I need your thoughts on Donald trump and his flat earth pals pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord.
He says that he is trying to create jobs for America and keep his election promise to his base. But I have a news flash for you, Donald: Those coal mining jobs are never coming back. Ever!
You might tell your peeps in places West Virginia and Kentucky to start thinking about going back to school and learning a skill to stay relevant in the 21st Century.
And do you think it's a good idea for Mr. trump to try and prevent (former FBI director) Comey from testifying next week by claiming executive privilege?
Thank you. Invest in STEM education and get them people some real jobs! Now you may have to move from Podunk but jobs exist.

I think Mr. Trump has a lot of support from the majoriyt race in the closet. Or, I must believe that all the rules and regulation that you and I have to abide by means nothing. Where was the safe guard that insured that the wealthy and rich don't have to live by the same rules as I. T
ReplyDeleteThe thought that this guy pays no taxes should energize the "you and mes" to also not pay taxes. These guys have now crossed the threshold and no longer have to hid their power to do as they please. If the coal mines are not coming back, I don't see the middle class coming back as well. By the time we acquire a new skill- it may be obsolete.
When Donald survive this half-asz attempt to put him in check, he will be the King of the globe. This charade is all planned out. The 1% got thei pit bull in place, now the next years will be a race to the bottom for the average American, while we still falls for the okie dokie. Divide and keep the masses at each other throats.
majority... getting like Donald.
ReplyDeleteI think I provided excellent data to Facebook, demonstrating that the largest number of coal mining jobs were lost during the Reagan Administration. Who I don't remember as an Earth-Firster, or even an Earth-Thirder. All about technology; they just don't need the people anymore. But giant machines don't make good political whipping boys.
ReplyDeleteBecause whooteemoos are gonna whooteemoo:
ReplyDelete"It is with great regret that I have decided to cancel my public lectures scheduled at Seattle’s Town Hall and at the University of California, San Diego this week. I am canceling my appearances for fear of my safety and my family’s safety. Since last Friday, I have received more than fifty hate-filled and threatening emails. Some of these emails have contained specific threats of violence, including murder. Earlier this month, I delivered the commencement address at Hampshire College’s graduation ceremony. My speech at Hampshire was applauded but Fox News did not like it. Last week, the network ran a story on my speech, describing it as an “anti-POTUS tirade.” Fox ran an online story about my speech and created a separate video of excerpts of my speech, which included my warning to graduates about the world they were graduating into. I argued that Donald Trump, the most powerful politician in the world, is “a racist and sexist megalomaniac,” who poses a threat to their future. Shortly after the Fox story and video were published, my work email was inundated with vile and violent statements. I have been repeatedly called “nigger,” “bitch,” “cunt,” “dyke,” “she-male,” and “coon” — a clear reminder that racial violence is closely aligned with gender and sexual violence. I have been threatened with lynching and having the bullet from a .44 Magnum put in my head. I am not a newsworthy person. Fox did not run this story because it was “news,” but to incite and unleash the mob-like mentality of its fringe audience, anticipating that they would respond with a deluge of hate-filled emails — or worse. The threat of violence, whether it is implied or acted on, is intended to intimidate and to silence." - Professor Taylor of Princeton
There's only one thing to explain t-rump's erratic behavior: He doesn't want the job.
ReplyDeleteHe never wanted the job.
Putin, after compromising him, forced him to run. From there, we have a t-rump that's been forced to walk a narrow tightrope, a balancing act of pleasing Putin, and doing just enough in the hope of being impeached, forced out of office without making it seem that an impeachment was his fault.
T-rump had to be seen yucking it up with the Russian Ambassador and Foreign Minster in the oval office for the Russian media; anything less would have angered Putin.
T-rump actually admitted that Putin asked him to meet with these two Russian officials, and he obliged.
T-rump is not our president as much as he's a puppet for Putin. Why spend billions to take over the planet when you can compromise others in leadership positions, and force them to do your bidding.
We're hearing noise that t-rump will soon return the Russian compounds that were taken by Obama because of Russian hacking of the presidential election.

Here in California we are still standing with the Paris accord, and we employ more people in the clean energy sector than fossil fuel extraction does in the rest of the country.
ReplyDeleteThis is a moment that will decide who leads in the next phase of energy production and use.
These changes happen from time to time as technology allows: from wood we switched to coal to power the new steam engines that transformed industry and transportation. From coal we switched to oil and gas to power internal combustion engines and generate electricity cheaper and cleaner than the coal technology from the 1880s.
We have been trying to clean up energy production since the late 1800s when soot coated everything in larger cities to the point of impeding normal life and killing people.
The air in Los Angeles and the Bay Area in the seventies was brown and barely breathable, and now it is much better, even with the increased population.
Whoever gets the market in clean energy technology will be the economic superpower for the next century. Even Exxon/Mobil knows this. So running away from the future we already know is coming is supremely stupid, and to a certain extent, mostly symbolic: none of the major corporations supported withdrawal from the Paris accord, and they aren't going to change their business strategies because of it, so progress will continue apace, only without the leadership from the US government that could help accelerate it.
President four-year-old says he doesn't want to be laughed at by foreign leaders, but he just stepped on his own dick so hard that they are all doing just that.
And after his trip he said that the world wasn't a community but a competition, then sets to ratfucking our chances at competing in what will be the most important economic sector of the next century. Do you think China or Germany is pulling back on clean energy production research and development?
As for the ever changing story about Comey and Russia and the rest of it that keeps dripping from president four-year-old's filthy orifice, I think certain pundits are reading a little too much into his pronouncements.
They are losing sight of what he is and always has been and always will be: a con man, who fancies himself an entertainer. Read that he tells whoever he's talking to whatever he thinks will go over the best, or more often, make him look better.
You can't expect factual consistency from someone like that, even when it's important.
That will not be good for him when Mueller starts cataloging his responses to the different questions he finds germane to his investigation, and many of them appear to be obstruction of justice. "I was just trolling the liberals to look good to the Pig-People" will not fly in that situation, even though it is as close to the truth as you ever get with him.
There is also the question of whether executive privilege can be invoked about subjects he has already publicly run his mouth about, or tweeted about.
These instances of indiscipline that are lined up to bite him in his ass are the very sort of things I was ranting about before the election: For the president of the United States, words matter, and he is not able to control himself enough to perform the duties of the office. So now, here come the consequences.

