“the ultimate threat to the country” is “a 9/11-type event where the terrorists are armed with something much more dangerous than an airline ticket and a box cutter – a nuclear weapon or a biological agent of some kind” that is deployed in the middle of an American city. That’s the one that would involve the deaths of perhaps hundreds of thousands of people, and the one you have to spend a hell of a lot of time guarding against...I think there’s a high probability of such an attempt. Whether or not they can pull it off depends whether or not we keep in place policies that have allowed us to defeat all further attempts, since 9/11, to launch mass-casualty attacks against the United States.”
The first part of that quote from the evil one sounds a lot like wishful thinking to me. Oh come on field, are you trying to say that the former VP of these divided states of A-merry-ca wishes a major terrorist attack could come to our land and kill our fellow citizens just to make the new president look bad? Yep. And not to mention, to validate the despicable abuse of our constitution that took place when he was in power.
Unlike the frat boy Cheney hasn't shut up since he left office. He has been taking on his O ness from day one, and screaming like a baby who lost his favorite toy at the Obama administration for doing away with some of the frat boy's policies as it relates to "the war on terror".
"When we get people who are more concerned about reading the rights to an Al Qaeda terrorist than they are with protecting the United States against people who are absolutely committed to do anything they can to kill Americans, then I worry..”
Dick, you need to worry, because thanks to the actions of your administration there are more of those people "committed" to killing us.
Don't fool yourselves folks, *Cheney[*thanks for the spell check woozie] is praying for an attack. And I suspect that he is not alone. An attack on us now would send the far right into multiple orgasms because it would magnify what in their eyes is one of the few things that the frat boy did right, keep us safe. If I hear that we were never attacked again after 911 thanks to the vigilant frat boy and his minions, I will slap the son of a bitch that says it myself. That is a false argument. We haven't been attacked because the Saudi with the NBA height who happens to be chilling in a cave these days only planned one attack. But let's ask ourselves: whose watch did 911 happen on? If you said the frat boys move to the head of the class. Yes frat boy, you fell asleep at the wheel, so if you were being extra vigilant in trying to protect us it's because you messed up and got some of us killed in the first place.
I know one thing, it doesn't matter who is in office. If Al Qaeda could get a couple of suicide bombers to cooperate, O man or no O man, those bad boys would be going off at a crowded venue near you. So let's continue to hope that we remain safe and protected from the forces of evil. (Not Che-y-ney, we are never safe from him) And let's hope that Hillary and his O ness can do something positive with our foreign policy and create friends instead of enemies around the world.
The Dick is lost in his own psychotic dementia again - just like the nukes in Iran.
ReplyDeleteFirst, an attack of that scale means that the US will respond - not only against the terrorists...
But whatever country even gave them so much as lip service in support.
Much less the cities, towns, and villages of those where the terrorists came from...
Or who hid them.
I meant Iraq...
ReplyDeleteDanger, Will Robinson!
ReplyDeleteCheney is scared of his own shadow, why else the over compensation? Besides, who wants to be known as the VP that drove their country into bankrupcy?
America needs to man up and say fuck the War on Brown People, we need our guys home, NOW.
Field,
ReplyDeleteThey will try again likely in the next four years regardless of who the president is. Bring in the parts in small boats or from Mexico. Anyone living in a major city, military city or the capital should be concerned. We have two bases, an Army post and NORAD in the mountain. But I'm sure they will want a city with a large population [bigger splash]. If they have bought one of those Russian nukes that are missing they are the size of a small brief case.Set it off in downtown New York, new central large parking lot in 10,000 years.
Dick is nuts!
rainy
Cheney is just trying to build his defense, in what I go to bed and pray every night to the gods and goddesses of justice, will be his trial at the Hague.
ReplyDeleteI dream of him standing in the docket, listening to the testimony of thousands of Iraqis who tell the tale of how this man engineered the death and destruction of their country. And, being completely unmoved by this testimony, he listens motionless with that sneer that seems to be permanently imprinted on his face. At the end of it all, he is sentence to spend the rest of his life in prison, preferably Abu Graib....
A girl can dream!
