Tasing Tario.

I hate to come off  like a one trick pony of late, but if bloggers like yours truly don't bring attention to cases like these of police misconduct, you folks will never know what is happening in our beloved country.

The latest case of cops behaving badly comes to us from South Carolina. *cue in Inner Circle music here: Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do?...*

"A South Carolina woman has filed a complaint with the Greenville City Police Department after officers Tasered and then arrested her autistic 34-year-old son on Christmas Eve after he attempted to avoid them, reports WYFF.

According to Carolyn Anderson, her son, Tario, has a severe form of autism rendering him almost incapable of speaking.

“Tario can say yes or no, he might ask for a thing or two, but just verbal, no,” Carolyn Anderson explained.

Right before midnight on Christmas Eve, Greenville police responded to a call about gunshots in the neighborhood when they spotted and attempted to detain Tario as he walked on the street near his home. According to his mother, her son frequently goes for walks in the evening, visiting family members who live in the neighborhood.

Police say when they spotted him on the street he attempted to walk away from them.
“When they put their spotlight on him, he immediately put his head down, put his hands in his pockets and began to walk away from him,” Officer Johnathan Bragg with Greenville Police said. “They then got out of the vehicle and approached him and ordered him to stop at which point he did flee from the officers and they pursued him.”

After police caught up with Anderson they used Tasers on him in order to take him into custody.
Neighbors familiar with Tario — who has lived his entire life in the same neighborhood– heard him yelling as the police attempted to subdue him and they immediately called his mother.

“If you had seen my baby was out there, laying on that sidewalk and every time he reached for me, I reached for him- [they'd say] “Get back, we gonna Tase you”,” Carolyn Anderson said. “I was trying to make them take me to jail. I curse everything, ‘Take me! I’m the one causing trouble! Take me. He’s not doing nothing.’ No matter what I said, it didn’t make no difference to them.”

According to Officer Bragg, officers were not aware of Anderson’s disability, but that he still broke the law when he attempted to flee.

“From what he did, he did break the law so in any case like that, we do go ahead and arrest them and make the charges and we’re not deemed certified to declare anyone as mentally ill or with a disease or anything like that so we don’t technically know if he is,” Bragg said.

Following his arrest, Anderson was treated on the scene by paramedics before being taken to a detention center where he was charged with interfering with police and resisting arrest.
Carolyn Anderson, who said her son has never been arrested before, was outraged.

“Interfering? Resisting? It’s against the law to take off running? I still don’t understand. I really don’t,” she said. “I say if you hear gunshots, are you going to stand there and wait to see if the bullet hit you or are you getting out the way?”

Bragg later released a statement saying that police are looking into the Anderson complaint, but added that 'members of the public need to be cooperative with police when stopped.”' [Source]

Yes officer, they should "be cooperative", but that is kind of hard to do when you have severe mental challenges that you have to overcome.

We all know, of course,  that any special kind of consideration Tario could have received went out the window when police saw that  he was a tall "scary looking" black man.  (Taze first and ask questions later. I suppose that it could have been worse; poor Tario  could have shot him to death.)

Anyway, In spite of everything that happened, Tario was still arrested and charged.

Never miss a chance to put a black man in the system. Even a severely autistic one.

If I had a son like Tario, I do not know what I'd do. Maybe make him wear a T-shirt reading "I have a disability, please don't Tase me!" and listing my home number?

Many cops have no idea what to do when they encounter someone who is mentally handicapped.

Hopefully, the ridiculous charges against him will get tossed.

I was watching a video from 4milemarch.org of a man was walking and the police open fired after a few seconds of asking him to stop. Here's the problem, they killed a man wouldn't have ever heard them because he was deaf. I have to also mention that the person killed was white. We have to admit as a society that the police screw up more often that than we want to admit.

If we had some data, I would venture a guess that a good percentage of police involved in these shootings are under the age 30, on the force for less than 10 years, and very inexperienced when dealing with the public at large. It seems as if that a lot of these police officers have no interpersonal or social skills.

My brother came from NC to NJ for Christmas, and as he was coming getting out of the car to go to my cousin's house a police officer asked him where is going. My brother is in his 40s and still has to deal with a police officer's suspension of what I have no idea other than my brother's skin color. My brother's pants is hanging down, in fact he was wearing a wool Kangoo hat and cashmere peacoat which is an odd look for burglar or stick up guy. Another skill police officers seem to lack, a power for observation.

