Today is the first anniversary of MJ going off to that big dance studio in the sky. I was talking to a friend today and she kept mentioning how creepy MJ was. She said that every time she saw him (especially the post plastic surgery, Liz Taylor nose and chin, Michael) she felt "creeped" out. Not me. Maybe it's because I loved some of his music so much, but I never felt "creeped" out by MJ.
Now, to be sure, there are some things in life that do creep me out:
Clowns are creepy. So are images of large rabbits; and we can't forget cats. Those twins from "The Shining" were creepy. Frogs, and people holding large bibles in public creep me out as well. Oh, and I can't forget those anchors on FOX television. Now that's creepy!

Anyway, speaking of creepy: I see Glen Beck is planning a march on Washington D.C. to commemorate Dr. King's historic march and speech back in 1963 .
Now this is A-merry-ca, so Beck and his minions are free to march until their heels bleed. But as king funkadelic lamented over at Kos; I too have to wonder who Beck is bringing with him?
[From the looks of this he already has some folks eager to sign up] You black folks won't like this, but I bet he has a huge turnout. All those white folks are more that eager to show that we have moved past our racial issues and can embrace the dream of the commie we used to hate. And there will be some black folks there, too; the ones who are all too willing to show the rest of us that Beck isn't such a bad guy.
Let me sign off with a post from Rudolph over at Instablogs:
"Wonders shall never end.
The uncompleted work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will now be finished by the very Reverend Glenn Beck.
Yes, you heard me right.
The Fox news opinionated entertainer is organizing a march on Washington on the same day and at the same spot where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I have a dream” speech.
Beck will be talking about getting black Americans home to their conservative roots. He plans to use black boards, white chalks, pies and pictures to show black Americans how the Democratic Party had deceived them for so long.
He plans to talk about justice -but not its cousin – social justice.
Rev. Beck will raise the issue of personal responsibility – just like Minister Louis Farrakhan did during the Million Man March on Washington.
What other proof does anyone need to certify the failure of Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young and Al Sharpton, than to have Glenn Beck leading the new civil right movement.
For those mischievous fellows who do not pay serious attention to Beck, he reminded then that his mission came straight from God.
For those mischievous fellows who do not pay serious attention to Beck, he reminded then that his mission came straight from God.
At first, he wondered what God was doing talking to a guy like himself. And then, he got a call from the Vatican.
And there you have it.
Only in America." [More]
Oh Rudolph, what's with all the sarcasm? FYI, I think that they do have some things in common: Didn't they both go to jail?
MJ was a Grade A freak.
ReplyDeleteCATS ARE NOT CREEPY! Hmpf.
ReplyDeleteL
Beck is creepy but his devotees (Beckerheads?) are creepier.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a year since MJ shuffled off this mortal coil? Time flies when your having fun, I suppose.
MJ was a great entertainer, unsurpassed by no one. I did not see him as a creep, I saw him suffering as a person who was desperately trying to find himself. His search was quite poignant.
ReplyDeleteGlen Beck? A march on Washington commemorating Martin Luther King Jr.? OK, somebody wake me when the spaceship touches down, will ya?
ReplyDeleteMichael Jackson was the consummate entertainer. Not even the likes of Glenn Beck, or Sarah Palin could draw a larger crowd.
ReplyDeleteHell, I can't think of anyone, other than Obama, that may be able to match the draw power of Michael.
"Beck will be talking about getting black Americans home to their conservative roots. He plans to use black boards, white chalks, pies and pictures to show black Americans how the Democratic Party had deceived them for so long."
Conflictive Feedback has been using that same schtick here for what seems like ages.
Yet another white man out to save blacks from themselves, eager to walk in the shoes of Martin Luther King, as King walked in the shoes of Gandhi.
But I'm betting this white man succeeds where Feedback fails, such is the reverence some blacks give to the white mystique.
A zinger from Zing:
Some shoes can never be filled. It's not shoe sizes that are in question, but the man.
All the plastic surgery seemed to scream out MJ's lack of love for self. Not trying to speak for the man, but it seems to me that he didn't like the way he looked and sought to change that at the first opportunity. And then it all went downhill from there.
ReplyDeleteAs for Beck? Maybe his comments on Malia have finally earned him a one-way ticket to backpeddling mayhem. Or perhaps he's just being a messianic attention hound who needs to sit his ass down someplace.
Michael Jackson suffered (and I do mean suffered) from BDD (Body Dysmorphic Dysorder) which is more common than people think. MJ just had the money to take it to the max...by having far too many plastic surgeries...especially concerning his face. People that have this disorder look in the mirror and see what they perceive as ugly...

ReplyDeleteNow come on HummZinger. Don't tell me that you have become a liar?
Please detail when Glenn Beck - the greater threat to the Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chaser, has indicated that GETTING BLACK PEOPLE TO BECOME CONSERVATIVES is the purpose of his event?
You all are making this out to be more than what it is. Beck chose the last Saturday in August for his march. HE FILED THE PIECE OF PAPER FOR THAT AUGUST 28TH DAY before the NAACP got around to filing there.
Back when I was in undergrad it was known that the fraternity to get the the first party on campus made a serious profit. Each week after that the money tapered off. If the form was due on the first Wednesday of the semester there would be Kappas, Alphas, Ques, Sigmas, AKAs, Deltas and Zetas all camped out in front of the office VYING to put their paperwork in first AND hoping that the organization that filed before them had an error or a bounced check.
WHY didn't the NAACP send someone to camp out in front of the US Parks Service IF PEOPLE CAN DO THIS IN FRONT OF THE APPLE STORE to get an iPhone 4?
Still I say, "Thinks Like A Kid", the need is to DISTRIBUTE the King Speech from the "church" of the Lincoln Memorial INTO THE STREETS. More people will hear it.
So Destructive one, you are admitting that this march was done for profit and nothing else?
ReplyDeleteSup Lola? Let me guess, you have a cat. :)
Rippa, the space ship has already touched down, and this is where it took us.
"As for Beck? Maybe his comments on Malia have finally earned him a one-way ticket to backpeddling mayhem. Or perhaps he's just being a messianic attention hound who needs to sit his ass down someplace."
macklyons,I will take the latter.
Did I mention that I love those zingers from zing?
Lets hope the FBI will be there, then he will have something in common with Martin Luther King Jr.
ReplyDeleteI had hope that we would ignore this one. I think Black folks presence, even in protest will be warped into some type of acceptance.

Now what if me and my friends got a parade permit for Ronald Reagan's gravesite? What if the New Black Panthers, All Afrikan Peoples Revolution Party wanted to have a libation ceremony to honor St. Ronnie is a Sissy? What if we "filtered" our beverage through our bodies to fully appreciate his memory, and let him receive the libation in that form? Now what if we ate and....
You got it now CF.You would feel the same way if I took a wizz and a dump on Ronald Wilson Pagan.
Here's a story.A white man wanted to kill a black President. He wore a Nazi like uniforms.Paramilitary groups listen to him.He had black sympatizers, who is he?
Answer:Eugene Terreblanc, the head of the Broderbund. He wanted to kill Nelson Mandela. He was assassinated. After more that two years of Fox basically calling people niggers , then usurping a peace activist event for racism let's pray that cooler heads prevail.
CF: If you HAD any credibility, the black right and you would have stopped this.
Thanks Field for putting up the article!
Its funny how times have changed, the right has asserted that M L King Jr, held their beliefs now that he's dead. When he was alive those same type of people called him a communist.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Hathor:
ReplyDeleteBeck even called him a racist. He called him a Democratic Socialist.Actually he was a Social Democrat. The way you put things makes all the difference in the world. The really sad part is that he wants to do his own "I Have a Dream" speech.Palin and the teabaggers groups are scheduled to show. This is sick.

