OPEN THREAD WEDNESDAY.

MORE DISCLAIMERS It's open thread Wednesday field hands, and I need your thoughts on a couple of things:

What do you think about the DOJ putting a special prosecutor over the trump Russia probe?

And do you believe republicans when they say that they were just joking about trump owing the Russians money?

They first said that there was no such talk, but when they realized that there was an audio tape of the little get together, and so they changed their tune.

  1. Lots happening today. Not much good for Drumpf. Take a while to digest all this. Mueller might be a good choice, but I'm guessing he is of the wingnut persuasion. Dems always pick wingnuts for special counsels to avoid the charge of partisanship. Wingnuts always choose wingnuts-usually nasty party line bastards because they don't want to avoid partisanship, they want to protect their party.

This is a big win for the Democrat/media establishment. This fake story has pushed the DOJ to cave into the demands for a special prosecutor. The prosecutor, hired to investigate something that never happened, will not report Trump’s innocence. Special prosecutors never do. They justify their own existence, importance, budget, and staff by finding something to prosecute. Usually the “crime” they end up going after is one that his own investigation has created.

Remember the Valerie Plame affair? After years of work the special prosecutor found that no crime had occurred. The person who leaked her link to the CIA was authorized to do so. With no crime to come up with, Patrick Fitzgerald, the prosecutor, indicted poor Scooter Libby, an aide to VP Dick Cheney, for perjury, a crime that would never have taken place had there been no investigation.

    That’s how special prosecutors work.

Here's what the Washington Post claimed happened:

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016 exchange, which was listened to and verified by The Washington Post. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) immediately interjected, stopping the conversation from further exploring McCarthy’s assertion, and swore the Republicans present to secrecy.

    Sworn to secrecy? Oh, my.

Compare that to the actual transcript:

McCarthy: There’s…there’s two people, I think, Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump…[laughter]…swear to God.

Ryan: This is an off the record…[laughter]…NO LEAKS…[laughter]…alright?!

    [Laughter]

Ryan: This is how we know we’re a real family here.

Scalise: That’s how you know that we’re tight.

    [Laughter]

Ryan: What’s said in the family stays in the family.

How do you think the Washington Post's version compares to the actual version?

I have never seen such hysteria in my life.

  6. I'm not sure Robert Mueller, a Bush appointee as FBI director, would be my ideal choice of a special counsel, as far as impartiality is concerned. But he's not the worst, either. We'll see what happens.

In other news, professional black-people scolder and Blue Lives Matter supporter Sheriff David Clarke isn't going to be the new director of the FBI. Instead, Trump is making him an assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security. Essentially, Clarke will be changing his job responsibilities from crapping on black people to crapping on Latino people.

    Hooray?

Actually there probably are some people happy about that appointment: the residents of the Milwaukee area, who are now finally free of a guy who keeps killing people in the prison he runs (badly). But the rest of the country has little cause for rejoicing.

Call it the Deep State, call it the Establishment, the Globalist Elites or whatever, but there is full-on coup attempt being waged through the media against a lawfully elected President.

They want war - either abroad or at home. When Trump caved in and bombed Syria, they let up for a couple of weeks and even praised him. But when he failed to push it farther, they went back to trying to force him out.

Trump could save himself by acquiescing to a ground war in Syria, or he could try to fight it out here. His problem are the Republicans eager to join with the Democrat war project.

If they don't get their war, they'll be pushing for riots this summer across America.

We are absolutely fucked. The whole world is absolutely fucked.

It turns out that Seth Rich, the murdered DNC staffer, was in direct contact with WikiLeaks. It should be noted that MacFadyen's death is not suspicious, as he was 76 and died of lung cancer. Rich's murder, on the other hand, is not only suspicious, but is beginning to make sense.

An FBI forensic report of Rich's computer -- generated within 96 hours after Rich's murder -- showed he made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, a now-deceased American investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker, and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time, the federal source told Fox News.

“I have seen and read the emails between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks,” the federal investigator told Fox News, confirming the MacFadyen connection. He said the emails are in possession of the FBI, while the stalled case is in the hands of the Washington Police Department.

The revelation is consistent with the findings of Wheeler, whose private investigation firm was hired by a third party on behalf of Rich’s family to probe the case. “My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks,” Wheeler said. “I do believe that the answers to who murdered Seth Rich sits on his computer on a shelf at the DC police or FBI headquarters.”

The federal investigator, who requested anonymity, said 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments between Democratic National Committee leaders, spanning from January 2015 through late May 2016, were transferred from Rich to MacFadyen before May 21.

Just a friendly reminder: This hysteria is based on a story from an anonymous source about a memo no reporter has ever seen.

The alleged memo is about a man (Flynn) who committed no crime, as his talking to Russians was TOTALLY LEGAL & PROPER. Flynn was fired for lying to Pence.

