When the NRA made a grown man cry.

Image result for obama cry executive order images"I'm not the type to get my heart broken
I'm not the type to get upset and cry
'Cause I never leave my heart open
Never hurts me to say goodbye
Relationships don't get deep to me
Never got the whole 'in love' thing
And someone can say they love me truly
But at the time it didn't mean a thing
My mind is gone, I'm spinnin' 'round
And deep inside my tears I'll drown
I'm losin' grip, what's happenin'?
I strayed from love, this is how I feel"

Rihanna might as well have been singing that song to president Obama. His Oness shed some tears today while laying out his executive order to combat the out of control gun nuts in this country.

Once again it took him talking about those innocent first graders who were slaughtered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School to bring out his emotional side. I don't know, maybe it's the thought  of losing his own daughters to such a tragedy. Or maybe it was the parents of those children reaching out to him in  a very personal way.

Right-wingnuts are mad , which is reason enough to like what he did. The thing is, though, this executive action really will not have that much impact on current gun laws across the country.  The key provision "would require more gun sellers — especially those who do business on the Internet and at gun shows — to be licensed and would force them to conduct background checks on potential buyers." Another part of the order would include 500 million in federal funding for background checks and tracking lost guns from manufacturers to gun dealers.

This all seems very reasonable to normal people , but  this is NRAmerica, sooooo....

"The gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage, but they can’t hold America hostage. We can’t accept this carnage in our communities,”

Mr. President, grab some tissue, I suspect that you are going to need it again.

Finally, it's nice to be home again.

I have been on the road over the holidays and trying to blog and stay on top of things but it's been hard.

I am now in a familiar environment and ready to share my thoughts and experiences with you.

Let's work through what might be a crazy 2016, together.

That $500 million could take care of a large part of the mental health and poverty situations. Which in turn would solve a large part of the crazy shootings going on in this country.

President doesn't even speak a word about it. Ever.

This is too sad to rant about. Because you collectivists are so fucking mentally warped and in need of an enemy, you'll simply invent your own reality in which to exist.

I suspect that when progressivism finally dies out in America, it won't just fizzle and fade. It will blow up like Wile E. Coyote and an ACME device.

I know that sounds like a lot of money, but at the national level, it really isn't.

That much money might make a small dent in mental health care.

But not poverty. $500 million would be a drop in the ocean as far as addressing poverty is concerned. The U.S. has 45 million people living below the poverty line, so $500 million works out to, like, ten bucks per poor person. (And the official poverty line is already a pretty low-ball assessment of poverty as it is. I'd say the real number of poor Americans is considerably higher.)

Truth is Obama has been the best gun salesman in my lifetime.

According to data from the FBI, 2015 was a record year for gun background checks which reflects demand.

The irony is Obama's attempts to implement gun-control restrictions and his anti-gun rhetoric resulted in spikes in legal gun sales.

I sorta knew that, I guess I was just trying to make a point (of some sort:)

But what really gets me annoyed is that just tonight I saw the ABC news (the only American channel we get on the local free antenna, not ashamed to say we just can't afford cable or satellite)

They were reporting how because of the cold weather coming on, the mayor of NYC was offering shelters to all the homeless!

    HOMELESS

But the all-time-record 342 murders in Baltimore (almost all of them Blacks killed by Blacks) don't make anyone cry.  This is because Black lives only matter if they can be used against Whitey.

There is a strong racial angle to all of this.  Black-on-anyone crime is buried in the press because the elites are out to get Americans (who are not hyphenated and originate from Europe, not Africa).  The problem is that the "oppression" narrative is collapsing after 50 years of Cibil Rites and 7 years in the Obamanation, and Americans have gone from apathetic to upset to furious.  You could have just let the sleeping lion lie, but no... you had to set his tail on fire.  Woe be unto you Dindus.

Really? The other networks don't broadcast in Puerto Rico? I know maybe everyone in PR doesn't speak English, but I'd think it would still be somewhat profitable to have a presence there.

You can probably catch most of the other networks' shows over the Internet, but you'll have put in a little effort to find them.

    Yeah, no kidding.