I have an "App" for that one:
The Civil Rights Pharisees should take their RITUAL of commemorating the words of King on the Steps Of The Lincoln Memorial and INSTEAD open the doors of the church and take the words of PEACE to the streets where the KLAN REENACTMENTS are taking place:

Thinks Like A Kid - it is clear that you are more interested in PROTECTING the Black Establishment tnd its rituals than you are in protecting the RANK AND FILE
[quote]the right has asserted that M L King Jr, held their beliefs now that he's dead.[/quote]
ReplyDeleteMy Friend Hathor:
You seem to be more concerned that "The Right" has coopted the words of Dr King more than you are that the Street Pirates have coopted the MURDEROUS ACTIONS of the Klan against Black people.
KING CALLED HIMSELF A "DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST"!!!
Let me be CLEAR!!!
I DO NOT BELIEVE KING'S VIEWS ARE SACROSANCT and a hardened point to which ALL BLACKS have to strive to.
If you believe this then attack MALCOLM X for he was a fierce critic of Dr King when they were both alive.
I am on record as saying that if Dr King's views on economics matched those which I heard his late WIFE and his son Martin III then if King were alive today I WOULD STAND OPPOSED TO HIS ECONOMIC THEORIES regardless of what he did in the area of Civil Rights.
I do believe that the SCLC would STILL be fighting amongst each other for the corner office though.

Ding ding ding! Right on the money Hathor!
Glenn Beck-
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but anyone who think we're cursed with the Mark of Cain and serve as Satan's representative on earth has sinister motives for this faux march on Washington. Anyone (black) that would join him didn't get enough hugs from the community as a child, therefore they desperately seek neo con approval, or are very ignorant about Mormons and Mormonism. As the perverted overtones in which he spoke of Malia Obama and all the other disrespectful and racist stuff he does on his show wasn't enough to prove HE IS NOT NOR EVER WILL BE THE COMMUNITY'S FRIEND. Nor his minions. Sorry to offend you Patti LaBelle fans, and neo con lovers, but I have to call it as I see it.
MJ-
I admit, there was an air of mystery about him. The more I learned about his life, the more home videos I watched on him and the more I learned about the occult, the less I felt sorry for him. Aside from the vitaligo (coroner confirmed), he was responsible for his own downfall. How many of you out there grew up in abusive homes, had no childhood, grew up dirt poor, etc. and had/have no resources to GET HELP to get past it. He had so many opportunities and resources to fix his problems. Instead, he begged for our pity as he cashed in. Hey, I'm not mad at him. He was highly creative, a talented musician and one of the best dancers ever, but personally, I take the Katt Williams approach to Michael. Yes, again, I know he really had vitaligo. I don't blame Joe, I don't blame the media, I only blame the good Dr. Murry to a point. Michael never learned to love himself. Everything about him said self loather. It's sad, but he's gone by his own doing. I'd rather just send flowers to a nursing or hospital home where the living can enjoy them.
Michael Jackson was a No-Good-Wierdo-Turd-Burglin-Child-Molestin-Drug-Addict-
ReplyDeletewho dated Brooke Shields(High-5!)and I don't care what that No-talent-Uncle-Tom-Eddie-Murphy says, if MJ didn't nail Brooke with a High Hard One, my name's not Frank.
That bein said, "Smooth Criminal" just might be the best 4 minutes and 17 seconds you can experience short of sex with Brooke Shields, which for me would last about 0.7 seconds.
in fact, I once dated a girl named "Annie" so I could say "Annie r u Ok? r u OK Annie"
"BAD" good as "THRILLER" in my book, and if that Wierd Al guy doesn't go to hell for that awful "FAT" parody, theres no God.

CF,
ReplyDeleteConcerned is not a word I would use to express my feelings, seeing Black children grow up from babies to become either the victim or the perpetrators of violence. It is like the loss of a family member and it is not for me to publicly mourn, flagellate myself or speak in hindsight, especially when I can not bring about solutions or influence those who do, to put their feet on the ground.
I have always talked to the children in my neighborhood as if they were my own. Perhaps if more adults would engage them and not fear them, some might listen more to sound advice than to street advice. I am not even speaking of teenagers, but very young children.
CF,
ReplyDeleteOne other thing I want to say. The right always think it is the lack of marriage that causes throwaway children. Many is the case where the mother's been married, then divorce puts the woman in poverty or takes most of her time working to keep a roof over her families head. Many of these Fathers lead middle class lives, while their children have to live in situations that put them at risk. Then there are some men who view their step children as aliens and will not take any responsibility for them.
From the way you always approach the "street pirate" pathology is in some ways similar to saying, "that's not my child, you deal with him."
Hathor This Ain't All About Me!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't just ask me if these are my kids. Ask the far larger group of my fellow Blacks who you AGREE with if they see these kids as their own.
Do you see Hathor -The cost of staying united and chasing after Fox News is that the key watchposts WITHIN the Black community go unmanned.
When will you tell Filled Negro: "Enough! We can't do this any longer. I refuse to follow your diversion"
Destructive Wingnut, we are (most of us) taking an active role in trying to help our children. We get frustrated when wingnuts and their sympathizers like you try to undermine those efforts.

Is what you are doing WORKING per the evidence on the street OR is the present 'self satisfaction' due to the preference for unity over accountable local government and an aligned enforcement of social order?

ReplyDeleteAn I "undermining, efforts that have PROVEN to be of organic benefit to the Black Community OR merely methods that are LEFTIST in nature that. INTEND to help Blacks. Just like the way the All White Juries of the past didn't value scrutiny.
Mr. Field,
ReplyDeleteI don't believe Glenn Beck's March on Washington will be well attended at all. What will be of more interest is the media estimates of that attendance; specifically, what exponential function Michelle Malkin will apply to turn a few thousand into 2.6 million.
Well it's hard to get where we want to go when folks like you keep trying to prevent us from getting there.
ReplyDeleteHow about just good old fashion hard work to help those who aren't as fortunate as we are get a leg up? We could even "teach them how to fish". Sadly, you and your friends keep taking the water from the rivers and streams for your swimming pools. You can't fish where there is no water. ;)
Jobu, you might be right. We will see.
ReplyDeleteZing, "Some shoes can never be filled. It's not shoe sizes that are in question, but the man."

ReplyDeleteFour months ago as I drove through the intersection of Joseph Lowery Blvd and Joseph Boone Blvd on my way to take the pictures of the crime scene where the Black woman was found with her head cut off I resolved to never again allow people like you to attempt to make indictments against me as such.
When I drove I saw crowds of Black people in this community. These are the people that you would NEVER ask anything from. I vowed to travel with two of these Black males to forums, forcing people you to ask all 3 of us questions EQUALLY
Did MJ hate being Black so much that he went out and bought some White kids and made them his own? That's the question that lingers for me. I'd love to see someone who is versed on the subject of self-hatred tackle that one.

ReplyDeleteI am with you on this. You have a heart and conscience that many on this blog don't have. Field should be ashamed of himself. But he isn't because he lacks humility, like Kid, MackLying, and Zing.
The country has TWICE as many Conservatives that Liberals. That is a testament that people are fed up with the twisted do-nothing-castastrophic politics of progressive liberals.

As usual, a bad case of scapegoating has flared up.
What other proof? How about a sky-high illegitimacy rate? A murder rate among blacks that is 7 times the white rate? How about the level of substance abuse? How about levels of domestic violence? What about extreme levels of academic under-achievement?
But no. The real problem for the black community is visible in Glenn Beck. Yeah. That's it. It's all Beck's fault.

ReplyDelete"What other proof? How about a sky-high illegitimacy rate? A murder rate among blacks that is 7 times the white rate? How about the level of substance abuse? How about levels of domestic violence? What about extreme levels of academic under-achievement?"
And you call these lies proof?
What Slappy has done is recite stereotypes that work to denigrate black folks and justify cruel and unjust policies aimed at black folks. Those in power implement these policies using false propaganda to say they (blacks) are just not as moral and more violent than black folks.
These lies very slyly are used to keep us apart and to keep black folks pointing the finger at themselves as well as whites.
The truth is everyone is struggling in all communities in this maladjusted society.
Lets look at these false assertions closer.
Illegitimacy is as prevelant among whites as blacks the difference is that upper middle class whites have more abortions and better acces to reliable birth control.
There have been lots of studies that Slaps has apparently ignored which point out that drug usage is much more prevelant in white communities.
And domestic violence is not a black thing either. Again a decent bit of research will disprove this lie as well.
And underacheivement knows no race. But if you mean by underachievement the underdevelopment that occurs in the black communites nationwide as a an outgrowth of all the unfair barriers placed in their path to success then you may have a point.
And one can't really say that black folk are more violent considering what the US government is doing in the world and esp in light of the killing and dislocation of Afghans and Iraqis and now Pakistanis. And those who run this gov't with the exception of the president are primarily white.
Someone once told me if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all.
Field the right has been trying to coopt MLK for quite some time. CF has it right he would not be a follower of MLK's economic policies which called for a radical redistribution of the wealth. Those who favor our present position would be opposed as indeed many were when MLK was alive.
ReplyDeleteHathor thanks for the heart felt words. I too care.(in answer to CF's question. Hathor I pointed out long time ago that CF doesn't really care about these wayward children they are just folks he uses to do his self hating thing with.
ON MJ- Most of us can agree that the man did indeed do some good in the world and added a little joy to this sometimes funk we call life. He even wrote some inspirational and thought porvoking tunes that made us question some things.
He probably was self hating which didn't make him that different from many of his peers who hid theirs better.
He was a bit weird but who wouldn't be growing up under a microscope and having an abusive old man. And for the record Micheal was found innocent of the molestation charges.
So to be fair Micheal struggled but at least he did struggle and think its safe to say that the world was a better place because Micheal Jackson was in it warts and all. (And BTW who doesn't have a wart or two?)

