I want to thank my Afrosphere fam, Rock, of African American Political Pundit, for hipping me to the following story. And Howard Witt, one of the best and most fearless reporters in A-merry-ca, for breaking it. (Witt was the man primarily responsible for exposing the corrupt DA in Jena)
"HOMER, La.—On the last afternoon of his life, Bernard Monroe was hosting a cookout for family and friends in front of his dilapidated home on Adams Street in this small northern Louisiana town. Throat cancer had robbed the 73-year-old retired electric utility worker of his voice years ago, but family members said Monroe was clearly enjoying the commotion of a dozen of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren cavorting around him in the dusty, grassless yard. Then the Homer police showed up, two white officers whose arrival caused the participants at the black family gathering to quickly fall silent.Within moments, Monroe lay dead, shot by one of the officers as his family looked on.
Now the Louisiana State Police, the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department are swarming over this impoverished lumber town of 3,800, drawn by the allegations of numerous witnesses that police killed an unarmed, elderly black man without justification—and then moved a gun to make it look like the man had been holding it."We are closely monitoring the events in Homer," said Donald Washington, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Louisiana. "I understand that a number of allegations are being made that, if true, would be serious enough for us to follow up on very quickly."Yet the Feb. 20 Homer incident was not an isolated case. Across the nation, in four cases in recent months, white police officers have been accused of unprovoked shootings of African Americans in what civil rights leaders say are illustrations of the potentially deadly consequences of racial profiling by police.
In the mostly white Houston suburb of Bellaire, a 23-year-old black man sitting in his own SUV in the driveway of his parents' home was shot and wounded on New Year's Eve by police who mistakenly believed he had stolen the vehicle. The case is under investigation. In Oakland, a transit police officer has been charged with murder for allegedly shooting an unarmed black man in the back while he was restrained and lying face down on a train platform on New Year's Day. In New Orleans, nine police officers are under investigation in the New Year's Day death of a 22-year-old black man who was struck by 14 bullets after an undercover team stopped his car. The police say the man raised a gun and fired at them, but the man's family disputes that."All the anecdotal information demonstrates that African Americans are the most frequent victims of zealous, inappropriate police activity that often winds up in a shooting," said Reggie Shuford, a senior attorney with the racial justice program at the American Civil Liberties Union. "It's a shoot first, ask questions later approach to policing."The evidence is not merely anecdotal. The most recent national analysis from the Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Statistics shows that blacks and Hispanics were nearly three times as likely as whites to be searched by police—and blacks were almost four times as likely as whites to be subjected to the use of force.
Psychologists are stepping up research into the implicit, unconscious racial biases that may be driving such statistics and affecting police behavior."If in fact police have implicit biases—if they automatically associate blacks with crime—then that would be relevant to an officer in a split-second, shoot-or-don't-shoot situation," said Lorie Fridell, a criminology professor at the University of South Florida who is creating a new anti-bias police training program with funding from the Justice Department. "Is the officer more inclined to believe he sees a gun in the hand of a black person, rather than a cell phone? I think that is possible."In Monroe's case, friends and family members say they still don't understand why the beloved neighborhood patriarch ended up dead. Four witnesses told the Tribune that Monroe was sitting outside his home in the late afternoon of Feb. 20, clutching a large sports-drink bottle, when two police officers pulled up and summoned Monroe's son, Shawn, for a conversation. Shawn Monroe has a long record of arrests and convictions for assault and battery, and even though he was not wanted on any current warrants, he took off running into the house. One of the officers, a new hire named Tim Cox who had been on Homer's police force for only a few weeks, chased after him, reappearing moments later in the doorway. Meanwhile, the witnesses said, the elder Monroe had started walking toward the front door, carrying only his drink bottle, to try to intervene. When Monroe got to the first step on the front porch, the witnesses said, Cox opened fire, striking him several times as adults and children stood nearby."He just shot him through the screen door," said Denise Nicholson, a family friend who said she was standing a few feet from Monroe. "After [Monroe] was on the ground, we kept asking the officer to call an ambulance, but all he did was get on his radio and say, 'Officer in distress.' "As Monroe lay dying, the witnesses said, the second police officer, who has not been publicly identified, picked up a handgun that Monroe, an avid hunter, always kept in plain sight on the porch for protection. Using a police-issue blue latex glove, the officer grasped the gun by its handle, the witnesses said, and then ordered everyone to back away from the scene. The next thing they said they saw was the gun on the ground next to Monroe's body."I saw him pick up the gun off the porch," said Marcus Frazier, another witness. "I said, 'What are you doing?' The cop told me, 'Shut the hell up, you don't know what you're talking about.' "
