“Hell is empty and all the devils are here.” ~ Shakespeare!
You go that right, Bill. And I believe you because of the latest from my god fearing friends on the right.
Seems that there is a new campaign going on to get black women not to have abortions. Why? Because abortions are part of a racist plot to exterminate black people.Yep. All those poor single mothers who decided that they weren't going to bring a child into the world, because, oh, I don't know; they wanted to maybe make something of themselves, are being tricked by pro-choice racist.
I swear the anti choice folks will do anything to get their way. I wonder where these people were when black folks -who were actually fully developed humans- were being killed in this country, for no other reason than the fact that they were black?
Field, did you know that the founder of planned parenthood "was founded by a woman who was a leading proponent of eugenics"? Yes, and I also know that Henry Ford hated Jews. But that doesn't mean that all those anti choice folks who drive Fords hate Jews.
Then there is this latest slave catcher, Catherine Davis, who makes the following comments with a straight face:
"The abortion industry is targeting the black woman," she said. "There is no lynch mob wearing white sheets and hoods. What they've done is take off the hoods and put on suits and say: let's go and kill the black people. It's cloaked itself by talking about choice. But the industry has targeted the black community. If people were put on the endangered species list then certainly black children would be there because more are aborted than at any time in history."
Davis also shows a film,
"Targeting the black woman"? Ms. Davis (and this comment is going to piss off some of you) I submit to you that the pro choice industry is not targeting under served communities enough. If I see one more poor black single mother at the bus stop with three or four kids and not a man in sight, I will scream. What we need is more pro active sex education in schools. (Where is Joycelyn Elders when you need her?) We also need more counseling for these young girls out here who think that having a baby is like having a f*&^%$g doll. And, getting in the face of some of these young boys who think that raising a child is some sort of joke.
But field, what do you do after the horse leaves the barn? Well, it depends on how far out of the barn the horse is. If he only stuck his tail out of the barn and you cut it off, you cut a tail, not a horse. (That was a weired analogy, but hey, it's late, it's the best I can do right now.)
I love these anti choice people ranting about abortions when they know damn good and well that if mommy brings the child into the world, they are the ones who are going to fight the hardest to make sure that he or she isn't playing on an equal playing field. Talk about irony. This isn't only about abortions this is about a woman's right to reproductive freedom. I don't care if a woman is black, white, purple, brown, rich, or poor; she should have the right to do what she wants to do with her own damn body. And I submit to you that if she does not think that she can raise a child she should NOT have one. Period.
"It is a message that plays well in parts of a community that remains suspicious of the intent of parts of the white establishment, including the medical industry, after revelations of experiments on black people as well as the second rate care they sometimes received in the past.
Other black leaders are backing the emotive message. Johnny Hunter, an African-American pastor and president of the Life Education and Resource Network, a Christian coalition, told a rally in Georgia last month that opposition to abortion is the new civil rights struggle.
"The civil rights activists did not fight to make lynching safe, legal, and rare. They ended it. We must fight to end the ugliest form of racism: abortion," he said. "More black children die every four days from abortion than the Ku Klux Klan killed in 144 years … All the civil rights gained in education, voting and equal job opportunities mean nothing to a dead black child."
Johnny, what does it mean to a child who is alive but wishes they were dead?
Dr. King's niece has jumped into the fray with her own anti-abortion stance. http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/news/2010/03/100305_georgia_abortion_controversyy.shtml
ReplyDeleteShe admits to having had an abortion and regretting it and now wants to end all abortions for everyone else. Interestingly, her counterpart on the BBC interview had ALSO had an abortion and had no regrets and feels that Alveda has no right to deny others a right she willingly took advantage of.
Devil's Advocate: Let's assume the premise that Republicans do not like black people and anything they advocate is to their benefit.
ReplyDeleteBased on this premise, why would Republicans give a damn about abortion in the black community?
What do they stand to gain if the abortion rate decreased in the black community?
I do not know anyone who likes abortion, and it is a very difficult decision for a person to make, none the less the optive the word being a person should make that decision. We are a nation of busy bodies, we are not happy unless we interject ourselves in people's personal business. If birth control was more available, and more insurance would cover it, then the number of abortions could be reduced. Another thing, people do not remember that 3,500 women died each year when abortion were illegal causing them to use back alley methods with unethical or unlicensed medical people. Can you imagine trying to use a clothes hanger as an abortion tool, or dangerous medication causing illness or death. I do not think people do not understand the larger implication being illegalizing abortion. This is a complex issue without question, but people should not make it more complicated for the individual who will make the decision.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dr. King's niece, she had a choice and if she felt that she made the wrong choice, then really isn't anything she can do about it. The word choice to means that you had at least two options to choose. She could have put the baby up for adoption or keep the child. I do not think anyone stood over her with a gun and forced her to have an abortion, it was decision and she will have to live with it. I mean she probably is sincere about not wanting anyone going through a painful experience, but the reality is that she does have any control on other people's lives. People have to make decisions and responsible for their own lives, and that is probably a moral truth. I have always said that people are moral when it is convenient for them. We cannot be responsibile for women's reproductive system.
FN
ReplyDeleteSome of these folks don't even want to encourage birth control, because they consider that abortion too. The religious folk, especially the Black Church want women, note that I say women, to be ascetics, no sex unless you want to reproduce or sleep with the preacher.
I also think these people are lying about the number of abortions Black women have. The unfortunate thing is that poor women get counted. I feel they are racist too, since I was followed to an elevator going to my dermatologist, by a white pro-life protester. Since there were many different types of medical offices in that building and different people going in, the only reason I could figure I was harassed was because I was Black.
If these people were really concerned they would work to reduce the reasons. Everything that Field has said. It is all or nothing with them and I sometime wonder about those who start driveling scripture, remember when they were caught between a rock and a hard place or without sin. Or those women who have escaped the bullet, then found Jesus, if they ever think that there should be a better alternative than asceticism and denial.
Not_RJ,
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans want the Black vote or at least for them to stop voting for Democrats.
Has it occurred to anyone that having abortion is killing another human being?
ReplyDeleteI would expect Republicans and Christians-"Thou shalt not kill"- to be fully against abortions because it is immoral.
I would expect liberals, progressives and Dems to be for abortion...to them, 'anything goes' because morality is whatever you want it to be. Hence, there is no moral issue, or any such 'being' as a vulnerable child having any right to life in their since it would be inconvenient for their "self-centered-it's-all- about-"me" selves.
They are amazing! they cry about people dying in wars, yet they have no tears for aborting and murdering innocent children in numbers greater than the numbers killed in the Iraqi or Afghanistan war.
Like Hitler, they believe if they don't want your kind around, it's ok to exterminate you.
hennesplace, "If birth control was more available, and more insurance would cover it, then the number of abortions could be reduced."
ReplyDeleteYeah, I see your point. I wonder if people are capable of not having sex without protection to prevent pregnancy? Nah. Once lust arises, the woman's legs automatically flies apart begging to be screwed, and damn the consequences...knowing she can get an abortion whenever she wants!
anon1:18
ReplyDeleteDescribe yourself.
anon1:24,
ReplyDeleteYou are the reason, I think that if a man has 3 children he not supporting they should be required to have a vasectomy.
You don't think men are capable of a having any restraint, or enough to use a condom. I think if he were capable he should be able to slide it on without diminishing the passion. I surmise from your comment you aren't one of those men.
No Hathor, your assumption is wrong-as usual.
ReplyDeleteI have a family with two children that I love very dearly. Should my wife become pregnant with an unplanned child, we will accept, accommodate and love the child as one of God's children. We cannot and will not kill it.
anon2:02,
ReplyDeleteYou seem to just know how women are.
I have no way of knowing which person I am responding?
Why is it difficult to create an identity. If someones going to track you they will do it via an address, which will be different form some other anon.
Someone must be worrying about not having enough maids, dishwashers, gardeners and other people to do the poorly paid heavy work.
ReplyDeleteI am a Conservative Democrat, which mean's, I DO NOT believe in Abortion! and to Kill anything that is Breathing is Murder! and to Kill a Black baby is Triple MURDER! know debate me on this! we need black men and women to be more responsible! this will eliminate the Genocide in our community's!
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with being Anti Abortion? what is wrong with African American speaking against abortion? this is not limited to the White population, we have a right, to say (Black women STOP killing your baby's) our people are so Screwed up, some don't know, if we are coming or going!
The new generation of Black's could care less about the Future! anything go's, it's okay to be Gay! no problem, just go and do YOUR THANG! most of you young Black's are Shameful! yes I said it, SHAMEFUL! you people are LOOSE! and it is because of YOU and your LOOSE thinking, that has given our young people, the okay to ROAM around like Heathen's!
The White population is trying to increase it's population growth! and why? well, they are becoming the Minority! why do you think they are Murdering White Abortion Doctor's? and yet, some of our people say (it is Wrong, for a Black Pastor to speak against Abortion) what is wrong, with some of you Black folk? should he be telling black women, to Kill Black Baby's?
It was a time when Black folk could SEE! they knew about Racial Genocide, but, now, we are stuck with a bunch of (Gullible,Simple minded, Race Hating, wanna be, so called House Negro's)if a Black woman can live a Care Free life and get pregnant by God know's who, then her behind, can have that baby and take care of it!it's not complicated, if you don't wanna get pregnant, then don't! live in a way, in which you won't get pregnant and then have to Abort your child!
ISEEISEE
I have some questions...
ReplyDeleteWhere are the truth speakers? FN you're doing your best.
If there was someone to speak out against this Bllsht campaign, would we call them crazy?
Those with sense enough to abolish these teabagging tactics unfortunately lack the resources to spread the word, and our people will probably call them crazy too.
Why do black associate power, importance, and wisdom with material items?
So if Will Smith comes out and abolish this add, how would the black community respond?
One more thing... I was listening to a song "Nobody Wins a War" on Raheem Devaughn's new album. At the end of the songs Jill Scott asks why do you send my babies to kill families they don't even know? The same people screaming bloody murder abortions are the same people supporting declaring war while killing innocent babies, families, and young women and men. America needs to invest into mental health. It appears we're all delusional, blind, oblivious to reality, and possible cowards.
ReplyDeleteIseeIsee,
ReplyDeleteif you don't wanna get pregnant, then don't! live in a way, in which you won't get pregnant and then have to Abort your child!
Exactly, how is this to be done?
Shaking your finger and acting as you live virtuous life isn't going to do it. Of course no one ever fails in this life.
FN,
ReplyDeleteI wish every group wouldn't compare themselves to the civil rights movement.
The movement never murdered anyone, harassed mourners at funerals or got in people's personal space; they also didn't bitch when they broke the law and were arrested. These people now feel like they are martyred if they are asked to move back a few feet.
Ok. Even though I vehiminently disagree with the anti-choicers... I will play along. What I want to know is this:
ReplyDeleteIf abortion is made illegal, can I then count on you to be on the front lines demanding increased funding for:
WIC, food stamps, aid to families with dependent children, public education... both primary and secondary, medicaid, public county hospitals, early childhood intervention for those children born with disabilities, HEADSTART, Section 8 housing, assistance for childcare, after-school care?????
Cuz I will be right with ya on all of the above. I will be demanding that these social safety net services be available in full, along with intensive counseling and support for every single mom to better her life and the lives of her children. I will be with ya on demanding that these precious lives are a priority over defense spending, corporate welfare.... I will march with ya, pay taxes with ya....
Are you with me anons up there who are opposed to abortion?
We are in the age of Kali Yuga where human life is not revered anymore and abortion is practiced freely, as well as other forms of state sanctioned murder. I cannot believe that our hearts have become so callous that we defend abortions thinking we are being compassionate to the mothers but instead are contributing to the destruction of their souls and the very soul of our people. Just because something is routinely done, does not make it right. Morality by consensus makes for a screwy society; like the type that would allow slavery yet preach about people being equal...
ReplyDelete"If abortion is made illegal, can I then count on you to be on the front lines demanding increased funding for:

