OPEN THREAD WEDNESDAY.

MORE DISCLAIMERSIt's open thread Wednesday, field hands, and I need your thoughts on some things.

For example, why is Donald trump trying to destroy America with his budget ?

Is dissing Donald now a thing? First Melania then the Pope.  I wonder who is next? Although I don't suppose that it could get any worse than the Holy Father and your own wife.

And why is Donald always praising despots and dictators?

The latest is this clown from the Philippines, who he called to congratulate for violating the civil and human rights of others.

I can see trump during the days of slavery, as he praises the slave owners for reducing black unemployment.

Thoughts?

  3. Like I said before, president four-year-old, or his financial brain-wizards pulled their growth numbers straight out of their asses, in a fraudulent attempt to reverse-engineer their tax cut plan.

The economy doesn't have room for those kind of growth numbers any more, as the workforce isn't replacing itself fast enough to support them, and they don't want the kind of immigration numbers that could make up for it.

A typical self-cancelling Republican lie, told in support of a blatant reverse Robin Hood agenda of robbing everyone else to give to the rich.
    At least they're consistent.

And did you hear about the genius who's suing the Grand Canyon because they discriminated against him by not letting him take rock samples he says will prove it was caused by Noah's flood?

Don't say that, Lilac. Vigilantism is not the answer.

Even if you feel like the local thugs have it coming, how do you guarantee only the thugs get whacked? If it's open season on "bad guys," how long before people start declaring their next door neighbors they have grudges against to be "bad guys"? Or romantic rivals? Or people of a different ethnic group or religion?

It never stops with just the criminals.

  13. When Sadiq Khan said terror was just part of living in a modern city, he was right.

For the (((elites))) the only threat that terrorism represents is in the possible nationalist backlash.

They don't really care about it other than that, some may think the sacrifice of their own people for diversity is virtuous.

This is why they spend more time managing the possible backlash and investigating dissidents that speak up about its cause.

Our elites *can* tolerate Islamic terrorism. It poses no threat to the global system. It's just part of modern life, the growing pains of globalism.

So if you find it confusing why they persecute the people who are calling out the perpetrators while the perpetrators are coddled, this is why.

Terrorism poses no threat, nationalism does. If there is another terror attack, then they get busy suppressing nationalist sentiment.

The end goal here is a deracinated and homogenized human race of obedient consumers. If some get blown up along the way, so be it.

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

  27. "Podesta wasn't getting ass-raped by Russians while running for Potus."

    No, Hillary was.

Brennan didn’t explain why he thought that the Russians didn’t want Hillary Clinton to win. Perhaps he could explain why they didn’t prefer Hillary, who was Secretary of State when President Obama let Russia violate the INF Missile Treaty and colluded with the Russians to kill missile defense in Europe, telling Then Russian president Dimitri Medvedev to tell Putin he would have more “flexibility” after his reelection.

Brennan didn’t explain why the Russians didn’t prefer Hillary, Secretary of State for an administration that did nothing when Russia annexed Crimea and invaded Ukraine. Why wouldn’t the Russians want the Secretary of State who called murderous Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad a reformer and was there when President Obama drew the first of his “red lines,” then did nothing to prevent the slaughter of 500,000 Syrians while giving Russia free rein in that country?

Why would Russia prefer Trump over Hillary after she and husband Bill brokered deals giving Russia and Putin 20 percent of our uranium supply to benefit Clinton Foundation donors, including Canadian billionaire Frank Giustra?

    ReplyDelete
  28. There is another scenario as equally plausible as the one saying Team Trump, and perhaps President Trump himself, colluded with the Russians. It is that John Brennan himself colluded with the Russians to help Hillary win to guarantee his continued tenure as CIA director. It involves the infamous anti-Trump dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, used by Brennan and others as a pretext for a Trump investigation bonanza. As the American Spectator reported:

An article in the Guardian last week provides more confirmation that John Brennan was the American progenitor of political espionage aimed at defeating Donald Trump. One side did collude with foreign powers to tip the election -- Hillary’s.

Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people…

The Guardian story is written in a style designed to flatter its sources (they are cast as high-minded whistleblowers), but the upshot of it is devastating for them, nonetheless, and explains why all the criminal leaks against Trump first originated in the British press. According to the story, Brennan got his anti-Trump tips primarily from British spies but also Estonian spies and others. The story confirms that the seed of the espionage into Trump was planted by Estonia. The BBC’s Paul Wood reported last year that the intelligence agency of an unnamed Baltic State had tipped Brennan off in April 2016 to a conversation purporting to show that the Kremlin was funneling cash into the Trump campaign.

Any other CIA director would have disregarded such a flaky tip, recognizing that Estonia was eager to see Trump lose (its officials had bought into Hillary’s propaganda that Trump was going to pull out of NATO and leave Baltic countries exposed to Putin). But Brennan opportunistically seized on it, as he later that summer seized on the half-baked intelligence of British spy agencies (also full of officials who wanted to see Trump lose).

The Guardian says that British spy head Robert Hannigan “passed material in summer 2016 to the CIA chief, John Brennan.” To ensure that these flaky tips leaked out, Brennan disseminated them on Capitol Hill. In August and September of 2016, he gave briefings to the “Gang of Eight” about them, which then turned up on the front page of the New York Times.

  29. Confirmed: John Brennan Colluded With Foreign Spies to Defeat Trump

Were the media not so completely in the tank for Obama and Hillary, all of this political mischief would make for a compelling 2016 version of All the President’s Men. Instead, the public gets a steady stream of Orwellian propaganda about the sudden propriety of political espionage. The headline writers at Pravda couldn’t improve on this week’s official lie, tweeted out by the Maggie Habermans: “Susan Rice Did Nothing Wrong, Say Both Dem and Republican House Aides.”