The Homer police maintain that Monroe was holding a loaded gun when he was shot, but they are not commenting further on the case. At least one fact surrounding the shooting is not in dispute: It took place amid long-standing tensions between Homer police and the residents of Monroe's crime-plagued black neighborhood."People here are afraid of the police," said Terry Willis, vice president of the Homer NAACP branch. "They harass black people, they stop people for no reason and rough them up without charging them with anything."'
Oh field, you are such a racism chaser. If the man's grandson wasn't such a bad ass he would be alive today. Come on field, he lived in a bad neighborhood, what are good decent law enforcement folks supposed to do? Yeah I know he was supposed to be 73, but you know how you black people always look younger than your age. What is that saying? "Black don't crack".
"If I see three or four young black men walking down the street, I have to stop them and check their names," said Mills, who is white. "I want them to be afraid every time they see the police that they might get arrested. We're not out there trying to abuse and harass people—we're trying to protect the law-abiding citizens locked behind their doors in fear."
Yeah okay there officer, if you say so. Seriously, most of you know that I defend the boyz in blue who protect honest law abiding citizens in cities like Philadelphia. To me, they are the best protection I have against the scumbags who would bring harm to me or my property. And I mourn with the rest of the community when one of them is killed in the line of duty. Most police officers are good decent people. But just like society at large, there are ignorant knuckle dragging racist in their ranks, and these individuals should be weeded out. If they are not, Howard Witt is going to be a very busy man for many years to come.
This sh*t is so evil.
ReplyDeleteYou wanna take odds that the new cop doesn't do any jail time?
"But just like society at large, there are ignorant knuckle dragging racist in their ranks, and these individuals should be weeded out. If they are not, Howard Witt is going to be a very busy man for many years to come."
ReplyDeleteHoward Witt is going to be a very busy man for the rest of his life. Racism is part of A-merry-ca and that won't change anytime soon. It is the blood of A-merry-ca's arteries. As long as Blacks and Whites identify themselves by race and color, racism will continue to thrive.
With Obama as President, Whites will feel the need to kill more Blacks. Prepare for an increase in murders of Blacks by white policemen. We are in very dangerous times.
I concur. I'm afraid we might have another Rodney King situation here in Cali one of these days.
ReplyDeleteLook to Cincinnati for a possible solution.
ReplyDeleteThe Federal lawsuit that brought about the anti-profiling Collaborative Agreement is a blueprint for Black folk everywhere.
Google it and see what was done.
Mad Professah, I know a little bit about U.S. Atty Washington, and let's just say he isn't out here in the fields with us. So I am afraid you might be right.
ReplyDeleteR.J., Cali can't afford ($) another riot like the one that broke out after the King verdict, so for your sake (and all the folks in Cali) I hope you are wrong.
Field, as you well know every day even so called "good" cops go into court rooms and lie their asses off. Its called testilying... That is one little cut in a thousand little cuts that perpetrates the mind set that the black community is the war zone and that blacks are the enemy.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are trained to this mindset. The statement of the cop who said he rousts young black men as a part of his regular "law enforcement" says it all.
There needs to be a radically different approach towards law enforcement and some serious education for the police about ALL citizens they are supposed to be protecting.
These cops in LA need to be prosecuted. period. Let's see if that is what happens... I am not holding my breath.
Certain white people have run this country into the ground, but these cave bastards in blue are still using Black people as target practice, as if Black people are the mortal enemy. I can not shed any tears every time i hear about one of these pig bastards (sometimes non-white) blown away, and I am related to a retired police officer.
ReplyDeleteBut just like society at large, there are ignorant knuckle dragging racist in their ranks, and these individuals should be weeded out. If they are not, Howard Witt is going to be a very busy man for many years to come."
ReplyDeleteWhen are you blacks gonna wake up?Anyone that even wants to be a police officer tells you why they are there.Manhood issues exposed, these guys are pieces of shit.& most are back from illegal wars, damaged SO CALLED goods, out on our streets to protect,& thats what they do,protect white priviledge & enforce white supremacy!it ia a fucking gang"bluer than yours, boys on the hood, how many more will they kill before YOU realize we are not free & democracy means hypocraSY,YOU NIGGERS ARE AS DUMB AS THE WHITES WHOM SIT ON THE SIDE LINES & say nothing!
like the man said,Fucking coward all ya's!
33 & 1/3 real talk!
Another story in the news recently is that of 12-year-old Dymond Milburn, a black child who was beaten by 4 plainclothes police officers in Galveston TX. They had been sent out in response to a phoned in complaint about 3 white prostitutes soliciting in the neighborhood. Dymond was hospitalized and then later arrested at school for "assaulting a police officer."
ReplyDeletehttp://boingboing.net/2009/02/09/final-arguments-in-t.html
Dymond and her family (her father was also arrested) are now suing the Galveston Police.