Jody, let me help you with that; the answer is NO.
ISEEISEE, please pray for me.
"Based on this premise, why would Republicans give a damn about abortion in the black community?
What do they stand to gain if the abortion rate decreased in the black community?"
Not_RJ, this is about power. Turning the Af Am. vote away from the dumbocrats by even a few percentage points and thus insuring that they will be elected to power. Then they can put in whatever kind of draconian laws that they want. Including a law that says people with an income of say less than $30,000 per year be limited to a family of four....I am just saying.
FN,
"I wish every group wouldn't compare themselves to the civil rights movement"
Hathor, me and you both. I swear, any day now Hugh Hefner is going to lead a protest of bunnies because he didn't get a chance to sleep with enough brunettes when he was younger.
"Has it occurred to anyone that having abortion is killing another human being?"
If it's a legal abortion; No!
"They are amazing! they cry about people dying in wars, yet they have no tears for aborting and murdering innocent children in numbers greater than the numbers killed in the Iraqi or Afghanistan war.

Yeah, kind of like conservatives/wingnuts and those pesky Arabs.
"I have a family with two children that I love very dearly. Should my wife become pregnant with an unplanned child, we will accept, accommodate and love the child as one of God's children. We cannot and will not kill it."
And what if one of your children is a young teenage girl and she comes home pregnant? Same answer? And if you are white and she tells you that it's the "colored boy" from the football team that knocked her up; same answer?
Think about it after church tomorrow and get back with me. ;)
Phil4Real, powerful black folks in A-merry-ca have too much $ to lose. Massa has been good to dem folks.
Filled Negro:
ReplyDeleteI realize that you are a Defense Attorney and thus your integrity is fluid.
I want you to focus a minute on the TRANSFERENCE that is flatulating from your argument.
1) You INFERIORIZE these "Black Women" by assuming that ALL OF THEM ARE POOR.
I wonder where these people were when black folks -who were actually fully developed humans- were being killed in this country, for no other reason than the fact that they were black?
2) Filled Negro - WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW when Blacks are being killed by STREET PIRATES and there is massive silence as compared to if a WHITE MAN with tube socks from Alabama kills a Black? YET ANOTHER POINT OF TRANSFERENCE. Even though this is a BLACK PRO-LIFE GROUP and they are likely in their 40's - OUR intellectually honest friend Filled Negro does TRANSFERENCE from 2010 back to 1910. Its funny how he is a Democrat despite their past murderous deeds but in this case HISTORY is today's damning evidence when it fits his agenda.
Filled Negro if there was ever a time to use the quasi-socialist meme of "PEOPLE OVER PROFITS" it is now. You all tend to go to the evil corporation and tell them that no monetary concerns should trump the VALUE of a human. YOU NEED TO turn around to the crowd that stands behind you and tell them the SAME DAMNED THING!!!
You try to make this an issue of a society which is unwilling to feed Black children that are brought into this world. YOU NEED TO FOCUS UPON the POWER that God gave us all BETWEEN OUR LEGS and have this GIFT be used in the context of a greater providence.
Filled Negro - If this gestating human being is merely a CLUMP OF TISSUE that is to be discarded from the NUTRITION SOURCE the walls of its MOTHER'S WOMB - then how does TIME add more VALUE to this tissue once it becomes a mass of cells that looks like a human being?
I wonder if a pig farmer determined that feeding this worthless DISCARDED HUMAN TISSUE to his animals caused then to grow fatter and then set up a contract with planned parenthood to dispose of them this way if YOU would not be the first one protesting this inhuman contractual arrangement?
When you FRAUDULENTLY make this about CHOICE while abstracting the value of the "gestating HUMAN BEING" who would be brought to term IF not detached from the "BELLY OF ITS PROTECTOR" - you can mentally masturbate yourself into believing any damned thing.
Devil's Advocate: Let's assume the premise that Republicans do not like black people and anything they advocate is to their benefit.

Not_RJ:
THE BEST THING that the Republicans can do to have Black people DESTROY OURSELVES is to MOVE AWAY FROM US and allow the Progressive-Fundamentalists to have exclusive access to us.
Don't fall for the RACISM CHASER'S creed. They proclaim that THEY have the best interests of the Black community at hand. THEY just choose to talk about EVERYTHING BUT what is going on WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
The Republicans exist in the "American Political Domain".
The FAILURE that is occurring to our people's interests is within the "Community Cultural Consciousness and Competence" domain.
The FACT is that a BLACK FEMALE IN A LONG TERM, COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP and who has EDUCATION have FEWER ABORTIONS THAT Black females in other situations.
In as much as the BQPFRC has:
* Control over the CULTURAL Norms in our community
* Control over the consciousness in our HOUSEHOLDS
* Control over our SCHOOLS
* Control over our LOCAL ECONOMIC Policies
their choice to focus on POWER within the "American Political Domain" while failing to manage the HUMAN RESOURCES within toward a certain end - puts the onus upon them to WORK FOR OUR PERMANENT INTERESTS or get off of the pot.
HennasPlace says:
ReplyDelete
If birth control was more available, and more insurance would cover it, then the number of abortions could be reduced.
Hathor says:
ome of these folks don't even want to encourage birth control, because they consider that abortion too.
BUT the article about WASHINGTON DC's new FEMALE CONDOM DISTRIBUTION PLAN SAYS:
http://withintheblackcommunity.blogspot.com/2010/03/holmes-norton-with-house-gop-out-of.html
The move is an official acknowledgment of the futility of relying solely on the use of male condoms, which have been distributed citywide for nearly a decade, to stem the District's epidemic of HIV and AIDS. Officials said they are turning to female condoms to give women more power to protect themselves from HIV and sexually transmitted diseases when their partners refuse to use protection.
Do you see how WHEN THE FACTS POINT TO THE PEOPLE IN QUESTION you both (and Filled Negro) tend to OBFUSCATE to your EXTERNAL ADVERSARIES?
At what point do you run out of excuses (and external money) and begin MANAGING THE PEOPLE in order to turn out RESULTS that are more in line with your claimed VALUATION OF PEOPLE?
Someone must be worrying about not having enough maids, dishwashers, gardeners and other people to do the poorly paid heavy work.
ReplyDeleteLady Cracker - WHY did you drill a worm hole STRAIGHT TO THE BACK OF THE BUS on the subject of BLACK CHILDREN?
Are you telling me that the Black females from Spelman, Clark-Atlanta, Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Emory Univ who choose to abort the gestating child in their womb have CHILDREN DESTINED FOR UNSKILLED JOBS IN THE FUTURE?
(Note - these posters are primarily in Atlanta - thus the list of colleges)
I want to see ONE OF YOU LEFTISTS who don't use the currency of BLACK INFERIORITY in your arguments.
PLEASE. Just one.
I am begging you.
Do you leftists see that your antics can be committed to paper and then outsourced for an Indian national to read the script when someone calls into your call center?
ReplyDeletePhil4Real fits this to a "T".
1) Shift this BLACK HUMAN issue into one of "Tea Party" politics in the "American Political Domain".
2) INFERIORIZE this Black Anti-Abortion group who is running the ads as being SHILLS for some greater WHITE CONSERVATIVE movement. Thus - as so many others do - DOCUMENT WHAT WHITE CONSERVATIVES THINK and then attack any BLACK WHO SOUNDS SIMILAR as their flunkies. BLACK PEOPLE don't have the human intellect to evaluate a situation and then come to any conclusion that is something other than LEFTIST.
If there was someone to speak out against this Bllsht campaign, would we call them crazy?