The statement the President is alleged to have made does not include any order to the Director of the FBI to stand down, and does not constitute an obstruction of justice.

  14. Jury finds white Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby not guilty in fatal shooting of unarmed black man Terence Crutcher:

The lawyer for a Tulsa police officer says Betty Jo Shelby is elated that a jury has found her not guilty in the shooting of an unarmed black man last September.

Defense Attorney Shannon McMurray says Shelby is “elated and very proud of her jury.”

McMurray says Shelby is ready to get back to her life.

Shelby testified that she shot 40-year-old Terence Crutcher out of fear because she said he didn’t obey commands to lie on the ground and appeared to reach inside his SUV for what she thought was a gun. Prosecutors told jurors that Shelby overreacted, arguing that Crutcher had his hands in their air and wasn’t combative.

Justice has been done for this poor woman.

Robert Mueller was the FBI Director during the 9/11 cover up. He will do what the Deep State wants him to do. Don't expect the truth from government investigations. The 9/11 Commission found that buildings fall through themselves at the speed of gravity. First they left out Building 7 out of their report entirely. Then after complaints about that they wouldn't admit it fell as fast as if you dropped a bowling ball off the roof, until an independent scientist proved it. Their findings were roadrunner cartoon "science". Even though Saudi Arabia financed the hijackers we have been fighting Saudi Arabia's enemies ever since. That's what the Russia bashing is about. Plus things like wanting a pipeline from Qatar to Europe that would go through Syria. Russia doesn't want it because they would have to compete with cheaper oil.

An Indiana Democrat, Lee Hamilton, chaired the Iran/Contra investigation. He ended it and declared Reagan innocent when investigators started to find that Reagan and Bush Sr. had made a pre-election deal with Ayatollah Khomeini to not release the America hostages while Carter was still president, in exchange for weapons. Years later Hamilton was pulled out of retirement to co-chair the 9/11 Commission. They even had a PNAC (New Pearl Harbor) Committee member on the 9/11 Commission, John Lehman. Ask Anita Hill what she thinks about government investigations.

The Benghazi hearings were a witch hunt. Only Rand Paul even asked what the CIA was doing in Benghazi and they didn't have him back to the subsequent hearings. They were moving weapons from terrorists in Libya to terrorists in Syria. Investigating the fake Russia scare will uncover some wrong doings and drag out innuendo opportunities. Like investigating Whitewater led to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. But their premise is false. It is hard to believe we are ruled by such corrupt slimy people. Looking in to the Wikileaks Vault 7 leak of CIA spying techniques might shed some light on how they blackmail people. Who better to control with blackmail than pedophiliacs. Look at what happened to Anthony Wiener after he ranted about shipping off the World Trade Center steel before it could be inspected. The government admitted that they never even looked for evidence of explosives, by the way. Scum that can be blackmailed and/or bribed rises to the top. And that applies in the war profiteer sponsored corporate media too.

And now they're all freaking out around him and he feels his precious control slipping away, and has no real answer to it except petulance and grievance against a media that gave him a free billion dollars to win the primaries with.
Poor, poor, little president four-year-old, Mueller's following the money straight to all of the stuff you were too stupid and inexperienced to get a handle on during the campaign, so you don't even know what to do to cover your own ass, and if you try to fire him you'll go down and take the whole disgusting party with you, so you are getting your first ever taste of real pressure from the Republican establishment who are getting less and less afraid of your sway over the pig-people with each self-inflicted wound.
You had two hundred million dollars handed to you. You could have done and been anything you wanted in the world, and you chose this.
Have fun getting taken apart by it in front of the whole world.

Seth Rich was a 27 year-old Bernie supporter who was angry over the DNC rigging the nomination for Hillary.

Seth Rich leaked over 44,000 DNC emails to Wikileaks to expose what the DNC had done.

Joe Capone, owner of the bar where Seth Rich was last seen alive, was in the Oval Office four days before the murder.

Joe Capone was quoted in the Washington Post as saying he was friends with Seth Rich. He said he spoke to him right before he left, and offered to drive him home, but Seth said he had somewhere else to go first.

Seth Rich was a regular at Joe Capone's bar. Other regulars said he was in there most nights, drinking beer for hours, but no one had ever seen him drunk. As quoted in the Washington Post, witnesses said he was "unusually unsteady on his feet" when he left the bar.

Seth Rich was found soon after with several bullet holes in his back, the apparent victim of a robbery that neglected to take any of his valuables.

For some reason, this alleged robbery investigation needed Seth Rich's laptop to be confiscated. This laptop is still in the custody of the DC police, or was turned over to the FBI. Rich was murdered on July 10, 2016. He had just been hired by the Clinton campaign a few days earlier.

The Seth Rich family spokesperson is DNC operative Brad Bauman, a professional democrat with a master's degree in political management.

The mainstream media is united in a campaign to quickly dismiss any discussion as to whether this might be a politically motivated murder as a crazy conspiracy theory, yet reports as fact that "Russia hacked the election" despite absolutely zero evidence having been produced to date.

