"It's gotta be da shoes", Marco.

Image result for marco rubio shoes images"Is it the shoes? ... ITS GOTTA BE DA SHOES"

I can hear my man Mars Blackmon hollering at Marco Rubio now: It's gotta be da shoes, Marco!

What a crazy political season. Poor Marco Rubio could find his campaign going down the tubes because of a pair of shoes.

Marco must have thought that no one would notice his boots with the high heels. Shame on him. He should know by now that running for president would put him under a serious microscope.

Everything he does and says is scrutinized to the tenth degree.

The guy just wanted to seem a couple of inches taller. He knows that Americans prefer their presidents tall.   Marco is 5' 10" which isn't bad if you want to be the leader of say, Japan, but it isn't cutting it if you want to be the leader of the free world.

"Let me get this right,” ..... ISIS is cutting people’s heads off, setting people on fire in cages, Saudi Arabia and Iran are on the verge of a war, the Chinese are landing airplanes on islands that they built and say belong to them in what are international waters and somewhat territorial waters. Our economy is flat-lined, the stock market is falling apart, but boy are we getting a lot of coverage about a pair of boots. This is craziness, people.”

No it's not Marco, it's America. We tend to be superficial like that. And we prefer to see our presidents wearing wingtips than some Maison  Margiela knockoffs.

But Marco shouldn't be mad at the public, he should be mad at his presidential rivals. They are the ones making all kinds of jokes and mocking him about his footwear. Rand Paul (who himself looks more like a jockey than presidential candidate) couldn't contain himself and made all kinds of jokes about Marco before going on The View

Personally, I thought that they looked alright. The snug fitting Polo fleece he was rocking, on the other hand, not so much.

Finally, if you don't think it can be hard being black in America, after watching and reading about the following two incidents you just might change your mind.

One man was jogging while black,  and the other one was simply shopping at Wal Mart while black.

I swear, to get that kind of unwanted scrutiny as a white man, you would have to be a presidential candidate with a fancy pair of shoes.

  1. Nah, people being mistaken for a bad guy with a gun doesn't happen. Why would it? According to the Ltgovernor of Texas EVERYONE should have a gun. Now for the rest of the non-crazy world we have to ask ourselves what would have happened it the wannabe linebacker had a gun. Whohoo, good times.

Marco Rubio should be glad he didn't decide to wear "mom jeans." Obama made that apparently unforgivable mistake, which definitively proved to armchair psychologists all over the wingnut-o-sphere that he's too wimpy and queer to be commander-in-chief of the armed forces and therefore ISIS and Putin WILL DESTROY AMERICA.

Of course, the Republican wardrobe police seem to be dreadfully inconsistent. Somehow they've missed Rick Santorum's penchant for hideously dorky vest sweaters. And Trump's hair and complexion are fashion crimes against humanity that should result in calls for his summary execution.

And then there's Chris Christie looking like Humpty Dumpty on the baseball field. If Christie by some miracle ends up getting nominated, that failed PR attempt will probably come back to haunt him as his own laughter-inducing "Dukakis in the tank" moment.

These people are so busy getting rich off the public dime they don't even care how they dress/look.

It's not really craziness or superficiality,it's the very obviousness of the fact that they have lost all touch with the rest of the plebes/proletariat.

Same thing happens here. They put on a pair of cheap Walmart jeans (as if all people wore those ;) that are obviously only used to stump in, and which is very obvious they have not nor will ever, wear on any other occasion. As if we were fools.

Of course when you see them around or at the airport jetting off to St. Moritz for skiing, or the Amalfi coast, or Spain,( they love to go to Spain :)they have on the Gucci, Margiello and Chanel numbers. Gone and retired is the humble Walmart attire ahahaha!

Politicians are the same all over.

Well, let's face it, you can tell by looking at his shoes, Marco Rubio is not ready for prime time. Now, a candidate, Black or White, running for President wouldn't be caught dead in those boots. Marco scars me. If he were to become President he would press the red button and blow the earth out of orbit.

IMHO, Rubio is untrustworthy and has no business even running for President. He is without a doubt an asshole. Even his boots say he is an asshole.

So, in Florida, a guy tackles another guy who has a gun. Where have we seen this movie before? What if he had blown his fool head off? an open-and-shut case of lawful self-defense? What are your thoughts on this James Bold?

Mario is Cuban and Cubans are considered the top of the Latino/Spanish human chain because they are considered White. So, anyone calling Rubio names ought to check their lineage before doing so. But usually Latinos of color are jealous of Cubans with white skin. This is well-known, esp in and around the islands.

Cubans are the elite with 'money'. That's why they are Republicans.

Hell, even Jamaican born lawyers obsess enough about his shoes to dedicate a superficial post to it.

Here you go again FieldNegro. More abuse from the government and from anti-gun "vigilantes" that vote like you.

    The pattern keeps repeating FieldNegro.

There must be a good reason you avoid links to NRA members shooting Black people.

    And by the government.

  13. Go over to Esquire.com and read the article about the Feb. issue's cover. And cover article:

"...Among the many surprises is that black Americans are now more optimistic about the country than white Americans."

Also true, and related, that black Americans are more RATIONAL than the old white farts they polled, namely those planning to vote Republican.

To be disgruntled these days means squat. Unless your reasons are sane.

February's cover boy is, of course, Trump.

What is with Republicans and the lack of common sense or a filter? No wonder Trump is leading, they love their leaders to have the same discretion as a 5 year old.

"...Among the many surprises is that black Americans are now more optimistic about the country than white Americans."

This is not a surprise, when you think about it. There are at least a couple major trends happening in this country.

First, our economic system is becoming steadily more structurally unfair and elitist. That screws everyone except the folks who are already rich. Those who are in the top, say, 20% of earners have reason to celebrate. Everyone else has reason to be furious.

Second, the country is becoming less racist. (You might not think this is true, because of things like the Trump campaign. But those people haven't gotten more numerous. They've gotten louder.)

So if you're black, it's a good news / bad news situation. Yes, it's harder to get ahead in general because of the structural economic factors, but at least you're not facing as many bigotry-related roadblocks as you used to be. In fact, for some black people, the ones who are the most fortunate, even with the worsening economic situation, the decrease in racism might leave them with a net improvement in living standards, at least as compared to how things were a few decades ago.

If you're white, it's just all bad news. There's no upside. White folks never were facing racism, so there's no silver lining to offset the increasing classism of our country. It's absolutely understandable that lower-income whites are angry as their lives get worse.

But here's the most disturbing part: Some of those pissed off white people are plugged into right-wing propaganda media that are drip-feeding them false information. They are being told, over and over again, that the decline in their living standards is happening because racism is decreasing. They are being told that somehow their lives are being made worse in order that the lives of "undeserving, lazy and criminal" blacks and recent immigrants can be made better through the action of the sinister white-people-hating government.

Obviously, this is completely bananas. But it's what they believe, and it's what is fueling support for Trump. It's what's motivating those dunces now camped out in a national park in Oregon, demanding the feds give them free land simply because they want it. Some of them have genuine reason to be mad, but they've been completely misled as to the causes of / solutions to their problems.

Well, I guess Donald Trump can relax now, safe in the knowledge that he will not be whacked by a Mexican drug lord. His nemesis, El Chapo Guzman, has been captured.