Jody - I like you but.......
ReplyDelete
If abortion is made illegal, can I then count on you to be on the front lines demanding increased funding for:
Notice that all of these on the list are REDISTRIBUTIVE, thus assuming that these women aborting their children are POOR and not COLLEGE STUDENTS from solidly middle class Black families. (Note we gave our baby crib to a BLACK FAMILY living 10 minutes away as their teen aged daughter [19] gave birth. They are an UPPER MIDDLE CLASS Black family)
* WIC
* food stamps
* aid to families with dependent children
* public education... both primary and secondary
* medicaid
* public county hospitals
* early childhood intervention for those children born with disabilities
* HEADSTART
* Section 8 housing
* assistance for childcare
* after-school care
Jody - you are HIGH MAINTENANCE
Do you see that your ideology has you STRUGGLING FOR these resources from the GOVERNMENT.
Likewise you are averse to linking a community's REPRODUCTIVE CULTURAL THEORIES with their own SOCIOECONOMIC PRODUCTIVITY.
My friend Jody - I saw a report about how the financial calculus of the Catholic School expansion in the middle of last century was made possible BECAUSE the NUNS who were the teachers - WORKED FOR FREE as they WORKED FOR THE CHURCH. Jody - WHERE is there any similar movement among the PROGRESSIVE LEFT where the items on your list above are ORGANICALLY SUPPLIED by those who believe as such RATHER THAN from the GOVERNMENT OF THE BEAST WHO'S BELLY you are ensnared in?
Cuz I will be right with ya on all of the above. I will be demanding that these social safety net services be available in full, along with intensive counseling and support for every single mom to better her life and the lives of her children. I will be with ya on demanding that these precious lives are a priority over defense spending, corporate welfare.... I will march with ya, pay taxes with ya....
Jody, Jody, Jody.
Think about the conundrum that you are in with your economic ideology.
YOU could avoid having the EVIL DEFENSE DEPARTMENT from stealing your BUTTER by NOT ALLOWING your money to ESCAPE OUT OF YOUR COMMUNITY. Thus instead of sending money to the government via TAXATION and MISALLOCATION - you instead form an overlay group that provides SOCIAL SERVICES. Thus they spend the money where YOU WANT THEM TO.
The key problem with this plan, Jody, is that in your MISALIGNED QUASI-SOCIALIST THEORIES you are unable to make the HUMAN RESOURCES that are in lien with you in spirit to apply their resources toward ends that are PRODUCTIVE TO YOUR CAUSE. Thus YOU REQUIRE an ASSAULT UPON THE NATIONAL TREASURY in order to tap into the resources that THE BEAST CALLED AMERICA has.
It seems clear and rational to me that a group of people who are TIRED OF HAVING THEIR MONEY STOLEN would STOP SENDING IT UP TO THE NATIONAL POT. This is not possible with YOU because you know that you receive a net POSITIVE flow from this pot than what you PUT INTO the pot.
Can we agree, Jody, that your main flaw is that you are unable to achieve the type of society that you desire via plotting out a "garden" and managing the people inside of that space to your liking. Instead you live by EXPANSION. You need a powerful centralized government power to "make equality". All the while you force the people to YIELD their freedom to the state.
In classic Orwellian double-speak: "State Control Is Freedom" in the mind of Jody
There used to be (and probably still is) a solidly racist element within the right-to-life movement. Randall Terry et al worry a lot about white women aborting babies, but never cared about women of color. When the typical anti-abortion protestors block clinics and try to prevent women from going in, they usually keep their mouths shut or step aside when the apparent patient is black or Hispanic. If you look at the propaganda circulating within the anti-abortion movement and white fundie churches, there's a lot of nativist language and "save the white race from the menacing brown hordes" propaganda. But that's not the quite same thing as actively promoting abortion in minority communities, is it?
ReplyDeleteFilled Negro - If this gestating human being is merely a CLUMP OF TISSUE that is to be discarded from the NUTRITION SOURCE the walls of its MOTHER'S WOMB - then how does TIME add more VALUE to this tissue once it becomes a mass of cells that looks like a human being?"
ReplyDeleteHate to be graphic here with you big guy: But every time someone masturbates, can we assume that the white stuff coming from his johnson could one day become a "human being" as well? It's a shame, all those wasted humans. :(
All this talk of black inferiority from the [un]constructive one. Methinks he projects too much.
"Notice that all of these on the list are REDISTRIBUTIVE, thus assuming that these women aborting their children are POOR and not COLLEGE STUDENTS from solidly middle class Black families. ReplyDeleteGood for you. Five stars for CF. :) Question: What DOES happen to the poor black (or white) single
mother who is pregnant and does not want to have a child. Can she count on your family to adopt the child for her? You seem to be such a nice guy and all. I mean I know it's more of an investment than a crib, but would you take that next step?
Nan, that's a terrific observation. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think that ad is absolutely outrageous and infuriating and wrong on SO many levels! It should be taken down IMEDIATELY!
ReplyDeleteHow dare these animals use ANY minority in such a nefarious way? How dare they put up a billboard with a precious childs face on it in order to twist emotions against or for a any shitty political party? because that's what the sole purpose and intention is and not any other!!!
How dare they??? there are no ifs, ands or buts about this crap! This is an affront to all!
I certainly hope it has been torn, ripped, dragged, and/or burnt down, as well it should be!
If not, then I have to seriously wonder where the sensibilities, not to mention the balls, have gone!!!!!!

Ummm No. What I am advocating is that resources be available to all those women, regardless of their economic ability to pay, so that all of those babies have health, education, parents with good parenting skills and an opportunity for a better life.
I do not want to live in a society where "freedom" means that we accept and close our eyes to the suffering of others... where we simply look at those who are struggling and say, well, they have the "freedom" to make their lives better, they just choose not to... so, fuck em. It is not about "freedom" it is about responsibility. Let me put this in your Jesus terms, since you are a self professed believer: "When you do this for the least of these, you do this for me." If I am not mistaken, according to the Jesus, we are COMMANDED to serve the poor, the sick, the outcast, the imprisoned..... How cruel is it to sit there with a full belly in a warm, safe house and tell those that do not have these, you are on your own, because if I help you, I will not really be helping you. Explain THAT to your Jesus.
i hope that black women will not fall for this and make the difficult PERSONAL decision about whether or not to have a child.
ReplyDeletemake no mistake: the right to have an abortion is under assault each and every day, in the state legislative houses and even in the school grounds. there are many, many strategies at work.
we've had protestors at my children's high school carrying hideous photos purportedly of aborted fetuses that i know are the same photos they were using 30 years ago when i worked at a hospital.
become a member of planned parenthood or NARAL even just to get their email updates. you don't need to give money. you'd be shocked at what's going on.
if you believe in the right to choose you need to fight to preserve it.

I funny it funny that the first time I was called a nigger was by a pro-life protestor while I was working as a clinic escort.
ReplyDeletePro-lifers are trying to acquire new support in the black community since they've heard that the black church has a conservative streak. Newsflash: Black churches are conservative, but practical. They don't support gay rights, but they need their gay choir director. And they don't advocate for abortion, but they aren't excited about teenagers having babies.
Interesting discussion, and thanks to Field for the post.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with all of this is we're dealing with an issue that is impossible to argue with folks that have firmly held beliefs. A belief is accepting a concept despite a lack of evidence and then suspending all critical thinking from that point on in regards to the matter.
Everyone is free to have beliefs, of course, but the biggest question is "Do you think you have the right to impose your belief system on other people?"
If the God you believe in is a "Just God, a Merciful God" then there's really no problem with abortion. Such a God would not allow a "soul" to be destroyed, but would simply direct it to a more viable opportunity.
If you believe that God will deal out punishment (everlasting hell, for instance) for our deeds during our short time here on Earth, then back the fuck off and let God deal with it.
Christians should spend their time trying to be more like Jesus. Minister to the poor, help educate the disadvantaged, and let all other chips fall where they may.
Because it's really none of your business, it's God's business (if you believe in that sort of thing).
Pro-lifers are trying to acquire new support in the black community since they've heard that the black church has a conservative streak. Newsflash: Black churches are conservative, but practical. They don't support gay rights, but they need their gay choir director. And they don't advocate for abortion, but they aren't excited about teenagers having babies."
ReplyDeletekhia, may I use those lines one day? I promise I will give you credit. If I remember. :)
do not want to live in a society where "freedom" means that we accept and close our eyes to the suffering of others... where we simply look at those who are struggling and say, well, they have the "freedom" to make their lives better, they just choose not to... so, fuck em. It is not about "freedom" it is about responsibility. Let me put this in your Jesus terms, since you are a self professed believer:"

ReplyDeleteDevil's Advocate: Let's assume the premise that Republicans do not like black people and anything they advocate is to their benefit.
Based on this premise, why would Republicans give a damn about abortion in the black community?
What do they stand to gain if the abortion rate decreased in the black community?
Nothing. It's little more than a throw shit against a wall and see what sticks approach to propagating their anti-choice message. Granted, when they cross over into the realm of race as if they give a shit about any perceived plight in the black community it's disingenuous at best and racist at worst.
Hollywood does the same thing when promoting movies - They'll cut trailers showing humorous scenes in a given movie and then cut trailers for the same movie showing sappy, romantic scenes, and then action scenes. You can have a single movie being promoted as three or four different genres in just as many trailers even through it's decidedly only an action movie or a comedy.
It's nothing more than a marketing ploy for their 'product'.

Same answer. There is no good reason to kill another human being, regardless of color. Next question?
Btw, just because killing babies is "legal" does not make it right.
bennett, i think usually what you write is great. having helped run several local campaigns for elected office, including the BOE, i have to ask: did you curtail what you said, or do you live in a very liberal area? what was your platform? did you have any opposition and how did they run?
ReplyDeleteMaria, thanks for those links.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:25 am. I will take you at your word. I don't know you so I cannot pre-judge you. I still disagree with you on the pro-choice issue but hey, if you are sincere in your beliefs good for you.
But please see what Bennett said about about imposing your will on others. Thus if you are a woman and choose not to have an abortion; good for you, that's your choice. That is all I want for everyone, the right to be able to choose. Even if it happens to mean terminating a pregnancy.
Has any anti-choicer EVER taken a basic biology class? Abortion terminates a fetus, not a baby, or people. Fetus' aren't "breathing people" if they were, they wouldn't be inside a woman's womb. Until anti-choicers accept basic science there can be no discussion.

When I worked at a public health clinic in the 80's as a health educator, it was thought that the reason so many poor minority women were NOT having abortions was because they couldn't afford them. Today, I find it difficult to believe that now poor minority women can afford abortions.
ReplyDeleteWhat I really want to know is why no one has an interest in the abortion rate of wealthy folks because the middle and high school aged children of such folks sure as hell are screwing like rabbits!!! And I'm certain it's high as hell.
This discussion kinda reminds me of the secret and long held fact that among college students, women studying for programs which lead to the Dr. title, have more abortions than all other majors combined. But I guess because this would shine the spotlight on non black women, no one wants to talk about it.
What I really want to know is why no one has an interest in the abortion rate of wealthy folks because the middle and high school aged children of such folks sure as hell are screwing like rabbits!!! And I'm certain it's high as hell.

ReplyDeleteThe differential between the abortion ratio for black women and that for white women has increased from 2.0 in 1989 (the first year for which black and other races were reported separately) to 3.0 in 2000 (51). In addition, the abortion rate for black women has been approximately 3 times as high as that for white women (range: 2.6--3.1) since 1991 (the first year for which rates by race were published) (52). These rates by race are substantially lower than rates previously published by NCHS and suggest that the reporting areas for the 2000 report might not be fully representative of the U.S. black female population of reproductive age. Census Bureau estimates and birth certificate data indicate that the large majority of Hispanic women report themselves as white (7). Therefore, data for some white women actually represent Hispanic women.