Once again, all together, the "Black woman" was named Linda Myrick and, as yet, there is no evidence of her death being caused by the dreaded Buccaneers of the Boulevard. Had she been dumped in a white suburb you never mention her. She is nothing more than a standard bullet point in your irrelevant rants and that, CF, is insult piled onto tragedy.

But let's play along for a second)
In your calculus, Melaneous - My FEELINGS as felt down in Atlanta is going to impact the children of Detroit, Chicago and Trenton MORE THAN the "Equal Adult Human Beings" that are more proximate to these children and who are responsible for raising them.
It is clear, Melaneous that you prefer FEELINGS to LOGISTICS. You can't see that you and other "Talented Tenthers" promote the INFERIORITY of the "Detached Lower 35%" that is left in the wake of your perverted social stratification theory.
It matters NOT how EFFECTIVE your scheme is at actually addressing the problem. You focus more upon the UNITY IN FEELINGS.
Shameful indeed.
[quote]What other proof?
ReplyDelete* How about a sky-high illegitimacy rate?
* A murder rate among blacks that is 7 times the white rate?
* How about the level of substance abuse?
* How about levels of domestic violence?
* What about extreme levels of academic under-achievement? [/quote]
Slapz:
Not one of these are evidence of the failure of the individuals that you have listed.
Instead they represent a HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SCHEME that has been popularly accepted that is OUT OF LINE with the actual needs of the community in question. There is nothing "genetically Black" about these points.
When I see these points I do not counter with "Well you White folks have the following problems.....". This is not a solution but instead contentment that others are in the mud with us.
Instead, IF YOU ARE REALLY CONCERNED with a fix for your fellow human beings instead of a racial taunt - you would work to have your fellow Americans be clear about their PERMANENT INTERESTS and how these points are a threat to them.
* Severed relationships between the man and woman who procreated the child means that the child that is produced has a higher chance of being exposed to other threats.
* The murder rate means that young lives are snatched away long before they reach their potential. A squandered investment, if you will
* When you talk about substance abuse you should talk about the MENTAL PAIN that the person is trying to escape from. No person or people can THINK and ORDER their way out of problems while consuming mind altering substances. When you are in CRISIS taking "recreational drugs" will likely cause you to misjudge the severity of the situation. If you are in competition with others who DON'T GET HIGH you'll wash out of the rigors of the competition in the long run.
* Domestic Violence is a sign of poor conflict management dogma and the failure to establish sound community relations in the first place. The violence is the evidence of far deeper issues.
* Academic Underachievement is only a province of a STATE standard. I am far more interested in knowing if my community is SATISFIED THAT THE PRESENT RESULTS will allow the next generation to become the PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGENTS of the next interval? The fact that favorable people now significantly control the distribution of education it is quite disturbing that these results are rendered.

ReplyDeleteA New Black Woman:
I plan to be in attendance on this fateful day to wage a COUNTER-COUNTER-PROTEST against the Civil Rights Pharisees who are more concerned about their RITUAL of honoring King at a grand temple in Washington DC instead of taking this message onto the STREETS where so many "Klan Reenactments" are reported on the evening news - A Black person murdered.
It is my view that a KILLER OF A PERSON on August 28th has spat upon the grave of Dr Martin Luther King Jr than anything that you can justifiably condemn Glenn Beck for.
Again - Beck got the forum by filing paperwork before the Civil Rights Pharisees and the Unions did with the US Parks Service. I thought that this is the type of fair process that King would have wanted?

I DON'T OWE YOU THIS ANSWER!!!
You need to do your own research on Beck and present the facts which can stand up to scrutiny.
I am far more interested in confirming the veracity of people who CLAIM they have my community's permanent interests in mind when in truth they are merely driving home their ideological entrenchments with the INTENTION that they will work. The problem is that they don't take too kindly to INSPECTION. Kinda like oil companies and wall street don't like to be checked by a third party for transparency.
I am so glad that your site is getting so much attention! Well deserved. My hatred for Big Oil is such that I can no longer look at the news, at least for a while. Yes, MJ was creepy, but like you say, so are manic street preachers, or women in fur coats walking their dogs. People have been gathering at MJ's star on the Blvd of Broken Dreams since June 24. Today seemed like bigger crowds than yesterday, but it is a Saturday, so people are off work, and can drive longer distances. Keep on keepin' on! Hollywood Russ
ReplyDeleteAgain - Beck got the forum by filing paperwork before the Civil Rights Pharisees and the Unions did with the US Parks Service. I thought that this is the type of fair process that King would have wanted?"
ReplyDeleteUNBELIEVABLE!
Gregory, I saw that game. Ghana dominated the ball in the first half. The US needs a legit striker. At this level you don't get too many chances. The US with Altidore (still too young) could not capitalize on anything. I like Dempsey, and a couple of their defenders, but that's about it. There are no world class forwards on the team. Even Donovon- who is a decent player, could not be a top flight star in Serie A, La Liga, or the EPL. (and please don't give me his stint at Everton as an example)
USA Soccer has their work cut out for them over the next few years.
And Bob Bradley did a poor job. Can someone explain why he started Destructive's homeboy,Ricardo Clark, (who probably cost them the game) and not Edu?
OK, that's enough soccer from me for one night. :)
I am convinced Beck is clinically a fruitloop and the people who believe him are certifiably bat---- crazy.
ReplyDelete"Slap, What other proof? How about a sky-high illegitimacy rate? A murder rate among blacks that is 7 times the white rate? How about the level of substance abuse? How about levels of domestic violence? What about extreme levels of academic under-achievement?"

CF-"I plan to be in attendance on this fateful day to wage a COUNTER-COUNTER-PROTEST against the Civil Rights Pharisees who are more concerned about their RITUAL of honoring King at a grand temple in Washington DC instead of taking this message onto the STREETS where so many "Klan Reenactments" are reported on the evening news - A Black person murdered."

HummZinger:
I DON'T OWE YOU THIS ANSWER!!!
That's because you don't have an answer.
You didn't owe Beck, either, but that didn't stop you from coming to his aid. Without so much as a request from him, you went into your...save the white man from the niggas...rescue mode.
With amazing alacrity, and the greatest of ease, you hastened to tell us, with unabashed delight, what Beck wasn't up to...as only one with insider knowledge would...but balked, miserably, when it came to setting the record straight...as to Beck's true intentions.
You are a phony, and a fraud.
Admit it...you don't know what Beck is up to, but given his sordid, and muddy track record, we both know his intentions aren't good or beyond reproach.
You carried water for Beck...bucketfuls. You backed his play, a 600 lb Tackle Guard, and attacked us for attacking him.
Once again, you've revealed what side you're on. For sure...you're not on our team...and I doubt if you've ever been.
And don't tell me you're not taking sides. You've never worn a home-team jersey, or brandished our colors.
Our colors are black, brown, tan, sepia, chocolate, and coffee...coffee, at times, spiked with a little cream, and brown sugar.
We see your 'true colors' daily on this blog...it has been pointed out to you on numerous occasions.
I'd rather go to my maker and rot in my grave before I carry water for the likes of Beck.
But not you...you've got a bucket in both hands, and one balanced on your head...so eager are you to rescue the Becks of the world.
Which brings me to one inescapable conclusion.
Your presence here isn't about the black community...that's a sham. Your presence here isn't about the violence that occurs there, from time to time...that's a sham. Your presence here isn't about racism chasing, or that field chums the waters, as you term it...that, too, is a sham.
We both know why you're here. Most of the people who blog here know why you're here.
You're here not for us...you're here for you!
For one, you're a saboteur. You have spent hours here with the decided purpose of diminishing field's supposed influence over us, and countering his liberal message.
For two, you're a plant. You're commissioned, self, or otherwise, to build up a dissatisfaction in the natives, so that they'll rebel in the field, and shift their political loyalties.
As a postscript...I don't take kindly to being called a liar.
"Now come on HummZinger. Don't tell me that you have become a liar?"

