The wolf at Liberty University.

Image result for bible images "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."

That is from the book of Matthew from Donald trump's favorite book, the bible.

But if I were some of these evangelicals who are falling over Donald trump I would heed the words of that scripture.

Because, well.... "Trump, a longtime casino proprietor who left the first of his three wives for his then-mistress, was not known for talking publicly about his religious life."

Nothing says Christian like dumping your wife for your mistress.

I saw clips of trump giving a speech at Liberty University today, and all I can say is now I understand how some of these mega churches survive. Clearly the man is a "false prophet", and he lying to the faithful for political gain, but they couldn't see past their hatred for Hillary and the evil democrats to notice it.

The Donald got so comfortable running his fake Christian routine on the faithful that he even started quoting scriptures at one point.

But then....

"After vowing to protect Christians across the globe, Trump read a verse from Second Corinthians — one of the books in the New Testament. But Trump flubbed the name, pronouncing it "Two Corinthians," as it's often written in text."

"Two" and not second, Donald? Folks, raise your hands if you have ever heard a Christian refer to a book in the bible as something like "Two" and not Second. And here I thought the bible was his "favorite book."

Still, to me, that was not the worst part of his speech. Him invoking the name of Dr. King had that beat. It was disgraceful, and the way he did it was particularly egregious.

"Trump said little about Martin Luther King Jr., whose holiday happened to fall on the same day as the school's first convocation of the semester. Instead, he ambled through a PG-13 version of his usual stump speech, at times asking the crowd whether he could say certain things and claiming record attendance. "We're dedicating the record to the late, great Martin Luther King," he said."

The Donald is the opposite of everything Dr, King ever stood for. If he wasn't so blinded by his ego he would have seen just how absurd and farcical him dedicating the size of one of his crowds to a man who gave his life for peace and tolerance--- on the day that we celebrate his legacy--- truly was.

Brother Field, don't you think you are being a little hard on Trump? I mean, he has never said anything offensive about us. In fact, he mentioned that Blacks love him. Fyi, I'm one who loves Trump and will be voting for him.

As far as his quote from the bible, I have used 'two' Corinthians most of my life. You obviously have not been to enough black churches. Hell, I thought Trump was just trying to get down with our folks.

Please, lay off Trump, he's a good man.

  7. The Donald's version of Christianity is no different than that practiced by those in his audience. For example, the young lady in Kentucky who was defending marriage when she herself had been married what 4 times and was pregnant with another man's baby while married. This is the woman Mike Huckabee defended. It seems the the more religious, the more gun nutty, the more racist is tied to a lack of travel and a lack of IQ. Sadly this country has a lot of this to offer.

    ---

I made the point last week on this blog that Professor Hawkins violated the theological precepts of her employer by making a categorically false statement about a fundamental tenet of Christianity. She said Christians and Muslims worship the same God, which is not true. Christianity and Islam have quite different conceptions of God. She also chose to do this at her place of employment, a Christian college, on the start of Advent, a very important day in the Christian calendar.

She is entitled to her own theological opinions, but she is a professor at a Christian College and is supposed to support the institution's theological interpretations. Being an attention seeking social justice warrior, she decided to make this announcement wearing a hijab and encouraging all the other women at the school to follow her lead. For Christmas.

She has also refused to engage in any dialogue with the college, preferring to bask in the adoration of people hostile to Christianity while pursuing legal action against her former employer.

The only correlation between Christianity and Islam is that both are monotheistic. Conceptions of right and wrong, and of grace and redemption are decidedly different. In fact, the professor's statement could be sufficient grounds in many Muslim circles to merit an "honor killing" for insulting Islam. Salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone is totally foreign and anathema to Muslims.

The professor is either willfully ignorant or intellectually dishonest. Respecting those of a different worldview is different from syncretism. The latter respects neither God of the Bible nor Allah of the Qur'an.

"That is from the book of Matthew from Donald trump's favorite book, the bible."

What does a Muslim care for The Book, let alone The People of The Book, besides making them submit and pay the dhimmi taxes?

"Nothing says Christian like dumping your wife for your mistress."

Nothing says Muslim like getting another wife to spite your existing wives.

"The Donald is the opposite of everything Dr, King ever stood for."