This is the only logical conclusion to America as we knew it. The only reason this big dumb country became a world technology leader was because Sputnik scared the shit out of the commie haters so they spent money to create scientists and engineers who built things while the next generation enjoyed the fruits of these labors and went back to being dumb and lazy. Are we surprised we elected President Orange Foolius? We should have seen this coming.

Of course California will never waiver in her commitment to the environment. Even if we elected a republican governor we would still chart the course into the future. As will every forward-thinking state in the union from Texas and Oklahoma to Alaska and Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteTrump is so out there by himself on this thing that he reminds me of a little Sweetpea in a Popeye cartoon that somehow avoids being killed on the girders of a New York skyscraper in construction. He's like a little kid who climbed too high on a Sycamore tree and can't get back down without the fire department.
The only executive privilege I see in Trump's near future is being able to pay for his private nurse to clean his asshole on the public dime.

ReplyDeleteDon't y'all just love (((white))) liberals? You see how much they love you?
It's a good thing you didn't vote for that Nazi Trump. ;)
And do you think it's a good idea for Mr. trump to try and prevent (former FBI director) Comey from testifying next week by claiming executive privilege?
ReplyDeleteA legal mind on Rachel Maddow last night sez he's revealed too much about his meetings with Comey already to be able to claim executive priviledge that will pass the laugh test. Yakked about the "assurances" he got from Comey that he was in the clear, yakked about why he fired him. AS IF there was any confidentiality at all.
Drumpf won't want Comey to testify-too much chance of sensitive info being made public- at 2AM by Drumpfuck and Twitter.
ReplyDeleteDrumpfuck is just exactly like the wingnut trolls that show up here. He ejaculates non-sense and acts surprised when no one takes him seriously. The leaker in chief needs his leaky holes plugged pretty pronto.
A word about Dr Myron Rolle: Since he will start out at Harvard, when will the wingnuts start hurling affirmative action loogies at him? Rolle, WJC and Rachel Maddow are all Rhodes Scholars and wingnuts have Drumpf and Louie Gohmert/Cantaloupe Calves King- road apples.
Anon@5:51, BM does not get a pass. Dating a black woman does not automatically give u a black card.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you: he was out of line..
Since white men uphold each other in all their wrong doings, the way that Trump behaves will forever be the new norm for the way politicians behave. America will never be the same. We are now an even bigger "laughing stock." This empire that we call America is now on a downward spiral.
ReplyDeleteAs anyone who has studied history knows....no empire lasts forever. America is no longer the empire it once was...we are imploding from within.
As far as go: Black people need to wake up and start living out this American dream before there's nothing left.Blacks need to abandon drugs, abandon violence, abandon single parenthood, abandon guns and pick up on education, self love, marriage and the family unit. Educated blacks are an endangered species, and the ones that get a little education are abandoning their race (which is more self hatred). Wake up ya'll.

Yeah, because Bill Maher making a joke is destroying the entire planet.
Are conservatives really this fucking dumb that they will use the words of a washed up obscure comedian to distract us from the fact President Chump is single handedly ruining America and the entire fucking planet? So sad.
I bet a real nazi like James Bold is glad he voted for Chump. Just ask him.
ReplyDeleteSo meanwhile back in reality, president four-year-old has removed contraception coverage for women who work for assholes.

What Doug said!😨
ReplyDeleteCourtesy of WaPo:
ReplyDeleteThe Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee asked U.S. spy agencies late last year to reveal the names of U.S. individuals or organizations contained in classified intelligence on Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, engaging in the same practice that President Trump has accused the Obama administration of abusing, current and former officials said.
The chairman of the committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), has since cast the practice of “unmasking” of U.S. individuals and organizations mentioned in classified reports as an abuse of surveillance powers by the outgoing Obama administration.
We have met the unmaskers and it is wingnuts.
Wingnuts (plus one Dem) in Pennsylvania want gun owners declared a protected class like handicapped people. They want gun owners to be allowed to keep guns in their vehicles in company parking lots.
ReplyDeleteThis bill doesn't include LBGT people because being gay is a choice and evidently being a gun owner is a right bestowed by imaginary beings or some such shit.
One question for all you right wing dick skinners out there that hate Obamacare- Of all the nations that went to single payer health plans, how many have gone back to the old ways of depriving citizens of health care? The clock is ticking.