Liberals pompously quote the saying — “the bigger the lie, the more it will be believed” — even as their media enshrine it. Historians will look back on 2016 and marvel at the audacity of its big lie: whispers of an imaginary Trump-Russia collusion that wafted up from the fever swamps of a real collusion between John Brennan and foreign powers seeking Trump’s defeat.

    ----

Lifelong Democrat Operative at The Guardian Ben Jacobs Lies About Assault on GOP Candidate Greg Gianforte:

A former minion for the Iowa Democratic Party now operating as a Guardian reporter, Ben Jacobs, assaulted Montana Republican House candidate Greg Gianforte on Wednesday. Jacobs has a history of opposing his political opponents’ freedom of speech, as GotNews reported in October.

Gianforte is competing against Democratic candidate Rob Quist for a House seat that opened up after President Donald J. Trump appointed Ryan Zinke to be secretary of the interior. The special election is Thursday.

A statement about Jacobs’ assault from Greg for Montana campaign spokesperson Shane Scanlon reads:

Tonight, as Greg was giving a separate interview in a private office, The Guardian’s Ben Jacobs entered the office without permission, aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg’s face, and began asking badgering questions. Jacobs was asked to leave. After asking Jacobs to lower the records, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grapb the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs then grabbed Greg’s wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground. It’s unfortunate that this aggressive behavior from a liberal journalist created this scene at our campaign volunteer BBQ.

Unfortunately for Jacobs, eyewitnesses to his unprovoked aggression are already calling him out.

We’re Seth Rich’s parents. Stop politicizing our son’s murder.

    ...
Still, conservative news outlets and commentators continue, day after painful day, to peddle discredited conspiracy theories that Seth was killed after having provided WikiLeaks with emails from the DNC. Those theories, which some reporters have since retracted, are baseless, and they are unspeakably cruel.

We know that Seth’s personal email and his personal computer were both inspected by detectives early in the investigation and that the inspection revealed no evidence of any communications with anyone at WikiLeaks or anyone associated with WikiLeaks. Nor did that inspection reveal any evidence that Seth had leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks or to anyone else. Indeed, those who have suggested that Seth’s role as a data analyst at the DNC gave him access to a wide trove of emails are simply incorrect — Seth’s job was to develop analytical models to encourage voters to turn out to vote. He didn’t have access to DNC emails, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee emails, John Podesta’s emails or Hillary Clinton’s emails. That simply wasn’t his job.

Despite these facts, our family’s nightmare persists. Seth’s death has been turned into a political football. Every day we wake up to new headlines, new lies, new factual errors, new people approaching us to take advantage of us and Seth’s legacy. It just won’t stop. The amount of pain and anguish this has caused us is unbearable. With every conspiratorial flare-up, we are forced to relive Seth’s murder and a small piece of us dies as more of Seth’s memory is torn away from us...

Sadly, pleading with monsters to stop being monsters rarely works. If it did, the GOP would have vanished from the face of the Earth decades ago

"I'm aware of information and intelligence that revealed contacts and interactions between officials and U.S. persons involved in the Trump campaign that I was concerned about because of known Russian efforts on such individuals," Brennan told members of the House Intelligence Committee.

"And it raised questions in my mind whether or not the Russians were able to gain the cooperation of those individuals," he added. "I don't know whether or not such collusion existed. Big win for those who want more Muslim extremists in America, but your joy should be tempered with the realization that these judges are voiding lawful orders of the President based entirely on subjective determinations of what they feel his real motive is, and then ruling that the motive violates the Establishment Clause of the 1st amendment, which reads by the way:

How these judges twist this to prevent the President from ordering increased vetting of non-citizens entering the country is truly astounding.

I've taken to going to Marshall's because they have clothes like for women of my age, and recently I saw some blouses and a dress that were very pretty and perfect either for a younger woman, or one of my age, and to my surprise they were her designs! Very pretty and feminine, yet classic. I couldn't buy it because it wasn't my size and Marshall's only brings in limited quantities. But I'm planning on getting something of hers I saw.

  67. 4th circuit stomps the unconstitutional Muslim ban into the dirt, in a 200 page ruling that basically said "We heard the repugnant un-American bullshit that you sold this stinking turd with every goddamn day of your campaign, president four-year-old, so go fuck yourself."
Next up: a similar dirt-stomp by the 9th circuit.

  70. Can you imagine the shit storm if Obama had allowed either of his daughters to sit in on classified briefings w/o security clearance? I'm afraid Ivanka is there to make money and promote her personal brands. She is not having an uplifting effect on Daddy Dumbest.

Wow yes! I sure can imagine! I'd be the first one screaming! :D

Because Obama's daughters were teenagers! Obamas daughters hadn't even been to college yet, Malia finished High School on the last year of Obama's presidency! Obama's daughters were not businesswomen! and Obama's daughters had not been named as his advisors, as I believe Ivanka has.

    So that's not a fair analogy ;)

"Nobody is fooled about the actual motives behind this, including you."

The stated motives are the security of the citizens of the United States.

Nowhere in the order is the word "Muslim".

The President has the authority to limit entry to the country as he sees fit.

It is nowhere in the judge's scope of authority to guess at the motives of the President.

There is no legal or reasonable reason these judges can interfere with this process.

If judges did this to Obama's orders illegally granting citizenship to people here illegally you'd have had a fit. Likewise, if these were white Christians who were receiving extra scrutiny, you wouldn't give a shit.

This is just one step closer to this whole, wretched, abomination of country getting blown up.

    No justice, no peace.
