"Skinny bills" and "Much".

Wait, let me get this straight. Three American senators say that they are going to vote for a bill that they oppose and hope will not pass?

Ok then.

"House Speaker Paul Ryan assured nervous Republican senators on a conference call Thursday night that he would send their “skinny repeal” of Obamacare to a conference instead of passing it into law.
As a vote neared Thursday night or early Friday morning on a proposed “skinny repeal” of Obamacare, three key Republican senators said they would only vote for it if they are assured it won’t actually become law.
The three — Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., John McCain, R-Ariz., and Ron Johnson, R-Wis.— said they needed Ryan’s word that he would not take up their legislation, pass it and send it to the president’s desk. They instead want the bill to be fixed in a House-Senate conference.
Ryan later released an ambiguous statement saying he was “willing” to go to conference if that’s the only way to move forward. “The reality, however, is that repealing and replacing Obamacare still ultimately requires the Senate to produce 51 votes for an actual plan,” Ryan said. He added that the House would expect the Senate to vote first on whatever the conference committee produces.
At around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Graham, Johnson and a few other senators held a conference call with Ryan during which he personally assured them that he would send the bill to a House-Senate conference instead of immediately passing it. It is unclear, however, if Ryan also promised he would not pass the legislation later down the road, if that conference does not produce legislation.
“I just wanted to hear it right from Paul, we all [did],” Johnson told reporters. “Those in the room are now on board with the legislation,” he said.
While McCain was not in the room, he spoke to the Speaker separately, according to Johnson. He did not answer reporters questions about where he stood late Thursday.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is expected to kick off a late-night “vote-a-rama,” which would roll back a handful of key provisions of Obamacare but leave other portions of it intact, ahead of a vote on the skinny repeal bill." [Source]
These people had seven years to come up with a plan and this is what they are giving us? I know that Obama is somewhere laughing his ass off. (Remember when right-wingnuts said that his suit was not the right color? They made such a big deal about it that FOX VIEWS had entire shows around that issue)
But you know wh0 isn't laughing? The folks who could lose their health insurance or watch their insurance premiums skyrocket under  the current GOP plan.
So while we are all focused on the little used car salesman's rant, the lawmakers in Washington are saying and doing  things that are even more dangerous and outrageous.

They vote tonight at midnight, folks.

  3. Here's an idea that should make even those dummies in Congress happy.

Work with the sane republicans and democrats to fix the PPACA. Increase federal subsidies for States with expanded Medicaid coverage, guarantee these payments, preserve the risk corridor promises, institute modest governmental controls on price and premium increases. Allow the federal government to negotiate better prices for pharmaceuticals. There will still be competition, only within a regulated framework. So we all work together to fix inherent problems with Obamacare. After all, it was a compromise from the start and difficult to pass even with a democratic majority. Trump gets all of the credit for the final legislation. We can even call it TrumpCare. Everybody is happy. Everyone wins.

Either that or get busy repealing the Medicare Act of 1965 and work towards a more Nazi-friendly form of government. You guys are so afraid to say that you would just as soon that poor people die early because they can't afford to play the game.

As much as I totally agree with your comment, the "inherent problem" with the ACA for Republicans is that it was passed by a black Democratic president, and given the current makeup of the house, most of their conference have literally been trying to repeal it for their entire legislative careers. They don't know how to do anything else, especially legislate (congress hasn't done jack shit since 2011) and any deviation from the all-repeal-all-the-time strategy equals political suicide by primary challenge.

But yes, having a functional government again would be nice.

  5. So your Republican President can't get a bill passed even though the Republicans control the Senate and the House.

    Mmmmmmmm.

Y'see what you guys need is a politician who is skilful at getting deals done. Somebody experienced in doing deals in the business world who can transfer those skills to the political arena.

But where will you find such a person?

It's a conundrum and no mistake.

  8. In six months they haven't been able to write a bill they all agree on, so the plan was to pass a bill they don't like in order to force themselves to write a bill they can all agree on. It's government by clown show.

"the "inherent problem" with the ACA for Republicans is that it was passed by a black Democratic president"

The only reason you support it is that it was passed by a black Democratic president.

It is a deeply flawed bill passed by twisting the rules, ignoring the facts and lying to the American people. It is failing in its stated mission to provide affordable coverage for everyone, and it will get much worse as more and more insurers pull out of it.

Obamacare is worse than what it replaced.

The Republican solutions aren't much better, but they have the advantage of possibly being able to function. The failure of the GOP to get anything passed is going to bite them hard at the midterms. Weather that is by Democrats or by being primaried we'll wait and see.

  25. Obamacare repeal was thwarted by two women, who can’t be blamed for their behavior because women are stupider than dog shit and they hate Trump by virtue of the fact that they bleed for a week every month, and by John McCain, who did this purely out of spite.

Here’s the thing: McTumor doesn’t give a shit about healthcare. No one in the government does (Rand Derp claims to but this is just part of a failed image management strategy), and whatever this repeal is is irrelevant, it can all be changed later.

McTumor is taking revenge on Trump for cutting funding to ISIS and attempting to mend relations with Russia. McCain’s entire legacy was starting and attempting to start wars for Jews and then flooding our country with the victims of these wars and any other brown people he can find to pick our lettuce.

    What a nasty old bastard.

He’s got weeks to live, and he wants his last big political act to just ruin something for no reason.

He’s also bitter that Trump is simply a better man than he is, and got to be President when he didn’t even come close.

The only reason McTumor is doing this is to hurt Trump, and to hurt America, the thing he hates more than anything else on earth.

    "Silent march. Interesting."

100 years after lynching stopped, blacks are still complaining, as if anyone alive today has either blame or victim status over it. Only about 3,500 blacks were ever lynched, and most deserved it.

Reality is blacks have killed tens of thousands of whites - many times the reverse - over the lifespan of anyone reading this. And most of those killings were straight out crimes, not in a response to a crime.

I don't think black people really understand how tired everyone else is of hearing how hard it is to be black.

  32. From the Rude Pundit this morning:

    3. Except for a few true believers, like the skeevy cat fucker Rand Paul or the sleazy cat strangler Ted Cruz, you know that most Republicans were thinking, "Oh, thank fucking god" last night. If the repeal had passed, the millions kicked off insurance and the skyrocketing premiums and the closure of Planned Parenthood clinics and the cut in the budget to the CDC (yeah, that was in there) and the end of the employer mandate, all the fuckery contained in a simple eight pages, would have been theirs. It's a helluva lot easier to bitch about something than to have to fix it.

3a. Democrats had better be ready to take down Jeff Flake and Dean Heller, both "yes" votes in states that aren't solidly Republican, in 2018.

    4. Mitch McConnell's very real anguish was delicious.

Charley was doomed from the moment his parents started knocking knees. Socialized medicine had zero to do with his condition and just proved his docs were right. He should not have been used by right wingers as a political football. Why? Because today no wingnut will ever remember a thing about Charley Gard.

But a lot to do with how, when, and where he died.

What the British NHS did to these people was awful.

  35. Had Charley made it to America, wingnuts would have been happy as hell to toss him into a gutter and let him die so the koch bros could have more tax breaks.

Drumpfuck would have immediately turned on Charley the second his life ended and make himself the victim of that evil, Britain bastard child dying just when Drumpf endorsed him. Then the bombing of London would have started because of 4 year old's temper tantrums.