The people you call pro-life are not for the lives of anyone.
ReplyDeleteThey're not against the death penalty, even though many people on death row have already been proven innocent. They're not against war. They're not out there helping single mothers (or, for that matter, single fathers). They're not for better health care for all or meal programs for the ginormous numbers of people including children who suffer from poor nutrition or just not enough food.
They're for government intervention in the health decisions of women and the workplace of these doctors. And they want every pregnancy to go to term no matter what.
We need to stop referring to them as pro-life and call them what they really are: forced birthers.
anon11:46,
ReplyDeleteJust where do they those statistics come from. Private doctors in which private insurance pays for? Or from clinics and hospitals? Is the DNC counted, which can happen for very early pregnancies. It also is used to solve uterine problems which have nothing to do with pregnancy. The same with certain drugs, since they are available in the US now. It would not be know whether the drug would terminate a pregnancy or not, but are those counted.
Until you can state if all those instances and possibly more are counted, then you can not accurately quote any statistics. Most places where you get those numbers will tell you what they have counted.
I find when it comes to defining Black people, scholarship disappears.

I'm sure you were scared of bush and that patriot act. How did that work out for you?
I think people tend to ignore the fact that there is a raising poverty rate in this country, and I do not see many people coming up with solutions to eradicate the problem. It cost money to raise a child, pampers or diapers, formula, and doctor visits because the baby will have to see a doctor at least 8 times during the first year of life. We have mypoic view when you really have to look at the bigger picture. I do not have children because I am not married and it is not financially feasible. I would have to think about childcare because I need to work. Prolife people are against abortion, but have not ideas beyond that. They are not going provide emotional or financial support if a woman should listen to them and keep the baby. They drop her like a bad habit and on to the next person. These are the same people who do not have a collective or communal sense for their fellow man by not supporting childcare and healthcare. They are the first oones to talk about what would Jesus do, but serving mankind isn't one of them. If anything I learned in my life that it is everyone's interest that their fellow person does well. It is to everyone's benefit and think it is something that Jesus knew.

Nearly half of all pregnancies to American women are unintended; four in 10 of these end in abortion.
About half of American women have experienced an unintended pregnancy, and at current rates more than one-third (35%) will have had an abortion by age 45.
Overall unintended pregnancy rates have stagnated over the past decade, yet unintended pregnancy increased by 29% among poor women while decreasing 20% among higher-income women.
In 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed, down from 1.31 million abortions in 2000.
Nine in 10 abortions occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
A broad cross section of U.S. women have abortions:
56% of women having abortions are in their 20s;
61% have one or more children;
67% have never married;
57% are economically disadvantaged;
88% live in a metropolitan area; and
78% report a religious affiliation.

NO CONSPIRACY THEORIES NEEDED: HIGHER ABORTION RATES AMONG WOMEN OF COLOR REFLECT HIGHER RATES OF UNINTENDED PREGNANCY
Improving Access to High-Quality, Affordable Contraceptive Services Among Steps Needed to Reduce Health Disparities
Abortion rates among racial and ethnic minorities, especially blacks and Hispanics, are higher than rates among white women and are directly related to their higher rates of unintended pregnancy, according to a new Guttmacher policy analysis.
The findings run counter to claims by antiabortion activists that high abortion rates among minorities are the result of supposed aggressive marketing by abortion providers to minority communities. Instead, disproportionately high rates of both unintended pregnancy and abortion are just one symptom of broader health disparities ranging from sexually transmitted infections to diabetes and heart disease.
“There really is no need to resort to far-flung conspiracy theories. Behind virtually every abortion is an unintended pregnancy. And because women of color are much more likely to experience unintended pregnancies than any other group, they are also more likely to seek and obtain abortions than any other group,” says Susan A. Cohen, author of the new analysis. “Fundamentally, the question policymakers should be asking is not why women of color have high abortion rates, but rather what can be done to help them have fewer unintended pregnancies and achieve better health outcomes more generally.”
Guttmacher research shows that many women of color, who are also disproportionately low-income, are unable to afford prescription birth control methods, such as the IUD, that are highly effective over extended time periods but have high up-front costs. Unstable life situations, in which consistent use of contraceptives is a lower priority than simply getting by, can also be a factor. Beyond access to affordable contraceptives, however, dissatisfaction with the quality of services and the methods themselves may be at least as much an impediment to their consistent and correct use.
“Minority women are among the most likely to experience frequent life changes and to be dissatisfied with their contraceptive method,” notes Cohen. “Either of these factors can result in women’s skipping pills or not using a condom every time. Some women are also dissatisfied with their provider, a problem often made worse by cultural or linguistic barriers that can lead to frustration and poor follow-through on contraceptive use.”
Narrowing the gaps in access, quality and health outcomes is essential and a priority in the public health community, according to Cohen. Barriers to access to health care, including financial and geographic hurdles, remain a significant issue, particularly among minority communities. But, according to Cohen, there is increasing recognition that the quality of care plays a major role in health-seeking behavior and health outcomes.
“One thing is for sure,” says Cohen. “Antiabortion activists in minority communities who are trying to protect African American women and Latinas from themselves by restricting access to safe and legal abortion have it backward. They should instead focus their efforts on reducing the disparities in access to quality health care and in health outcomes more broadly. And if they are most concerned about the disproportionately high abortion rates, they should begin by advocating for improved access to high-quality contraceptive services to reduce the disproportionately high rates of unintended pregnancy in these communities.”

What's with the pause (you know the comma means pause) and then "regardless of color." Hmmm!
You know the more you type the more you expose who you are what you really think.
Bennett, "If the God you believe in is a "Just God, a Merciful God" then there's really no problem with abortion. Such a God would not allow a "soul" to be destroyed, but would simply direct it to a more viable opportunity."
ReplyDeleteThe God you have defined who thinks and behaves in the way you think and behave, is not a God at all… It is YOU. Hence, your God is NOT My God. My God says, “Thou shalt NOT kill.” That truth has been pretty straight forward for me to live by. What can complicate things is the desire to rid oneself of something that is inconvenient, such as the life of an unborn child. At one level of consciousness, it may be ok to kill a child, according to Roe vs Wade. At a higher level of consciousness, it is WRONG and it becomes internally bothersome, and creates anarchy in the heart and mind.
You see, we wouldn’t be having this discussion if it didn’t bother a LOT of people about the murderous killings of babies in America. And it goes BEYOND any political affiliation, even though you may NEED to make such a case, in order to justify and feel ok for snuffing out innocent human life. So save your arrogant logic and reason about God, it does not sway my decision to NOT participate in murderous abortions, or to approve of it.

Personally, I think the high abortion rates in inner cities is a symptom of moral collapse and the destruction of the family. Black church leader are failing their community. Some people come in to help, and all you can see is some racist political plot. Hopeless.

I have a question for all the pro-abortion people, where do you live that birth control is such a hard thing to get. I live in the South, in the bible belt, in the capitol city, and for as long I can remember, our local health departments have offered "free" birth control to the poorer populations.
ReplyDeleteI would think that if such "backward" thinking areas such as Alabama can offer these services to women for "free" then surely more "forward" thinking metropolitan areas offer just as much. And for God's sake, name a store that doesn't sell condoms? A box of condoms is what 3 bucks for a six pack? And last, not wanting someone to have an abortion isn't the same as not wanting abortions to exist. Some of us really simply wish these men and women would take the precautions available to them preventing such decisions from ever having being made, that is what some of us who advocate these women not rely on such services truly do.
Field, so you only want women to have the “right” to abort, if they should choose? Well, the law has been passed, giving women the right, and many have been aborting-- because it is “their right”. But IS it “right”?
ReplyDeleteI suspect that underneath all of the discussions, accusations, and presuppositions lies the desire in the human heart to do the "right" thing--to transcend the complicated task of justifying ourselves to BE “right”.
There is a big difference in levels of consciousness because there is the question of: ‘what is moral and what is not?--"regardless" of what has been legalized by Roe vs. Wade.
IMHO, this Supreme Court Law has caused havoc in the national conscience, because abortion is a 'violent act'. It is a violent thought and action that goes against moral law. It kills innocent children under the protection of a murderous American law- that has left the nation feeling queasy in mind and heart. It is not ok, and it goes beyond politics.

"A broad cross section of U.S. women have abortions:

61% have one or more children;
67% have never married;
57% are economically disadvantaged;
88% live in a metropolitan area; and

That figure of religious affiliation is 100% Christian, with 90% being Catholics. Yep, Roe vs Wade has added another religious side to life in America.
"It is YOU. Hence, your God is NOT My God. My God says, “Thou shalt NOT kill.” That truth has been pretty straight forward for me to live by. What can complicate things is the desire to rid oneself of something that is inconvenient, such as the life of an unborn child."

"So save your arrogant logic and reason about God, it does not sway my decision to NOT participate in murderous abortions, or to approve of it."
Spoken like a true MAN.
" Do the world a favor any confine your incoherent, rambling advice to the racist cretins who slavishly follow this website."
Do you see the irony of that statement, slave?
"Personally, I think the high abortion rates in inner cities is a symptom of moral collapse and the destruction of the family. Black church leader are failing their community. Some people come in to help, and all you can see is some racist political plot. Hopeless."
Yep, so lets just add another child to that broken family. *shaking head*
Black people may begin by educating all Black male children to understand white supremacy and by putting increased pressure on Black males to recognize their role as husbands and fathers. This understanding means that Black men must work and provide support for their families, which the white collective attempts to prevent them from doing. Males who do not demand and fight, if necessary, to have jobs cannot become husbands or fathers. Most certainly, teenage male children cannot become parents, which means that Black females will have to learn when and under what circumstances they should relate to Black males in the act of sexual intercourse and self reproduction.
ReplyDeleteThis internal pressure to preserve the role of Black manhood becomes a means by which the concept of Black manhood is developed and preserved by Black people themselves. This activity will counter the thrust of the Black male as
female
clown
infant
buffoon
transvestite
homosexual
Black males who are unwilling to fight for their manhood are thereby indicating that they debase Black manhood and will not be able to teach it to the next generation. These males do not deserve the privilege of procreating themselves, and this should be enforced by all Black females who are self-respecting.
White supremacy is war against Black people in general and against Black males in particular, as embodied in such tactics and strategies as justifiable homicide. It will require a total commitment and counter war effort on the part of all Black people to neutralize, by every means at their disposal, this war of racist injustice.
As Black people, we also can adopt the defintion that under the conditions of white supremacy, Black manhood does not mean macho or money, but instead it means warrior or soldier against white supremacy, embracing everything that the words warrior or soldier imply. Those who do not wish to be warriors or soldiers should not procreate themselves, as their offspring can be expected to be destroyed by white supremacy anyway. This is by no means a definitive statement or Black response to justifiable homicide, but it is an attempt to elevate the discussion on this specific white supremacy war strategy. Further discussion amongst Black people will help to define all necessary Black behavioral response.(Welsing pg. 190)

Anon the last thing anyone could say about me is that I am intellectually challenged or morally illiterate. I don't believe there is anyone who comes to this blog that will agree with you.
The truth is you hate me because I am a proud black man who is in fact intelligent and extremely moral. So moral that I won't pretend that black is white or that white is black.
You really hate me because I call you out and expose you for who you really are a bigoted hypocrite. You come to this blog and pretend to be interested in the issues that are discussed, but yet you have one song you sing and that is always to "blame the victim" or to point out so-called black ineptitude.
You never accept that racism and discrimination are real problems in the US or that racism does have an effect on folks, while you run around spouting racist assumptions, lies and fables.
You are what Matthew was talking about in chapter 25, always running around saying Lord, Lord, but yet have no time or compassion for those who are struggling and who have been put upon by society or are sick, are hungry or homeless or are wrongfully imprisoned or mistreated by the unjust policies of society.
It makes perfect since that you would be an advocate of the unborn. You can't seem to stand most people who are outside of the womb.
And I know that it really bothers you and you absolutely hate that a black man can talk to you anyway he feels like on this site and just about anywhere. I will speak my mind on this site and any where else I please and everytime you put your bigoted fingers to a keyboard and type out something hateful, narrow or specious I will be there to call you on it.