FIELD NEGRO, I am so sick of this MESS!! I heard CHENEY on TELEVISION as well, but my ANGER is with, these HOUSE NEGRO'S!!! I just watched, AMY HOLME'S, and LARRY ELDER on LARRY KING!!! and they were TEARING DOWN, the PRESIDENT, that HEIFER HOLME'S refused to call OBAMA the PRESIDENT!! and LARRY ELDER, need's a BEATING!!! my ANGER is with the BLACK REPUBLICAN'S, what is their problem? why aren't they being confronted! these people are DANGEROUS, I don't mean to be off subject, but, why in this world can any AFRICAN AMERICAN come on TV and tear down the PRESIDENT, when he passed a bill today to help CHILDREN!!!!!! and of course AMY HOLME'S doe's not have a WEBSITE!!! BUT LARRY ELDER doe's, I'm calming down now, I know the PRESIDENT watch's these DISGRACEFUL PEOPLE on TV!!
ReplyDeleteThe former Vice President lorded over American life for eight years, steering social, economic, foreign, and environmental policy towards neoconservative apocalypse, and you still can't spell "Cheney" right?
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Field, good field work. They only planned one attack. whew... I guess the CIA can start a tomato farm now or something. And yes, Obama OK'd torture in some cases, so there!
ReplyDeleteCheney should shut the hell up. I'm with you on that. I think he meant well but still, just stop. If there is another attack the left will be so itching to blame fellow Americans without bothering to observe the evidence. It's their problem now, Dick. They don't need or want you advice.
szpork
It's all part of rewriting history, which they (Cheney et al) must do if they don't want to go down as the worst administration our country's ever had. Besides, anything to distract from the mess they left behind, and from their own crimes. It's all part and parcel of the old fascist policy of striking fear into the populace, then show up as the strong-man savior who will shut down freedom and make you safe.
ReplyDeleteAs old Ben Franklin said, "They who are willing to give up essential liberty to obtain temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
We've given up enough over the last 8 years. Now, it's Cheney's and Bush's turn. I'm with Jody. These guys need an all-expenses paid trip to the Hague - in chains.
Sorry woozie,I can't get the way Chris Matthews says it (Che-y-ney) out of my head:) I will make one correction just for you. I think I will keep the other one, though. It's what I was hearing in my head when I wrote it.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:15PM, I know it's frustrating, but those are called House Negroes, and they have been with us forever. They certainly aren't going away now that there is a black Prez.
rainywalker, stop scaring me.
Seda and Jody:
ReplyDeleteI'm with both of you. Only Seda delete the all expense trip paid out the deal.
Field,
ReplyDeleteI blogged this today too.
Cheney wasted no time stirring the neocon pot. It only took him 2 weeks since leaving office to bash the new president.
Cheney is a certifiable lunatic, just like all the other neocon loons who orbited the Motherfucker from Midland's pinhead.
Cheney is praying for an attack, he is calling in the attacks. He should be "waterboarded"
ReplyDeleteCheney couldn't even keep his friend safe from getting shot in his face while they were hunting, so what would he know about keeping folks safe.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post w/ valid points. Love the pic - lol.
ReplyDeleteThey should leave Guantanamo open for people like Cheney.
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about it, we already had a domestic attack in West Memphis, AR earlier today. We're never safe when the NeoCons are not in power. They're the ones who stir up shit against their own fellow Americans.
cheney's arrogance is telling. it means he realizes there is no way in hell this new administration nor any other will hold him accountable for his crimes. in this regard he resembles pinochet.
ReplyDeleteBrother Field..Thank you for the hook-up sugession with the other veteran/blogger. RainyWalker--Like minds developed by trauma. Loss of power got to be hurting Mr. Cheney. I also saw Larry Elder and Ms.Amy. You think they have friends so they can bounce some of their ideas/thinking. Also that young man Jamalle (?) from the Democrats always has as an adverseries old Republicans males that try to put him in "his place" when he comes on TV. Keep alert in those big cities.
ReplyDeleteThis guy should have been in the psychiatric ward of a maximum security prison a decade ago, along with every other MFer that signed off on the Project for a New American Empire. It would have saved thousands of lives and trillions of dollars.
ReplyDeleteCheney saw 3,000 Americans killed on 9/11 AFTER he wanted to circumvent US law and have Halliburton work in Iran, Iraq, Libya, etc. THEN he goes into the invasion/occupation business/looting spree that results in another 4,000 U.S. dead and 100,000 maimed for life physically and/or psychologically.
He needs to be given a large dose of his own treatment then hung out to dry. Better yet he needs to just keel over and croak, finally.

