"He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
~ Matthew 17:20~
I am not going to trash religion tonight. In fact, I don't like trashing religion at all. Unless, of course, someone uses religion to meet their own selfish needs. (See some of the poverty pimps we have masquerading as preachers in the ho0d.)
Personally, I am agnostic. I honestly have no clue if their is a deity or not, but I am not someone who likes to rip others because they happen to be religious. The way is see it we are all just pretty much throwing the dice and hoping for the best regardless of which side of the equation we come down on. But I do have a problem with people who are religious when they let religion stand in the way of science. I mean, if you believe in god, you have to believe that god created the scientist and gave him or her the knowledge to do what they do, right? So why turn your back on something that is proven?
Take for instance the case of Kent Schaible: The poor child was ravaged with bacterial pneumonia and and his parent never sought medical treatment for him, in spite of all the symptoms in the week leading up to his death. Now as an adult, you are free to believe whatever you want and to worship who and what you want. But when your belief system goes contrary to science and you make a decision not to treat your own two year old child, well then your ass should be charged with manslaughter. Fortunately, in the case of Kent Schaible, his parents were charged.
"After the two attorneys representing the Schaibles argued for their innocence, Municipal Judge Patrick Dugan held them for trial on charges of involuntary manslaughter, conspiracy to commit involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.
'When you look at this case, it's obvious that what you have are loving parents who also appear to be misguided,' Dugan told the couple. 'Your child needed medical care. As parents, that's what your duty is, and that's why you are here in court today.'"
'When you look at this case, it's obvious that what you have are loving parents who also appear to be misguided,' Dugan told the couple. 'Your child needed medical care. As parents, that's what your duty is, and that's why you are here in court today.'"
The Schaibles belong to First Century Gospel Church, and like a number of other churches around the country they believe in prayer not 911. There has been a lot of that going around lately: parents choosing prayer over medicine. Now I am not going to sit here and try to tell someone who believes in their creator that their faith is not a powerful thing. And, who knows, it may even move mountains. But you know what, if you have a child, give the medical professionals a shot at working their miracles as well. Hey, maybe god sent them to you.
*Pic courtesy of Philly.com
I guess people tend to forget that Luke in the bible was a physician.
ReplyDeleteField, I cosign, but the big issue is what to do. If one needs to let medical professionals do their thing, how is it that _we_ can help the childrens' caretakers choose that path? Seems like a minefield to me given our religious freedoms.
ReplyDeleteSigh. These things always amaze me. Maybe it's because I've lost my faith in religion. And also because I'm the type of mother who would eagerly sell her soul to the boogey man on the moon in his underwear, if it was to save the life of her child. Some years ago, a former high school teacher of mine lost her young daughter because the Jehovah Wickedness doesn't allow blood transfusions.
ReplyDeleteI mean people have gotten their children taken away because of dirty dishes. I don't know, in some cases this could be tricky. But generally I think these situations are borderline child negligence and endangerment, action by law should be taken or charges should be considered.
The ultimate truth to me is that parents do not own their kids. They are entrusted with their safekeeping until the child is an adult.
ReplyDeleteSo if the parents, for any reason, are not looking out for the best interests of the child then the people must step in.
One's religious beliefs do not supersede the well being of a child.
If an adult wants to forgo medical treatment because of religious beliefs then so be it but no adult should be able to make that decision for a child.
There is a difference between being a devoted follower of one's faith and being a devoted fool.
ReplyDeleteGod gave humans brains, medicine and science to help care for our prone sick bodies in this world. To think otherwise, is to perversely confuse the will of the spiritually sick human ego with the obvious Will of God- which is to get medical help for a sick child.
A+
Amen A+. That is the truth!
ReplyDeleteBTW, you were on my mind the other day. I pray that all is well with you.
Granny "BTW, you were on my mind the other day. I pray that all is well with you."
ReplyDeleteGranny, thanks for thinking of me. Yes, I am doing well and I hope life is being kind to you.
A+
It's tricky. There are some obvious cases where the medical treatment is almost 100% guaranteed to solve the issue. But there are other situations (i.e. chemo) where the medical treatment is almost as bad as the disease and may kill the patient.
ReplyDeletei hope there is court-ordered sterilization or birth control after this...doesn't sound to harsh to me.
ReplyDeletecould they not tell he was dying? they thought he was getting BETTER?