ReplyDeleteThat is funny, but you know what I mean, lol. As I said before, I do not believe anyone likes abortion, and for someone who is pro-choice I think the number of abortion is too high, however that means people are not using birth control. There is no compromising with pro-life people who believe that birth control is a form of abortion, but abstinence is acceptable when in theory of their arugment is birth control as well. The question should be asked is how to reduce the number of abortion. However, in the end, it is a woman's choice whether you like or not, we do not get to decide. I am also a believer in not telling a woman that should not have a child which means force sterilization. It is not the state's right to tell a woman that should or should not have a child. Some people who are pro-life do not understand the meaning of life beyond just being here and breathing. These people are more interested in telling everyone what to do then actually helping and supporting others. I use the term unchristian christians who do not understand how to look at another individual in his or her full humanity, being self-righteous is more important than serving mankind, but that is just my humble opinion. Taking care of others is emotional hardwork, and it is easier to be judgemental and tell other people who to live their lives when they do not know what that means.

ReplyDeleteI feel you the point is what do we do to help young women and young men make better choices.
I mean contraceptives should be dirt cheap or free. I have known some young women who admitted to me that they weren't on the pill because they couldn't afford it. It shocked the crap out of me.
Contraception should be made available and encouraged. As a minister I can encourage folks not to sleep with someone unless they really love that person and of course it would be best if they were married. But its not the world we live in. So I also tell them if you can't be careful make sure you use contraception and protection.
I feel the folks who bemoan the loss of so much potential black life but I don't think the alternative trade off is a good thing.

HEY BENNET!!!
ReplyDeleteYour arguments are ultimately intellectually fraudulent.
You make the case that a woman who commits a "vacuum assisted - nutritional separation against the gestating 'mass of tissue' in her womb" needs to WORK IT OUT WITH HER GOD.
Let's PRETEND for a second that you actually believe this rather than practicing "intellectual punting".
Let us now factor in what "Evangelist Jody" said.
Bennett WHAT IF the "Christian who FAILS to help out a poor, struggling mother with her newborn is indeed committing a violation of Christianity BUT he/she chooses to PUNT this shameful act up for GOD TO HANDLE AS WELL?
Do you now see the fraudulence in your argument?
What your argument is deduced to is that:
* You are going to "Jesus-ify" the social and political issues that YOU don't want to handle
* For those things that you support by the so-called Christian fails to do - you will bring out your bible and BEAT him up side the head with it.
One thing I notice about certain people is that when it comes to STANDARDS/RULES - they seek to point to a person's FAILINGS to uphold one set of rules and then ask that this person in question NOT 'hate on them' for the rules that they are violating.
YOU demand that the rules that YOU want to be enforced be done as such. For the other rules that you don't like YOU are like the lawyer at the funeral who sees $10,000 in cash thrown into the casket and then you TAKE IT and then pull out your checkbook and write a check for $30,000 with the words "To GOD" written on the check as you close the casket and thrown dirt upon it so that no one else demands the cash and offers to write a $50,000 CASHIER'S CHECK, with the claim that theirs is more certified than yours.

I was doing research on a name for you and I have so many to choose from.
Then I saw this web site that asked "Have You Ever Seen A Purple Cow"?
http://www.thepurplestore.com/purplecow.shtml
Dude - put down the mushrooms and K2.
So here is where I am struggling.
I have so many synonyms for purple to choose from:
mauve
amethyst
lilac
heliotrope
empurple
porphyrous
fuchsia
I like "Porphyrous Bovine" or "Mauve Bovine"
or I can keep it simply: "Purple Cow Chip".
You tell me, little buddy.
As for understanding me when I write I say this:
Many times a text book is content complete minus a few typographical errors that the authors will fix in the next edition.
MOST TIMES the problem resides with the reader and the questions of his capacity to allow information to flow beyond the scar tissue that he has erected in the region of his brain that executes rational thought.

Mel, I don't know about you, but personally, I would faint.****
As usual the stupid HNs jump on a bandwagon that is heading over a precipice. The problem with HNs like Catherine Davis and the good Rev. Johnny Hunter is that when when white folks espouse some "fact"as it regards black people (these "facts" always presents a negative perception of our race) they accept it as "gospel".
ReplyDeletenow let us examine this particular "fact" about our race.
The current "fact" states that black people are an "endangered species" because of abortion. This particular fact has nothing to do with "saving" the black race but rather to further demish the standing of the black race in Amerikkka. How so?
1. According to pro-choice groups (same people that provided this "fact) Abortions is an immoral unsavory, and sinful act against God. Those who partake are not worthy of the salvation of the sweet lord Jesus.
2. Apparently due to abortion the black race is becoming extinct. For this to be true that mean that black women (ergo the black race) would therefore be undertaking abortions in higher rate than the other races combined.
3. Therefore if the black race undertake abortions more than the other race combined. Then based on point 1. the black race in America is the most immoral, unsavory, and sinful race, not worthy of the love of sweet Jesus. Who is apparently WHITE.
Welcome to Amerikkka
CF "Mellaneous, Mellaneous, Mellaneous - where do I start with you?"
ReplyDeleteWhy bother? he has proven that he is a fraud-and an illogical one at that. A wall makes more sense than mellaneous.
How would you like to be one of his deacons during one of his "straight from the UPPER ROOM" sermons? I bet money that you could not be able to keep a straight face. LOL..LOL
HN: But JC the statistics "prove" that black women do more abortions than any other race.
ReplyDeleteJC: You are a dumbass. The history of America should have taught you that any "scientific data" ,including statistics, as it refers to the black race should be viewed with an air of skepticism. How many "scientific data" "proved: for many years that the black race was a sub-human. Or that blacks could not serve in the military because it was "scientifically proven" that blacks had poor night vision or did not have the mental capacity to operate complex machinery such as aircraft, tanks , and ships.
As to the abortion data that is likely skewed. The reason for this is that the data (collected by the federal govt) is often collected from public health doctors and facilities or charities/foundations who have such abortion facilities. The data often does not include data from private doctors or private facilities.
As it relates to public facilities a large proportion of the black population does not have insurance or the money to access private health care therefore they take advantage of public facilities when seeking abortion. Whites on the other hand have historically had better access to private health care and would more likely seek abortion at a private health facility not polled by such government surveys.
Plus there is this example form my own personal experience:
I had a friend named Ramesh, a doctor, who I used to go to high school with back home in Jamaica. Couple of years later we ran into each other and he provided this interesting story. He got this job at a private clinic in a neighborhood that was mostly white with a middle to upper income social set.One day while he was a the clinic a lady(white( came with her daughter about 14 years old the exchange went sown like this :
Lady: I think my daughter has ulcers
Ramesh: Ok well let me examine her and confirms this
Lady: You don't need to examine her.She has ulcers just prescribe her Cytotec (a medication used for ulcers)
At this point my friend is taken aback.Anyway he ignores the mother and does a quit examination. It is his opinion that the girl is pregnant.
Lady: She is not pregnant she has ulcer. You don't know anything I am leaving.
A couple days later he sees the same lady with the girl leaving the office has he pulls in. Feeling like something was off he goes in the office and finds the girls file and he found that one of the doctors prescribed Cytotec.
Now for those who don't know. Cytotec although it is a ulcer medication in particular doses it can induce abortions.
When Ramesh did some more digging he found a large number of the white females some as young as 13 years with most between the ages 15 years to 35 years in the community seemed to have suffered from "ulcers" at one time or another and many with "frequent bouts" of ulcers that required Cytotec
What my friend found was a slick way in which the whites of that community found a way have their abortions. So if any one tried to find any info on abortions at that particular clinic all they would find was a whole lot of "ulcers"
Now if those whites figured that out.How many private clinics in white suburbs have already picked up and are practicing that little
Field Negro, You can try to Denounce my opinion with a (PRAY for me ISEEISEE all you want, but, YOU need to CHECK yourself! oh, you love it, when these White woman come on your Blog and agree with you, YOU Love it, when they Pat you on your back, in other word's, you love it when they Stroke your EGO! oh, and you can't wait to respond back to them in a (Shuffling manner)! oh, I know you are being Sarcastic when you say (Pray for me ISEEISEE)! but, I give you a pass!

