The world mourns, and the right tries to "discredit" and destroy.

The right in this country is quite a bunch. Poor Brother Mandela is not yet cold in his grave and they are already trying to destroy his legacy and all that he has worked for.

Of course, for them, this is nothing new. Their hatred of the man runs deep.

I suppose that all of this worldwide adulation and love for Mandela is making their heads explode.

The truth is a beautiful thing. Everybody except the willfully ignorant can see it.

They (the right)  have labeled him a racist, a terrorist, and called him every vile name in the book(Heck, by that definition George Washington was a terrorist, and I think that most Brits would agree with that label.) Just check out any right wing blog and go to their comments section and you will see what I am talking about. They even turned on one of their own when he tried to be gracious. Poor Ted Cruz.

One of their leading voices couldn't say one nice word about the man without repeatedly declaring that he is a "Communist" at every turn. (Mr. O'Reilly should read more, and try to learn about people like Joe Slovo; a real Communist.)  Forgetting, of course, that the ANC was not a Communist organization,  but at the height of their struggle for equality in their homeland, regimes in the West sided with their oppressors. Who were they going to  turn to? America? Please!

This was the pattern in Africa. Poor people who were oppressed turned to an ideology that gave them hope. That was Communism, not capitalism, because capitalism represented their oppressors. That is the system of government that countries with monetary and geopolitical investments in these countries wanted to protect.

So even if Mandela was a Communist who could blame him? America and her allies had no interest in changing course in South Africa. They were fine with business as usual. Even if business meant brutal attacks and the slaughter of innocent people.

Here in America, thanks to Ronald Reagan, Brother Mandela and the ANC were labeled terrorist, and Mandela was put on a terrorist watch list until 2008.

Imagine that. While he met with President George H. Bush in the White House in 1990; he was a terrorist. ("Secret Service, keep an eye on that old man who just spent 27 years in prison. He might be up to something.")

Anyway, fortunately there are more people of good conscience in the world than bad ones. And Nelson Mandela's true character was revealed for the entire world to see when he was alive.

"Mandela has long espoused the way of reconciliation and called for there to be no racial violence in retribution for apartheid.

In transitioning from the segregationist regime to a non-racial democracy, he partnered closely with his white predecessor, former President Frederik Willem de Klerk, who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with him.

At a sports match in 1995, as President, Mandela made a gesture of support to white South Africans that drew gasps.

Rugby was the dominant sport of white South Africans of Dutch heritage -- Afrikaners -- and was reviled by blacks.

During a world championship match against New Zealand, Mandela walked onto the pitch wearing the jersey of his team's captain. The scene inspired the 2009 Hollywood movie "Invictus" directed by Clint Eastwood.

The crowd began chanting his name. They were almost all white."

Yes, but they were not right wing American, whites.

"The right" doesn't even exist. This is hyperbole on the part of a very self-righteous Field-Negro. It's all narrative over here readers.

"they hate it when a black man bring all nations together? what white man has done this with it out being controlled? Think!"

Huh? What kind of la-la land do you live in. Bringing millions of people together can't be done without some level of control. It was whites who made this guy a world famous name son.

What an enlightening perspective by Mr. Field, clarifying the reason capitalism was not fully embraced by poor and oppressed people, especially prior to the release of Nelson Mandela then subsequent presidency of South Africa. On another note, I agree with one fellow blogger whose post yesterday encourages positive commentary to overshadow the more hateful rhetoric. Overall, it's heartwarming how much of the world is coming together to remember Nelson Mandela as extraordinary human being who led others to promote worldwide peace and justice for all God's people.

No one should waste time looking at right wing racist media outlets for any comment about the passing of Nelson Mandela. The rabid racists who manage and run these so-call "conservative" media outlets are only concerned about maintaining their primary business of "Race based Demagoguery". They are well aware that the psychotic nature of their core supporters is such that on the occasion of every world wide event of note they desperately need constant reassurance of the validity of their racist beliefs. Thus messages such as those depreciating the life of one of the world's greatest leaders. who just happens to be a native African, is only business as usual for these despicable individuals. It is to be expected as normal behavior for such die hard racists. To expect otherwise is a useless exercise in futility.

  5. "Yes, but they were not right wing American, whites."

    How tiresome.

Everything that happens in the world is seen throught the prism of Field's hatred of America's white population, whom he deems "right wing".

In truth, Mandela's life is being praised from all corners. Ocassionally someone punctures the heroic myths with inconvenient facts regarding his involvement with acts of terrorism, but generally almost everyone feels the way he handled the transition from Apartheid as being an exceptional example of wise governance.

