Methinks doth protest too much.

Many of you watched some or all of the Brett Kavanaugh hearings today, and I must say, that just as I expected, it was a train wreck for preppy Brett.

He was belligerent, combative,  and acted in a bellicose manner that probably made the trump crowd proud, but just confirmed to the sane folks in America that there is another side to the carefully crafted choir boy image.

He would not let the democratic senators finish their questions, and he acted as if he was putting them on trial and not the other way around.

The victim, on the other hand, came across as credible and sincere. And her testimony just drove home the point that she was an average citizen who was traumatized by a powerful man, and ultimately she courageously stepped forward to tell her story.

A few other things stuck out to me as well.

Lindsey Graham auditioning for the AG job when Sessions gets fired made an absolute fool of himself. Whatever shred of dignity he had left was wiped away today by his sickening grandstanding display of faux outrage to impress Mr. trump.

John Kennedy of Louisiana invoking the religious test ("Do you believe in God?") was the icing in the cake for me. Kavanaugh of course, looked him in the eye and said that he did, and that he swore before God that he did not do what he was being accused of.

And then there was preppy Brett crying and breaking down as he whined that the democrats and the vast left wing Clinton conspiracy was out to destroy his life.

Anyway, give me your thoughts on what went down today.

My guess is that republicans will have the votes to confirm preppy Brett, and that it will be close.

I suspect, though, that if it goes down like I suspect that it will, Alaska and Maine will be sending new senators to Washington very soon.

How ironic, since Kavanaugh was part of an actual anti-Clinton conspiracy. He spent a lot of time in the ‘90s trying to prove they murdered Vince Foster.

If the Clintons did have a secret plan to destroy him, Kavanaugh would have it coming.

There were no guns held to his head when he sexually assaulted those girls, or lied to the senate, or did all of the stuff to Bill Clinton that he's got his rich, white privilege panties in a twist over believing it to be happening to him now.

Only Clinton wasn't guilty and he is, and he knows it, and it's fucking obvious he knows it.

Which is the real answer to why the goddamn Republicans haven't thrown him under the bus and nominated one of the other goddamn wingnuts on the list they gave to Fergus to pick from, who would rule in an identical fashion to Kavanaugh on every fucking issue:

If Kavanaugh goes down, it means that being rich and white isn't a get-out-of-responsibility-for-your-crimes-free card any more, and they are all fucking terrified of that, for all of the obvious reasons.

Lindsey Graham put on a show today that indicates he should go to Hollywood and apply for an acting jog. Or maybe he could become a stand-up comedian. On the other hand Kavanaugh put on a pitiful show. Hard to imagine that such an evil man will be sitting on the Supreme Court.

No, I think the answer to why they haven’t decided to dump Kavanaugh and move on to the next dude on Trump’s list of wingnutty judges is that it’s simply too risky.

If they don’t confirm him, then they’d have to start all over again with confirmation hearings for a new dude sometime next year. And next year, there is a real possibility the Democrats will be in control of the Senate and will refuse to confirm any of the hardcore wingnuts from Trump’s list.

This very well may be Republicans’ one and only shot to drag the court to the right for a generation. They aren’t going to miss it, no matter how ugly these hearings get. Kavanaugh is the horse they backed, and so now he’s the only one who can get them to the finish line.

I don't know Christine Blasey-Ford, but I do know what democrat political operations look like when I see them.

I also know what Democrat "handlers" do when they are working their political instructions. In this case the visible handlers are: Debra Katz and Michael Bromwich.

The reason Ms. Ford's airline travel was an issue, was because Katz and Bromwich constructed that *false narrative* as a delay tactic.

Hence Ms. Ford has no idea who is the financier behind the entire operation; and all of her subsequent expenses. The script was written around her, with an intended purpose. Likely the first narrative was reliant on never actually appearing before congress.

The airport hotel lie-detector narrative, part of the constructed evidence through Katz inc. A familiar testing resource, only two questions, a carefully written script to follow etc. Purchased via legal counsel (Katz Inc.)