It is just sad, that in 2009, if you are black, and, also Latino in certain parts of this country, you have to fear the police more than the two bit thugs that terrorize neighborhoods, and, that Mills guy should have the fed's investigate his lame, racist butt.
ReplyDeleteDOH!!!
ReplyDeleteThis story could almost be a sketch from Chappelle's Show or something like that, its so crazy - I mean, if it wasn't in the newspaper I'd swear it was made up. Not that I don't think that racist police violence occurs, but this incident is so blatant and so extreme, its almost inconceivable that it still happens in a supposedly modern and civilized nation.
ReplyDeleteAnd we actually PAY these so called officers to do this to our citizens. This is just sick. Unfortunately with the economy in the tank and Obama as President, I expect to see an increase in killing and harassment of people of color. I'm would venture to guess that many of these "officers" listen to hate radio all day as well which only adds to this country's problems.
ReplyDeleteThe insidious and ironic notion worming its way into the calculation is that the thugs and knuckledraggers and "don't snitch" clowns in our communities provide inadvertent cover for the knuckledraggers among the cops, and blissfully ignorant in communities like Bellaire, etc.
ReplyDeletePS Field, I paid "homage" to actor and GOP wingnut Ron Silver on my blog...
This is how it has always been. What changed?

'Officer in distress.' "
ReplyDeleteHe's in distress? He's in distress? He just shot a guy and the realtives didn't pounce on him but he's saying he's in distress?
There are situations in black neighborhoods that are very difficult for white cops to "read" correctly unless they are very experienced & able to see through the tension created just by their presence. Good urban police depts at least understand this, even if it doesn't always translate into wisdom out in the field. Homer is 60% black. Think 60% of the cope are black?
ReplyDelete...the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department are swarming over this impoverished lumber town of 3,800, drawn by the allegations of numerous witnesses that police killed an unarmed, elderly black man without justification.
ReplyDeleteLike I said before, never, ever, trust the cops.
The police are the true, protected class in Murika, and God damn it, they're free to prey on Murikans the way hyenas prey on wildebeests.
What a shame this elderly gentleman didn't have a gun so he could've sunk a bullet in the cops' forehead and dropped them like the human garbage they are.
Eurasian....don't be surprised. If Witt didn't write about this story we wouldn't have heard about it. Crap like this goes on everyday. Most times it doesn't lead to death, but I have spent enough time in small Southern towns (Mrs. Field is from a small town in Southern La.) to know that this is not unusual for these small town cops.
ReplyDeleteWe just have to remain vigilant, even if we take the risk of being called "racism chasers".
Yes, folks that’s right all of us mean old police are racist bastards just like Ms. Christopher says we all need a bullet in the head! Like someone said a few days ago we should all generalize people you know all black women are welfare queens all black men are criminals and all gay men are hair dressers.
ReplyDeleteFunny I thought that what we were fighting against?
I’ve got a real original idea!!! Stop calling them and put them out of business……PEACE
Anonymous, You're very luck Field allows anonymous comments on his blog. Most bloggers don't because eventually, douchebag trolls like you end up driving away decent, informed people who want to express their opinion and traffic takes a hit. This is how pitiful and pathetic you are and it's the only power you will ever be able to claim: troll.
ReplyDelete@anon... let me ask you something.... if you were on that police force, would you maintain silence? Would you publicly speak out when a fellow officer willfully and deliberately shoots someone?, beats someone?, harrasses someone?, lies on the stand about someone? Are you a part of the Big Blue Wall?
ReplyDeleteYou see, the "dont snitch" mindset plays on both sides of the street and on BOTH sides of the street, it just perpetuates the injustice and violence.
"Decent,Informed People" who advocate murdering Policemen.. Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org. The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are - Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.
ReplyDeleteWith the anger and rage that is being exhibited against A.I.G., perhaps the bonuses Obama received from A.I.G. explain Obama's A.I.G crocodile tears.
Now that the Wall street Journal has revealed that A.I.G. paid bonuses of $1 million or more to 73 employees, it's time to ask if recipients of A.I.G. "bonuses," including President Obama, will give what now ought to be taxpayer money back?