But Wayne just can't stop tearing down the country that welcomed him in and even made him a judge in it's courts.

There is something wrong with that boy...

    I agree with these sentiments.

And yet,I also realized this is exactly what Nelson Mandela spoke against.

One of his quotes: "When you work with the enemy he becomes your partner"

So you can imagine how difficult it must have been for him. Or not, depending on how expansive and loving his soul was.

Certainly much more so than mine. Which is what made him so great. Above and beyond everyone else.

His vision for unity in South Africa.

My thoughts are you have to listen and see the opposing views otherwise how can you defend against them.

Just thinking here how both he and Gandhi, using non violence and passive resistance, were able to throw off the yoke of oppression from their countries. Amazing right?

Mandela was a wise leader who understood his place in history and what it would take to peacefully bring reform to his country. As much as Obama would like to appropriate Mandela's mantle of moral authority, he is no Mandela.

Here's Barack Obama, appealing to Hispanic voters in 2010, two years into his historic Presidency:

"We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us"

Unfortunately our leader is not interested in bringing people together. He is all about sowing division and hatred in order to ram through his own personal vision of what America should be like. He calls the Tea Party movement "teabaggers" and accuses them of being racist. He bases his re-election campaign on the absurd notion his opponents are conducting a "War on Women". He tells minority voters that legitimate concerns about voter fraud are really attempts to rescind their voting rights. In a time of rampant unemployment, he call those who question the wisdom of importing 50 million more workers hateful bigots. His signature accomplishment, Obamacare, was crafted with Republicans locked out of the room and passed using parliamentary tricks and without a single Republican vote.

This man has done more damage to this country than any enemy in its history. He has not done it alone, but he has certainly been the driving force behind the demonization and dehumanization of his political opposition. I don't know how this country can recover form the wounds of the Obama years. It may well not.

The best evidence is that Mr. Mandela was never a member of the CPSA, although he did work closely with the CPSA from about 1950 through the ANC led United Democratic Front Against Apartheid that included almost every anti-apartheid element in South Africa at one time or another. In 1952, a year after he was purportedly briefly a member of CPSA, he is quoted as telling a reporter that Communism's atheism was incompatible with his own Christianity, though he was no longer as skeptical of communists' intentions as he had been as late as the mid-40s.

  13. "Money will still control everything in this country."

    Where doesn't money control everything?

Money is everything that can be bought.

After the Fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 discredited socialism, the South African white leadership, now relieved of worries that the African National Congress would actually implement its traditional Soviet-style economic ideology, quickly moved to make a deal with Mandela while he was still alive.

The South African Solution was an early exemplification of our post-Communist world. White and black elites came together and agreed that there is plenty of money to be made, at least for white and black elites. South Africa has tremendous resources, so affirmative action for the top layer of blacks would be affordable.

For non-elites, well, the New Model South Africa might not work all that well, but they are by definition non-elites, so where exactly is the problem? If they aren't happy, all they have to do is become elites. If they don't have what it takes to be elites -- such as raped white rural women or gunned down black miners who evidently don't -- then their problems aren't very important, are they? I mean, why are you asking about them? What are you, some kind of Communist?

People get rolled by those with money and power because they don't pay attention. When the purpose of the news is to deceive, you have to look for the truth. We are lied to 24/7 by our rulers and the media they own. That is how we wind up with venal, phony Presidents like Obama or clueless legacy Presidents like W.

Communism just makes things worse for everyone. The only solution is an informed citizenry. Break the monopoly of propagandist government schools. Deregulate and open competition in the old and new media. Enforce the Constitutional limitations on our out of control government.

People get the government they deserve. You've got to work to deserve better.

REVIEW MEMORANDUM NSC-46
BLACK AFRICA AND THE U.S. BLACK MOVEMENT

Objective of our policy toward Black Africa is to prevent social upheavals which could radically change the political situation throughout the area. The success or failure of our policy in the region depends on the solution international and internal issues whose importance of the United States is on the increase.

II. A. U.S. INTERESTS IN BLACK AFRICA

A multiplicity of interests influences the U.S. attitude toward black Africa. The most important of these interests can be summarized as follows:

    1. POLITICAL

If black African states assume attitudes hostile to the U.S. national interest, our policy toward the white regimes; which is a key element in our relations with the black states, may be subjected by the latter to great pressure for fundamental change. Thus the West may face a real danger of being deprived of access to the enormous raw material resources of southern Africa which are vital for our defense needs as well as losing control over the Cape sea routes by which approximately 65% of Middle Eastern oil is supplied to Western Europe.