I am generally supportive of the majority of hard-working police in our country who do their jobs right.

But Tasers are a torture device if they are used beyond what is needed for self-defense against an aggressor. Using them as an "attitude changer" is a human rights issue.

We've all seen examples of police using them to intemidate, threaten and actually torture people whare are being compliant and not arresting. Police who do such things not only need to be relieved of duty. But they need to be tried, sentanced and serve a prison term. They, and their departments should also be liable for civil damages.

The police using a taser against an aggressor is a good choice if the only alterative is leathal force. Yet, there is a slippery slope many police offeres have gone down.

There's a clear reason for this. First, there is a myth that Tasers cannot kill you. But there have been deaths from their improper use during an arress. Second, the current laws are not specific enough regarding the use of Tasers and prohibitions of certain use. Third, police departments have inadequate policies regarding the use of Tasers.

Anationwide legal campaign, perhaps lead by Field Negro, should be organized to help change laws, department policy and to ensure violators face hefty civic claims.

I have seen a number of Tasering which was unnessary. There are many motives to abuse:

Fear: If a police officer is small, he or she may resort to Taser Torture instead of physical efferts.

Anger: Police who are being insulted may retaliate by using the Taser instead of trying to talk matters through

Ego/Power Trips: Police on a power or Ego Trip may be very likely to Taser you becuase they are trying to show you he's in charge of the situation.

All people on this Planet have a right never to be tortued. All people on this planet have an obligation to confron those who do torture.

It is amazing how long the American Public has put up with such devices being used on them.

If the police continue to abuse this resource, then the device should simply be discontinued in all police departments everywhen.

  5. To Col RBR (RET) Now not only the unknowing younger civilians come out you come out with some "sniff" test. First of all the Marines had left Vietnam by the 70s. Your branch did not have a dust off Army. If this comment from you was about who did the best in Vietnam, I will place my record as an EM against yours.

Officers other than Lieutenants rarely went into combat. You as a mMarine fought up the north of VietNam. Yes after TET you guys left Vietnam. The fighting lasted 4-5 years.

Now again... I think you are a jealous ANON that hate to hear that a Black man (me) wasw a true warrior or whatever you want to label. Now let you and me put up or shut up.

Again goggle Larry Armstrong, 159th DustOff. 25 th Infantry Division. I am there. Look at the awards and commendation. Put up with your name and identity. Or is the "base camp warrior" just another ANON full uof hate. Stolen valor is a terminology of the new sterile wars. Major, where were you in the NAM? Put up or shut up... Tell me your unit and time frame. What about what I said that had energized you to try and make others on this site think less of a war veteran? I have been on this site for over half a decade. Most people know that I am not one to boast. IF YOU WERE IN THE WAR ... I feel sorry that as an officer you are not aware of the role I played in the USA war.

I will not respond to ANON nor bogus officers. Officers did not fight the war. It was a young man tragedy. Learn your history. Average age of the men that did the actual combat was 22.

To the good commenters of this site. I am truly sorry that you all have to be in the middle of my real talk with some person that want to denigrate someone whom he is scared to meet.

  6. Yes I would have, I'm a blah man and the cop was white.

Anyhoo, after determining the man was autistic they arrest him anyway. Then again it is South Carolina and like you said he was lucky to escape with his life. Chalk it up to a learning lesson. As my dad taught me, try to limit the learning lessons to relatively cheap and easy ones.

  8. Berkeley Protester Named Idiot of the Month

Congratulations to the Berkeley biking enthusiast who overcame heavy competition from other white liberal Black Lives Matter types to win the Idiot of the Month Award:

Wearing a cycling helmet and a home-made protest T-shirt with the slogan “Cops: Stop Killing Black Men,” he certainly stood out among the be-hooded “youths” that he had foolishly chosen to ally himself with. Things took a nasty turn when he tried to assert his “white privilege” in order to stop them looting a Radio Shack to instead focus on the much more important business of his moral posturing. One hammer blow to the head later, the bearded, Black-loving, bicycle-riding burk from Berkeley was one idiot award richer, but alas none the wiser.

