"Speaking about Maine's effort to combat drug crime, Paul LePage said that "the enemy right now... are people of color or people of Hispanic origin".
When you go to war... and the enemy dresses in red and you dress in blue, then you shoot at red," he said.
Leading Democrats have urged him to resign.
Mr LePage made the comments while seeking to clarify remarks he made earlier in the week which were criticized as racist.
The press conference capped a controversial 72 hours for the Republican governor."
This is the same guy who went all Travis Bickle on a fellow lawmaker because he thought that the guy called him a racist.
Anyway, Le Page is catching some heat for his behavior, but I am pretty sure that he won't be forced to resign. In fact, you could argue, that given the demographic makeup of the state of Maine, he will win reelection if he decides to run for governor.
This is not the same for his buddy, Donald trump. In order to win the election to become the 45th president of the United States, trump will have to win significantly more minority votes than -according to the polls- he is currently going to receive. With this in mind, Donald has put a full- court press on trying to court the black vote. Unfortunately for the orange haired one, though, that has not been going so well.
Once again, he gave a speech to an almost all white audience about "the African Americans" and about how he plans to make America better by forcing them to clean up their act. You could see him reading the lines from the teleprompter as his handlers no doubt kept their fingers crossed.
They wrote all the right things for him about how African Americans had contributed to America's greatness and how not all African Americans (as he implied before) were living in poverty and looking over their shoulders for fear of being shot, and he was delivering the message---- meant for college educated whites and white suburban mothers to a barn full of screaming right wingers. The optics was sickening, and the speech was predictable.
The worse part of trump's day started before the speech. This is when he took it upon himself to use the tragic death of Dwyane Wade's (Donald, note the spelling) cousin to score cheap political points.
"Donald Trump tastelessly used the tragic shooting death of basketball star Dwyane Wade’s cousin to appeal to black voters — but he couldn’t even spell the Chicago Bulls player’s name correctly.
“Dwayne Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!” Trump tweeted Saturday, a day after 32-year-old Nykea Aldridge was shot dead in the city's South Side. The mom of four did not appear to be the target of the shooting.
Critics swiftly condemned the Republican presidential hopeful's callous message — which at first offered no condolences to Aldridge’s grieving family — and mocked the real estate mogul for misspelling Wade’s first name.
Three hours later, Trump deleted the typo tweet and sent out a new message, which was identical to his first post but with the correct spelling of Dwyane."
I bet Donald wishes that he was running to be governor of Maine instead of president of the United States, then he wouldn't have to deal with "the blacks".

Nah, he was just saying that Maine is run by the Crips and they'll shoot at any Bloods that show up....yea, that's the ticket!
ReplyDeleteHe already got re-elected in 2014, so unless you can serve more than 2 terms in Maine, this is it. He sort of reminds me a little of Rob Ford, but not as smart and with less class.
ReplyDelete-Doug in Oakland
Yisheng, you are a wretched excuse for a human being.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Hillary will win Maine. She will also win the election! Go Hillary!
ReplyDelete#ImWithHer
Muh dik!
ReplyDeleteI agree that Yisheng is a loser and a moron. I wish nothing but the worst for her and her family.
ReplyDeleteWho really cares about some white-majority state like Maine? Maine is irrelevant to the rest of the country anyway. Le Page and Trump are both incredibly stupid. So are their worthless supporters.
ReplyDeleteI say once more: Gary Johnson is the ONLY candidate worth voting for this November.
ReplyDeleteThe B-I-B-L-E. Yes that's the book for me.
ReplyDeleteLePage knows his negroes. You know, old Smoothie and the gang. The gop is one classy organization.
ReplyDeletePaul Le Page is one ugly motherfucker. That being said, I would still trust him more than any progressive moron, or Hillary supporter. Neither of them have much in the way of brains.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! White boys have tiny brains and tiny dicks! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteFuck Generation Z and the Baby Boomers.
ReplyDeleteHey Yisheng, do you actually enjoy going through life as a slimy piece of shit?
ReplyDeleteWhy are white boys so ugly and stupid, and white women so fuckable?
ReplyDeleteFuck all you motherfuckers.
ReplyDeleteTrump 2016
oh nos, it's wacism!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately that (a high profile murder of a minority) will have to ignite some positive approaches to this fast track murder racket my race is participating in. I know there are so hurdles such as self hatred and hating anybody that looks same-same is the driving forces that may not change anytime soon. How can you change a race that have had 400 plus years of disliking each other regardless as to how it started.
ReplyDeleteI have felt and lived in a period in time where the seemly impossible was possible. It felt great to know that I could exist without fear of an unknown or unintroduced Black. Believe it or not, the period was in late 60s and early 70 in a far away place where we invented something called "the dap". Meeting a Black you would offer your fist as a means of solidarity... not as an act of hostility. And YES... we had plenty guns that we did not use on each other.
Now I find myself wondering if we can pull ourselves out of this quagmire... after all the majority has a formula of keeping the status quo by using the status of the non-caring (active?) warriors. The NBA, NFL and Olympic glory offer a buffer whereby the status of the abused can not be discussed. ALL changes in society have always been led by the young. Unfortunately our best is kept quiet by the roars of adoration in the crowded stadiums.
Power to Brother Kaepernick and Brother Williams... two warriors that by virtue of their skin color could have stayed on the sidelines.
Best description of Maine's governor: "human bowling jacket Paul Le Page." —Charles Pierce, Esquire Politics
ReplyDeleteBest description of Trump's hair: "cotton candy made out of piss." —Penn Jillette
The Le Page descriptive is admittedly surreal. But so is Le Page.