  19. No worries, Anon: Crafting replies take time :-) And respectfully disagree with the narrative saying Prof. Hawkins deliberately set out to undermine the tenets of Christianity. Pointing out a common theme showcasing what makes a people of faith is exactly what Jesus would have done.

Shame the message of faith and compassion that Prof. Hawkins especially imparted the season of Advent has been met with enormous misundetstanding.

When learning of Prof. Hawkins' Facebook posting, I immediately thought of a song I learned in my elementary Catholic school called "One God" -- "So many children calling to Him by many a different name. One Father, loving each the same. Many the ways all of us pray to One God..."

Grade school was 40 years ago. Amazing that I recall most of the lyrics without google. If time permits, google or youtube "One God."

No one is denying the fundamental differences amongst the world's religions. With expertise in political science, Prof. Hawkins is well versed in these ideological perspectives. Yet with the extreme discourse finding its way to Advent celebrations, Prof. Hawkins embarked on furthering a spiritual message that truly unites people of faith, despite differences in doctrine.

Moreover, it's my belief agnostics and atheists, in their own special way, unite us in the human spirit that promotes the greater good.

So Trump goes over like gangbusters at someplace like Liberty University, regardless of his failure to live what most would call a devout lifestyle?

Breaking news: "Bear Accused of Woodland Defecation."

There is a certain flavor of self-righteous white evangelical Christianity that is in direct conflict with basically everything in the New Testament. In my view, they're about the worst, most hypocritical sort of Christians imaginable: prosperity pimps, bigots, warmongers. (If you believe Jesus directed his flock to kick the undeserving poor as hard as possible, or that war should always be the first resort in any international conflict, you just might be reading your Bible wrong.)

I believe, and have always believed that 'I' (meaning me/myself) and my Father are 'one' also. I believe the earth and everything on it are one with Almighty God.

As I understand it Islam believes in an Almighty,Omnipotent God, with Muhammad being His Prophet.

Christianity believes in an Almighty,Omnipotent God, with Jesus being His prophet.

    Same thing, different language.

My thoughts are, and I may be wrong and I'm only assuming now, because I have not heard or seen (no TV :) the good professor express herself on the matter, that this is what she sought to educate her students on.

The rigidity fundamentalists, all fundamentalists of all religions practice and obey those tenets, is what has caused the situation.

If I reverse the situation in my mind, I can imagine that in an Islamic madrassah, or in an Orthodox Jewish shul the same exact thing would occur.

But to me, the question then is, if those basic tenets are watered down and altered, then that's a slippery slope also...

And the argument/topic/debate here is not if the Bible is right, correct, good etc.

  43. Hillary's Emails Contain Documents Classified Even More Highly Than Top Secret:

EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton's emails on her unsecured, homebrew server contained intelligence from the U.S. government's most secretive and highly classified programs, according to an unclassified letter from a top inspector general to senior lawmakers.

Fox News exclusively obtained the text of the unclassified letter, sent Jan. 14 from Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III. It laid out the findings of a recent comprehensive review by intelligence agencies that identified "several dozen" additional classified emails -- including specific intelligence known as "special access programs" (SAP).

That indicates a level of classification beyond even “top secret,” the label previously given to two emails found on her server, and brings even more scrutiny to the presidential candidate’s handling of the government’s closely held secrets.

"To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community] element. These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels," said the IG letter to lawmakers with oversight of the intelligence community and State Department. "According to the declarant, these documents contain information derived from classified IC element sources."

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/01/19/inspector-general-clinton-emails-had-intel-from-most-secretive-classified-programs.html

She had one goal: Keeping her emails secret from Republicans, citizens, and the inevitable prosecutors.

Keeping America's secrets secret didn't even make the list.

Now there is incontrovertible evidence that she lied about what was on her server.

With the Inspector General releasing this kind of information, it will cause a great amount of embarrassment and outrage when Loretta Lynch, as planned, refuses to seek an indictment against Hillary.

Many progressives seem to have very little understanding even of Christianity.

Those who have no religion are bound to be forever mystified by the motives of those who are religiously driven.

