It would be nice if they both had to pay serious, harsh, permanent, and public consequences for what they've done, but even that would only be two slimeballs out of an entire culture of slimeballery that women have to negotiate all the damn time in our society.

The media picks the dictators. I watched a lot of pre election coverage on MSNB and Fox News. They both wanted the election to be between Hillary and Jeb - the frontrunner who nobody planned to vote for. They would have chosen the sides you would expect after they got the match up they wanted. What they have in common is that they are both pro corporate and pro war. If Bernie Sanders had been elected president, he might be getting a lot of negative coverage too. He is an Independent/socialist (really a FDR style Democrat), who was relatively from outside the establishment. Everybody knows about Donna Brazile. But there was all kinds of collusion with the media in Podesta's emails. Did you know about For example, did you know about Chris Hayes practicing a phone interview with Hillary that he would later pass off as live?

They told us the DNC was hacked with data transfer speeds too fast for the internet, from Russia. It was Edward Snowden who got James Clapper to admit that he lied to Congress about the volume of domestic spying. It was Wikileaks that told us the CIA can spy on you through your TV when you think it is off. There are all kinds of examples of coverups and at this point, too many people see through the deep state. They aren't going to say, "Oh yeah. By the way, we killed Kennedy".
ReplyDeleteI think Trump should be mentioned with Weinstein. I would keep in mind that Trump was also a part of show biz culture and a Hillary donor. He wasn't president when he talked about doing one of the things Weinstein actually did, but it still reflects on his character. I wrote about three stars being disgusting people yesterday. I would also give Hillary a break for not talking about Weinstein for five days. Bill's past complicated what she could say.