ReplyDeleteWell, it looks like it's just us, because I did some net searches and I didn't find any cry of outrage from any leaders or groups or nobody! Nada! Nope,I would have imagined they'd be all over this by now and the billboards on the way down, but it looks like nobody cares enough, they aren't looking, aren't feeling, ???? :(( so it's just us.
Field, "Mel, I don't know about you, but personally, I would faint.****"
ReplyDeleteDear Field, I am one of your most loyal blog fans and will be in Philly next week. Could we meet for coffee or drinks downtown at a restaurant with a view of Broad Street? I want to see where you made your famous run.
Btw, I am one of many Americans who is against War, the Death Penalty, and against Abortion. Please bring your doctor to revive you.:)))
Surely you know there are many like myself in America? I think you were joking with CF and Mell. Right?
[quote: Alicia]i would pit my superb trilingual skills…
ReplyDeleteAlicia, are you seriously suggesting that the ability to speak just three languages represents ‘superb skills’? I speak five (or seven if you count Afrikaans and Flemish as being separate from Dutch which some people do) and I’m not exactly a linguist.
[quote:Alicia] look at his flaming dl gay blog it needs it own beard too!!!
It’s a cricket blog Alicia. A blog about cricket. Now I know how you Septics think. "Real men play American sports, and if you follow any non-American sport you must be gay." But let me tell you that cricket, as the world’s fastest growing sport with the world’s fastest growing TV audience is played by more than 2 billion people world wide. Many of those will be gay and Lesbian, indeed I coached a Lesbian cricket team for two seasons back in Amsterdam. I’ve played cricket with and against gay men all my adult life, but cricket isn’t a gay sport. It’s a sport for intelligent people everywhere.
[quote; Alicia] call lesbians anything you want we could not care less
As I pointed out above I don’t call Lesbians anything except Lesbians. Unlike you I do not approve of, nor do I practice homophobia. Your hatred of Gay and transsexual men is frankly quite bizarre, given how much time you spend ranting against prejudice towards Lesbians.
[quote: Anon] God still exists even though thousands of Purple Cows deny His existence. PC, you are cheating yourself.
Actually there are a couple of billion of us, who believe in rationality, rather than wizards and fairies above the sky, how does my not believing in the great flying sky wizard cheat me?
Hey Purple Bovine: I have to let you in on some background information. I was doing research on a name for you and I have so many to choose from.
12?
13?
Any danger of you growing up and learning to debate like an adult anytime soon?
I’ve met a lot of pseudo-intellectual charlatans like you over the years. You resort to fixating on red-herrings such as the name of my avatar, simply to distract attention form the intellectual bankruptcy of your arguments.
[quote: Constructive Feedback] MOST TIMES the problem resides with the reader and the questions of his capacity to allow information to flow beyond the scar tissue that he has erected in the region of his brain that executes rational thought.
C.F. by your own admission you believe in the great space wizard in the sky above us.
That means you lose the right to lecture people on rationality, buddy.
There is it.
ReplyDelete
I think that ad is absolutely outrageous and infuriating and wrong on SO many levels! It should be taken down IMEDIATELY!.
CactusRose - ON WHAT BASIS would you use to TAKE THIS POSTER DOWN?
I take it that you have no respect for the 1st Amendment?
If I show you various pictures of known "Hip Hop Voice Of The Street Pirates" who sight that I am offended by BECAUSE they call Black women out of their name for commercial speech purposes - can I count on you to demand a take down?
How dare these animals use ANY minority in such a nefarious way?
STRANGE how Filled Negro, Racism Chaser Extraordinaire did not catch YOU calling this BLACK GROUP of Pro-Lifers ANIMALS.
I guess they are "FREE RANGE BLACKS". If they don't agree with filled Negro - White Liberals like you and Janeane Garofalo are free to call them "animals" and other such names that would get a Republican headline feature on the Filled Negro Propaganda blog.
For Filled Negro - it is not one's SKIN COLOR but one's IDEOLOGY that provides COVER under his veil.
To paraphrase Dr. Phil; just how are those true preachers working for the Black community.
ReplyDeleteHathor - you know I like you, right?
Can I ask YOU a question?
HOW MANY "PREACHERS" AND "HEALERS" is the ECO-SYSTEM of the Black Community producing ORGANICALLY? The proportion is important because it would show the BOTH OF US how much inline the ESTABLISHMENT that influences the HUMAN RESOURCES inside via the INSTITUTIONS that they now control are with regards to the NEEDS OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
Here is what I don't understand about Jody and Filled Negro. They are always on the march forward for POLITICAL CONTROL over these institutions. They both appear to be more interested in PROGRESSIVE POLITICAL POWER because the more localized institutions that they USED TO protest against when their enemies where in place are now LOOKED PAST after their "victory". Now they are looking forward up to the next run on the ladder to flip an institution at a higher rung - NEVER looking backward and noting how their past scheme has FAILED.
Thus I ask Hathor - WHY EXACTLY do you challenge ME to "put boots on the ground" while you never talk about those who are dropping "purple cow chips" all over our community per their political control yet each passing decades we need taller boots so that the crap doesn't soil our pants.
Look at the term "Community Cultural Consciousness and Competency Domain", Hathor. WHAT about COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT can you point to being delivered by the Progressive Establishment that is making us more DEPENDENT upon reallocated resources and VOTING that these resources might continue?
What is going to happen after this drawing upon the central government causes it to be insolvent? Will the people left ON THE GROUND be able to retain a standard of living that they desire once the BEAST DIES FROM ANEMIA?
As a minister I can encourage folks not to sleep with someone unless they really love that person and of course it would be best if they were married. But its not the world we live in. So I also tell them if you can't be careful make sure you use contraception and protection.
ReplyDeleteI missed the POWER of Mellaneous' statement previously
GET THIS FOLKS.
When it comes to TAX PAYERS - my CBFF (Christian BFF) is SPECIFIC and even DEMANDING that they must do AFFIRMATIVE ACTS to show their concern for the "Least of These"
When it comes to CHRISTIANS who are "hot in the pants" Reverend Mellaneous only MILDLY SUGGESTS to them that they should not commit the sin of adultery, instead he suggests that the male "Wrap It Up" and he can claim that he didn't have sex........ONLY THE CONDOM touched the human flesh that was on the tip of his penis. His penis only touched the prophylactic.
Mellaneous - can you tell us YOUR INTERPRETATION of "Adultery"?
Not trying to play a "Gotcha Game". I am only trying to have a discussion with a "Christian Brother".
I have to also ask you what I asked Granny - who is also a Christian: Our common friend Filled Negro is a non-believer in Christ.
Do you believe that you should be testifying to him about the wonders of believing in Jesus Christ and accepting him as his personal savior?
(I won't even go on to ask if a Defense Attorney could avoid 'bearing false witness' to the court.)

Actually Fuchsia Bovine - if you notice I treat YOU in this way.
I adjust my responses to the level of those contributing to the debate.
You see I would prefer that you TAKE APART my "intellectual bankrupt" arguments rather than TELLING ME that they are "intellectually bankrupt".
Thank you in advance.
I guess now that the sun is down upon the part of the British Empire that you reside in - we'll have to wait until later in the day for your response.

ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, CactusRose - I believe that you are an IGNORANT BIGOT.
1) By what authority do you call for these signs to be taken down?
2) With this being a BLACK GROUP that has put forth this message "Endangered Species" - what typical machinations of "White Oppression" can you use?
3) With so much of the Black Progressive Political Establishment using the metaphor of BLACK DESTRUCTION via:
* Prison
* HIV Infections
* Unemployment
* Failed Schools
WHERE ARE YOU in repudiating THEIR words of "extinction"?
Do you find it strange that, per your own IDEOLOGICAL BIGOTRY you are more active in getting the picture of a Black child taken down than you are in removing the 21 year old version of this same child on a jeans ad, as two males are plotting on getting the jeans off of one female as they all sit on a couch?
* Did this group advertise a BAN on the "Vacuum Assisted Removal Of A Gestating Human Form From Its Nutrition Source - His Mother's Womb"
OR did they attempt to bring CONSCIOUSNESS to the people using hyperbole?
The WORST case scenario in this is that a woman with a gestating human form in her womb might feel GUILTY about DETACHING it from her blood supply.
And YOU say that this is "a bridge too far"?
Wigger Please!!!!
ISEEISEE, please don't tell my wife about the white woman stroking my ego. And continue to pray for me. :)
ReplyDeleteJohn Crow, I love it when you give your comments. So much FACTS. Can you believe it? FACTS! It's a little thing that gets lost in the shuffle around here.
Sprry Anon 10:25pm, I would never agree to meet with an Anon. poster for lunch.(Even in Philly)Bullet proof vests don't go well with my suits.
CF, your obsession with the "street pirate" is getting a little scary. May I suggest therapy?
Dear Mr. Feedback; I am indeed honored. Let me just preface this by saying that I hold you in high esteem, I feel you are a skilled debater as well as always grammatically correct, which means that either you received a private education, where the teachers are held accountable, or, you are from my generation give or take a few years, when the public education system actually taught! But I digress.
ReplyDeleteI have, I believe, mentioned here or there that I am not into politics. I could really care less at this point.
As per your mention of the almighty 1st amendment. Well let me just say that as a triple minority, my 1st amendment has been trampled on so many times so as to be virtually unrecognizable by me. As you can see, I no longer hold any illusions Mr. Feedback. Perhaps you can relate to this, I fear not, but oh well, such is life.
The beautiful child in that poster Mr. Feedback is being utilized as political propaganda. In my book, this is child abuse. Where are that child’s rights?
Political propaganda against a particular party as well as women’s rights. Rights that have already been established as laws of this land. Are they not being violated by this billboards message? I won’t even go into the message of derogatory innuendo towards women/families of color.
And again, please bear in mind, and I make the disclaimer, that I am not savvy on laws or politics, my field of knowledge is health, so my contribution to this or any blog is usually either medical or purely raw emotion, from the heart and gut. Not always rational and/or logical, but I do feel, entirely valid and necessary just the same.
You take umbrage at my usage of the word “animal “to describe the authors of this heinous crime, and I apologize, to the animals, because to call these people “animals” is to insult the animal kingdom. Let’s just call them raw sewage instead.
[quote: Constructive Feedback]You see I would prefer that you TAKE APART my "intellectual bankrupt" arguments rather than TELLING ME that they are "intellectually bankrupt".
ReplyDeleteSo would I.
Should the day ever dawn when you construct a rational argument worthy of the name, rather than the pseudo-mystical codswallop you knew normally attempt to drown us all out with - rest assured I will deconstruct it.
Socialist dialectic, innit.
which means that either you received a private education, where the teachers are held accountable, or, you are from my generation give or take a few years, when the public education system actually taught!
ReplyDeleteNOPE.
I graudated from Robert E Lamberton High In Philly at a time when it offered QUALITY education.
I went to a STATE college, but avoided becoming an "Affirmative Action admission" because I graduated high school in the "National Honor Society". Pretty good for a Black male - huh?
You have to also consider my time spent working as a CORPORATE CO-CONSPIRATOR, stealing money from customers for services that we get them DEPENDENT upon. I assure you that you use what I distribute, sending you a monthly invoice for funds that COULD HAVE GONE to the government for better use - in your view.
SURELY YOU JEST CactusRose?
You say that THIS CHILD is being used for "Propaganda Purposes"?
Yet you have litle problem if, BUT FOR THE SAKE OF TIME and the CHOICE of his mother to not detach him from her womb walls which supply the nutrition that is needed for his growth....that handsome face would NOT BE AVAILABLE for the PICTURE that exploits him.
Your argument that since OTHERS HAVE MOLESTED THE 1ST AMENDMENT for their own purposes that YOU should return the favor is antithetical. I thought that laws were meant to be FOLLOWED; those who BREAK THE LAW should have their actions PUNISHED.
Short of you REMOVING THE LAWS from the books or SUPPLANTING a "foul" Amendment with a new one that trumps it - I don't follow your argument?
Do you see CactusRose - you make passing mention of ANARCHY against the very system that provides you with remedy if someone were to ASSAULT YOU for your words or your rights.
You (and Melleneous) are conflicted by your dual role as a DEPENDENT upon the Beast as well as a "Dragon Slayer".
CF, your obsession with the "street pirate" is getting a little scary. May I suggest therapy?
ReplyDeleteFilled Negro: it would be better if I just STOPPED READING THE NEWS and thus observing all of the "Pirate Attacks". In my isolation from reality I could simply read your blog and then key in upon "racism chasing", eating the flavored chum that you dispense.
"I thought that laws were meant to be FOLLOWED; those who BREAK THE LAW should have their actions PUNISHED."
ReplyDeleteExactly! Roe V. Wade, remember? Tell that to one of your wingnut friends the next time they they decide to blow up a Planned Parenthood clinic. ;)
BTW, you seem to be very proud of your academic accomplishments, not to mention the fact that you weren't a product of af.action. (sounds a lot like Justice Thomas)Five stars for CF. :)
pestering reeking maggot infested cowpie:

MOOOOOOOOOOOve on u busted bovine bottom/feeder!
HEY FILLED NEGRO!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't forgotten about your SPERM CELLS, released during "self-induced tactile stimulation of the nerve endings of one's penis".
You argued that THEY should be considered just as santified as the one cell that swims up the vaginal canal and successfully finds the ovum, thus becoming a zygote per their combination.
Filled Negro - when YOU reach the point at which the sperm cell is inferiorized as such as you claim then I will believe you. Imagine the Indian national hotelier that purchases used condoms from Black males who do a "hook up" at their hotels. He contracts with an entity that does experiements on this "wasted bit of liquid" that usually ends up on towels or dripping down legs - putting this "genetic communication" material into better use as EXPERIMENTS.
You see Filled Negro I need for you to make a CHOICE of your own. Though you and I will never experience the sensation of another living being gestating in our womb - since we don't have one WE DO HAVE A CHOICE.
1) We DISAGGREGATE the human form into its BASE COMPONENTS
2) We RESPECT the entire human form with due dilligence, throughout the various life cycle phases of his creation, living and demise into dust.
You see Filled Negro - I argued during the various "Obama Monkey" attacks that it is strage for a person who believes in EVOLUATION to then argue that it is offensive to taunt a Black person as a monkey. If we buy into the notion of EVOLUATION - then there was no "ACCOMPLISHMENT" done by the human form to distance himself from the MONKEY.
Only TIME made this distinction. We merely have to allow the MONKEY to catch up.
Likewise, Filled Negro, Hathor, Jody and Mellaenous - IF we disaggregate the gestating human form into merely CELLS then how do you logically add more respect to this mass of cells simply because:
* His mother chose not to disconnect it from her womb walls
* He was allowed via TIME to develop his lungs and thus was cut from his feeding tube
* He now stands as a MASS OF TISSUE that is free standing
Jody - please tell me HOW this "free form MASS OF CELLS" deverse any more RESPECT per SOCIAL JUSTICE THEORY than when it was a DEPENDANT, attached to the womb of its mother, sucking off of her blood supply?
Let me imagine what my friend Mellaneous might say on this matter: As ADVANCED ANIMALS - man achieves a higher state of existence than does his cousins in the mammalian world by leveraging our HIGH ORDER RATIONAL THOUGHTS which are not available:
* In the LION that kills the young that were produced by the sperm cells of another male
As with society - there is no ABSOLUTES. There are only OUTCOMES that are derived from MANAGED HUMAN RESOURCES.
Sadly - some of you are UNWILLING to press upon "The Least Of These" to HOLD THEIR LOINS, redirecting their desire to 'share body fluids' in the expression of TACTILE STIMULATION with the one that they have high emotion for - demanding that they look at how the outcomes work to CONTINUE THE CYCLE that they are trapped within.
assnons are retarded
ReplyDeletethat is why they think lesbians want men/care what men want/say etc
shame!
In a classic essay entitled, “I Am Your Sister: Black Women Organizing Across Sexualities” [Burst of Light. 1988. Firebrand Books: Ithaca, NY], renowned scholar, poet, and author Audre Lorde wrote:
“When I say I am a Black Lesbian, I mean I am a woman whose primary focus of loving, physical as well as emotional, is directed to women. It does not mean I hate men. Far from it. The harshest attacks I have ever heard against Black men come from those women who are emotionally bound to them and cannot free themselves from a subservient and silent position. I would never presume to speak about Black men the way I have heard some of my straight sisters talk about the men they are attracted to. And of course that concerns me, because it reflects a situation of noncommunication in the heterosexual community that is far more truly threatening than the existence of Black Lesbians.”
Jody:
ReplyDeleteWhy not tell them that GEORGE BUSH wills them to remain BAREFOOT AND PREGNANT and thus they must PROVE HIM WRONG by not getting pregnant!!!!!! Instead of impressing upon them as such YOU (Jody) seek to make them "UNBAREFOOT" by redistributing societal resources to them. If they choose to become "UNPREGNANT" via the "Vacuum Powered Slave Catcher" you are game for this because it enhances WOMEN'S RIGHTS and power over their own bodies.
Where are your FEMINIST leanings in which you tell the women to WAIT to have sex until the MAN has fully shown that he respects the woman's full intellectual capacities as aa EQUAL HUMAN BEING to him?
If "Rock The Vote" suggests people withhold sex to those who oppose the Heath Care Bill - why not argue the same with regard to their consideration of HER standing as an equal? This alone would have a measurable impact on pregnancy.
It is so telling that the construction of more ORDERED RELATIONSHIPS by which this "body fluid exchange" might be limited to is seen as SUPPRESSIVE. Yet the documented avoidance of some of the dysfunction that results from this lack of cultural regulaton is placed upon the GOVERNMENT to address via REDISTRUTION.
Thus proving once against that in your mind GOVERNMENT is SUPERIOR to the will of the INDIVIDUAL to yield from his animal instincts so that more compelling outcomes might be had by the whole.
My friend Mellaenous doesn't mind a HEAVY HANDED GOVERNMENT upon the wealthy but he would not DARE use the "belt of God" to whip any of "The Least Of These" into shape. Can you imagine Mellaneous saying "This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you?"
CF--what is your position on birth control? should it be available for free in low income areas? do you agree with free condom distribution?
ReplyDeletehow about sex ed in schools? at what age, and how explicit? should kids be taught how to put one on?
what are your strategies for reducing the unwanted and unintentional pregnancies?
and JC--even if think numbers lie, take HALF of what the stats show. say black women at 9% of the pop only have 18% of the abortions, not 35%. do you still claim black women don't have more abortions than other races?
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThe way to prevent abortion is not to ban them but to make them unnecessary. The Netherlands has a system of abortion on demand, no questions asked, and yet it has the lowest abortion rate in the world about 5 per 1000 women of reproductive age.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for those excellent statistics is broadly as follows:
1. 50% of all junior schools (ages 4 to 11) and 100% of senior schools (ages 11 – 18) teach the basics of good sexual health and contraception.
2. Special family planning programs identify and target high-risk teenagers.
3. Having a proper socialized medicine system means that contraceptives can be offered by offered by G.P.’s confidentially and free of charge, to all sexually active girls and women.
4. The government commissions large-scale, non-moralizing, sexual health campaigns that are positive towards teenage sexual behavior.
5. The mass media regularly addresses adolescent sexuality and pregnancy preventive behavior.
6. The sterilization rate amongst women of childbearing age (25%) is much higher than in other industrialized nations.
So the evidence is pretty clear. To prevent abortions, you need to educate and empower girls and young women, you need to encourage them to have safe sex (rather than those idiotic and hypocritical sexual abstinence programs),you need to provide free contraceptives on demand, and free sterilization procedures.
In short if you are really serious about stopping abortions you need to leave your right wing moralizing and religious hang-ups at the door.
Of course you could just carry on murdering doctors and bombing abortion clinics instead.
That's worked really well for you so far.

ReplyDeleteFilled Negro:
A few years ago the Atlanta Black Alumni Association of my school hosted the Black guy who was the "Dean Of Students". (He has since retired).
He told us that the "Affirmative Action" program which was crafted in the 1970's was being shelved. Instead of offering admission to loads of Black human forms that have survived their mother's CHOICE to deliver them as they originate from Philly, NYC, and DC - only to see so few of them actually graduate - the administration chose instead to go after Human Forms who have shown competency in their high school performance.
Do you see that the key flaw in your ideological pronouncements is that it FAILS to develop LOCAL COMPETENCY among the people, instead growing in POWER politically.
With you controlling more of the high schools that these "tissue in human life form" now attend are not producing indiviuals who can compete with others who have not been receving messages of their inferiority.
Do you see the cost of your "LEAST OF THESE" Political Feeding Programs?
CF--what is your position on birth control? should it be available for free in low income areas? do you agree with free condom distribution?
ReplyDeleteMaria:
I am technically PRO-CHOICE.
I DO NOT THINK THAT THE GOVERNMENT should come in and make these medical procedures ILLEGAL - any more than I think that it should arrest parents who's religious views cause them to reject a medical procedure that is considered "the norm".
In watching "Democracy Now" I was forced to agree with the guest who went around the country documenting laws that sought to arrest women and charging them with murder due to various neonatal failure to care issue. I HAD TO AGREE WITH HER in the spirit of intellectual honesty!!!!
Maria:
My views on "free birth control" is consistent with my views of COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITY.
Why did these people TAKE CONTROL OVER the communities in question IF they are INSOLVENT and INCOMPETENT in obtaining the STANDARD OF LIVING that they seek using the capabilities of the HUMAN RESOURCES that they have at their disposal to accomplish this?
It is clear that they don't have a problem with DEPENDENCY. They have a problem with the lack of a VOICE that the SLAVE had in regard to his source of CONTROL. By having the GOVERNMENT be obligated to provide these resources for free - YET NOT ASK ONE DAMNED THING from those who seek TACTILE STIMULATION OF THEIR GENETIALS - this shows CONTEMPT for the EQUAL HUMANITY of those who suffer the impact of these choies.
I like my friends Jody, LAC, Ernesto and Mellaenous but it is all too clear that they use the guise of ECONOMIC CLASS to hide their belief in the inability.
Don't you see that ECONOMIC STANDING is derived from somoene SEEING A NEED and then supplying it to those who are consumers? (Wait until I publish my pictures of the local Flea Market where the Koreans are supplying the "Pants On The Ground" and the various Obama T-Shirts. I am not mad at them!!!! They are filling a void.)

how about sex ed in schools? at what age, and how explicit? should kids be taught how to put one on?
I would rather see a COMMUNITY OVERLAY (churches, activists, fraternal organizations) TAKE CONTROL over sectors of our community (think the highway maintenance signs): At the corner of 52nd and Market Street -This 5 block segment of West Philly managed by: "The Filled Negro Philosophers".
The Government Operated Schools are still run by the GOVERNMENT.
Maria - we as a people need to switch our CONSCIOUSESS away from the "American Political Domain" and over to the "Community Cultural Consciousness and Competence Domain".