However, as I stated, the quote was nutty.
It appears Glenn Beck is just what blacks need -- a whipping boy to replace the tired and flayed hides of Hannity, Limbaugh and O'Reilly.
He's the new new menace. Just ask around.
Maybe the next local menace in Philadelphia is Jeff Cole of Fox 29. Seems the local waters around him are boiling.

I cosign with your assessment of the US team, especially Donovan. If he were a top flight star he would have played with Liverpool, not Everton. ;-).
Closer to the topic, what astounds me about Beck is that the man is obviously mentally unstable and not exactly the smartest "conservative" on the wingnut short bus. His implosion is overdue and when it happens I will be having a big cup of schadenfreude while I watch.

A zinger from Zing.
When the truth surfaces, laughter is often used as a cover for pain and embarrassment.
It happens when people are caught off-guard, as truth exposes them, as when one's pants drop suddenly, in a public place, and others stare, open-mouth, at first, before succumbing to a hilarity that brings tears to the eyes, cramps to the stomach, and a doubling over that can't be broken no matter how hard they try.
Conflictive Feedback, your cover is blown.
I'm holding back other revelatory and embarrassing information, for now, but am in the process of compiling an exposé, and will unleash it upon the world...perhaps not the whole world...just this blog, but who knows my reach.
I can be persuaded to keep quiet. But you must talk nicely.
no_slappz said...'Inasmuch as there are no successful black nations on the planet, the tediously repeated claim that black problems originate with whites is worn out.'
ReplyDeleteI'll take it one step further, and exclaim...the '[worlds] problems originated with whites.' Your over-sized footprint on this planet is as large as the planet, and that's a notion that'll never wear out.
Truth's permanence will exist beyond the age of the universe times the age of the universe.
I believe your claim that there's no...and I emphasize, no...'successful black nations on the planet' will forever be met with an endless pushing back of the goal post, or the drawing back of the football, just as Lucy withdraws the pigskin when Charlie Brown is set to kick it.
Your idea of success may not match my idea of success, or that of others.
For that reason, it's a 'fool's gold chase' to even attempt a reasonable response with someone who has distinguished himself as one lacking in reasonableness.
But I'm your huckleberry.
And since you offer no criterion other than 'successful,' and since you use the word, 'no,' giving yourself no escape clause...therefore, any proof to the contrary, even if it's only one instance, will nullify your claim(s).
I offer you Botswana. Although recently plagued with HIV/AIDS, "Botswana has maintained one of the world's highest economic growth rates since independence in 1966."
Independence you say? Can you say British! What do we have here...an erstwhile British colony?
Learn more here.
Thinking about moving the goal, or snatching the football?
Other emerging black nations have had to contend with overcoming the ravages of colonialism. Colonials, just as they did in the Americas, came not to build but to steal, and to divide.
'Why do blacks set athletic records but never win Nobel Prizes (excluding the meaningless Peace Prize)?'
Blacks 'set athletic records' because they had to run at 'record speeds' to escape becoming the property of whites, or experiencing the burning, flesh-cutting lashes of the whip, or the tightening of the noose around their necks.
You, too, would learn to run at a 'record pace,' if I hunted you like an animal, so that you'd work like an animal, while I use your output to maintain my creature comforts.
Again, you use a word that's all-inclusive, 'never," regarding the Nobel Prize. Any one instance, then, would prove you wrong. You say that the 'Nobel Peace Prize' is 'meaningless,' but I should remind you...peace is never meaningless.
We have three blacks Nobel laureates who distinguished themselves in literature, and won the prize for literature.
What, you won't accept them? Literature is no better than Peace?
There goes the 'goal post' and the snatching of the 'football'!
Let's see how we fare with the next one. How about 'economics.' Is that scientific enough for you, or are we going to see here, too, a pushing back of the 'goal post,' and a snatching of the football.
If you do, your credibility here will forever me suspect.
In '1979 Sir William Arthur Lewis [of] Saint Lucia [became] Economics first black person to win a Nobel Prize other than Peace and first West Indian to win a Nobel Prize.'
According to my calculations, Bill, I mean, Sir William puts the lie to your claim.
'Why do many blacks claim MJ did not molest boys AND argue that paying $20 million to at least one boy is proof?'
Because it's not just our claim. The boy himself later recanted.
'On June 27, 2009, Jordan Chandler, the 1993 accuser even admits he had lied about Michael Jackson molesting him. He says he is sorry and he only lied for his father.'
**More**
ReplyDeleteAnd Uri Geller, one of Michael's closest friends, believed in Michael's innocence.
His assurance came from a hypnosis session.
'Geller stated that although he knew questioning Jackson under hypnosis was unethical, hearing him deny the accusations while in a trance confirmed innocence in his eyes.'
And it, among other proof that I have, which I won't divulge...the proof, or the source...confirms to my satisfaction Michael's innocence.
Are you eying the goal post, and the football?
And the money that Michale reportedly paid to his child molestation victim, well, here's the skinny on that...
'New reports that Michael wanted to pay the first family off are false, court documents from the time state clearly that Michael's insurance carrier "negotiated and paid the settlement over the protests of Mr. Jackson and his personal legal counsel." Michael didn't even agree with the settlement, let alone pay it, and contrary to popular belief the boys description of Michael's genitals did not match up, among other inaccuracies he claimed that Michael was circumcised, while police photographs proved that he was not.'
"Why do so many blacks believe Mumia should be freed even though he murdered Officer Faulkner?"
How many blacks are you referring to...200,000, 500,000, 2 million, 10 million?
Are you claiming to be an eyewitness to the murder of Officer Faulkner?
Unlike you, I can't say if Mumia killed Faulkner, or not, or is guilty or not.
Here's what I do know...the criminal justice system in this 'land of the free, and home of the brave' has been stacked against blacks for years. This sad, and unfortunate, legacy is indisputable.
Crimes that whites have committed, blacks have been charged with. We've seen a spate of such accusations, some later determined false, over the years.
How many blacks died as a result of such accusations?
Do you care about them, as you care about Faulkner?
If your answer is no, well, you know the 'why' to your question. If your answer is 'yes,' and is sincere, then you know the 'why' to your question.
Nevertheless, your question lacks specificity. Maybe some blacks are clamoring for Mumia's release, because they doubt his guilt, and believe in his innocence.
And with so many blacks in recent years having been acquitted, after being found guilty, and serving years in prison, I can understand their skepticism regarding Mumia's guilt.
"In 1999 Arnold Beverly claimed that he and an unnamed assailant, not Mumia Abu-Jamal, shot Daniel Faulkner as part of a contract killing because Faulkner was interfering with graft and payoff to corrupt police.[47] The Beverly affidavit became an item of division for Mumia's defense team as it led to the resignation of two of his attorneys and the firing of two others.
Private investigator George Newman claimed in 2001 that Chobert had recanted his testimony.[48]
Cynthia White was declared to be dead by the state of New Jersey in 1992 although Pamela Jenkins claimed that she saw White alive as late as 1997.[49] Mumia supporters often claim that White was a police informant and that she falsified her testimony against Abu-Jamal."
no_slappz, I'm afraid the world isn't as black and white as you'd like. I'm afraid, too, it's not shaping up for you according to your preconceptions.
Here's what I advise, no_slappz, push the goal post back several yards, and try again.
If you push it back far enough, long enough, perhaps fortune will favor you, and greet you with a smile or, if not careful, you may piss it off, and it flips you the bird, and laughs in your face.
Clearly No Slaps wants to "Slap Box" with me.