That's why we need to keep education at the forefront in this society.
ReplyDelete"could they not tell he was dying? they thought he was getting BETTER?
ReplyDeleteimage the outcry if this was done to a pet!"
Maria, you were reading my mind. :)
A+ nice to hear from you.
Shady_Grady, I agree with you, if medical treatment is not 100% full proof it is a trickier situation. But still, I am guessing the odds are still much better than prayer.
matw, along those same lines: I stringly believe in religious freedoms, but society does have an obligation to protect children who can't think for themselves.
I bet some of these very same pro-life wack jobs have no problem with letting this holy roller parents make these kind of decisions. Talk about irony.

A+ said it best. A pastor should pray that you don't have to go through treatment, but if you do they should be praying everything works out. The problem with people is that they want religion to overshadow science or the opposite when neither one answers the same question. I won't pray to Bohr for helping bring about modern physics while at the same time I won't pray to God that my car will start eventhough I haven't put gas in it. If you can't figure out simple stuff, maybe you've chosen the wrong religion.

I have to say this. I find religion a fascinating topic and always have. As a child, I always thought there more to religion than sitting in church on Sundays. Religion is a philosophy as I learned in college, and many people do not know this about me but I own the bible, qu'ran, and tanakh and still have the rigveda to obtain. I am going out on a limb, but many who attend church or other places of worship do not read their respective holy scriptures. People are complex, contradictory, and constantly dealing with inner conflict. This is life and there examples in the books of religions of complex and contradictory human beings with inner conflict. The stories in the bible are not literally true, but does not mean that there is not a lesson to learn to get you to a truth. One thing I have learned from the stories is about human nature. However, isn't that what the series House does as well? Questions of ethics and moral decisions that we face in life. Religion is not the problem people are. People are moral when it is convenient. Atheists blame religion, and believers conventiently use religion for their actions. Somehow, we never place responsibility on the actions of others.
ReplyDeleteHere is fact, life has no guarantees whether you believe in religion or science. However, one should develop a moral code. For me, I would take my child to doctor and find him or her the best medical care possible and have faith in having the strength of getting through it all. It is my moral obligation to care for my child. I could not stand by and watch a child die knowing it is preventable.
I am all for religious freedom, but that should not interfere with someone's else. Denying medical attention is not part of religious freedom and believe it should be considered as exclusionary.
Field, you know better because just as a woman as a right to an abortion, she always has the right to have a child. We cannot have force sterilization in this country. It was praticed from the 30s to the early 70s in place such as Lynchburg on the people who were deemed inadequate. Do you really want the court to make that decision? Unfortuantely, there is no license for partenthood and we have to deal with the way life is and how it aught to be. That is a lesson everyone could believers and nonbelievers alike. We also do not live in the moment. People either live too much in the past or what will be in the future, but the here and now is just too taxing for people. The parents of their dead child do not cope very well with everyday life. These parents do not fathom the consequences of their actions because allowed their blind belief get in the way of life if that makes any sense.
I also have another secret, I pray from time to time. I do not pray to make life better, but the strength to get my through it. Bad things happen like grandma dying, mom getting breast cancer living with for 11 years and dying from disease 9 years ago. Life does get tough and beats up badly, but perhaps believing something greater than you is not necessarily a bad thing. On a parenthetical note: do not believe that the world is 6,000 years old or a personal God.

ReplyDeleteIsn't interesting that people love to rail about atheists and agnostics knocking their god; yet, these very same people knock atheists and agnostics all the time. At the end of the day, people still believe that non-believers will burn in the end. Ain't religion great?
Here's how non-believers are to be dealt with according the King James Bible.
ReplyDeleteIf there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded. Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

I am not an atheist. But, I have absolutely no use for any religion. Human men create all religions. Most religions are comprised of sexist, racist, xenophobic, and elitist myths.
For decades, I have written and spoken about my deep hot hatred for religious bigots. Most "Christians" are the global epitome of hypocrisies and hatreds that curse my life and torment my spirit. I despise evil sinful “holy” people who live inside churches as if they were bath houses. They are sinners who engage in so much trifling and deceit daily that they must run to churches every time the doors open.
“There is a striking irony that African-American Christians are so uncritical of Paul’s writing about homosexual activity but have maintained a critical attitude or simple rejection of Paul’s instructions on slavery.
African-American Christians, like other Christians, ‘treat so literally the references to homosexual practice in the Bible, while at the same time, they interpret biblical texts on almost every other topic with considerable flexibility and non-literalness.’