ReplyDeleteWhoah Chris, I thought I was the only bitter one.
My question is will Obama ever, ever, ever address this issue in any way shape or form?
This is from the LA Times: "Conservatives invoke Obama in Voting Rights Act challenge
ReplyDeleteThey say his election as president is the sign of a colorblind society that doesn't need safeguards for minorities. Civil rights advocates disagree, pointing to other voting patterns.I think this situation is related to the overall pattern that is happening throughout the country.
I thought the righties and their black flunkies say that whenever there is a white on black killing it becomes front page news.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I'm hearing of this.
Field is right, this kind of shit goes on all the time.
In the immortal words of Richard Pryor............
"How long will this bull$hit go on?"
Analosity burps - "Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org."
ReplyDeleteActually the majority of those were campaign contributions to the presidential race, most of which were divided evenly between Obama and McCain, who received over $97,000.
While significant, the AIG donations pale in comparison to those of the biggest sources of campaign cash — AT&T and the Association of Federal, State and County Employees, which each gave four times as much as AIG did to federal officeholders over the last 20 years. Indeed - AIG was rated No. 79 on the Top All-Time Donors list from the Center for Responsive Politics.
Insofar as Congress passing a "special tax" bill - I think that won't pass the 14th amendment sniff test in the courts, not to mention violating the "ex post-facto" prohibition in the Constitution. But I don't claim to be a lawyer, and may not be correct in my interpretation.
Seems a more expedient way to go after the miscreants in this case is to pull whatever licenses they have to operate at the SEC Level. The issue isn't that they got paid bonuses, the issue is probable malfeasance, fiduciary irresponsibility, and poor judgement. I don't know if derivatives traders need licenses, but the rest of us do if we are trading or selling stock to the public. If there isn't a requirement to license...
Legislate one.

Limbaugh’s Favorable Rating: 19 Percent
Over the past few weeks, the White House has been casting right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh as the head of the Republican Party, and based on a new CBS News poll, it appears they may be onto something: According to the poll, Limbaugh’s favorable rating stands at just 19 percent, a full 43 points lower than President Obama’s.
Limbaugh’s unfavorable rating, meanwhile, stands at 40 percent, while 41 percent say they don’t know or don’t have an opinion. Not surprisingly, the conservative commentator, who has said he hopes that the president’s economic policies fail, is far more popular with Republicans – 47 percent view him favorably – than with Democrats, just seven percent of whom view him favorably.
The poll also found that Republicans are relatively pessimistic about the future of their party. Just 40 percent believe the party is going in the right direction, while nearly as many – 36 percent – say it is going in the wrong direction. Among all Americans, just 27 percent say the party is going in the right direction and 48 percent say it is going in the wrong direction.