As the loose narrative became more evident it was going to end with a congressional appearance, Katz needed more specific support from a Capitol Hill legal insider. Enter Bromwich's contracted assistance.

Loose origination details lead to conflicts. During narrative engineering the most important part of creating falsehood is to avoid specificity. Specific claims can be hazards because if they are refuted, the gig is up. So everything needs to be vague, ambiguous and easier to shape.

The narrative engineers cannot specify the *house* where the event took place, because that would lead to specific ownership trouble. If the owner of the residence refutes the false claim, the lie cannot advance. Hence, the "where" must be generally ambiguous.

The "when" can also be a problem. It would suck to give a specific "WHEN" only to find out the accused wasn't in town, or was elsewhere. Hence any specific "when" must be avoided to retain the false assertion.

As noted, the "who" in this narrative *had to* be a part of the story. But as with this story under scrutiny those four "who's" actually refuted the accusation and aligned with the accused. Thus the problem with specific "who's".

The use of a validating "counselor" or "therapist" is a common part of a false narrative. The reason is HIPPA protection. Regardless of what the accuser claims, the Dr. is bound to silence unless released.

Now we see more of the origination details falling apart:

BREAKING: Palo Alto bldg permit records raise questions about Ford's testimony she completed an “extensive remodel” of home in 2012 & that this was seminal event that led her down path to coming out against Kavanaugh b/c she needed to add an escape door. Permit was issued in 2008

Keep pulling these threads, and there's likely to be many more aspects of the false narrative that will fall apart. [fear of flying, document origination and process issues]

One can easily imagine a person being exploited, who was promised their need to testify would likely be negligible, beginning to freak out as it appeared testimony was going to be required. Imagine the stress.

Which would explain the emails to the committee backing out.... trying to find an exit.... not realizing it was going to go THIS FAR. I would doubt strongly the "hacked work email" is even remotely accurate. Occam's Razor = Panic.

Under questioning, the Ms. Ford doesn't even know the committee volunteered to go to her, because the *handlers* (Katz Inc, then Bromwich) controlled everything. She was originally clueless to the airline travel excuse which needed to be constructed rapidly. The handlers can't change history, the frequency of Ms. Ford's airline travel negated the original excuse; and needed to be shaped. Thus she needed to support the excuse in testimony, yet historic reality refutes it.

This is how modern Democrats roll. Fabrication and the false framework of accusation is their skillset. The lie only needs to hold up long enough to get them to the objective. [e.g. Romey's taxes and Harry Reid]

The end justifies the means; any means. Nothing is out of bounds. This is how the modern political left operate now. Leaks, lies and intentional falsehoods. This is what Lindsey Graham was angry about during the Kavanaugh hearing.

    They don't care.

  49. From Rachel Maddow-

“This whole two week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election,” Judge Kavanaugh claimed during the hearing.

“No,” Maddow fact-checked. “No, actually. And not just as a point of argument, as a point of fact.”

Kavanaugh’s entire defense hinges on a claim that the allegations were manufactured for political purposes. But Blasey Ford’s timeline destroys that.

Blasey Ford wasn’t trying to stop Trump from nominating someone, she was trying to get Trump to pick someone who didn’t try to rape her.

“We now know — attested to by both sides — that Christine Blasey Ford came forward about Brett Kavanaugh when she found out Brett Kavanaugh was on the short list for the call,” she reported. “She made her calls, she started trying to to alert the Congress about this alleged assault by Kavanaugh before he was picked for the Supreme Court.”

“She was trying to get them to not pick him for the Supreme Court,” Maddow noted. “She proved today — with evidence cited by the Republicans’ hired prosecutor — that she emphatically did not wait to find out who the nominee was for the Supreme Court seat.”

“That is a big factual problem for the defense that was raised for Kavanaugh today,” Maddow continued.

Moar Drumpf/Russia collusion. This makes about a million actual verifiable counts of collusion that wingnuts will totally ignore because they stole the election and that is all that matters.

