WTF? So Carville and Coulter are actually touring together ,now? See, here is the deal: to me, politics is serious business, and I don't expect two people with different points of views about how to move the country forward to be doing speaking tours together. (Of course, when it comes to Carville, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He is, after all, married to a wingnut)
I am sorry, but if we are in a life and death struggle for the future of the republic I don't want to be your damn friend. Sadly, this is what happens with the political elites and talking heads in this country: they are all in it together. It's a big scam, and ordinary A-merry-cans are getting played like Jimmy Hendrix's guitar.
And speaking of life and death struggle: I see that former VP Dick Cheney is in the hospital again due to his ticker acting up. Now there is a man that doesn't play nice with his political enemies. I bet you would never see Cheney going on a speaking tour with any democrat. (Of course, from the way his ticker has been acting up, I am guessing that he won't be going on any tours anytime soon..... I might have to go to church tomorrow.
And finally, I know that Wal-Mart shoppers can get damn near anything in those stores, but babies?!

While I do not think they are the "example" of political dialogue (they are in this for the money, period), I think we desperately need to talk to each other. In fact, our lack of willingness to talk to each other, respectfully, across the political divide is only increasing our problems.
ReplyDeleteTo that end, I am planning on spending this afternoon in a room full of immigrants, some documented, some not, and their supporters/allies who are meeting with the DA and the Mayor's office rep to have dialogue about the contract that that the city has with ICE to turn over the names of everyone arrested, no matter how small the infraction. We are hoping to convince them, through dialogue and testimonies, to end this contract.
This would not happen if not for these very courageous people being willing to talk to "the enemy."

I have come to a similar conclusion that we must be at least 'willing' to listen to each other--instead of immediately labeling each other as 'enemies' with evil intentions.

But do you 'really' feel that you can talk with 'the enemy'?
Some 'enemies' are freely open to rational dialog, while others lie in wait...so many assassins prepared to handcuff hands, and slip a noose around your neck.
Obama showed so much willingness to engage the 'enemy,' he became the laughing stock of liberals and conservatives alike.
The opposition party has lobbed grenades out of hiding, as Bobby Jindal recently did, as he opposed a moratorium of offshore drilling in the Gulf for around 30 rigs, while more than 3000 Gulf rigs continue to pump oil.
The six-month moratorium would have given Mineral Management Service sufficient time to test the safety of rigs, those with newly-awarded drilling leases, in light of BP's Deepwaters Horizon drilling rig catastrophic blowout that took the lives of 11 rig workers.
Jindal talked, using a Federal judge, who should have recused himself, because of his oil-shares holdings.
They plant roadside bombs, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the way General McChrystal did, mines designed to explode all over the national scene, rather than speaking candidly to the president about any misgivings he might have had about the war in Afghanistan, and some of the key players.
They carry out mass assaults on one's position, the way Tea Partiers talk, taking it to the street, casting Obama with a Hitler mustache, or as the Joker with dark sallowed eyes, and a smear-painted mouth.
They use snipers, and sniper fire, to reduce the opposition's numbers, and effectiveness, the way that Republicans in congress talk, using their filibuster power...an unprecedented number in recent months, since Obama took office...to make health-care reform palatable to heath insurers (by watering it down), and financial reform palatable to bankers (by watering it down), and not addressing the real, hidden dangers lurking in the economy, so many explosives waiting to detonate, when the economy's immune system is weakened again, and compromised.
There's talk going on, too much of it. It's just that the talk is at cross-purposes, so that the party, out of power, can become the party in power.
Other than that, talk is a colossal waste of time, and will not be sought after, or tolerated.

I don't recall Obama consulting Europe about his 'stimulus plan,' so for them to 'reject' it, is tantamount to them having a say about other matters internal to the welfare of this country, and should be discussed in the family, among family members.
I can't imagine that Obama would submit a a 'plan' to 'stimulate debt.'
Care to detail this a bit. The term, 'debt stimulus plan,' appears, on the surface, to be contrary to sound economic practices, and commonsense.
If you're referring to a bank-bailout plan, well, I fear, several European countries have already bought into this plan, just as we have.
For the record...I don't smoke, or imbibe spirits. I'll leave the smoking and the imbibing to you.