Thankfully the police he was protesting against must have arrived in time to prevent the sacred oppressed persons from beating him to death for being white as they did with me.

Good thing he was wearing that helmet. I wish I would have had one.

Hey Field, you certainly are doing your part in this media campaign over police misconduct. I'm curious though whether or not you realize why you are being told to run with this.

It's not just to create a distraction from the failure of Obama’s presidency, nor is it only a tightened focus on the cultural Marxist blacks-as-sacred-victims narrative.

The main goal is to create a justification to extend federal control over local police, which is a prerequisite to imposing a police state.

Did you know that? That you were contributing to a propaganda campaign to facilitate the leftists from imposing a central authority police state?

Yes, that Berkeley protest did get out of hand. But not because of the "sacred oppressed persons" (aka black criminals) you imagine turned it into a riot.

The people looting that Radio Shack were Black Bloc anarchist types. These are (mostly) white people who dress in all black, but not actual black people. They are assholes who capitalize on left-wing protests as an excuse to vandalize and steal something.

No, not all riots at black-oriented protests. But at this particular one -- yes, it was white folks carrying out the mayhem.

And nope, there was no "treachery" involved. These Black Bloc weenies have no ulterior motives. They just really like to destroy stuff. They don't really care what is the political goal of the event or protest. If there might be an opportunity to run around and smash things, they'll attend.

    Black Panther Forever,

Your facts are roughly true except the last Marines were out by the end of 1971, not 1970. Some of the last of us of the special forces variety still had some work to do. I spent 1969 with the 5th Special Forces Group in Nha Trang headquarters. That operation resulted in some "trouble" best not to discuss here. In 1970, I was engaged briefly in an operation no longer associated with the 5th and was severely wounded in a fire fight. After that, I retired O-6 ending 24 years of service and returned to my home in ME. I took to sailing and found it to be very good for this Marine. I am now 87.

I never claimed to be part of any Dustoff unit. But trust me, neither was your friend either who claims to be from the 159th. Go back and read his post and you'll see a very telling mistake there. Don't tip him off. Ask him some questions and see what you get.

Oil and gas being sold below the cost of US production is not a good thing.
Top tier oil and gas field workers make on average $1,700/week. Layoffs are now being issued as the oil and gas fields are on furlough.

Excise taxes on gas sold at the pump is a giant slush fund in most states, key to propping up teh "gibsmedats" of the parasite class. When the price of gas sold at the pump goes down, so does the state revenue. In this case, significantly.

Other oil producing countries, such as Canada, are already feel the negative effects. The Canadian dollar has plunged relative to the US dollar, to about 88c/USD.

There is always a lag effect and the true effects of the economic warfare being waged against the US hasn't been fully felt yet, but it will be. The potential for economic meltdown will make all others in comparison look like child's play.

In spite of the below cost of production cost of oil and gas, more ships continue to be placed into dry dock according to the Baltic Dry Index. Shipping worldwide continues its slowdown.

I think young people think of Vietnam with a mixture of fatalism and false sentimentality they've gotten from watching too many movies. But I can tell you this, that as horror-filled as war is, there are moments interwoven with that horror which are truly glorious.

I remember one operation in the Shau Valley back in ’68. I ordered three men to parallel wire some Claymores along the Ho Chi Minh near the Laotian border. We then ran the wires to 12 Jeep batteries. That night we could hear movement on the trail and we set them off. The next morning there were NVA “components” as far as you could see, even in the trees. I have to say it was a glorious sight after taking such a beating from them on Tet.

I'll have you know that many of us who served in Vietnam were highly accomplished personnel. In fact, I entered service in the USMC in 1947 and earned advanced degrees in public policy at Harvard and also in military logistics and strategy which studying in Europe. I became fluent in both French and Russian as well. That you disparage my service and others reveals your lack of genuine character and good moral fiber. Yet, I think anyone who meets you must easily discern this deficiency.

But there's another type of greatness that does not involve books. Let me ask you. Have you ever tried advancing uphill into interlocking, grazing, harassing and interdicting machine gun fire? Have you ever watched your best friend take a chest full of bullets for you before succumbing to those wounds right in front of you on the battle field? If you had anything but be a coddled, pampered, spoiled brat your entire life, then you'd know the meaning of war and not address so flippantly those who have served and sacrificed to protect the very freedoms you now enjoy without any degree of gratitude.

