Here goes another one.

When are these house Negroes going to learn that it's not cool to violate the public trust? As if Motown doesn't have enough problems, here comes Monica Conyers (The wife of congressman John Conyers) pleading guilty to conspire to take a bribe. You all know how I feel about black elected officials who get into power and give the rest of us their asses to kiss while they live high on our dime. The shit is repugnant and it is seriously house. They love money so much that they betray the very people who put them in office to get it.

This woman was the City Council President Pro Tem but she didn't act in the best interest of the people of Detroit. Instead, she acted in the best interest of a company called Synagro Technologies. Oh field how do you know that she really did it? How do you know that she wasn't set up by "the man"? Well, if she was, it was a hell of a set up, because she pleaded guilty. And the facts just don't look good. I mean, let's see now, meeting someone in a parking lot to take an envelope of cash on behalf of Synargo Technologies? Yeah, if I were her lawyer I would probably advise her to plead guilty, too. That, coupled with the fact that she suddenly switched her vote to get the company a 5-4 vote in their favor, pretty much sealed the deal for me.

So here we go again; another depressed predominantly black city, being let down by the people who are supposed to be helping the plight of the citizens within its concrete walls. But I am sure she will serve her time or pay her fine, and the citizens of Detroit will just embrace her like they did another one of their disgraced officials.

"On the sidewalk, Kilpatrick stood for a long moment amid bright television camera lights, a crush of awaiting reporters and swirling snowflakes, smiling occasionally to those in the crowd who called his name and shouted: 'We love you, Kwame! Detroit loves you, baby!"'

Maybe I shouldn't feel so sorry for the good people of Detroit. They deserve everything that they ask for.

  2. I've seen this in Jersey, when corrupt white politicians have sucked a city so dry that they abandon it as profitless, corrupt black politicians take over & find more to steal. One almost admires their resourcefulness. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Field, this woman is even worse than you can imagine. Even while knowing that she took bribes she picked fights with the city official of every suburb adjacent to the city of Detroit that will likely lose Detroit some of the national and internationl events (auto race, auto show, conventions) held here over the years.

Now, while there are some suburban city officials that need to have their a**** kicked, such a crude person as Monica should not have been the one to do, especially while doing wrong. One would think she might have flown under the radar if she had kept her big mouth closed.

There are no leaders here in Detroit, just a bunch of people looking to get paid by abusing the system. Abuses everywhere. Kwame left this city broke, in debt and a complete and total mess. City services suck. Many incompetent people polluting the city's departments. Schools suck and have 50% dropout rate. Police not patroling the streets and are likely not to come when someone is breaking into your house. Burned out houses. Some streets with only one or two liveable houses with the rest being falling down wrecks. Some streets have not had working street lights in months. Boarded up building after boardred up building that used to house viable business which have moved to the surburbs because of crimes like robbery and murder (of the owners).

But one thing we do have here are churches on every corner and one or two in the middle of the block and a few on the empty fields where houses use to stand.

The minister of these churches, as they are in most black churches, are also useless. In the old days ministers were involved in the community and motivated their flock to take care of the their families, their children, their neighborhoods and to become involved in the affairs of the community. This bunch, once they leave the confines of their churches, mega or small, just lock the doors and drive off in their fancy cars with a pocket full of pension cash to buy a new Rolex watch. After all of that bumping and jumping, shouting and stomping, the congregations do on Sunday everyone just goes back to doing whatever it is that they do while the city falls apart.

Some of us are hoping that the new mayor will clean this city up. The new president of the board of ed is trying to clean up the diaster and corruption in the school system, the like of which you could never imagine.

So I think you should feel sorry for some of us cause not all of us were out shouting 'We love you, Kwame! Detroit loves you, baby!"

This is for all of the apologits who always blame everything on the "man", the "man" did not put a gum to Monica's head. This woman has always been a disaster waiting to happen. She fought with everyone. EVERYONE.