The real reason why Washington is freaking out, and why there is a major investigation into the leaks:

"The reason the White House went nuts about the Washington Post story: The person who leaked that story to the Washington Post leaked WAY MORE information than Trump actually talked about, including information necessary to identify the sources. Everyone is spooked."

The mostly likely source of this leak is David Laufman, the Chief of Counterespionage at the FBI, an Obama donor responsible for clearing Hillary Clinton on the "independent" email probe.

A salient fact is that the President cannot break the law by revealing "classified" information, because by legal definition he decides what is classified, and by revealing something declassifies it:

Under federal law, the president can declassify any secrets, even the most highly sensitive and guarded ones. He can do so by whispering the secret into someone’s ear or by formally removing the secret from its classified status. But because he did not do the latter, the secret is still a secret — yet The Washington Post has this material and may now legally reveal it.

How can a newspaper reveal a top secret that the president has not made public? If someone reveals the secret to the newspaper, it can. The person who did so in this case committed a felony, and the president is right to be angered over it. That person is probably a member of the intelligence community bent on frustrating or destabilizing or controlling the Trump presidency. Because that person gave it to the Post and because there is enormous public interest in knowing what Trump told the Russians, the Post is free to publish it.

The point is that this incident is yet more evidence, as if any were needed, that the president is an absolute moron who cannot be trusted. 62.

According to McMaster, Drumpf did not know where the info came from or whether it was classified or not-because he is a moron surrounded by more morons. Even McMaster did not know the extent of the info or how important it was. I seriously doubt Drumpf would give a shit in revealing classified info even if he knew it was. He os smarter than his generals.

He pisses Israel off and Drumpf may wake up dead some morning.

I don't gamble, as I consider it a fit pastime only for idiots.

So he'll just have to continue to rely on his money-for-trolling from Tsar Vlad.

  71. So after Vlad offered to give us a transcript of the meeting in the oval office to "prove that no classified information was discussed" Mrs. Greenspan asked Tillerson if that meant the Russians had bugged the oval office, but failed to inquire whether any other orifices were being buggered by either the Russians or president four-year-old itself...

  75. Trump also reportedly boasted to the Russians about the intelligence he was receiving, telling the two men, "I get great intel. I have people brief me on great intel every day":

"Trump went on to discuss aspects of the threat that the United States learned only through the espionage capabilities of a key partner. He did not reveal the specific intelligence-gathering method, but he described how the Islamic State was pursuing elements of a specific plot and how much harm such an attack could cause under varying circumstances. Most alarmingly, officials said, Trump revealed the city in the Islamic State's territory where the U.S. intelligence partner detected the threat.

"The Washington Post is withholding most plot details, including the name of the city, at the urging of officials who warned that revealing them would jeopardize important intelligence capabilities."

  76. Dana & Pexcuesco - this is a little different take on the Tulsa verdict:

The victim, Terrence Crutcher, was unarmed. His SUV broke down in the middle of an intersection. He had his hands up. He was tased and then shot to death. (An autopsy revealed that Crutcher may have been under the influence of PCP, which is not a death penalty offense, not even in Oklahoma.) The whole episode lasted a little more than 30 seconds. Betty Shelby, a Tulsa police officer, fired the fatal shot and, on Wednesday, she was acquitted of first-degree murder. On the recorded radio transmissions of the event, Crutcher is described as a "big, bad dude," which also is not a death-penalty offense, not even in Oklahoma.

  79. Baltimore schools spend a staggering $16,00 per student - the fourth-highest rate in the nation - and still an investigation by Fox45's Project Baltimore revealed that at six city schools, not one student scored proficient on either the statewide tests for English and math.

At West Baltimore's Frederick Douglass High, one of five high schools and one middle school where not one student scored a four or a five on the state test, only one out of 185 students who took the test last year scored a three, while 165 students scored a one, the lowest possible score.

    The schools are:
    • Booker T. Washington Middle School
    • Frederick Douglass High School
    • Achievement Academy at Harbor City
    • New Era Academy
    • Excel Academy at Francis M. Wood High
    • New Hope Academy

"That's absurd to me," says Janel Nelson, the mother of one Frederick Douglass student. "That's your teacher's report card, ultimately." Janel's son Navon Warren lost his father when he was three months old, followed by two uncles and a childhood friend, all whom were gunned down in the streets of Baltimore by the time he was 18. But Warren is one of the lucky ones; a champion swimmer, he won a scholarship to Bethany College in West Virginia and is preparing to leave Baltimore in the fall, one of only a few dozen students in his class to go to college. In fact, only 50% of Frederick Douglass students ever graduate.

It's difficult to imagine how a school system can spend so much money and still be so ineffective. Warren, to his credit, has a simple answer, yet illuminating answer. “The tests are harder than what we’re learning in class.”