Maria:
I am not opposed to "Social Engineering". I am opposed to GOVERNMENT INITIATED Social Engineering.
With the later there is no way to avoid being compromised as a resultof it all.
What you are looking at is a VOID of "Human Resource Management" and thus the unsavory results that happen as a consequence.
I believe that the way to MITIGATE this problem is to have a far more aggressive ORGANIC movement of CONSCIOUSNESS among the people.
Just as the post-Katrina t-shirts said "We All We Got" - this needs to be adopted at the COMMUNITY level. Kids are full of hormones. The challenge is to keep them FOCUSED on the larger goals of the community and away from the pitfalls.
I am not opposed to the Progressvie INTENTIONS. I merely believe that your various "Boil The Ocean" stategies ultimately undercut your effectiveness. You need to partion the land and MANAGE the parcels. Strive to achieve the ends by producing them INSIDE OF THE PLOT.
The national standard will be raised once the conditions within the plot are looked at in aggregate.
Maria:
The Korean Tae Kwan Do teacher that my kids go to has it made. He just recently started an after school program. Now his van goes to the elementary and middle schools to pick up the kids. He takes them to his school where they do their homework AND practice. They are in an ADULT MANAGED ENVIRONMENT fro the end of school until the parents come and get them (ie: 6:30pm).
In addition to their existing TKD tuition the $100 per week that the Public School HAD been receiving goes to him (plus $50 more). This is worth it due to the transportation that he provides.
Programs like this (particularly for HS kids) have a suppressive effect on teen preganancy.
Bottom line we need more "diversions" and then we can DEAL COMPASSIONATELY WITH THE EXECPTIONS.
On the issue of MONEY to run these places - those in the community which stand to benefit must choose to recongize the benefit of their adult contriubtion into keeping the community going and thus over time the average standard of living will improve. To have adults within TUNED OUT from their HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT role is the reason for the present predicament.
Poor old alicia.
ReplyDeleteThe ad hominem attack appears to be all you have.
I see what you did there, Alicia. I see how your brilliant mind works.

CF and Anon, I really didn't want to get into a debate about god or religion with you because it's a dead end street. You believe what you believe, and I do not. That's fine and dandy except that you want to impose your belief system on other people. That's not fine.
ReplyDeleteLife is not precious, and except for our friends and family, life is very cheap. Life is one of the most expendable resources on this planet, as evidenced by Rowanda, Haiti, Indonesia, China, and any number of mass killings or natural disasters, just in the last decade. We quickly replace the dead with new life. No problem.
To my mind, SIDS deaths alone refute the contention that your god values each and every life. If your god was paying attention, wouldn't he step in? Wouldn't he want to eradicate ALL of the ills of the world? Why does he allow children to die of cancer? Some merciful god you've got there.
You focus on abortion because it's an easy "hot button" issue. Plus, making young girls give birth to unwanted children keeps them from moving up in the world, and keeps them in poverty.
Anyway, I'm out of here. Debating belief systems is pointless. Have a great Sunday!
you're dwelling in a purely psychological realm that will have no impact in the real world of unwanted and unintended pregnancy--none.
ReplyDeleteThat's it MARIA!!!!
You see the difference between you and I.
YOU want to be given TASKS/TACTICS........."CF please enumerate daily TASKS that we can take to accomplish what I INTEND to accomplish".
i argue that any TASK LISK that you or anyone else can come up with MUST be in line with the STRATEGY/PHILOSOPHY that I am laying out for you.
Do you not see that the "middle dog" in the dog team merely MOVES HIS FEET and looks at the tail of the dog in front of him all day long as his TASK?
It is mandatory that we focus upon the BASIS upon which all of these tasks are build upon that we can be sure that the PEOPLE'S ULTIMATE INTERESTS are obtained per their repetitive actions.
Maria:
If we reached the point where MEDICALLY - all unprotected sex will be isolated from STDs and PREGANNCY - only the GOAL OF THE STIMULATION OF NERVE ENDINGS on each respective participant is obtained.
IF this takes place in an VIRTUAL REALITY WORLD where some "device" is strapped to our genitals and a device that projects the proper images that trick your mind into believing that a sex act is being conducted - WOULDN'T THIS achieve your desired goal?
The kids continue to HAVE SEX but they don't get pregnant. PROBLEM SOVED. Right?
So the evidence is pretty clear. To prevent abortions, you need to educate and empower girls and young women, you need to encourage them to have safe sex (rather than those idiotic and hypocritical sexual abstinence programs),you need to provide free contraceptives on demand, and free sterilization procedures.
ReplyDelete[/qutoe]
My friend from abroad Purple Cow:
I would like for you to take this program out of the laborator of the Netherlands and field it IN OTHER PLACES.
When you can get this implemented while dealing with the real world issues of:
* Those who wish to maintain their entrenched cultural norms
* Those who believe that you are merely implementing EURO-CENTRIC values upon their way of life
* Those who's economic systems are not conducive to such a system
THEN you get back with me bro.
I really didn't want to get into a debate about god or religion with you because it's a dead end street. You believe what you believe, and I do not.
ReplyDeleteBennett:
AGAIN you show your intellectual FRAUDULENCE.
If you are a NON-BELIEVER then WHY did you volunteer the notion that those who had an abortion should be left alone and made to "deal with their God"?
You should have BEEN SILENT on the issue instead.
You clearly show your "Secular Progressive" bias - making use of commentary on religion ONLY WHEN it advances your leftist agenda.
Please tell us where you are a presiding officer? I want to make sure that I never make the mistake of being a property owner there.
I see you're not willing to deal with the points I raised.
ReplyDeleteWhat matters surely, is what works. We know beyond any question of doubt that this method prevents unwanted pregnancies and therefore abortions.
* Those who wish to maintain their entrenched cultural norms
If someone's "entrenched cultural norm" states on one hand that young people should not be educated about sex, and on the other that abortion is intolerable, they should be told quietly and firmly to stick their "entrenched cultural norm" where the sun don't shine. Society should not have to tolerate those who would seek to impose their prejudices on all aspects of society, where those prejudices damage societies interest.
* Those who believe that you are merely implementing EURO-CENTRIC values upon their way of life
If those Euro-centric values work, when clearly their values lead to abysmal failure, maybe it's time they re-examined their values.
Anyway, what is Eurocentric about educating and empowering women? What is Eurocentric about teaching young people that sex is good? What is Eurocentric about giving people the tools to lead their lives on their own terms?
* Those who's economic systems are not conducive to such a system
It has been demonstrated time and again that good sexual health programs including free contraception are MASSIVELY cheaper than other set-ups. So there can be no economic argument against this system.
It works. You can't deny that.
"And I submit to you that if she does not think that she can raise a child she should NOT have one. Period"
ReplyDeleteThat says it all for me.
HEY COW!!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.euro.who.int/aids/ctryinfo/overview/20060118_30
Hmmm a nation with 16 million in population compared to a nation with 306M with far more DIVERSITY? I am not sure that this is an apples to apples comparison Mr Cow.
Netherlands (pop. 16 367 000)
From 1983 through 2006, Dutch authorities registered 7188 AIDS cases. From 1999 through 2006, they also registered 12 730 HIV cases, including many that had been diagnosed in previous years. In total 231 deaths among AIDS cases were reported by the end of 2006. Of the HIV cases with a known transmission source, approximately 5% were infected through injecting drug use, 56% through MSM and 36% through heterosexual contact. About 77% of all reported HIV cases are male, while 87% are over 25 years. For the year 2006, authorities reported 1070 new HIV cases, 189 new AIDS cases and 26 deaths among AIDS cases.
The nationwide low threshold STI centres provide STI care for high risk groups. The absolute number of new STI consultations seen in these centres still increases every year and in 2006, 13% of all attendees were diagnosed with an STI. Chlamydia remained the most commonly diagnosed bacterial STI in the Netherlands with the majority of cases occurring among young heterosexuals.
HIV prevalence in the Netherlands is highest among MSM and IDUs. People living with HIV also account for a significant proportion of the prevalence of other STIs. The proportion of MSM in newly recorded HIV cases increased to 59% in 2006 and among the STI clinic attendees 3.1% of MSM, 0.2% of heterosexual men and 0.1% of women were found HIV positive.
Alicia Banks: "want to see if your tiny limp little penile erection is longer than my clitoral one too?...NOT!"
ReplyDeleteI'm sure, he or anyone else certainly does not want to see any part of that. You are a twisted, mis-educated middle age woman stuck in emotional adolescence. I bet you have a hard time getting anyone to look as your hootch.
this is sort of a general response to no one in particular and everyone in general.
ReplyDelete"god" has nothing to do with abortion. "god" does not punish people; their own bad actions toward themselves and others are recorded in the world and will come back to hurt them and others around them. maybe not now, maybe not even when we are around to see it, but surely it will happen.
good actions work the same way. you put good works, good deeds, good words out in the world and goodness comes back to you. someday, somehow, or to your children and family.
you and i -- we are all connected, we are all brothers and sisters.
everything YOU DO in one way or another affects EVERYONE ELSE. what you say and do MATTERS.
[quoteC.F.} Hmmm a nation with 16 million in population compared to a nation with 306M with far more DIVERSITY? I am not sure that this is an apples to apples comparison Mr Cow.
ReplyDeleteRed herring. We are talking about preventing unwanted pregnancy. What difference would the size of a nation's population have on it's unwanted pregnancy rates?
I'm not convinced that the US population is more diverse, but even if so, so what?
ReplyDeleteCompared to 0.6% in the USA.
I wish the anti-abortion movement who produce some actual evidence of some "genocide" in the black community, beyond what Republican policies have done to the black community!

Spoken like a true HN who has bought into A-merry-can exceptionalism. How is The Netherlands a "laborator" as opposed to A-merry-ca? BTW, have you ever been to the Netherlands?
