*I am trying to wind down from my Memorial Day activities and get back into work mode.
I just got home and already my inbox is blowing up with folks behaving badly.
First, a SWAT team in Arizona shoots and kills a decorated Marine because they thought that he was a drug dealer. The man was unarmed.
And then, just to show that Northern states aren't immune from this type of ignorance; the po po in Massachusetts shoots and kills an unarmed 68 year old grandfather in a drug raid. He was not a target of the investigation. (This happened awhile ago, I swear I can't keep up)
Finally, (and this one pisses me off) former NFL star,Warrick Dunn, was profiled and stopped by the po po in Hotlanta because they thought he had the "characteristics of people transporting guns and drugs."
This story pisses me off because-for those of you who don't know- Warrick Dunn's mother was a police officer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and she lost her life in the line of duty while trying to protect and serve her community. Warrick Dunn has done tremendous work in the community while carrying on his mother's legacy, he did not deserve this. Actually, I take that back; no one deserves to be profiled.
Anyway, I am out, I have some work to do around the house. I am going to read more about this latest Andrew Breitbart smear job . If Anthony Weiner is innocent of what he is being accused of (sending a pic of his johnson -via twitter- while it is at full attention to an unsuspecting young lady* ) he better come up with a really good lawyer, pronto.

These swat team murders are destined to become more common in the aftermath of the Supreme Court's recent decision rejecting a complaint against a police swat team that broke into an apartment and arrested the plaintiff for drug possession without a warrant.
ReplyDeleteThe defense of the police for their action was presented in their argument that they first smelled an order like drugs burning coming from the defendent's apartment. The police also claimed that they heard noises consistent with "someone destroying evidence" coming from the defendents apartment. The police claim that these two factors caused them to forceably entered the apartment.
This decision places all of the verification and validation totally under the subjective control of the police. My question is "Who is going to validate whether the police are telling the truth or not?"
This decision tramples all over any possibility of providing justice for any individual who happens to become the object of police action; whose innocence or guilt is totally dependent upon the highly subjective record in the police report. I fully expect that black and brown people will bear the brutal brunt of this recent decision. IMO this is another gigantic blow against the Bill of Rights delivered by the SCOTUS in recent times.

Field, I'm not surprise, someone has been doing a lot of hacking lately and sending x-rated stuff through other people's emails and other forms of communications. I've received three emails from my cousins' email that had been hacked. One was an offer for some viagra and the other two disguised as invitation to an event and family pictures were for porn sites.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got the first one, which was for the viagra, I called my cousin who is a professional and asked him what in the world could I do with viagra. That's when I found out his account had been hacked. One of my cousins, a musician and writer had to change their email address completely because of it. The other one sent out emails to let folks know that the email was not from them. My cousins are not the only victims of the hackers, I've been hearing other complaints from different ones using twitter and email. Whoever is doing it thinks that it is funny a big joke, but hacking is not funny and it's illegal.

If you were to read the racist anti-black comments that are left here daily wouldn't you be a bit perturbed also? If the anons would engage in intelligent conversation we wouldn't have to spend so much energy confronting such ignorance. It's kinda like kindergarten, the spoiled kids get the attention as the teacher tries to restore order.
Not to pass judgement but I think I may have to see if Granny will allow a new visitor because she actually filters out some of this ignorance. I'm not for censorship but some things can go too far sometimes.

2. Roger Ailes has a firm grasp on who is running and who is not ergo Santorum and Gingrich were ousted from their roles as Fox contributors.
3. She quit a job that has 1/50 the responsibility of the president.
4. She is unelectable in the general because of her HUGE negatives.