    Yo' Field................
As a native of the Motor City, I'm appalled each time this crap comes out. In the 60's and 70's prior to my leaving the city with my work, Coleman Young was firmly in charge, breaking down many of the old, racist, mafia ties and barriers that held Black folks in check for decades.

When I first heard of Kilpatricks game-playing, I liked to have flipped out because I went to school with his mom and dad who were both folks of high integrity, even as young, aspiring, stuggling kids, who, during the riotous 60's made good.

So, yes, I'm pissed at this group of houseniggas' who have yet to learn that the whitefolk paradynm of governance is, and always will be, bullshit as it applies to folks of color!!!

Corruption knows no colour. However, when Conyers or Jefferson go down it becomes an indictment of blacks in general, if you listen to the redneck racists like dickfreak.

On the other hand, when a Blagojevich goes down, it is an individual matter and not reflective on white society as a whole.

The sad thing is that she, given the nature of politics in the good ol U. S. of A., totally undermined anything John might have accomplished. He had his own ethics problems but Monica is probably a bridge too far.

"Maybe I shouldn't feel so sorry for the good people of Detroit. They deserve everything that they ask for."

Detroit is a synonym for corruption. Corruption will grow for at least 50-100 years in that town of crooked and apathetic Blacks. By the time corruption ends, either Detroit will no longer exist, or the world will be on fire.

So Field, don't concern yourself too much with Detroit. It's over. It's like the Oakland A's and the Oakland Raiders. There is no coming back.

    Not in the text.
    Not in the labels below.

    NOT ONE DAMNED TIME.

I give you and other Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chasers credit, Filled-Negro - YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

You know the POWER of messages and this is why you hate Fox News. "Messages" and the sculpting of information is so critical to influencing opinion.

    You say:

Filled-Negro - THERE IS NOT ONE PREDOMINATELY BLACK voting district in America that has anything OTHER THAN DEMOCRATS controlling all of the key institutions that the masses of Black people look toward for civil services.

Your boy Dennis Kuchinich said it better than I ever could have about you and other BQFPRCs:

"We know that you are WORKING HARD. We just want to know WHO YOU ARE WORKING FOR."

Filled Kneegrow - will all of your attacks and molestations of people with a certain ideology. With all of your blind and unquestioned support of others who AGREE WITH YOU.

With the PAINFUL RESULTS see in your own GOD FORSAKEN CITY where BROTHER now KILLS BROTHER!!!.............WHAT FORCE are you bound to Filled Negro?

    WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?

Are you SATISFIED that you are making progress toward that end?

Beyond YOUR satisfaction - could YOU pass a TRANSPARENT INSPECTION which would PROVE that indeed what you are advocating for is in effect MOVING THE BLACK COMMUNITY TOWARD THAT END?

(It sure does seem to be empowering progressives and the Democratic party)

Do you know yourself Filled Negro?

(The sad part about it all man is that I need to do nothing more than to document your own frustrations and note your agenda. The more frustrated you are about the MURDERS, the FAILED SCHOOLS, the CORRUPT politicians - the more entrenched you get with your support for the very machine that is FAILING you.

Brother Former Marxist and Filled-Negro - thank you!!!

Before I even circled around to this blog to get your take on yet another politician that enjoyed your blind support having failed the community - MY NAME WAS REFERENCED.

I understand that you are in a state of mourning. This is but a preemptive move.

Your pain is NOT that she broke the law. Instead your pain is no different than those who saw their PARTY take a hit when Governor Sanford got busted the other day. When faced with having to maintain the INTEGRITY of their CAUSE - they instead choose to SAVE FACE.

Brother Former Maxist - this one Conyers' lady is smaller than the ENTIRE MISSION. It is best that this one rogue character be removed.

What BOTH OF YOU need to be focusing upon instead is the INTEGRITY OF YOUR FUNDAMENTAL MISSION.

How do you reconcile your INCREASED power over your institutions and the spreading degradation of the key interests of the people within?

Filled Negro - I am a BLACK MAN.
My JOB is to take care of my family as a resident father.