We don’t know how many mistakes there are among surviving copies [of the Bible] but they appear to number in the hundreds of thousands…there are more differences in our manuscripts than there are words in the New Testament"

Hey History D:
ReplyDeleteIs it really matter of religion or the people's use it to control others particularly when others paying attention to what is being told to them than reading anything for themselves. Just like in the crusades when the powers that be told the peasants use religion and follow a goose into a war that really were against their interests. Of course the peasants followed because they were benighted as reading and writing was not priority. Despite Guttenberg's invention the printing press, 10% of the population or less were literate. Education is dangerous because that would mean more enlightened people and less likely the powers that be can control them. Today, we have access to information via public libraries and internet and people are just as benighted like the people in the 12, 13 and 14th century. I have a friend with a master's degree in social work told me one day that if the pastor told her to vote for a candidate, or what the movie the Matrix was about she would have done it or see the movie respectively. I shake my heaad in utter amazement. The pastor gives guidance to folk, not tell them what to do. This is called intellectual laziness. It is just too taxing for people to think. So religion is not the problem per se as human being gets in the way.
Then people often gives God human qualities. We seem to think God has an ego and emotions such as anger and jealousity. We even give God a gender. Suppose God is neither male or female, but more transcendental. Suppose the goal is go beyond ego. What is our purpose in life is go beyond than what we think we are? My grandmother once said that you are saved by what you belief what I think is very profound and we are suppose to figure out what that means. We can use African myths, proverbs, folklore, etc to find the answers or more questions, this is our life's journey. I have Joseph Campbell give credit for getting me thinking about the power of myth and asking if it is still relevant. I am still asking.

Henna,
ReplyDeleteEducation is indeed the enemy of religion. Pastors, religious con men, and the Christian right abhor an educated audience; it makes them too hard to control and influence. Back when the Catholic Church had near mastery of much of Europe this played out even more. The church opposed scientists, intellectuals, and humanitarians who's actions "threatened" the church-that is, those actions that educated people and contradicted the barbaric teachings of the Pope and the "Holy" Inquisition.
Field,
ReplyDeleteYour post was well-written and reflective. I think you presented a balanced view.

ReplyDeleteThis crap drives me up a wall, Unfortunately, xtians don't have a monopoly on this kinda crap.
I mean, we have chiropractors acting like they can cure cancer by cracking your back, homeopaths pretending they can cure lupus with plain old water, and New Age psychotherapists who can heal your emotional problems with thought-field therapy.
If you are a nerd like me and ever have some free time, check out Quack Watch and definitely don't miss the skeptical guide to chiropractic, Chiro Base Both sites are maintained by a retired physician along w/ a few honest chiropractors and a PhD or two in anatomy and physiology.
I'd rather go to one of those snake-handling faith-healing cracker churches in Kentucky than to a chiropractor for virtually any ailment.
You are a lawyer, right? How on earth can Quackopractors be allowed to practice their "profession"? It is not that different from going to a psychic, except they wear coats and stethoscopes and call themselves "doctor", thereby confusing half the population. A recent poll of these "doctors" found a large chunk of them doubt...are u ready....GERM. THEORY !!!
Then you got the other ones telling people not to get their kids vaccinated....And all of their "knowledge" is grounded in metaphysics.
You oughta go sue a few of them, Field. Just for shits and giggles.

ReplyDeleteI am just putting the questions out there, and it is more about thinking than agreeing or disagreeing. I am still pondering myself and no one as the answers and to go further we do not know all the questions. Even the author Karen Armstrong (History of God, which is good book) said in an interview a couple of weeks ago that both the fundamental religious and atheists look at religion is still primitive. We look at religion from a very myopic view of our thinking and the topic is more complex than we believe.
Here is a question for you. Which religion where it is not required for a woman to change her last name upon marriage? Hint, it is one the big three.

I am happy that your great nephew does not have Down Syndrome. But what has this misdiagnosis to do with what is clearly a case of negligence in withholding life-saving medicine and treatment?
As a Christian, I thank you Field for not condeming the parents because of their "religious" affiliation. I do believe, however, they should be condemed for being ignorant.
ReplyDeleteMany "Christians" haven't taken the time to crack open "The Book" (Bible) and base their beiefs and doctrine on what "pastah said". Needless to say, many of today's pimps, er, pastahs are suspect at best. I'll stop here before the tirade on that subject begins.
It just sticks in my craw when innocents die, wars are declared and humans are abused; especially when it is done in the name of Christ.