NOTHING is important to racist wypipo until crap starts happening to them in large numbers ie drug addiction.
ReplyDelete"Anyway, Le Page is catching some heat for his behavior, but I am pretty sure that he won't be forced to resign. In fact, you could argue, that given the demographic makeup of the state of Maine, he will win reelection if he decides to run for governor."
ReplyDeleteThis is actually not true. LePage is not at all popular. He only landed in the governor's mansion due to the deficiencies of our electoral system -- in both of his elections, LePage faced two opponents, who split the anti-LePage vote. He is governor despite never having had the support of a majority of the state's voters (his vote percentages for the two elections were 38.1% and 48.2%, respectively). A system of instant runoff voting would prevent this sort of disastrous, undemocratic outcome.
The Maine legislature already tried to remove him, but the clown narrowly escaped impeachment for his stupid and racist antics. And as Doug has noted, he is limited to two consecutive terms, according to Maine law (I had to look it up), so the state's long nightmare will finally be over in 2019.
Trump is probably wishing he had LePage's luck, and that Bernie Sanders had acted as a spoiler candidate to split the Democrat vote and make him president against the will of the American people. Unfortunately for him, it didn't work out that way. It turns out that the spoiler candidates this fall will instead be right-wingers: de facto Republican Evan McMullin and Libertarian Gary Johnson. Sorry, Trump, but it looks like the universe hates you as much as all decent people do.
Good on Colin Kaepernick for taking a stand, a rarity for rich professional athletes. Of course, conservatards will crucify him for using his American right of free speech and freedom of expression.
ReplyDeleteSuburbanites are pussies, and so is The Ministry of Truth.
ReplyDeleteA further note on Maine:
ReplyDeleteI just learned today that when Maine's citizens enter voting booths this fall, they will encounter a ballot initiative to enact instant runoff voting in all future elections. Such a reform will effectively LePage-proof their state, revising the voting system so some fringey fruitcake whose views frankly offend most voters can never again sneak in by the back door.
I predict they will vote yes on this option.
Hillary is the real deal! I can't wait for her to be elected in November, and then to take office in January! Go Hillary, a class act!
ReplyDelete#ImWithHer
Don't let his size fool you. Paul Le Page has a really microscopic dick.
ReplyDeleteTrump just isn't going to win this election. He has losers like Paul Le Page, Rudy Guiliani, Chris Christie, Mike Pence, and Newt Gingrich on his side. That right there is a recipe for loserville. His supporters are also losers, and really really stupid.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Lots of butthurt NFL fans whining about Colin Kaepernick. Of course, most NFL fans are fat white male losers who like anorexic women and worshiping a stupid god. I hope Kaepernick and the 49ers win the Super Bowl, and then all these fat white male losers will piss and shit themselves all over! Hilarious!
ReplyDeletehttps://theintercept.com/2016/08/28/colin-kaepernick-is-righter-than-you-know-the-national-anthem-is-a-celebration-of-slavery/
ReplyDeleteThe Governor is making the same face testicle sweat/stalking assnon's daddy makes when his mammy takes her drawz off.
ReplyDelete"On Wednesday, LePage said at a town hall that he keeps records of every single drug dealer who has been arrested in Maine. “I don’t ask them to come to Maine and sell their poison, but they come and I will tell you that 90-plus percent of those pictures in my book, and it’s a three-ringed binder, are black and Hispanic people from Waterbury, Conn., the Bronx and Brooklyn,” the governor said."

If true, the Governor has correctly identified the drug dealing enemies of his citizens.
Colin Kaepernick is fugazi as Trump's appeal to African Americans. His actions were:
ReplyDeleteNot Heroic - San Fran is the MOST segregated major city in the US, yet Marshawn Lynch has invested in providing affordable housing in nearby Oakland. Crickets on Colin
Not Historic - Colin, in Sept 2014, was the 1st NFL player penalized for calling another player N!gg@
Not Sacrificial - Ali sacrificed his prime for the Antiwar cause - I cannot find the protest, forum, rally, panel where Colin attended;
Not Iconic - Tommie Smith & Carlos Moore STOOD, after winning the Gold Medal. No stand by Colin, while in the 2013 NFC Championship - 1 year after Trayvon's death nor in 2012;
Not Political - Was he on the Undefeated panel? Black News programs? Mainstream? Did he recruit other players to protest?
His stand is the kind of representative of the lazy pretense of activism that has infected the country.
Where's his foundation? (LBJ)
Where's his article detailing specific problems and proposing specific policy solutions? (Jabari Parker).
He called America racist, sat down during the national anthem, and that's it?
That's just indulging teen anger without even spending enough effort to really learn about the complexities of the problem.
It's a teenager's version of social media activism the type of thing you see from Trump or at Trump rallies.
Chicago does not need Thought's and Prayers.
ReplyDeleteAggressive use of Stop & Frisk, Conspiracy statutes and 3 strike sentencing against the 1400 super predators identified by Chicago Police Official Eddie Johnson would end the murders.
I'm black, and I know, if those black neighborhoods were policed like an affluent white neighborhood, followed by violence mitigating punishment; violence would end, the wailing at the funerals would be replaced by the wailing at the courthouse and the visitation room.
We would welcome a new song, the gavel dropping would sound like freedom from these 'gangstas'
If Chicago citizens wanted to change the laws, they would vote out the existing politicians who made the laws and are in charge of the police and elected politicians who would be tougher on crime. We can only assume Chicago voters are happy with the laws their politicians have implemented and satisfied with the status quo because that hasn't happened. Not my state. Not my city. Not my problem.