MY MISSION is to understand WHAT IS THE DYSFUNCTION WITH OUR PEOPLE so that I might suggest changes for the better. My METHODOLOGY is to look at YOUR PROPAGANDA blogs and those in the AfroSpear cabal in general to UNDERSTAND the slanted messages that stream to Black people without much relationship to the reality of the problems WITHIN our community.

Both you and Filled Negro would benefit greatly if you stood back, documented your PERMANENT INTERESTS. Put together a plan to TRANSPARENTLY EVALUATE those who have in power to your COMMUNITY and allow THIS to focus the majority of your focus.

You all focus more upon the FEDERAL government mostly because YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES are so unable to produce the entitlements that you desire. Thus you focus on income redistribution via the federal government as your mission.

    I am not White.
    I am not a Republican.
I AM WATCHING WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND CALLING YOU ON IT.

Like most ideological bigots - you all don't like being exposed.

The loss of a love one really hurts. There is so much that a grieving family goes through for months, even years. Death leaves hearts wounded and vulnerable. It looks like ArtMaggot is taking full advantage of the moment.

Americans are a self-centered shameless lot of people who will do anything for a joke. Funny thing, it's not very funny. It is inappropriate, and heartless, especially to families and many others who are grieving.

Nevertheless, it IS very American. The world knows that prideful-arrogant-uncaring American attitude very well.

It needs to be called out when this bull shit happens. No doubt.

    Jody:

Could you find WHERE in my post I told YOU to "Vote Republican"?

Here is where you and Filled Negro and many other Ideological Bigots are stuck.

For decades you have sold the Black community on the notion that YOUR PROGRESSIVE drug was the cure for our community and that the GOP drug would give the Black community cancer, kidney failure and tumors.

Cities like Philly, Newark, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Baltimore and DC get a near 100% DEMOCRATIC dosage of people running their key institutions as the conservative enemy runs away.

During this transition operatives in these places DID as Filled Negro DOES TODAY - actively shift the focus from the MANAGEMENT of those that YOU HAVE FREAKING PUT INTO POWER OVER YOUR INTERESTS over to the demagoguing about the fractious elements of the ENEMY that is left. The large portion of the African American community, seeking to have someone confirm their hatred against Conservatives TAKE THE BAIT. In effect operatives like Filled Negro give them the biased analysis that they desire.

ONCE ALL OF TH ENEMY CLEARS OUT - we have what we see today:

    * Yet another desperate report from the Filled-Negro propaganda blog about failing schools in Philly

    * A report that HIV infections are highest in the South AND in the Black Community. The ideological bigot who says "See the Conservative South" exposes people to HIV risks are UNABLE to explain how Blacks everywhere are ALSO at risk. The fact that we Blacks on balance REPUDIATE "conservatism" and "Abstinence Only" will NOT SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY in the arguments fielded by Filled Negro for ABOVE BOARD DEBATE FOR THE INTERESTS OF BLACK PEOPLE IS NOT HIS GOAL!!! His goal is to promote PROGRESSIVE and DEMOCRATIC interests.

Jody - all the while that you have just read my words above as a call to GO REPUBLICAN you failed to make note of one more option:

    SELF CONSCIOUSNESS, SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND LOCALISM.

So much of your face is stuck in national politics and working to strengthen the regionalism of PROGRESSIVISM for the benefit of your national power grab that you and others have FAILED to leverage your increasing local control over the key institutions over the Black community FOR THE INTERESTS OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY.

Ironically the function of more people controlling your local institutions is that their ideology and economic policies take over the area and become increasingly less able to create JOBS, maintain a tax base and thus maintain the level of government services that the people have voted for in the first place.

Your ideology requires a NATIONALIZATION of taxation upward and entitlement downward to make sure that your worst case situation never comes to be: THAT YOU ARE ALL ALONE, BY YOURSELVES, and have to look toward your ideology, economic policies and social theories to produce the societal and academic and economic order that you desire.

Jody - My debate is not "Democrat or Republican" with YOU.

It is "WHAT IS WORKING" versus "WHAT AIN'T WORKING"!!!!