There may be some whites or asians who deny Jackson's pedophilic tendencies. But the unofficial sampling indicates a racial imbalance that seems about the same as blacks vs others on the guilt of OJ.
MJ just made $1B in the year of his DEATH - do you think it was just BLACK PEOPLE purchasing Jackson gear and music?
Not quite. His music catalogue -- which includes Beatles songs and the work of others -- brought in $1 billion? Okay. I'm not sure of the exact number. But let's call it $1 billion.
The other side of the ledger is Jackson's accumulated debts, which almost caused him to lose control of his song library when he was behind on his debt payments.
I suppose in the year after his death a lot of venues played his music that resulted in royalties going to whomever or whatever entity controls his song catalogue.
But that has nothing to do with his pedophilia.
What about director Roman Pulowski - the child statutory rapist? Was it just BLACK HOLLYWOOD STARS that demanded that the charges be dropped?
Polanski obviously had sex with a girl who was 14 or 15 at the time. About the age of thousands of black girls who become mothers. Nevertheless, he is/was guilty of statutory rape. Who cares about jabbering nitwits coming to Polanski's defense? Moreover, it did no good. He left the US for 30 years. I'm not sure of his current status.
What about music producer Phil Spector who murdered his wife?
Spector murdered Lana Clark -- not his wife. What about it? He's in jail for the crime -- where he belongs.
Here is the deal Slappy Squirrel - about 3 months ago Cornel West did a conference call with "Killa Mu" on C-SPAN. 90% of the audience were WHITE LIBERALS!!!
Cornel West. That's funny. The gasbag who complains in the opening of Race Matters that NY City cab drivers refuse to stop for him. But he forgets to mention those cab drivers themselves are black.
Meanwhile, what are CSPAN's viewer demographics? I wonder who calls in to CSPAN? How does CSPAN select callers who actually ask a question?

Lots of people are into sports. Lots are serious about improving. When we get to the upper levels of the sports pyramids, who dominates?

Wow. Yeah, well, OJ should have been friends with Geller. He got away with a double homicide, but if had not murdered Nicole and Ron he might have gotten a pass for the rather minor crime for which he's now doing time.
Mumia should become friends with Geller. When possible, friends don't let friends get prosecuted.

zing, you wrote:
ReplyDeleteAre you claiming to be an eyewitness to the murder of Officer Faulkner?
I guess it's news to you, but Mumia, in an interview a few years ago, slipped and made an admission of his guilt. Combining his admission with the findings of the court, I'm convinced he's as guilty as OJ.
Unlike you, I can't say if Mumia killed Faulkner, or not, or is guilty or not.
That's your way of saying you would spring this murderer.
Here's what I do know...the criminal justice system in this 'land of the free, and home of the brave' has been stacked against blacks for years. This sad, and unfortunate, legacy is indisputable.
There's some truth to your claim. But that's an essential part of your rationale for springing guys like Mumia and OJ. Yeah, you say, some other black guy was wrongly incarcerated so a few guilty guys should go free. For balance.
Crimes that whites have committed, blacks have been charged with. We've seen a spate of such accusations, some later determined false, over the years.
Blacks charged? False. Some white criminals have lied to police, claiming perpetrators were black, when, in fact, the purported white victim committed the crimes.
Susan Smith and the murder of her children. That clown in Boston who said his wife was killed by a black carjacker. At least he did Massachusetts a favor by committing a public service suicide.
The white female McCain campaign worker who said a black assailant marked her face after he saw the bumper sticker on her car.
It's tough to falsely claim that crimes actually committed by whites were committed by blacks. The police see through these lies in a second.

If your idea of a "successful black nation" is a country on the verge of mass death while depending on hand-outs from other nations to treat the AIDS epidemic, then your standards are low. Below sea-level.

Yeah, per-capita GDP is $13,000. But most of it comes from diamond mining, the result of a simple stroke of geographic luck. Like having oil. Then there's copper and nickel. But no brain-power. No human intellectual resources. Only a few natural resources.
Other emerging black nations have had to contend with overcoming the ravages of colonialism. Colonials, just as they did in the Americas, came not to build but to steal, and to divide.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The usual complaints and excuses. Check Singapore. It went from economic backwater to having possibly the highest per-capita GDP on the planet, and it took 40 years to go from worst to first.
You, too, would learn to run at a 'record pace,' if I hunted you like an animal, so that you'd work like an animal, while I use your output to maintain my creature comforts.
I see. Then you are claiming some genetic advantage resulted from the fear of being enslaved. The genetic advantage gave blacks superior physical skills.
According to you, the chief skill became running away. But the impact of potential enslavement had no effect on intellectual development. No one dreamed up better weapons to repel invaders. No guns. No cznnon. No explosivwe devices. Just running.
We have three blacks Nobel laureates who distinguished themselves in literature, and won the prize for literature.
Wow. After a century of awarding prizes -- three. Generally, the receivers of the Lit award have done some good work. However, the Lit prize is awarded on a rather fuzzy basis. Therefore, winning that prize is not the same as winning a Nobel for something concrete, like medical science, where the achievement truly stands on its own.
What, you won't accept them? Literature is no better than Peace?
Lit is better than Peace, one of which went to Yassar Arafat, whose goal was to destroy Israel and drive all Jews out of middle east. Thus, awarding the Peace Prize can overload the hypocrisy meter.
Let's see how we fare with the next one. How about 'economics.' Is that scientific enough for you, or are we going to see here, too, a pushing back of the 'goal post,' and a snatching of the football.
The ONE award in a hundred years speaks for itself. Moreover, the subject of his work -- you can check -- is of little consequence.
If you do, your credibility here will forever me suspect.
In '1979 Sir William Arthur Lewis [of] Saint Lucia [became] Economics first black person to win a Nobel Prize other than Peace and first West Indian to win a Nobel Prize.'
Educated in white-man fashion.
Because it's not just our claim. The boy himself later recanted.

Sure. And he returned the $20 million too.

Maria, thanks for the suggestion. I've seen it.
I stand by my claim. Michael was wrongly accused. But, there's no evidence or proof that will satisfy those who believe he's guilty.
But there's my own source, and proof, I alluded to...
"And it, among other proof that I have, which I won't divulge...the proof, or the source...confirms to my satisfaction Michael's innocence."
Field, "Destructive one, I have to give you some props as well. I think you helped zing with the beat-down."
ReplyDeleteHelped? CF floored Slapz. This is absolute proof that CF stands as a proud, confident, strong, upstanding bm who operates on Principle, not bullshit...
It's the old black politics that you and your flock keep following that CF refuses to follow. Can you and your followers not see the truth?
no_slappz...irrepressible, and predictable, said...And Uri Geller, one of Michael's closest friends, believed in Michael's innocence.
ReplyDeleteI see. Uri Geller, whose life has been dedicated to entertaining people by fooling them, is your idea of a credible source.
Meanwhile, on top of being a professional deceiver Geller was also said to be one of Jackson's closest friends.
Wow. Yeah, well, OJ should have been friends with Geller. He got away with a double homicide, but if had not murdered Nicole and Ron he might have gotten a pass for the rather minor crime for which he's now doing time.
Mumia should become friends with Geller. When possible, friends don't let friends get prosecuted."
This is the 'snatch the fooball tactic' I referred to. Destroy the source, or challenge its credibility. Way to go! Predictable, and expected.
Previously on this same blog, I gave you the following statement...
For that reason, it's a 'fool's gold chase' to even attempt a reasonable response with someone who has distinguished himself as one lacking in reasonableness.
'Botswana. Please. A country of 2 million in which almost 25% of the citizens are AIDS infected.

Win, of course, by moving the goal post. Predictable!

Repel invaders? Wouldn't one expect intellectual enlightenment to go hand in hand with 'intellectual development'?
So the motivation behind 'intellectual development' is so that one race can use it to build superior weapons to subjugated others not so developed.
That's rational! That's superior! That's evolution at its best!

zing,
ReplyDeleteOkay. So you're yet another goofball who presents blacks as a race that defines itself by its interactions with whites. Wow. Seems like there's not much else happening if that's how you picture things.
Okay. Try this.
Every year about 5 MILLION Africans die from drinking the dirty contaminated water that is everywhere in Africa.
On the other hand, virtually no one in the US or Europe dies from drinking the water.
But the equipment and process for cleaning water are available globally. Nevertheless, even though there is no technical barrier to preventing the yearly 5 million deaths from drinking the bad water in Africa, very little is done.
When a nation has the oil wealth of Nigeria, it is astounding that so little is done.
Meanwhile, as I mentioned, nearly 25% of the 2 million citizens of Botswana are infected with AIDS.
Inasmuch as the way AIDS is transmitted has been well known for 25 years -- a period longer than the median age of Botswanans -- the population should have responded by avoiding the risky sexual behavior that transmits the disease. But...
no_Slappz, thanks for the information about Nigeria's drinking water. I did not know that. The Bstswanans are in big trouble with those statistics. Again, thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteThis info should shut Zing up permanently.