At the inauguration, Cheney looked weak, spineless and a broken old man in the wheelchair. I think he is trying to change the image that went across america and the world. Wake up Cheney, its too late we know you no longer matter!
ReplyDeleteSo why does no one seem to consider the anthrax attacks worthy of remembrance when the whole "kept us safe" arguement gets raised? It happened post 9/11 and in my opinion is really the thing that put people over the edge in regard to terrorism. And it was never resolved--we don't know if it was a foreign or domestic attack, but either way people died and the Bush Administration was powerless.
ReplyDeleteNo way GWB & Co kept us safe after 9/11.

"I know it's frustrating, but those are called House Negroes, and they have been with us forever. They certainly aren't going away now that there is a black Prez."
ReplyDeleteIf anything they're going to ratchet up their buckdancing and cooning to prove to massa that they hate that uppity Obama even more than rightwing white folks do.
Juan William's dissing the black first lady?
Shameful.
Juan William's dissing the black first lady?
ReplyDeleteYep. Juan is an Uncle Tom.
He dances whatever jig his masters at FIXED Noise tell him to dance and they pay him well for it, too.
Some say as much as $200,000 a year to be the "go to African American contributor" on Rupert's propaganda network.
He's a douchebag.
RJ sez - "They should leave Guantanamo open for people like Cheney."
ReplyDeleteNo.
The place you put Rethuglys like the Dick is in the general population of an American Prison filled with pissed-off brothers spending 8-10 for minor drug possession.
A little socialization and rubbing shoulders (and other parts) with common folks...
Is the best medicine.
It would serve in Cheney's interest to see something in this country happen. Because it would take the spotlight of Cheney to charge him with war crimes and the money he got for Hailburton after he lost so much money by buying Dresser, inc under Cheney's watch. Which was the reason he pushed to go into Iraq. Who got the no bid contacts to enter into Iraq Cheney old company. Hailburton didn't hire him for his business skills; they hire him for his contacts in Washington that why he screwed the dresser inc deal so bad. Cleary Cheney was the mastermind of this whole op's and continues to wield his influence. I bet he calls up Rush Limpbag each morning to give him his talking points.
ReplyDeleteSounds like to me, he got another 9/11 in the works... Please tell me ya'll saw ZeitGeist... Open ya eyes ppl!

What a pleasant thought.
Too bad they closed Lorton.
Field...did you happen to check the "Nova" on PBS Tuesday night about the NSA and the war on terror?
ReplyDeleteThe whole show was how they had Bin Laden, tracked to his exact HQ in Yemen, and how the FBI and the NSA both knew times, dates, people that were in place, and just about everything else there was to know about the 9-11 attacks before they happened, but through departmental bureaucracy, just flat out would not talk to each other, or share information. It was extremely well done, and used official declassified documents, as well as interviews with ex agents from both the NSA and FBI that were tracking the terrorists at the time.
The system in place at the time, actually worked. It was a breakdown in communication between government agencies, that caused the attacks to go without a pre-emptive response.
This was way before Darth Cheney ass-raped the constitution, while using 9-11 as his excuse to do so. So did the whole band of thieves in power learn from their mistakes, and even attempt to fix the interdepartmental communication problems?
Hell no.
These evil bastards couldn't WAIT to use it as a excuse to legalize warrant-less wiretapping, expand their torture policies, and invade the ONE FUCKING COUNTRY that had zero-zip-nada to do with the entire 9-11 attack. Cheney is evil, and I do not use that word lightly. He's a cold, calculating bastard, that cares for nothing but himself, and the 40 pieces of silver he sold his soul for.
glad u do, i here obama bout to give wall street $2 trillion bones
ReplyDeleteMy fear is that they (some black ops CIA special teams) create a terriorist event just to cause President Obama more problems. Yes I am a conspiracy theorist and proud of it. LOL
ReplyDeleteHey Field,
ReplyDeleteGet a load of this house negro.
CIA Chief Accused of Rape
U.S. Spy and Algiers Sex Scandal
Field,
ReplyDeleteI like your argument about not being attacked since 9-11. I'd just like to include another logics/statistics explanation. A & B can both be true and not related, or certainly not causally related. One can argue that we have not been attacked since the WTC and one can also say that certain policies have been put in place(mostly unconstitutional, though one could suggest some of the TSA steps make some sense). But, no matter what the neocons and other rethugs say, there is no way of proving or validating that the reason for no other attack is because of Bush policies. Wasn't about 7-8 years between the first WTC attack and 9-11?