Having CLEARED OUT THE ENEMY FROM YOUR MIDST the challenge for you is to decide if you will "keep trying harder at the same thing", being bound by your ideology OR will you look around into other areas that are not as AGGRIEVED as your area is and seek to TRANSPLANT the productive elements from these other places that work rather than seeking to set up a state or national structure to CONFISCATE the resources from this other area in the name of some perverted RIGHT that you have and thus, once again, masking over the NON-PRODUCTIVE capacity of your own area?

You see - YOU seek to counter my light shown upon the people that are FAILING THE BLACK COMMUNITY with 2 REPUBLICANS that are failing THEIR OWN DISTRICTS.

I realize that you can't help yourself, Brother Former Marxist - THIS is the essence of your ideology. You see this is what I have called the "Look At Who Is In The Mud With Us" type of debate for appeasement.

Its goal IS NOT to maximize the integrity, standards, honor, dignity and PERFORMANCE of the institutions that YOU have control over and which service your community. Instead, Brother Former Marxist - YOUR GOAL is to "show that OTHERS ARE IN THE MUD WITH YOU" and thus YOUR BEHAVIOR is not as bad or exceptional.

Here is the core essence of your GROSS FRAUDULENCE!!!!: Where as the "offending" Republican/Conservative/Black Conservative is labeled a SCOUNDREL for doing what you throw back, in your mental pathology you don't use this same offense done by the person that YOU favor as a point of contempt against him and grounds for his removal BY YOUR STANDARDS. Instead (and here is your perversion) you use the presence of the same flaws in others as grounds for YOUR GUY TO REMAIN.

Let's be honest with each other Brother Former Marxist - Your goal is to CANCEL DEBATE AND CRITICISM........NOT!!......to maintain any particularly high standards of integrity among your favored people who represent your interests.

I recall about 2 years ago NPR "Radio Times" which broadcasts out of Philly had a Philly Inquirer reported on the air who said that he was working on a book. It was going to be entitled "How Political Corruption Hurts The Black Community". This was in response to the common refrain that he heard from the Black community upon hearing about corrupt Black officials: "The WHITE FOLKS stole for years, why is it that the system now cares about political corruption now that Blacks are in power?"

This reporter was going to use the corruption case involving the late Ron White (a Black political insider caught up in the Street corruption case). He noted that the Black community suffered material harm in that the money spent in KICKBACKS from the contract in the Parks and Recreation Department that went into the pockets of a few connected political operatives COULD HAVE BEEN USED to keep the doors of several community centers in various Black communities that were closed due to budget constraints OPEN.

Once again we see that our community is more interested in "Fighting Whitey" than in making sure that the local funds that we HAVE CONTROL OVER is spent in a way that insures maximum benefit to all.

Brother Former Marxist I DO NOT NEED for you to show me 2 Republicans that have fallen short for the 1 Democrat that is under inspection. I am far more interested in YOU showing the evidence in which an area where YOUR IDEOLOGY is most strong and has control over the key institutions in Black America - the BLACK BEST INTERESTS are in fact ADVANCED:

    * Quality Education
    * Safe Streets
    * Thriving Local Economy
    * Healthy Lifestyles

I struggle to understand what some of you actually RECEIVING for your dedication? The painful FACTS don't appear to be enough to cause you to step back and reanalyze your purpose.

  55.
The Urban Crisis has been exacerbated by the policies of Republican administrations, especially Reagan. What economic polices have the Republicans enacted that have helped the common man in an urban area? Deregulation? Supply-side economics? Runaway defense spending?
Warner Act:

    This is laughable.

You pervert the very notion of the CITY.

These former unincorporated areas petitioned the state for a city charter BECAUSE the leaders believe that they had the human resources, industrial resources, financial resources, natural resources and cultural resources to come together as a CITY and synergize a greater outcome as a result.

They argued that if they were given the permission to collect taxes locally that they could provide municipal services to their constituencies in a more targeted manner than what the county or state could provide.