Brother Col, stop your nit picking about certain events that you MAY have forgotten. For all intent the Marines started winding down prior to the 70s. True to word, Marines had service units in Saigon and any where where there was a Naval presence. You say you were 87 and was in RVN in 70, so you were 42 years old. Now I was 18. Psychological who would/should fare the war better emotionally. This conversation started because Iwrote that 45 years later I still battle with the demons any traumatic event would produce.

Col (ret) I know that you may have had some top notch missions - being with Special Forces, but take a moment to go to you tube and find out who had the most dangerous job in Rvn. That was a Dustoff helicopter. We had no WEAPONS. As per Geneva rules. If you were wounded in Vn most likely a medivac chopper came and got you. You may be I out of the 900,000 missions total for ALL the dust offs/ medivac s.

Now to address your "stolen valor ". Issues. You are compelled now to out me as per The Stolen Valor Act 2013. My name for the 10th time is Sp5 Larry Armstrong, 159th medivac, Cu Chi, RVN, 1969-70. I was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal with valor. I live in Newport News, Va. So now that you have this info take it to the authorities. If you are real I should expect a knock on the door.

PS you were like a moving target about your time and unit in the war.

Good people on this site if the Col is real I will not be on this site, I will be in the joint where most people in America are beginning to think.

I do want to thank Sis Y for bringing out the facts that no two vat earns should be besmirching each other on a web site. also Bro. Pilot and Sis lilac for the positive ness you lay down daily.

Colonel..... I am dissapointed. You did not do any research on the computer. I will never say anything against any man that served in Vietnam. The older guys got me thru that hell and I could never repay them. I will always speak from real experiances. You can call me anything but don't call me a liar. I will always tell the truth at this stage of the game.

Some one made the Comment to Colonel PTSD that he owed slave for his lifestyle. Exactly how do white people owe slaves anything? How would you pay them if you did? Aren't they long dead?

Hey Larry, after looking at the Military Times, that has a data base of all those awarded a DFC, somehow your name doesn't seem to be listed. Oh, there are some Larry Armstrong's there, a total of 5, however they're not you. Officers in the AF before your time. Care to explain? Just saying.

  69. SAP2, these crackas are ONLY interested in dysfunctional Blacks which is why they weakly attempt to attack your credibility. It's also why the uneducated flake two slice Hilly AKA QLB is always posting crime stats. I'm normally pretty empathetic toward mentally ill people but the sheer malovence toward Blacks these mutants show is pure satanical.

I am very disappointed that there are people here who degrade and disrespect decorated Vietnam Veterans like SAP2.

What's even more disappointing is Field allows this to go on.

SAP@, I too served in RVN and my biggest regret is that so many died for their country without the respect and honor they deserved.

The phony Col's comments only prove that putting one's life on the line for Americans is not worth it.

That war left a bitter taste in my mouth but not as much as my fellow countrymen who did not appreciate my service.

Field should not allow heartless people like the Col or QLB to post such hurting comments to those of us who were profoundly affected by that war.

My brother SAP2, it's not your character that is not in question for it is honorable and respected by those of us who served. The character in question is QLB and the Col for they come from the bowels of hell.

I just wish Field would not post their comments about that war.

QLB... Thank you for you inadvertently pointing meto the MT newspaper. The paper said I must be registered by sending in my awards to verify. Then they will authenticate what I sent, I am talking out the side of my neck . Don't want to agitate anybody about what we comment about. Way to pull up! That a good site to reconnect with a family.tu

Of course, a racist like QLB will do anything to hurt Blacks.

For awhile, conservatives seemed to be going through a stage where they hated being called racist and they refused to admit that they were. There was a social stigma against it,and their rational for saying that they aren't racist might have come from things like their support of Allen West. The recent racial tension might be leading to a new stage of more open racism, but Scalise downplaying his past seems like he is trying to hide his racism more than he did in the past. On the surface, the context of his past looks like he was flaunting, "I'm just as racist as David Duke, but I'm electable". Now he seems to be trying to hide it. But there might not be an indication of a social direction in what he does. He might just be tailoring how he wants to present himself according to whom he runs against.