"Why do blacks set athletic records but never win Nobel Prizes (excluding the meaningless Peace Prize)?"
ReplyDeleteGeez us Cripes No_Slappz!!! Do you EVER know what you're talking about? All it takes is five minutes of research! For the love of GOD! Just because you've never heard of something doesn't mean it doesn't happen or doesn't exist. You are so woefully egocentric and worst of all ethnocentric.

cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to Booby Prizes, the Nobel Peace Prize is it.
Yassar Arafat -- whose life was devoted to killing Jews, working for the destruction of Israel and driving all Jews out of the middle east -- was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for his work.
Obama, while running two wars, was given the Nobel Peace Prize.
Do you get it? The Peace Prize is meaningless. It is some weird sop to people who frequently do far more harm than good.
As for the Nobel Prize for Literature -- well, that one is awarded on a rather fuzzy basis.
Any writer who gets the award is competent. But often it's given to obscure writers, sometimes poets, who have remained obscure even though the Nobel committee found them.
Like the Nigerian writer, Wole Whatever.
Moreover, some writers get the award because the Nobel committee likes their political views. That's the case with the three black recipients.
Oh, that economics award was for something minor. But the bigger issue is the fact that in 115 years of Nobel Awards in a number of fields, blacks have received only 13, including 10 Booby Prizes for Peace.
Here's one for you. Thomas Sowell -- famous economist who is black. Do yourself a favor and read his work.
the last mj did not only creep me out...s/he felt 100& alien to the beautiful black boy i once adored...

I showed you proof to the contrary. The rest of your drivel is a sad attempt to save face. Regardless of how you perceive the meaning or validity of any of the Nobel Prize winners the fact of the matter is THAT YOU WERE WRONG. Do yourself a favor and learn better debate tactics.
cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteAre you so lacking in awareness that you do not know why certain awards are given. Why certain acknowledgements are made?
Like awards for school kids who are lousy students, but nice people. So they get the award for Most School Spirit or something like that. The Booby Prize.
That's the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel committe gives it to a few black guys -- black guys, no black women -- because that's about the only way it will go to a black.
Like I said, the Lit prize is often given to writers unknown to the reading public, writers who have written little and have developed virtually no following.
Meanwhile, the Nobel in Literature is given for a writer's overall output. Not for a single book.
Thus, J.D Salinger never got a Nobel even though Catcher in the Rye is a great book and it is still wildly popular 60 years after its first publication.
No Slapz is just a lying piece of shit who is insecure. Wole Soyinka got the prize in literature and that is not a booby prize by any stretch. He had a following in Nigeria and in Europe before he got the prize. He is a talented writer and an illiterate boob like you could see that IF you took the time to educate yourself.
ReplyDeleteAs to your contention that a peace prize is a booby prize, you're smoking some good crack eh? Social consciousness raising is worthy of a prize because consciousness raising changes society for the better. Desmond Tutu and MLKing certainly were deserving of their prizes and have done a LOT to change the world's attitudes for the better.
You are a retard.
And about Blacks getting Nobel's in science, it will happen in time.
ReplyDeleteIf Charles Drew had not died young, he would certainly have received a prize for his pioneering work in storing blood plasma. But ignorant boobs like you are too caught up in their rigid bullshit dogma to make such acknowledgments due to YOUR own ignorance.
"Thus, J.D Salinger never got a Nobel even though Catcher in the Rye is a great book and it is still wildly popular 60 years after its first publication."
ReplyDeleteSo, are you saying this book is "still wildly popular" because it was written by somebody white slappy?
Slappy,
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious! You do know that NOTHING you said changes the fact that YOU WERE WRONG! LMFAO!!!
Minimizing the validity of the Nobel Prizes awarded to blacks is just a way to curb the cognitive dissonance that you experienced when I PROVED YOU WRONG. What a sad application of the low leveled defense mechanism of RATIONALIZATION.
You are a hack and not even a good one.
M. Rigmaiden, if you really want to see how full of shit Slappy is, just read the last 10 posts in this link:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=23428832&postID=7819670633437604497&isPopup=true
Try not to laugh too hard.
cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteInasmuch as you are thrown over by concepts and you get stuck on the meaning of unimportant numbers, let's try it this wa:
Nobel Prizes have been awarded for 115 years. But there were some start-up issues, so let's say the prizes have been awarded for 110 years.
They were first awarded in five areas: Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Peace.
Thus about 550 awards have been made in those fields. About 40 years ago the category of Economics was added. Therefore, Nobel committees have awarded about 600 prizes. In some cases the prizes have been shared by scientists collaborating on the same project.
Let's say there have been 600 Nobel Prize winners.
Blacks have received 14. But when Yassar Arafat is awarded the same Peace Prize as Martin Luther King, you know there are no standards for awarding that prize.
Meanwhile, the Literature prize is most notable for the writers who never got one. As I said, the Lit committee to often hands it to some obscure writer no one ever heard of. Like Wole Whatever.
Even though you dropped his name, I'll bet you've read none of his work -- like virtually everyone else on the planet.
Anyway, 14 out of 600 is 2.3%. Not much. If we remove the Booby prize from the calculation, then we're looking at 4 out 490, or 0.8%.
By the way, when it comes to assessing white heavyweight boxers, I will say there are none. In boxing there's no Booby Weight category for whites. No equivalent of the Peace Prize to make a few people feel better.
Yeah Ns your stupidity knows no bounds. The author's name is Wole Soyinka. Since you are an illiterate fool that isn't even tied into European literary circles, of course you never heard of him. Meanwhile, he's received countless awards for his literature. Dumbass.
ReplyDeletem. rigmaiden, you wrote:

He's a tedious bore. But you probably do not know he's a tedious bore because you've never read a word he's written.
Meanwhile, he's received countless awards for his literature.
Wrong. Other than the Nobel, he's received no significant literary awards. Just silly made-up awards that are given in Nigeria.
Putting it another way -- nobody buys his books, plays or essays unless required to choke on them for a college course.
I'll bet there's not a single copy of anything he's written at the Hue-Man Bookstore in Harlem.
LMAO!!
ReplyDeleteNo Slappy, you don't get it. Again, whatever you have to say about the validity or importance of the Nobel prizes blacks have received doesn't change the fact that YOU WERE WRONG. You made a blanket statement and it was discredited. The rest of your OPINION about what Nobel Prizes are more important is just a bunch of bull to reaffirm your racist beliefs. Your lame assertion of "yeah well I was wrong but, those prizes didn't mean anything". Is just a way to deal with the COGNITIVE DISSONANCE that comes with BEING WRONG. We all know you are a psuedo-intellectual with a yellow streak down your back.
Logic is not your strong suit. It is evident by the fact that you are boasting whites have more Nobel Prizes without acknowledging the fact that whites have had about a 400 year head start on the academia thing. That whole slavery and racial discrimination stuff kinda got in the way of going to school for the mere luxury of studying physics. Most people both BLACK and WHITE, if they went to school didn't go to school to study physics or economics. They went to school so they could get a job. Even after 400 years of being held back black folks still managed to win Nobel Prizes. That just means we're resilient. Also, you failed to acknowledge that most of the Nobel Prize winners are men. Does this mean women are inferior, too?
Your debating skills are about as banal as your personality. Please recognize that CONJECTURE is not the same as facts and that you will never win an argument if you can't tell the difference. I seriously enjoy making you look like a fool. I'm still laughing at your failure to grasp a concept most of us learned in fifth grade social studies. I'm also laughing at the fact that you continue make an ass of yourself on this blog. Seriously, how logical is it to continuously argue with people who you feel are intellectually inferior? How ridiculous is it to express your racist beliefs about the inferiority of black people and people of color on a black blogger's site. What's the point? How effective is it? Do you honestly think it's going make us alter our self-perception and our sense of our social construct? What a pathetic waste of time.