The rethugs certainly want another attack to validate themselves, just like idiot Limbaugh wants the O man to fail. They aren't interested in the success and recovery of the country, just their own agenda.
Don't get me started.
We need to take a page from the old colonials and the Sons of Liberty; when they had a beef with a government officer the likes of a Dick Cheney, they'd go and knock their house down. That son of a bitch thinks he's gonna write a book and settle some scores? What about the scores we have to settle with his old ass? I want my part of the trillion plus dollars they pissed down that rat hole in Iraq back.

ReplyDeleteThis is off topic, but in the unlikely event you had not heard about this, I thought I would pass along the information on this documentary being aired on PBS in February. I woman I know who is a displaced 'Nola native here in Fl sent me the link.
As a southerner I am appalled that this history was never taught in public school, and have forwarded the link (which gives a nice overview of the documentary)many, including my daughters high school history teacher. Then I thought of you and your readers, hope you don't mind.
BEAT LA!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlyxherself, I will check out that link.
ReplyDelete"BEAT LA!!!!!"
Must be a Celtic fan.
Dick Cheney?
ReplyDelete?
Why is that man still talking?
Why is anyone still listening?
One would think our illustrious former VP would slip quietly in the night.
ReplyDeleteI suppose Obama will just ignore him. MY prayer, is that he is drug out of his bunker in handcuffs...
A woman can dream.
Sally..., I am dreaming right along with you.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I think the best outcome would be if a number of Bush's senior staff were sent to jail for various crimes, and that Bush and Cheney were charged but then Obama pardoned them after the full extent of their criminaltiy was splashed around the front pages and TV screens of the world.
ReplyDeleteI don't say this out of any sympathy whatsoever with Bush or Cheney, both of whom I consider human shitstains, but rather out of respect for the offices they held. I don't want to see a president or vice president in jail.
Okay, maybe the VP, but not the president. It would diminish the office in a symbolic way, not to mention create a political martyr and, in doing so, rip the country apart. So, get the truth out there, but leave Bush and Cheney out there.
The minute they accept pardons, they'd be declaring themselves guilty, and I think in their cases that would probably be more broadly effective than a conviction and sentence.
Cheney is praying for an attack, he is calling in the attacks. He should be "waterboarded"
ReplyDeleteCheney should get the attack he deserves, A heart attack--a fatal one.
It's been a long week for me, so pardon my vitriol. This MF should sit down and STFU.
Grinder:
ReplyDeleteI don't understand you logic when you say it would dimish the office of President in a symbolic way. He is no longer President, he is a citizen of the USA. If that's the case then all criminal minded folks should run for President before they decide to commit a crime. That way, they could all go scott free.
However, it would satisfy me if they should eliminate Bush's Presidential pension, make him pay for the use of the Secret Service men, and make him pay back some of the money that he stole from the American Treasury. Do the same thing with Cheney, and go after that money that they transferred into the hands of Haliburton and his other buddies while he was in office.
BTW, whatever happened to that suitcase of American money they found over in Iraq?
Fucking Cheney I don't give a damn about what he says, go fucking away swiftly.
ReplyDeleteOf course he has all the answers now that he's totally free from any consequences.
He (and Bush) were free from consequences when he was in office. (He even got away with shooting a friend in the face. Jerk had cocktails afterward instead of accompanying the friend to the hospital.)
ReplyDeleteThat's why we are in the mess we're in now.
True. So many that didn't care what the President did before now have the gall to access and critique President Obama.
ReplyDeleteI just hope 4 (8) more years from now we're in better shape than when he took office.
I don't understand you logic when you say it would dimish the office of President in a symbolic way. He is no longer President, he is a citizen of the USA.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but it's his actions as president that would land him in hot water. I realize that it's a judgment call and that people of goodwill could disagree, but I think putting them in jail would ultimately be counterproductive for the presidency and the country.
That said, I'd like to see them prosecuted, or face a real threat of prosecution, making a presidential pardon necessary. See, if you accept a pardon that is, in legal terms, the same as pleading guilty. To me, that would accomplish the same thing while avoiding most of the damage.