We parents have a responsibility to ensure our kids do not die of curable illnesses. If your God doesn't understand that, then you are worshiping the wrong deity.

By the way, Field Negro. I really like your stuff in the sidebar. It's refreshing to see independent thinking at its best.
ReplyDeleteIt's also refreshing to see a black man as president and a Nobel Peace Prize recipient!!!
Sharon, why could you not understand what I was saying? help me LORD! for if you are not in the Kingdom of God! you will not understand the Kingdom!!!
ReplyDeleteSharon, the parent's did not take their child to see a Doctor because they were walking by Faith! they were believing God to move in the Miraculous! I used little Tommy as an example! my niece was a Christian, she had Faith! she used wisdom, she was seeing a Doctor! she had Prayer Warrior's!
I was trying my best to be as simplistic as I could, but, yet, I knew someone like YOU would ask that Question!
Sharon, the parent's were believing God to heal their child! they were believing in the Power of God's Healing Power! but, in the case of the parent's, they did not use Wisdom! for God will use the Knowledge he has given Doctor's to Heal his People! now do you understand?
I used the term (SUPER NATURAL) to prove just how Powerful Faith is!
Now, I don't know who was giving the parent's Godly instruction's but, in their daughter's case, they should have been told to have Faith in God, as their child was seeing a Doctor and taking medication!
Healing can come in all form's, Spiritual and Natural! in some case's, Christian's will look at the way Jesus healed people! and they will take on the attribute's of Christ! for to be a Christian, it is to be Christ like!

I knew that topic would get emotional. I have news for some of you, the bible was not written by God, and William Tyndale translated the book into the King James. We do not know if Tyndale translated every word correctly which he probably did not and there is evidence to suggest that. In addition not every text made into the bible as Constantine decided what include and omit in the compilation of the book in 325AD, I have to check to see if that is the correct year. We do not have a complete bible. There are two creation stories in the book of Genesis. Mark and Matthew wrote different accounts of the Jesus' birth. Jesus was a mason. In the Torah, Noah began to walk at the age of nine months. In the Qu'ran, Allah blames Adam and Eve equally for eating from the tree of sin. I have to ask what is with the contradictions and what does it all mean. Everything in this world is not an absolute and not always certain. There is an interesting parable on House now.

2. The story of Sodom and Gomorrah has NOTHING to do with homosexuality. You will not even find the word “homosexual” in any version of this text. The angels came to destroy the city BEFORE they met the evil mob. Lot offers his virgin daughters to that same mob. Later, these same girls rape Lot. Lot’s wife was destroyed. If this story condemns homosexuality, then it also condones incest and gang rape. And, Lot’s wife was a lesbian. NONE of which is true.
From The Good Book: “The Hebrew verb “to know” is rarely used in a sexual sense. It occurs 943 times in the Old Testament and in only 10 of those does it have the sense of carnal knowledge. Sodom is referred to throughout the Old Testament as a place of wickedness and is synonymous with it. But, nowhere does it state that homosexuality was the wickedness in question...Sodomite refers almost exclusively to a male prostitute...to say that homosexual conduct is wrong because the bible says it is, is not to answer, but to dismiss the question....Sex can be productive without being reproductive. Homosexual rape is never to be condoned. It is indeed, like heterosexual rape, an abomination before God. David’s sin of adultery with Bathsheba does not make all heterosexual expressions sinful!”
From The Bible, Ezekiel 17:48-50: “The Lord says ‘Your sister Sodom’s sins were pride and laziness and too much food. While the poor and needy suffered outside her door, she insolently worshipped many idols as I watched. Therefore, I crushed her.’”
From What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality: “The sin of Sodom was abuse and offense to strangers-insult to the traveler, inhospitality to the needy. The story is no more about sex than it is about pounding on someone’s front door. The bible offers NO valid conclusion whatsoever about homosexuality.”