Granny sitting here thinking, maybe, I should refer Frank's name to my cousin the Voodoo priest over in Haiti and tell him about all the little derogatory and demeaning remarks he makes about black people and Haiti. I'm sure cuz would hook him up real good. I'm told he is the best Voodoo priest over in Haiti and does powerful work.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...but then, I got to wondering what could be done with something that is not human and is a piece of dung. Is it possible for a piece of dung to be transformed into a human being? Maybe, an infestation of flies would work, because after all flies love dung.
It is very heartbreaking to hear about an elderly man being a victim to violence committed by a man in blue who is suppose to be protecting him and not killing him. Nevertheless, this is nothing new in black neighborhoods. It's been going on since slavery. Will it ever end, I doubt it. As long as law enforcement agencies refuse to admit that there are some problems within their department, a major clean sweep is in order, start weeding out the cops who are not mentally fit to be a cop, and that every person of color is not a criminal. I guess, if your black, it doesn't matter what age you are now, the police will kill you.or brutalize you. And folks wonder why the black community has so much lack of trust for the police.
ReplyDeleteI won't go so far as to say all of them are like that, because they are not. We have some good cops that are really a gem to their community. Too bad we don't hear about many of the good ones in the news.
FIELD NEGRO, this story is almost two week's old, they did a small segment of this story on CNN, and yes it is open season on BLACK MEN, once BARACK became PRESIDENT, the WHITE police went hunting for young black men, the truth be told, if you are a black men in AMERICA, you will pay the price for BARACK becoming the PRESIDENT!
ReplyDeleteThe PRESIDENT has to call out RACISM, and INJUSTICE in this country, he should tell ERIC HOLDER to setup a special task force, why do we need a BLACK PRESIDENT, if he's going to sit back and allow WHITE RACIST COP'S to kill his own people? this is not going to get any better! but, the PRESIDENT can at least step up and let these police know that they are being watched!
ANON:11:52 CNN reported that the PRESIDENT,, was not the only one to receive campaign contribution from AIG, BUSH did as well, so don't make it seem as if the PRESIDENT is alone!!! and of course you are trying to smear the PRESIDENT, that's why you left out the full detail's?

ReplyDeleteYou confirm what I said in my earlier comment. Obama's election won't be about the races coming together, it will be about Blacks and Whites separating further. This period in America is about increased white domination over Blacks--the inflation of white power while deflating black power.
In other words, they are saying, "in-your-face, N****rs!... and guess what? there's nothing you, the Prez, or the AIG can do about it."
Blacks have always accepted this premise because "it's nothing new". As a number of commenters have said-- the cops have always killed and abused us. The 'minor' difference this time is that they will be killing more of us.
However, Blacks and Whites are used to 'undervaluing' black lives anyway...so a few hundred more under the Democrats won't matter. We'll tolerate that, because Blacks are Democrats too!

Whelp, I guess if that is the way you think how black life should be evaluated, then the same rule could be applied to evaluating whites life. For instance, whites killing their parents and grandparents, mass murders, committing incest with their own flesh and blood, rape, dumping their babies in the dumpsters as well, and the list goes on and on. However, I'm being nice by not listing everything. Therefore, you really need to rethink this thought-->"How in the hell do you or anyone else believe anyone is suppose to value black lives when your own people throw your freaking babies in the FUCKING dumpster"

I would rather they march on Washington than to kill more Blacks. Of course, they will probably do both. In America, white racial hatred toward Blacks runs deep.

Yeah, some more could be added to that though, for instance start prosecuting those that do these things and stop trying to cover for them with a code of silence to send out a strong message that this type of behavior is not acceptable. One bad apple will spoil the whole barrel. Also, let more black cops patrol black neighborhoods and a few other things.

ReplyDelete"Everything gone work out. Its got to get worse before it gets better. The worser it gets the closer it is to getting better. Just have to put it in God's hand and trust him to bring it all to past."
God brought us out of the injustices of slavery and Jim Crow. Those were the days when the black race had a lot more faith and trust in God than they do today.
It seems that quite a few Blacks are either atheists or agnostics. Even on this blog, they seem to outnumber the believers by a substantial margin. What makes you so sure that there is enough faith among us to withstand the increased murders by Whites, white policemen, other mounting evils of racism, and black self-hatred that threaten us daily?
How can we count on God when a lot of our own people have lost faith and have turned their backs on God? I mean, I have never known God to force Himself on anyone who does not want Him in their lives. And a lot of Blacks are not interested in God. He DID give us free will to follow Him or not, didn't He?
Anonymous 11:55:
ReplyDeleteNot all on this blog are athiest and agnostics. There are some believers on here as well. Yes, God gave us a free will to follow him or not and it is definitely up to the individual whether they choose to believe or not. It's each individual's own choice. Only thing I can do for those who choose not to believe is pray for them and leave it in God's hand.
It said in his word in the last days it would be a great falling away from faith, so that shouldn't come as a surprise to you. Nor should it be a surprise to you all of the lawlessness that has taken over our land, the wars, the greed. None of it should be a surprise, it spoke about how son would be against father, father against son, daughter against mother and mother against daughter, children having their parents murdered, etc. It is all written in the bible that these things were going to happen. It even said that there would be people who would still refuse to believe and as you put it "not interested in God". I know that man will lie, but God don't.
@Anonymous 11:55
ReplyDeleteThe difference is that during slavery and Jim Crow, it was a way of communicating as well as a source of strength and protest.
The civil rights era, the faith was demonstrative out of necessity.
Passing along information for the Underground Railroad and praying.
Singing spirituals and praying.
Marching and praying.
There was a better visual during those times, if you will.
Granny is correct, the faith hasn't waned, in fact, I would hazard a guess it is stronger than ever. The visual this time, were the silent tears you saw on the faces election night.
That was faith.