Your preceding statement is an unconditional admission that blacks were helpless illiterates until whites arrived in Africa.
By claiming that whites had a "400 year head start on the academia thing", you are -- accurately -- admitting there was no intellectual activity underway in Africa until white colonists and slave traders arrived.
Meanwhile, in the years since whites arrived in Africa there have been no intellectual advancements credited to Africans. In other words, nothing much has changed.
Why, in your mind, was the African intellect a blank slate until whites arrived?
That whole slavery and racial discrimination stuff kinda got in the way of going to school for the mere luxury of studying physics.
Luxury of studying physics? Really? That's telling. In your mind studying science is/was a luxury. Obviously a view like that can exist only in the most primitive minds and in the most primitive societies. Hence, you have made yourself and blacks look bad -- again.
Most people both BLACK and WHITE, if they went to school didn't go to school to study physics or economics. They went to school so they could get a job.
Oh. So people who study physcis and economics are unemployable or have trouble finding jobs?
Your lack of awareness should worry you. People who study physics have excellent job opportunities. Some become teachers of physics at the high school and college level. Others work in technical industries, and many become engineers. Some go to Wall Street.
As for studying economics, well, economics is one of the most common college majors. Physics is to Engineering as Economics is to Finance. Economics is a great major leading to plenty of job opportunities.
Even after 400 years of being held back black folks still managed to win Nobel Prizes.
Held back? That's hilarious. Exactly what was it that stopped everyone on the African continent from discovering and learning, from advancing intellectually like whites and asians on other continents?
Really. What prevented blacks in Africa from experiencing the same intellectual advancement that was underway elsewhere in the world?
Also, you failed to acknowledge that most of the Nobel Prize winners are men. Does this mean women are inferior, too?
The record of intellectual achievement speaks for itself. One of the only notable females in physics is Madame Curie. Few women pursue science or math.
There are -- again -- no women mathematicians of any stature.
Meanwhile, you should know that the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by a foundation that is separate from the Nobel foundation that awards all the other prizes.
This separation is tied to the fact that the award of the Peace Prize is based on such whimsical standards that reasonable people want to steer clear of any association.
When an award goes to Yassar Arafat, an avowed killer of Jews, or to Henry Kissinger, who was a big force in the management of the Vietnam War, or Obama, who was chosen to receive the award only 9 days after entering office, you know there's something wrong with the selection process.
I get the feeling you would give it to Louis Farrakhan.

You wrote:

The subject was the gender of blacks who have won the Nobel Peace Prize.
However, if we look at the three who won the Lit prize, there are again, no surprises. When it comes to books and blacks, black women outperform black men.
The sole economics prize was a gift.
And once again, the black male writer who won the Lit prize -- Wole Whatever -- is about as unsung as a Nobel Lit Prize winner can be.
I am certain you have never read a word he wrote.
"I see your reading problems are evident. I said that blacks who won the Nobel PEACE Prize were men. However, I see that one woman slipped in. Not that it matters."
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!! Another, "I'm wrong, but that doesn't matter defense." Dear GAWD if I wasn't laughing right now I'd be crying about the sadness of your lame attempts to save face. I would say someone who can't research and back up what they say has reading problems. Plus the fact that I disproved you again and you even admitting means I read you just fine. FIVE MINUTES -- JUST FIVE MINUTES.
"And once again, the black male writer who won the Lit prize -- Wole Whatever -- is about as unsung as a Nobel Lit Prize winner can be."
So unsung that a group of Scandinavians read his works and found him worthy of an award. And you keep forgetting Toni Morrison who is definitely NOT unsung and definitely NOT a man. Another weak assed argument. Geez Us!
"The subject was the gender of blacks who have won the Nobel Peace Prize."
And a black woman won in 2004. Also your original assertion-- if you can even remember it out of all the bullshit you've written, was black people were inferior because they haven't won any Nobel Prizes other than the Peace Prize. I busted your dumb ass on that one by countering with FACTS. Then I showed you how stupid your argument was by bringing up the fact only 40 women have gotten a Nobel Prize EVER. Following your "logic" (which is laughable) this means women are inferior, too.
"I am certain you have never read a word he wrote."
Nice argument - NOT! I guess you've read all the works written by all the other Literature winners. You keep forgetting Toni Morrison whose work I've read on several occasions. It's evident that you don't read much since you can't seem to support your own arguments. Why don't you quit while you're ahead. All you keep doing is proving that you are full of shit and you don't know what you're talking about. Everyone who reads this exchange will see that you pull stuff out of your ass and hope nobody catches you. It's really sad.
"Your preceding statement is an unconditional admission that blacks were helpless illiterates until whites arrived in Africa..."
ReplyDeleteYou have the reading comprehension skills of a child in kindergarten. Africans were just fine until whites decided to colonize the continent and subjugate the original inhabitants. There wasn't much emphasis on black Africans getting an education because that kind of messes up the whole "keeping people in subjugation" gig in Africa and in the United States. Therefore saying whites had a 400 head start on the system of education that they value (versus the system of education the original inhabitants had) is absolutely correct and does NOT even come close to your warped interpretation of my sentence. Whites set up a system of education in Africa. Excluded black Africans and thus had a 400 year head start. Nice try.
"Meanwhile, in the years since whites arrived in Africa there have been no intellectual advancements credited to Africans. In other words, nothing much has changed.
The record of intellectual achievement speaks for itself. One of the only notable females in physics is Madame Curie. Few women pursue science or math."
There are -- again -- no women mathematicians of any stature.
Once again you moron you assert that because you've never heard of it, it doesn't exist. That is the level of cognition a toddler has and I'm not even exaggerating. Not only are you a racist you're a sexist, too.

Yes studying physics is a luxury because you can dedicate most of your career towards research which doesn't necessarily pay much. Also someone who studies engineering is a lot more employable. Economics is a social science. Social sciences are employable if you get a graduate degree, but pretty much useless at the bachelor level. If I could go back to school and major in physics I would. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of quitting my job as a BIOLOGY and PHYSICAL SCIENCE teacher. You make yourself look bad -- constantly.
Held back? That's hilarious. Exactly what was it that stopped everyone on the African continent from discovering and learning, from advancing intellectually like whites and asians on other continents?

From nobelprize.org:
The Nobel Prize Awarding Institutions
The process of selecting the Nobel Laureates is exclusively handled by the Nobel Prize awarding institutions.
The Royal Swedish Academy (Nobel Prize in Physics, Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Prize in Economic Sciences)
The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet (Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine)
The Swedish Academy (Nobel Prize in Literature)
The Norwegian Nobel Committee elected by the Norwegian Parliament (Nobel Peace Prize)
There you go with your half-truths thinking no one will bother to research what you say. There are four different committees that handle the distribution of the prizes. Just FIVE MINUTES!
I get the feeling you would give it to Louis Farrakhan.
No, unlike you Slappy, I'm not a moron and I'm not a racist. You should really go back to posting as "anonymous".
cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteAs I said, and your response confirmed -- you have never read a word written by Wole Whatever, the unknown Nigerian Nobel Literature prize winner.
But last night, because the subject had come up, I found some of his stuff online. After reading several pages from several of his plays and essays, it was obvious why no one else on the planet would read his work for pleasure.
He is a tedious bore.
As for the Nobel committee that chose Wole Whatever, well, finding obscure poets, playwrights and novelists is what they do.
Sure, some famous literary writers get the award, but the committee is frequently criticized for its willingness to give the prize to writers who lack the usual evidence of literary superiority. The trick used by those obscure writers is showing the right politics.
Regarding my reading, I've covered the range, including most of the works considered the essential texts of the Western Canon.
I went through a period of reading French writers including Balzac and Zola, who, by the way, was one of the world's great writers who was overlooked by the Nobel Lit committee. However, for a number of years I've concentrated on American writers from the 19th and 20th centuries. Mostly 20th century writers.
Lately I've chewing up Raymond Carver, the greatest American short story writer since Hemingway.
However, I took a break from Carver to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson, a Swede. It was an enjoyable read, but Larsson will never get the Nobel Lit prize.
Aside from all that, it seems you were too embarrassed to answer my question about how it happened that no one in Africa learned anything about anything until white men arrived.
You mentioned physics. Do you think anyone is studying physics anywhere in Africa today?
Lastly, you seem to think if one black -- or ten blacks -- wins a Nobel Peace prize for dubious reasons (Obama being chosen 9 days after his inauguration) there's no reason to question black intelligence even though no black has ever won a prize in physics, medicine or chemistry. Meanwhile, only one prize went to a black for economics.
In other words, the categories where developing real intellectual advances are the key to winning the prize. Invention. That's what does it.
Try this -- black contestants on Jeopardy. Or blacks getting PhDs in physics, chemistry or math.
The fact that a few get those degrees is not the point -- no matter how much you want it that way.
So few blacks get PhDs in tough subjects it's obvious something in black culture gets in the way.
cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteYou are possibly the most gullible person I've encountered in a long time.
Your list of great Africans includes:
Umaru Sule - policeman, claims cure to AIDS
In other words, any list that includes crackpots is a worthless list. Meanwhile, most of the entries are for people who have done nothing more than hold ordinary jobs.
The bigger issue is man behind the list -- Philip Emeagwali.
It seems right that I'm the one who has to give you the bad news.
Here it is: Emeagwali is a well known fraud. He has done none of what he claims.
But rather than look into this black fraud, you'd rather buy his baloney and ignore the fact that Africa is a continent of extraordinary resource wealth populated by people who can barely read and write.
No patents are issued to inventors inventing stuff in Africa. No advances in anything come from Africa. That should worry you.
As for the number of asians winning Nobel Prizes -- 39.
Only 8 were Booby Peace Prizes.

