What is so troubling about Fox substituting pictures of blacks is not so much the "we all look alike" to whites as it is sorta a coded message to its viewers. For example: Flavor Flav in place of Kendrick Meek = buffoon, Morgan freeman in place Eric Holder = Actor. Hidden messages, saying it, without saying it verbally just like they do with commercials and ads with black people in them.

Now what I was saying regarding the topic. Fox knows exactly what they are doing and they do it deliberately. I remember the first time, I happened to turn to Fox News, because believe it or not they used to be a serious news station before Murdoch took over. People should watch that documentary that called "Outfoxed" and it gives a run down on how they operate and maybe, some of you have already watched it.

ReplyDeleteWell, I know that the stereotype for blacks who play sports are that they not intelligent. You can see it in the difference in commericals or ads if you compare the difference in the message when it is a black player versus a white player.
ReplyDeleteBlacks are portrayed with themes that does not require intellectual thought and something as simple as shoes or hamburger. Whites are more likely put in commercials that represent business or critical thinking. (just and example) The advertising art in which blacks are demeaned is old and goes way back in time.

Because believe me Fox was gonna make up every lie in the book, smear, and twist stuff around. Myself, I think he should have stayed and fought, but then that was really his choice to make. Some of the language you've used in here is not exactly something I want to read and I know you've been raised better than that. Your a grown man/woman and I haven't tried to dictate to you what you can and cannot say. Nevertheless, think on this, every day you get older, I get older. In other words, I'm a grown woman, a older woman, free, black and well over 21years of age, and you should return the same courtesy. Fair enough?
BTW, I do get out more than you think, I've traveled and these eyes of mine have seen a lot. More than you'll probably see in your lifetime.