Why are you trolling on a black website?
Logic sound familiar?

ReplyDeleteFor years people like you have been busy pointing a finger in black folks direction. The ulterior motive is to control black people's mind, actions, and kill their self-esteem to program them to think that they cannot or will never amount to nothing and feel ashamed of their own people, which all is another form of subtle divisiveness to keep them down and from progressing in unity.
On the other hand, people like you sing praises of your own people, while keeping hush, hush about the corruption and bad things done by some of your own people that are similar to what you like to point a finger about, magnify, and highlight in black people. The only difference is when your people do it, they are considered angels that made a mistake while in the same breath you label the black race corrupt as a WHOLE enforcing a negative stereotype of black people that is not true around the world.
Whites voice negative things, derogatory remarks, racial stereotypes in public on air with no repercussions. In addition, they criticize black folks like their under a microscope. When they do this, other whites run to their defense and come up with every accuse in the book for them. They pretty much say whatever they want to say and that's okay as far as they are concerned and shows and outright blatant disrespect of black people as their fellow human beings. However, let a black person do the same thing and that is when whites step in to control, ostracize, vilify, persecute, and ruin that black person's life, personality, and character. This is a subtle form of saying "stay in your place" and says that white folks feel that blacks are still not equal to whites.
We don't have black cops going around shooting innocent white people, especially, elderly white people, white women, or white kids, nor do we have grown black cops brutalizing 15 and 13 year old white girls weighing 95 pounds, and black folks buying up a bunch of guns in fear of white people behind some stupid conspiracy theory given by some ignorant jerk with bigoted views.
Where I find fault in my people is that they don't stick together and do more harm to their own race and themselves then they do to others, which they were educated to do from slavery on up to this present time. I pray that they wake up before this world ends from their slumber and get it together and learn to stand in unity as other races do.

That was faith."
I hope you are right. I don't believe Granny said that faith hasn't waned. Certainly "her" faith hasn't waned and is stronger than ever. However, faith among us does not appear to "be stronger than ever." IMO, the evidence of faith among Blacks today is 'much less' than ever before.
The visual you saw of tears at Obama's election did not necessarily mean they had faith in God....Believers as well as "non-believers" cried on that day. In fact, I would venture a guess that even David Duke cried on that day. For different reasons, of course.
I have faith in God, the Source of my existence, but I don't feel that it exists among Blacks 'as strong as before'--not like it did in the 60's or before. Something has changed and it doesn't feel good to me.
Granny's comment to me about those changes in loss of faith made sense to me. However, I didn't get the impression from her comment (to me) that faith is stronger than ever among us.

ReplyDeleteYou've become weary. Your faith does not depend on others, nor does faith only exist if all blacks have it. Your faith depends on YOU!!!! "Faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of those things not yet seen." In other words, faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Baby, yesterday, you asked me how can we count on God when a lot of our own people have lost faith? I was taken aback by that comment. I didn't want to answer it without praying about it first. Later on that night, this is what came to me to tell you.
Think back to the story of Moses. His people had lost faith too, not all of them believed and had faith. Nevertheless, he waa able to perform some mighty miracles and was instrumental in freeing his people from bondage and cruelty. Even when he performed the miracles there were people who still did not believe or have faith, but Moses did. He had faith.
"and then moved a gun to make it look like the man had been holding it."
ReplyDeleteIf he was on HIS OWN PROPERTY, he has every right be holding a gun. This is an absolutely deplorable use of force.
White people on here don't think it can't happen to you, that this is exclusive to the black community. There has been a ratcheting up of the Police State since the early 1990's, and it's only gaining momentum. They used the Katrina aftermath as dry run.
I meant to say *excuse* instead of accuse in my comments to anonymous troll. Forgive me for my error, I was in a hurry. Nevertheless, I'm sure folks understood what I was trying to say.