BY DEFINITION a measure of self sufficiency is incumbent with the city charter. Very much like a CORPORATION is expected to be self-sufficient.

It is ironic that you now point to the EVIL public policies of the evil national Republicans that have negatively impacted "urban America" than you are willing to express any "intellectual curiosity" and note that the REPUBLICANS WERE NOT IN CONTROL OF THESE URBAN AREAS and thus you are ONLY arguing for RESOURCE REDISTRIBUTION into this area. You effectively yield that, indeed, these places were not self sufficient as their original city charter had suggested.

Thus the real question, Warner Act, is not "What has the Republican done to help the urban man?" but instead it needs to be "What about the economic machine that has taken over these urban areas after a long struggle make them all but sustainable at the local level and thus prone to need resources that were GENERATED elsewhere, taxed by the federal government and then redistributed into these once productive areas that are now areas of acute need?".

Jimmy Carter's JOBS PROGRAM for the inner city was popular among those who received employment via this tax payer largess. It was not, however, a program that endured over time in that those who were the primary beneficiaries of the program insured that they were the primary generators of the funds used to create the jobs - as normally is the case in an ECONOMIC SYSTEM.

Sadly the conditions in Philadelphia and other places that are in a state that causes my friend Filled Negro to show dismay is STILL not powerful enough to have many of you fundamentally reconsider your assumptions. Instead you choose to TRY HARDER to make sure that no evil Republican gets back into power to TAKE YOUR FUNDS AWAY.

Can you blame us? Again, what would the rethugs have done to create jobs and give us better schools in urban A-merry-ca. I know that they would cut cut cut taxes, but what else? How would that help city services or create better public schools? I know I know, it would create a better business climate.

"It is ironic that you now point to the EVIL public policies of the evil national Republicans that have negatively impacted "urban America" than you are willing to express any "intellectual curiosity" and note that the REPUBLICANS WERE NOT IN CONTROL OF THESE URBAN AREAS and thus you are ONLY arguing for RESOURCE REDISTRIBUTION into this area. Your circular reasoning is giving me a headache. Of course we are arguing for "resource redistribution". WE NEED MORE RESOURCES IN URBAN AREAS. Something that your rethug friends are not willing to sign on to. They would much rather spend our money on National defense and give huge tax cuts to corporations.

BTW, have you ever actually read a city charter? You claim to be from Philly. Have you ever read ours? And do you know the political make up of the people who crafted it?

    Constructive Feedback,

"Are you SATISFIED that you are making progress toward that end?"

If Republicans were running Detroit what would they do different?

How would they fix the mess?

    Watch the crickets come out.

  62.
Uncoonstructive one, could you please tell us what rethugs as opposed to dumbocrats would be doing to make the plight of people in urban A-merry-ca better?
Filled Negro:

Again - I struggle to understand the LOGIC of your question.

YOU actively push a particular DRUG upon Black American and then YOU ASK ME to tell people who have NOT BEEN CURED BY WHAT YOU ARE PUSHING "Why should we take this other drug?"

I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO TAKE THIS OTHER DRUG - PUNK!!!

I am asking YOU to justify YOUR OWN "drug pushing"!!!!!!

Do you (and WhiteBowieSteve) not see that in your current disposition you are not working to implement the BEST INTERESTS within the Black community. You ONLY work to insure that the present set of characters that are failing us REMAIN in power, UNSCATHED by their failings.

  63.
WE NEED MORE RESOURCES IN URBAN AREAS.
Shabazz:

When YOU change this "We need more resources in urban areas" into the heightened consciousness that allows you to distinguish between

    * BEING IN 'RECEIPT OF' MORE RESOURCES , after someone has used the political forces to redirect RESOURCES that have been generated OUTSIDE OF YOUR AREA, into your area

    AND

    * Having the LOCAL PEOPLE aware of the RESOURCES THAT THEY NEED and thus they operate a system that can generate these resources as they have ALL WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THESE RESOURCES to also redirect their behavior to SUPPORT this RESOURCE GENERATION

then we will continue to be at odds with each other.