IV. BLACK AFRICA AND THE U.S. BLACK MOVEMENT

Apart from the above-mentioned factors adverse to U.S. strategic interests, the nationalist liberation movement in black Africa can act as a catalyst with far reaching effects on the American black community by stimulating its organizational consolidation and by inducing radical actions. Such a result would be likely as Zaire went the way of Angola and Mozambique.

An occurrence of the events of *1967-68 would do grievous harm to U.S. prestige, especially in view of the concern of the present Administration with human rights issues. Moreover, the Administration would have to take specific steps to stabilize the situation. Such steps might be misunderstood both inside and outside the United States.

In order to prevent such a trend and protect U.S. national security interests, it would appear essential to elaborate and carry out effective countermeasures.

"One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter"
    ============

Critiques of Mandela tend to focus on the fact that he was a terrorist and that he intended a campaign of bombing that would have claimed civilian casualties. You can also throw in the fact that, even in prison, he allowed himself to be the figurehead of an organization that carried out, within its pathetically limited capacity, a few terrorist bombings and, much more frequently, necklacings of its own people.

But such views unwittingly set up an equation of moral equivalence that ultimately ends up commodifying human rights by bulk, in which case Mandela wins. Yes, he was a would-be killer of women and children and the Uncle Ben logo on the packet of death-by-tyre-fire, but then, the liberal leftist will retort that South Africa was a racist "terrorist" state that killed its own opponents and in the process stunted the lives of millions. Even if it ignores realities, this is how the Left's favourite magic trick of turning the "terrorist" into the "freedom fighter" works, and many on the right continue to fall for it.

Rather than cavil about the handful of civilian Whites that the ANC killed and the numbers they wished to kill, it is better to admit that here at least Mandela was in the right, for in a war between races there are no civilians, there are no individuals, there are no numbers to be put into the Grand Golden Humanitrarian Scales (presumably kept in a cabinet in the Hague and periodically polished by the tears of liberals, Christians, and internationalists).

Race war is, plain and simple, a Manichean struggle between good and evil, depending entirely on which race you belong to. This is what Mandela understood and it's entirely to his credit that he sought the advantage and superiority of his own race.

This fact should be admitted, firstly, because to say anything else leads us to the great humanitarian head count and other unsustainable right wing arguments that the justification of the White South African State was that it ensured a higher standard of living for Blacks (yippee yi yay!); and, secondly, because it also leads us to the fact that Mandela and his oddly White Jewish backers (Lionel Bernstein, Bob Hepple, Dennis Goldberg, Arthur Goldreich, Hazel Goldreich James Kantor, Joe Slovo, Ronnie Kasrils, etc.) were incompetent terrorists who were soundly defeated. In terms of the race war, the Blacks lost in 1962, the year of Mandela’s arrest, just as much as they lost in 1838, the year of the Battle of Blood River, when the 470 Voortrekkers crushed over 10,000 marauding Zulus.

The essence of Mandela is not terrorism, a concept with which he was at best loosely associated, and the one tiny sliver of respectability in the man, but the act of being a prisoner, which, of course, is an 'act' of pure passivity, a passivity further heightened by the fact that he was a man of no real vision or intelligence whose writings – even the ghost-written ones – are void of ideas and interest.

This passivity is the essence of the man, as it created the perfect receptacle for the globalized White race to outsource its various passions of self-loathing, White guilt, ethnic inclusivism, and affirmative action into a conveniently remote and low cost symbol.

  39. Quotes From The Focussed Porpoise

"i AM not sure what it will take for him to see. the uk is a hot mess. dead folks at the palace. masonry + devilry right out front for folks that are not in awe of white folks to see. that creepy london olympics ritual in the not so distant past...just ugh!

I thought the London Olympics ceremonies were excellent. Slightly bonkers, but generally well meaning - which is how they should be. I'm not going to even comment on your paranoid conspiracy shit.

"in fact, the eu is much farther along with the one world government plans."

That's not actually true, but I wouldn't mind if it was. For all its many faults it is one of the leading forces for good in the world today. We could do a lot worse than having an EU lead planet.

while FN posts again and again chasing racism in america...notice pc was not the one to mention that in the uk- Black folks are being dna sampled in additon to stopped/frisked. it seems being Black is all it takes to be on the radar.

That's a flat lie porpoise-girl. I stated the exact percentage of black British people who have been DNA samples as opposed to the random figures you had pulled out of your ass.

"while he is telling FN to move elsewhere...he is 'entertaining' himself while wide awake uk folks are doing just that- moving away from the uk. lol."

    Evidence please.

how can anyone really get mad at him?

    I agree!

By the way, don't they have capital letters where you live?