    Bernard Lewis from 1976:

To the modern Western mind, it is not conceivable that men would fight and die in such numbers over mere differences of religion; there have to be some other "genuine" reasons underneath the religious veil..This is reflected in the present inability, political, journalistic, and scholarly alike, to recognize the importance of the factor of religion in the current affairs of the Muslim world and in the consequent recourse to the language of left-wing and right-wing, progressive and conservative, and the rest of the Western terminology...

To be clear, every politician reverses himself occasionally, or fails to deliver on some campaign promise. It's the nature of politics. But if you never hold any consistent positions, voters really have no idea what you'd do in office and therefore have no reason to vote for you.

"Later that evening, the Flint City Council, which was under a state-appointed emergency manager, voted 7-1 in favor of a switch in the source of its water supply from the City of Detroit to a new Karegnondi Water Authority …"

"According to the paper,[governor’s spokesperson] Wurfel asserted that the city was forced to find another source of water after the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department terminated Flint's contract to continue purchasing water under the terms of its expired contract.
Maybe the Snyder administration is operating under the theory that a lie repeated often enough is eventually accepted as fact.
    But here’s the truth:
Flint did have a choice. It absolutely could have kept using Detroit water until construction of the Karegondi pipeline, which will bring water from Lake Huron to Genesee County, is completed next year.
Instead, in a decision based purely on cost, the Flint emergency manager appointed by Snyder chose to leave the Detroit system early and begin relying on the Flint River in April 2014.
    How do we know that?
Because of a letter the ACLU of Michigan obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.
On March 7, 2014, then-Emergency Darnell Earley (pictured below) wrote to the DWSD, saying:

“Thank you for the correspondence … which provides Flint with the option of continuing to purchase water from DWSD following the termination of the current contract …”
    Thanks, but no thanks.
“… the City of Flint has actively pursued using the Flint River as a temporary water source while the KWA pipeline is being constructed,” wrote Earley. “We expect the Flint Water Treatment Plant will be fully operational and capable of treating Flint River water…”"

"After a public outcry, Snyder and the Legislature approved partial funding for Flint to reconnect to DWSD while it awaits the completion of the KWA. That reconnection to Detroit-supplied water happened Oct. 16. " so much for being ‘kicked off’

    And adding insult to injury:
Should Flint residents pay for lead-poisoned water?

You mean the country that elected an incompetent, race-baiting community organizer who hates America as its President, twice?

Nothing is too stupid for this country.

Hilarious. I mention YET ANOTHER black-on-white hate crime, this one just days old, and Sister Feeled brings up the 5 year-old story of James Craig Anderson.

    Nigga, you trippin'.

Dear Brother Field, I don't know if you remember me but years ago, I use to comment here. During those years I was healthy and full of energy. However, I got sick and lost a leg, and a kidney. Still, I refused to give up even though my state said I could commit assisted suicide if I so desired.

Instead, I have chosen to live and go out of this world kicking and screaming. I was notified today that the blood tests indicate that my one and only kidney is on the blink and that if I don't get a kidney from somewhere before President's Day in February, I could hang it up. Which is the reason I am writing you asap.

Brother Field, would you be willing to help a brother out and donate a kidney?

I know I guy with three kidneys who is looking to get rid of one. He's a boxer and having an extra kidney is a liability. If you are interested, let me know.

  68. Finally a chance to reply to Brian's post @8:31am, citing the Holy Trinity as a fundamental difference between Christianity and Islam.

Yet equally compelling amongst the many sects such as Oneness Pentecostalism and Jehovah Witness is not all Christians believe in the Holy Trinity.

With the several sources I've come across regarding Prof. Larycia Hawkins, her theological statement that she presented to Wheaton College illustrates an unwavering dedication to furthering the gospel with enormous balance and conviction.

This link -- http://www.jrdkirk.com/2016/01/07/the-same-god-larycia-hawkins-statement-for-wheaton/ -- includes Prof. Hawkins theological statement. Only snag is quality issues with full text display on mobile devices.

Should Wheaton College move forward with employment termination, think one significant lesson, in this age of social media, is first ensuring the employer is fully aware of any potential conflicts, as is with the case of "The Same God."

And obviously much better than a hillbilly from Alaska who can't hold a job or a guy who wears magic underwear. Those are instances in which the sane kept the clowns from taking over. Nice try though. Maybe your type will try to elect a reality tv star with a small animal on his head.