ReplyDeleteyou are a classic example of an illiterate christian who knows nothing about the bible you so loosely quote
i am convinced you know nothing about the bible
shame!!!
bible says a lot of thing YOU do not do!
ie
thou shalt not judge
love thy neighbor
you have no right to preach to anyone herein!!!!
3. Leviticus, Romans, and Corinthians all refer to “unnatural sex” for HETEROSEXUALS. It is NATURAL for HOMOSEXUALS to engage in homosexual sex.(Also see WHAT IS REAL SEX herein.) Yet, heterosexuals sin daily as gay prostitutes, porno film stars, lewd voyeurs, prison rapists, etc....
From The Good Book: “In Romans...Paul did not discuss gay persons but heterosexual people who performed homosexual acts. To suggest that Paul’s references to excesses of sexual indulgence, involving homosexual behavior, are indicative of a general position in opposition to same-sex eroticism, is as unfounded as arguing that his condemnation of drunkeness implies opposition to the drinking of wine. In Corinthians 1:7, Paul discusses the conjugal relations that ought to obtain between christian husbands and wives. For those whom celibacy was too high a price, he issued his famous edict that it was ‘better to marry than to burn’- not in hell. But with desire for the satisfaction of sex. Nowhere does he mention the sole purpose of such conjugality is the procreation of children.”
4. In Levitcus, homosexuality is an abomination not because it is inherently evil, but because the Gentiles do it. It is, therefore, ritually impure.
From What The Bible Really Says About Homosexuality: “Leviticus condemns sex as a religious crime of idolatry-not as a sexual offense. Romans suggest that sex acts have no ethical significance whatsoever. Corinthians and Timothy object to specific forms of male prostitution. These books do not refer to homosexuality. They make a general condemnation of moral looseness, lewd, lustful, and lascivious behavior.”
5. “Love Thy Neighbor” is a commandment. For the record, millions of your neighbors are homosexuals.
6. The bible is written by human men. They are not God. They never quote God or Jesus as saying ANYTHING about homosexuals. Jesus makes only one statement that can even be remotely viewed as a reference to homosexuality.
Matthew 19:12: “Jesus said ‘Some are born without the ability to marry.’”
7. God is love. Homosexuals are consenting adults who love each other. Gay love is invisible to gaybashers. They see only gay sex. They hunt it down, exclusively, obscenely, curiously, and passionately. Many gaybashers are homosexuals. They will love us when they learn to love themselves.

WHAT THE BIBLE TELLS YOU HETS TO DO IN YOUR VERY OWN MARRIAGES
stop worrying and about gays getting wed and FOLLOW THE BIBLE!!!:
Black people brazenly ignore their bibles completely unless they are referring to homosexuals. Black people who dare to order homosexuals to obey nonexistent biblical marital laws for homosexuals simultaneously disobey biblical laws that order married heterosexuals as follows:
Marriage in the United States shall consist of a union between one
man and one or more women. (Genesis 29:17-28; II Samuel 3:2-5)
Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines in
addition to his wife or wives. (II Samuel; 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chronicles
11:21)
A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If
the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed. (Deutoronomy 22:13-21)
Marriage between a believer and a nonbeliever shall be forbidden.
(Genesis 24:3; Numbers 25:1-9; Ezra 9:12; Nehemiah 10:30)
Since marriage is for life, neither this Constitution nor the
Constitution of any State, nor any state or federal law, shall be
construed to permit divorce. (Deuteronomy 22:19; Mark 10:9)
If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the
widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately
does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe and be
otherwise punished in a manner to be determined by law. (Genesis 38:6-10;
Deuteronomy 25:5-10)
Divorced people may not remarry without being considered adulterers. (Matthew
5:31-32) (Mark 10:4)
Adulterers shall be stoned to death. (Leviticus 20:10)
Perhaps most strangely of all to date: Black people who know that King Shrub is a
thief, a liar, a racist, a warmonger, and a global mass murderer who has literally
destroyed America’s economy, educational arenas, and international security will
actually vote for him soon simply because he hates homosexuals.