If they understood true womanhood they would know that Ann Coulter is neither a woman or beautiful. Oh she presents the stereotypical image of what popular culture declares is beautiful. But her mind is that of a chauvinist man. That gives her away more than the Adam’s apple, the big feet, and massive hands. As far as Anonymous fawning over Coulter’s so called beautiful hair and face, it’s hilarious. Her hair is comprised of lacefront wigs. What gives it away is that permanent root and part that never moves. The other wig she wears contains no roots and is shorter.
As far as that beauty is concern, Coulter's face has become more feminine since appearing on Bill Maher in the late 1990’s. Gone is some of the masculine jaw she sported- before numerous plastic surgeries.
In case you have forgotten, here are a few more facts about Coulter:
(A) There is no birth record of a child name Ann Coulter that was born in Canaan, Connecticut. There is no record of an Ann Coulter born in New York City.
(B) There are no records to Coulter’s life prior to age 18.
(C) Coulter lied on driver’s license obtained in Washington D.C. and Connecticut.
(D) Of course you know about the voter fraud.

Meanwhile, since I once lived in the town adjacent to New Canaan, I can tell you there are no hospitals in New Canaan. If she were born in the area, she would have been born in Stamford, Greenwich or Norwalk.

ReplyDeleteMy dear Field, many have reached out to you but you have been "unwilling" to reach back. CF has been reaching out to you for sometime almost daily, but you have been unwilling to listen or to even hold a decent serious dialogue with him.
There have been many others but you, along with others like Kid, TSC, and UTS have only shown contempt and hatred toward them.

Over the past several few months there have been raids on fake documentation laboratories that provide illegal immigrants with ID.
In addition there have been crews of Mexican gangs that have been producing fake payroll checks and draining corporate bank accounts using an elaborate schemes of printed checks, fake id and insider knowledge.
I wonder if you would support the notion of "where there is smoke there if fire" in areas other than indictments against corporations?

It seems that you can articulate YOUR "victories" in your permanent struggles yet there is no particular force that goes behind you to determine if your "battle victory" is in fact a victory in the war that you are fighting.
You got a machine of fellow travelers to do your bidding yet this issue about illegal immigration in Philly is a different issue from the main point that makes Philly a very violent city. You were apart of the struggle that got the present leadership into the city as you sought SOCIAL JUSTICE among the masses. Yet despite having this array of leadership your original cause STILL remains unmanaged.
Is there anyone standing behind you to Regulate the Activists who are attempting to regulate the Government - who is more of their "Friends" than ever before?
Thank God that (for now) we have a choice to live in different states and cities.
As I talk to my friends and family in the Philly area and listen to the majority of them that have MOVED OUT into the suburbs I doubt that they realize that activists like you do their part in making the city a less than ideal place to live - DESPITE the fact that all of you vote for the very same people.

The worse thing that can be done in this recession, at this time, is to curtail spending, and setting up austerity programs, for the purpose of balancing budgets.
Austerity is good for balancing the budget, but very bad for stimulating the economy. What you'll create are fat budgets, but lean economies, and a widening of the recession.
Can you spell 'depression'...D-E-P-R-E-S-S-I-O-N?
In a recession this deep, I shouldn't have to tell you, government is the last line of defense against the recession widening, and then deepening, a dip that depresses the economy.
If that happens, kiss a recovery, in the short-term, good-bye. It may take us more than 50 years to emerge, if then.
Unfortunately, as Europe goes, and the European Union, so goes the United States, Canada, and Mexico (our nearest neighbors, and trading partners), so intertwined are the world's economies.
Any austerity anywhere will send ripples of slowed growth everywhere, and shock waves throughout our combined economies.
And too, a flat inflation rate is not compatible with sustained economic growth, or a high employment rate.