The U.S. is easily in the top 5 countries for per capita income -- if you don't count the countries that are just oil tanks with a handful of people wandering around on top, or the tax cheat accomplices like Bermuda or Luxembourg.

So there is no excuse for us to have any homeless people at all. The U.S. has an unbelievably unfair economic system, particularly as compared to every other industrialized country.

I think people need guns because our government is so fascist. Collusion of the government and news corporations is by definition fascism. Why are so many of the commercials on news programs about oil companies? Is it because we might want to buy an oil company? Or is it because oil companies want to sponsor the news so they can tell the networks what to say?

The Fairness Doctrine was ended when Reagan was president. Bill Clinton allowed the media to consolidate, and Fox News won the right to lie for all news organizations when George W. Bush was president.. Ninety per cent of the news media is owned by six corporations thanks to Clinton. Snopes will tell you that it it isn't true that Fox News won the right to lie because a local affiliate did it. That local Fox affiliate was owned by the Fox News corporation, News Corp, and News Corp lawyers represented the case. But there are much worse lies. They can tell us anything. I can't believe people can't see through some of the bigger lies. People have cognitive dissonance. They are sheep. There is more investigative journalism on Facebook than there is on TV.

We also have politicians who are paid by the NRA to oppose sensible gun control legislation. If politicians weren't on the take a lot would get done. Jesse Ventura got concealed carry rights in Minnesota by adding a bunch of regulations the NRA didn't want to the legislation, like background checks, waiting periods, and extensive testing that even included mandatory target shooting tests.

Jeffrey Epstein took a plea after being charged with paying underage girls for sex, something defined as statutory rape in Florida. This plea involved the slap on the wrist sentence of 13 months -- and he got to spend his waking hours at his Palm Beach mansion. That is, he only had to check into his "jail" eight hours a day.

Why did he get such a sweetheart deal? Why are the media, always mad for a rape story, not interested?

Why no interest in a case in which federal prosecutors fought to hide the easy conditions of the sentence from the underage victims?

Well, take a guess. It involves Bill Clinton palling around with Epstein, taking the Lolita Express to Pedophile Island, and local Democrat prosecutors who don't seem as interested in a Democrat mega-donor's statutory rape as they were in Rush Limbaugh's pain pill addiction.

The only ones trying confiscate land are the rustic buffoons currently camped out in an Oregon forest preserve. They want to confiscate national park land and give it to themselves. They feel federal land should be rightfully belong to them, on the iron-clad legal grounds that "We the People" means them specifically, not all U.S. citizens.

I would really like to see them apply this same clever reasoning to other scenarios. Such as when a policeman pulls them over for speeding, for instance, they might say, "Officer, the motto printed on your car says you're supposed to protect and SERVE. You're a public SERVANT, right? That means you SERVE me. So go make me a sandwich."

  74. Where Bush was asked every day if he regretted invading Iraq, Obama is never asked if he thinks leaving Iraq had something to do with the chaos engulfing the region, or the vulnerability of citizens here and in Europe to Islamic State-inspired attacks.

Nor is President Obama ever asked whether he still thinks his effort to oust Assad that has left Syria in shambles, tens of thousands dead, and created millions of refugees was a good idea. Never a mention of the Anarcho-Islamist region formerly known as Libya either.

And while Bush was held responsible for every last casualty that occurred anywhere while he held office, Obama is absolved from responsibility for the massacres, rapes and enslavement of innocents that have followed his numerous foreign policy blunders -- given a pass as the victim of forces he did not enable and disasters he didn't create.

"Be very glad we don't have a Republican president," Walter Russell Mead told us in May of last year, warning that if such were so we would be enduring a "merciless media pounding" on the series of "failures, mistakes, and false starts" that have been our lot since Obama took office. Instead, we have a Democrat who is allowed by the press to fail quietly, discreetly, and off center stage.

"Where Bush was asked every day if he regretted invading Iraq, Obama is never asked if he thinks leaving Iraq had something to do with the chaos engulfing the region."

No imbecile. Because it was the invasion of Iraq which subsequently led to the debaathification of that nation, the murder and oppression of the Sunnis, the dismantling of the Iraqi that led to the creation of ISIS and the chaos in the region.

