500 Palestinians? Anyone can tell that something's wrong in that picture!
I think Bush may be behind the whole thing, covertly just like he was behind the whole Lebanese conflict.
anon 539 am: "There's one possible positive: If Israel wipe Hamas off the face of this earth, that is one less troublemaker with whom they must contend."
ReplyDeleteAnd Hamas says Israel needs to be wiped off the face of the earth because they are usurpers of Palestinian land. And so it goes. The Israeli government are indiscriminatley killing civilians because they know they can get away with it since they own the U.S. government.
RisingTide: "But CHRIST on a pogostick! 20 Israelis dead, over 500 Palestinians? Anyone can tell that something's wrong in that picture!"
Call me anti-semitic, but my perception is that the Israeli government feels that one Jewish life is worth more than 100 Palestinian lives. I have seen this 100:1 ratio in every conflict since Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982. This type of military action, akin to killing mosquitoes with a shotgun, has been a staple of Israeli military policy since Ariel Sharon pioneered it back then. It is disgusting and will only hurt Israel in the long run. Water carriers for Israel in the U.S. government like Lieberman do not seem to realize this. And the pro-Israel, pro-genocide coverage in the MSM is absolutely disgusting.
Personally, I blame Roland for all of this mess. He should have made sure that all of his stuff was together before he headed to Washington. And he should have probably turned down the damn appointment to begin with.

ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6wl_86qnsI
No minorities in the Senate would be politically incorrect, so Burris may be appointed to keep the peace. I'm really indifferent to this drama anyways because one negro can't speak for all negros and other minorities. The bottomline is that we need more people of color to step up and run for office if they, whom every ther are, feel so inclined to see more people of color in office. Otherwise, stop whining about it. It's not the end of my world if the Senate is all white.
ReplyDelete"No minorities in the Senate would be politically incorrect."
ReplyDeleteIt's been that way for most of this nation's history.
Is that air you're breathing?
Sam Stein/Huffington Post/HuffPo commentors seem to have a hard on for Burris. What's up with that?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/07/burris-jimmy-carter-wants_n_155976.html
I don't respect the way Burris has gone about this. The reality is another black man was offered the appointment by Blago first but turned it down, not because he didn't want it, but he knows this corruption thing needs to be sorted out first. Burris's manipulative use of racially charged language makes me really, really doubt he has the integrity everyone says he does.

There were 3 primary reasons that Roland Burris won the right to his senate seat. The law was on his side, The scene on capitol hill with Burris turned away, and the rallying of Black civic society to Burris in the last 72 hours to seat Burris. First, as Burris as ably noted the law was on his side with the appointment by Gov. Blago. Blago is a politically destestable figure, but Harry Reid politically overplayed his hand when he attempted to deny Burris the seat, and Reid was not helped by the comments he made about other potential Black candidates. Second, the media frenzy surrounding the rejection of Burris on Capitol hill signalled the beginning of the end when Diane Feinstein, Chair of the Rules Committee signalled that Burris should be seated. Finally, the rough rhetoric of Bobby Rush, grating to the ears, began to rally African American civic society to push for the seating of Burris. Today, led by Rush, the Black Caucus, and other major civic organizations like Alpha Phi Alpha supported the Burris appointment. In conclusion, once again, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and the fight for Burris signalled there are issues the Black political community will fight for despite the wishes of Barack Obama.
field,
ReplyDeletemay i ask you a question? dont you feel used by the govenor of illinois. he hand picked a black man to fill obamas seat to stick it to us senate, his state, and us attorneys. he knew he could appoint burris and the senate would have to take him. if not they would look like racist. it was a brilliant move. why are blacks not outraged. this use of race is dispicable. an appointmnet should be only based on merit not skin color. dr king would be upset. what is your take on this matter
Anon: 8:32 p.m.
ReplyDeleteIt always makes me laugh when people purport to know what would upset Dr. King.
The Senate has to take Burris, not because he's black, but because he has been legally appointed by the Governor. There are many things that we don't like but are not illegal. So far, Blago has not even been indicted let alone convicted.
At least Burris is qualified and there is not even a hint that he paid for the seat. I feel much better about this selection, than I do about the possible selection of Caroline Kennedy to be Senator from N YC.
How can whites (or anybody) not be outraged by this use of privilege?
anon 8:32
ReplyDeleteDamn Right
Harry Reid got called on his bluff. Blagojevich went straight up gangsta on him!
ReplyDeleteBWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I am disgusted with Sen Reid for illegally blocking Mr Burris. He has no legal ground to keep him out and is making the Dems look even more feckless and castrated than they usually look. And for God's sake-Please do not let Bobby Rush speak anymor!. I see 200 years of Black progress go down the toilet everytime he attempts to formulate a sentence.
ReplyDeleteAnon.8:32PM, I think the other anon. answered your question. I mean the guy does have a law degree and a couple of PhD's, and he was the AG of a very large state. Now girl Kennedy on the other hand.....
ReplyDeleteSo no, I don't feel played. I think Harry Reid and co. should be the ones feeling played right about now.

ReplyDelete"Hamas does have ties to Iran."
Well that's bad news for Israel because when they are through destroying all the infrastructure there, including schools and hospitals, then Iran will play a large part in REBUILDING them, which will grow their influence in the region even more, just as it has done in Lebanon. All because of a short-sighted uberviolent policy whose only purpose is for short term electoral gain by whatever thug is up for election in Israel at the time.