"Who were Jesus’ disciples? Lower-class, illiterate, Aramic-speaking peasants from Galilee… These [biblical] authors were not [illiterate]...Whoever these authors were, they were unusually gifted Christians of a later generation…A large number of books in the early church were written by authors who falsely claimed to be apostles in order to deceive their readers into accepting their books and the views they represented.
The biblical scholars were all living in a different world from ours and reflected the assumption and beliefs of people in their world…homosexuality didn’t exist in their world. Why? Not because men didn’t have sex with men (they did) or women with women (they did) but because there was no sense of sexual orientation in that world, or any world, until the notion of sexual orientation developed among Western thinkers in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries…This is true for everything found in the Bible. It was written in a different world, a different context.
…the Bible, after all, condemns tattoos. In the same book, Leviticus, the Bible also condemns wearing clothing made of two different kinds of fabric and eating pork. And, it indicates that children who disobey their parents are to be stoned to death…In my opinion, people need to use their intelligence to evaluate what they find to be true and untrue in the Bible."

ReplyDeletepreach about this!
u fake fool!
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's
Law.!
I share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When
someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for
example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly
states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of
the other specific laws and how to follow them.
1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it
creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem
is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them.
Should I smite them?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as
sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you
think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she
is in her period of menstrual cleanliness - Lev.15:19-24. The
problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most
women take offense.
4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both
male and Female, provided they are purchased from neighboring
nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to
Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own
Canadians?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.
Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I
morally obligated to kill him myself?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish
is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination
than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God
if I have a defect in my sight. I have t! o admit that I wear
reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there
some wiggle room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including
the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly
forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead
pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear
gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting
two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by
wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread
(cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and
blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the
trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? -
Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a
private family affair like we do with people who sleep with
their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am
confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that
God's word is eternal and unchanging.

9. There are thousands of REAL SINS in the bible that gaybashers ignore/commit. Selective smoke and blasphemous mirrors will never save their souls or mask their hypocrisy. Unlike the misinterpretations and exaggerations regarding homosexuality, the bible makes SPECIFIC references to many actual sins that gaybashers habitually ignore. (See NUMEROUS biblical references to adultery, lying, judging, dietary laws, gossiping, infidelity, disrespecting authority, betraying family etc....)
10. The bible is not a primer for hatred. The bible is “the good book”. Gaybashers use it exclusively as an evil bat; one they use exclusively to bash the skulls of homosexuals.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Religion has destroyed spirituality. Religion is man-made and divisive. Spirituality is divine and unifying. Religion selects the designated few. Sprituality embraces the divine in us all.

True love is unconditional. God truly loves us ALL. Lastly, I quote Chris Glaser, the star of one of my best radio shows ever, from his book The Word is Out:
“Ephesians 2:10: ‘We are God’s work of art’...The gay community shakes our confidence in our own beauty by creating the cult of the body beautiful. The church shakes our self worth by creating the cult of heterosexuality and the cult of the perfect saint. But God sees to the heart of the matter and the heart of our matter...”

A HOLY HATRED OF “HOEZ”
Human men created all religions. And, millions of human men hate women.
Millions of ignorant preachers frame the biblical Eve as being solely responsible for the eternal banishment of humanity from the Garden of Eden. Yet, there are rebels who argue that Adam was not a victim, but a rough draft…
“Pagan” was a word coined to degrade ancient believers who worshipped female Gods.
Ironically, sexist religions dictate that all humans are created in the image of an exclusively male God. Yet, every human male begins life as a biological female in the womb.
In her legendary debut “Whoopi Goldberg: Live on Broadway”, Whoopi told a great story about racism in the Catholic church. She recalled having to sacrifice her candy allowance to feed the “pagan babies”. She recounts how such blatant white supremacy affected her mind as a black child, as God seemed to let black babies starve unless Whoopi and her peers donated their candy money to feed them.
The biblical book of Deuteronomy is arguably more misogynistic than any female bashing gangsta rap music lyric ever penned. The Madonna-whore syndrome that permeates most religions toxifies the cancers of sexism globally. Globally, sexism grows more deadly each day.
Many sinful pastors encourage and bless vicious hatred of gay men simply because they regard homosexual men as caricatures of equally debased and despised heterosexual women. Many sexist religious organizations forbid females as pastors. In a world flooded with sexist hatreds, countless religions are awash in rivers of sacredly bigoted blood.
Thus, it should come as no surprise that the lethal lunatic George Sordini was a fan of rabidly sexist religious authors whose toxic tomes were fatal inspirations for his misogynist massacre. Precisely like those who slay homosexuals, Sodini felt that murdering “hoez” was divine.
Hatred is stronger than fear. Religious hatred is a supremely criminal inspiration. We should all fear religious ignorance more than anything else on earth! SHAME!!!