Of course Dubya issued more. Nobody called him dictatorial, tyrannical or any kind of uppity.

Obama, as Charles Pierce has it, looked in his bag and found he had no more fucks to give. Fucks about his Republican opponents, he meant.

Keep at it, Mr. President, there are still several months left.

    No.

"ISIS" stands for "Islamic State in Syria".

Obama started the war in Syria to topple Assad. He ran arms to Syria from Libya, where he and Hillary had recently attacked and overthrew Gaddafi. It was during that gun-running operation that I got killed.

The "rebels" that Obama was supplying in Syria is who turned out to be "ISIS".

Bush is to blame for the fiasco that was the Iraq War.

Libya, Syria, and the mayhem unleashed by ISIS is 100% on Obama.

I know this hard for progressives to grasp, but it is not the number of executive orders that matters, but whether they are within the Constitutionally mandated limits regarding the use of executive orders.

The President is the executive branch of the government. Issuing executive orders is what he is supposed to do. Those orders are supposed to facilitate executing laws passed by congress.

Obama instead is creating laws that congress never authorized using executive orders. This is counter to the both the spirit and the letter of the law.

He has also refused to execute laws passed by congress he has disagreed with.

Obama should be impeached for his abuse of his office.

If he is not, then the precedent has been set and President Trump will be able rule by fiat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed Obama's.

Then do it. Obviously you aren't correct because if you were don't you think the Republican controlled congress would have done it by now? Now go play in traffic.

    You dummy.

ISIS stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria because the group's territory straddles the border between the two counties. ISIL stands for Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.

The Levant is the historic name given to the entire region east of the Mediterranean from Egypt, east to Iran and to Turkey.

Why do people on the left always cheer tyranny? The Constitution exists to protect our rights. There is a process to change the Constitution in place should the people wish it to be changed. Why do you applaud the President circumventing this process and defying the Constitution? Do yo think this makes further violations of the Constitution more likely?

No, the U.S. supplied a small number of arms to the Free Syrian Army. Those arms did not come from Libya.

No, the Free Syrian Army did not become ISIS. ISIS are a completely separate rebel group, which originated out of ex-military and pissed-off Sunni Muslims in Iraq. The ex-military officers were ousted from the Iraq government by the Bush administration, so it's completely fair to say that Bush created ISIS.

No, the U.S. didn't start the Syrian Civil War. That war originated out of local Syrian grievances with Assad and long predated any U.S. involvement. When his citizens protested and demanded democratic reform, Assad started massacring them, which touched off violent resistance. And the minimal aid the U.S. gave to the Free Syria Army after the war began has had virtually no impact on the conflict, one way or the other, because the FSA are badly organized and trained, and are not a meaningful fighting force.

Essentially, the U.S. has a difficult foreign policy dilemma now with regards to intervening in the Syrian Civil War, because all of the major participants are despicable people we hate (Bashar al-Assad or jihadi groups).

So congratulations! You got every single detail of this subject wrong! You fail at current events. Find a more reputable media source for your news and try to educate yourself.

The US sent millions of dollars worth of arms to Sunni Islamist groups fighting Assad, some of which definitely did come through Libya.

"No, the Free Syrian Army did not become ISIS."

Because they always were ISIS, right from the start.

"No, the U.S. didn't start the Syrian Civil War."

There has been low-level resistance to Assad for may years, but it was Obama who supplied the arms and money to make it an all-out war.

These are indisputable facts, and no amount of obfuscation can will change that. History will judge Obama very harshly for what has transpired over the past five years in the Middle East.

Knock-out drugs some rapists use on their victims, Lilac.

For the record, Cosby didn't use roofies; he preferred to use Quaaludes. (It was back in the day when he did his raping, when most people hadn't yet heard about roofies and Quaaludes were still legal.)

He's not only crying for the first graders that were slaughtered, he's crying for the first graders under the guise of "grown men" he has to contend with every single day and all the racism that goes along with it. White women have done a hell of a job raising these so called geniuses who rule our every day lives. The President's father keeps him out of this category, although he's smarter than the whole lot of them.