And with kavanaugh, wingnuts shoot for the trifecta of ruining America's Democracy. They have already stunk up the Kremlin Annex and Congress. Now they want to piss on the judicial branch and make it smell like skunks.

    No it isn't.

If Brett Kavanaugh was an avid supporter of the Roe vs Wade decision, Democrats wouldn't care about his past, even if there was actual evidence that he raped someone (which there is not).

Democrats are the party of Bill Clinton and Teddy Kennedy - raping or killing women doesn't matter as long as you are on the right team.

How have you remained so naive for so long?

There is difference between equality of opportunity and equality of outcome. You don't see whites protesting the NBA and asking for racial quotas in professional basketball, because it is obvious blacks have earned their dominant position on the court.

Who in America does not have the same rights under the Constitution? The only people treated unfairly by the law that I can think of are whites, who are excluded from the protections of Affirmative Action statutes.

The Pay Gap is a myth. Men make more because they pursue harder careers, they work more hours per day, more days per year, and more years per lifetime. This is a capitalist country. If businesses could get equal work for less pay from women, they would hire only women.

Desiring a piece of what you had no part in creating is envy.

In America, we have stories like The Little Red Hen about envy and greed and who owns the products of their own work.  You obviously never learned them.  No matter where you were born, you are not an American and you have to go.

It has been my personal experience that women work just as hard or harder than men do. You can dispute this as much as you chose, but it happens to be true.

And some businesses do hire mostly woman because they get equal work for less pay from women.

Being tall is a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ). Tall white men who are expert on the basketball court have the same opportunities that black men have.

Seems that Graham is right in tune with his state. He doesn't believe that women have rights. Therefore, what ever Kavanaugh did to Ms. Ford was OK.

The state, among all fifty, with the very highest rate of women killed by men in 2014 was South Carolina ((pop. 5 million).

In the past decade, South Carolina has ranked in the top five states for for women murdered by men.

The proportion of women killed by men per population in South Carolina is TWICE the national average in the US.

Some 36,000 domestic and intimate partner assaults are reported every year in South Carolina.

South Carolina’s rate of sexual assault has been higher than the national average since 1982 and increased by 12% a year in some years of this decade.

More than half of all victims of sexual assault in South Carolina are not seen by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.

Few prosecutions of sexual assault in South Carolina result in a conviction on that charge; large numbers of cases are never brought, large numbers of the cases brought are dismissed, and most convictions are the result of plea deals in which defendants cop to lesser, non-sexual charges (36% of those charged are only convicted in this way statewide).

Some South Carolinian newspapers have attributed the unusual rates of violence against women in the state to “southern culture” (by which they seem to mean a kind of patriarchy in which the male head of family feels he ‘owns’ the other family members and that outsiders have no business with his private affairs). The leniency of court sentencing, such that violent men who attack women are allowed back out on the street after short terms in jail, is also blamed.

What fraction of the perps are black?

    > The proportion of women killed by men per population in South Carolina is TWICE the national average in the US.

Per the US Census Bureau, North Carolina has about TWICE the national average proportion of black people.

North Carolina doesn't have a male violence problem.  It has a BLACK violence problem.

    > Seems that Graham is right in tune with his state. He doesn't believe that women have rights. Therefore, what ever Kavanaugh did to Ms. Ford was OK.

Kavanaugh wasn't OK to do NOTHING to Ms. Blasey-Ford?  Because the kegger she claims this happened at is a fiction.  Everyone else she said was there has denied it ever took place.  Her own family isn't even backing her story.  The building permit for the escape door she claims she needed after Kavanaugh's name was mooted in Romney's 2012 run was issued in 2008.

She's lying about the incident, like you're lying about the problem.  Is it any wonder that Islam doesn't allow the uncorroborated testimony of one female in court?  Islam also uses the same word for "slave" and "black":  abeed.  Looks like Islam remembers some things that (((Bolsheviks))) have tried to make the West forget.