"plus he hates Scriptures and routinely breaks out in profane tourettes like episodes, whenever he sees them on the thread. lol. po chile. po chile...as the elders would say back in the day."

    Well this bit's true, obviously.

The rest of your post I'm not even going to try to pretend I understand. Something about the ease (or not) of getting married?!?

    Field,
I am no doubt what you label as your enemy - a white conservative. Someone you constantly seek to voice your worldly displeasure with nightly and seemingly with every step you take. Someone you would no doubt find fault and reason to blame for every breath, mistep or decision taken by anyone in the Black community at anytime - past, present or future.

With that said, I disagree with the narrative that eternally victimized Progressive Marxists are attempting to use to create some relevance from themselves out of failed ideologies, shamelessly exploiting the passing of a great man - Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela was a great man and a shining example of leadership that should be heralded and trumpeted loudly - Especially by Progressive Marxist leftists.

Mandela's life and accomplishments should be used as a shining example of a leader who is resoundingly deserving of honor and respect.

Despite the obvious challenges and potential; Mandela was wise and did not succumb to human frailty of ego and:

Mandela never used the tax system against his political foes

    Mandela never summarily suspended law

Mandela didn’t use the government to suppress his political foes.

Also knowing the affinity the White limousine liberals who give you direction have for Castro, or excuses they typically have for murderous communists, tyrants and dictators; they should be reminded further why Nelson Mandela was a great man, by comparing his life against someone like say Fidel Castro.

Mandela: Didn’t keep power for himself for 50 years.

Mandela: Didn’t keep a secret police watching his political foes.

Mandela: Didn’t keep dissidents from leaving

Mandela: Held free elections with multiple parties

Mandela: Didn’t have the wives of jailed prisoners beaten

Mandela was a great man. He even solidified the sanctity of the vote by ensuring that all voters could partake legally and that fraud was reduced by ensuring the sacredness of the South African vote was protected.

Q: Can I vote with my temporary registration certificate (TRC)?

A: No, you can only vote with your South African, green, bar-coded ID or a valid Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC). You can apply for a green, bar-coded ID or a valid TIC from the Department of Home Affairs.

Q: Can permanent residents vote in the elections?

A: No, only South African citizens with a green, bar-coded ID book can vote in elections.

He truly was a great man that many can learn from if they only see the message he sent and don't have it distorted by interpreters injecting their own weaknesses.

Such a clever cow! Not much on substance, or thinking, but he can do tricks.

Now get back to the pasture.

Some nuances from a closer observer:

I took part in informal "off the record" meetings with ANC reps while in Geneva and Vienna... The ANC was a lost cause; they did not believe in democracy, and had a large element of thuggery in their ranks. Many were terrorists who had received training in Libya, and were out for revenge and blood. Mandela, however, was more complicated than I had thought. He had had his violent phase, but only after trying peaceful opposition to apartheid. Both in and after coming out of prison, he proved an extremely intelligent negotiator and compromiser, reaching understandings with Botha and De Klerk, and turning down the volume of the anti-white message of the ANC. He seemed to have an understanding that whites and other non-blacks were essential for a peaceful and prosperous South Africa. He also, surprise, did not go full Mugabe. He won election--although the vote counting was suspicious--served his term, trying to unite blacks, whites, Asians, and others into accepting the new post-apartheid South Africa. He did not try to drive the whites out, and did not go around confiscating farms and businesses. He did not encourage revenge against whites and sought a reconciliation of the races. A practical politician, he turned a blind eye to the rampant corruption among the ANC, finding it better to let the party members expend their revolutionary fervor making money. At the end of his term, he stepped down. Yes, he stepped down. That is an amazing thing in Africa; he stepped down on completing his term of office. It does not happen much on that continent. He, however, never got over his deep mistrust of the USA, and despite his credentials as a victim of human rights abuse, refused to criticize Qaddafy, never gave up his fervent admiration for Castro--who, ironically, runs a racist regime in Cuba--and remained very anti-Israel.

Was he a great man? I think the answer is yes. He had great flaws, but great courage, drive, and commitment to his cause. He showed that a determined person can make a difference. He also showed that an African president can play by the rules and try to be president for all the people of his country. For that he deserves kudos and respect. He, nevertheless, did not establish a viable democratic political system in South Africa, and proved unable to stop the escalating criminal violence that has turned Johannesburg into one of the world's rape and murder capitals. His successors have proven notably less "great" than Mandela, and ANC corruption has gone into the stratosphere--including by Mandela's gangster ex-wife, Winnie. The white and other middle class flight he wanted to avoid proceeded and has grown. I think the jury remains out on whether South Africa can avoid the fate of Zimbabwe in the medium to long run.