There you go with your half-truths thinking no one will bother to research what you say. There are four different committees that handle the distribution of the prizes. Just FIVE MINUTES!
I suppose you believe there is nothing political about an award granted by a group chosen by politicians.
If your own research is not enough to show you the Peace Prize is a Booby Prize given to make certain people feel good, then you will make a great customer for that guy selling the "real" Rolex for $10 on the street.
As I said, and your response confirmed -- you have never read a word written by Wole Whatever, the unknown Nigerian Nobel Literature prize winner.
ReplyDeleteBut last night, because the subject had come up, I found some of his stuff online. After reading several pages from several of his plays and essays, it was obvious why no one else on the planet would read his work for pleasure.
But I have read Toni Morrison and Derek Walcott. Have you read literature from all of the white Lit winners? Have you read Coetzee? Pinter? Grass? Brodsky? Have you even heard of these writers?
You think Wole SOYINKA is boring. So what. Your OPINION doesn't count for jack shit, especially since you hate black people. It's not like you read his writings without bias. I'm trying to figure out why you think because you don't like his writing means he shouldn't have gotten a prize in Lit. I think Melville is the most boring rambling writer in history, yet people still think Moby Dick is a classic.
"I went through a period of reading French writers including Balzac and Zola, who, by the way, was one of the world's great writers who was overlooked by the Nobel Lit committee."
I went through period of reading French writers in HIGH SCHOOL in actual FRENCH when I was in the French honor society. *yawn*
"Aside from all that, it seems you were too embarrassed to answer my question about how it happened that no one in Africa learned anything about anything until white men arrived."
Again, because you haven't heard of it, it doesn't exist. To assert that nobody in Africa knew anything until white people came is about the most arrogant thing I've ever heard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Africa
Speaking of embarrassed to answer a question, what is your purpose of trolling Field's site?
"You mentioned physics. Do you think anyone is studying physics anywhere in Africa today?"
Yes. I'm sorry that you are too obtuse to realize that people do indeed study physics, math, engineering, medicine, etc. in Africa. Since you don't seem to take the time to research anything or learn about other cultures (because you are a racist ass) you'd rather believe that Africans are swinging from vines. To believe otherwise cause even more COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. Speaking of cognitive dissonance, where is the logic in trolling a blog site just to argue with people who you feel are unintelligent?

There you go again. You haven't heard of it so obviously it doesn't happen. There was a black person on Jeopardy last week or so. You just repeat everything you read on Stormfront and believe its factual. Also most people who do go to college (obviously you didn't) DON'T get PhD.s in physics, chemistry and math. The sad thing is that you are so narrow-minded that you only equate intelligence with sciences, when there have been 12 types of intelligence identified.
"The fact that a few get those degrees is not the point -- no matter how much you want it that way.
So few blacks get PhDs in tough subjects it's obvious something in black culture gets in the way."
Few people in general get PhD.s in those subjects PERIOD.
http://www.aacu.org/ocww/volume35_1/data.cfm
Considering the fact that you keep reminding people that blacks make up 12% of the population, it is ridiculous to then assert that "Whites are superior because they get more PhDs." 75% of the population gets more Ph.Ds than 12.8% of the population, really? Weren't you the one who used these same numbers to conclude that their are more poor whites than poor blacks? It stands to reason that there are more whites in college than blacks, too.

If Asians only won 39 awards and you think that Asians are renowned for their intellect, wouldn't it stand to reason that perhaps winning Nobel Prizes is not a good gauge of who's more intelligent, especially since "inferior women" have won more than the worthy Asians? Again, you can't follow your own logic. You walked right into that trap. Speaking of intelligence, how intelligent is it to troll a blog site?

Your statement makes an unintended point.
It was only because you had to read some stories or novels by those French writers that you read them.
Were you assigned Balzac and/or Zola? Doesn't matter. After French class you never cracked another book written by any of them.
That's how it is for Wole Whatever. Like I said, he's a tedious bore.
As you admitted, you've never read any of his work. But that makes you like nearly everyone else in the world. As you can tell from publishing figures, no one buys his books. That's the true test. He's widely ignored. Why? Because his work is boring.
Meanwhile, your list of African inventors was good for another chuckle.
Your leading example was Colonel (rtd) Kofi Jackson, who submitted a patent application that was never approved. His contraption was presented as a turbine. In fact, it is a modified paddle wheel. Based on the description and drawings included in the patent application, it looks as though the design does not work.
Even though you made the wild claim that I did not go to college, in fact, I graduated from engineering school. Anyway, based on what I saw, I gather no patent was issued because the gizmo is a dud.
However, Jackson delivered a statement that is appropriate. Nevertheless, none of the devices or gizmos mentioned below are original inventions. They are, at best, adaptations of existing stuff.
Colonel Kofi Abaka Jackson (Rtd), a renowned Ghanaian inventor and energy research scientist on Monday observed that, scientific knowledge and technology could salvage Ghana from poverty and misery.
He said: "Lack of scientific knowledge and skills has left us firmly in under-development, poverty, diseases and sense of dependency. The way to move out of this predicament is to equip the people with knowledge in science and technology. Any country that does not prioritise science and technology is doomed".
Col. Jackson made the observation at an awards ceremony organized by the management of Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) as part of its 50th anniversary celebration in Accra.
He invented the Jackson Stem Turbines which harnesses energy from fluids; it does not need a dam to operate and a flapping turbine which has the potential to generate clean electricity to power industries and reduce emissions.
Other winners were Mr. Bawa Adulasi, who invented a locally manufactured incubator, Captain Victor Batse (Rtd) who invented a multi-purpose energy cookware and a collapsible mosquito net.
Col. Jackson noted that if Africans employed technology in their endeavours, the sub-region could advance beyond the "primitive agriculture, agro-processing and foreign controlled extractive industries".
Dr. Abdulai Baaba Salifu, Director General of CSIR, expressed concern about the declining value of science and technology and appealed to government to give it the needed attention.
Dr. George Essegbey, Director of Science and Technology Policy Research (STEPRI), said the award winners were considered for their innovativeness, economic and commercial viability, environmental friendliness and feasibility for adoption by end-users.
He said the guidelines for the competition spelt out that innovations should be produced in Ghana, be scientific or technical in nature and noted that CSIR was satisfied with the interest even though more entries were expected.
Ahhh CG you got on me about interacting with trolls and now you've been drawn in lol! You see sometimes it can help purgate your emotions a bit of a release...Anyway if what NS says is true, that he graduated from an engineering school, his commentary doesn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteMany engineers have a 'know it all' attitude yet surprisingly are not usually that creative, innovative or intellectually flexible.
His commentary is a very good example of how people use their own biases to justify their prejudices. Thank God we have civil rights laws now because if he was in a policy making position, we'd all be screwed!
God forbid that!!!
And NS regarding Wole Soyinka, he is quite well known among people who read world literature. Just because YOUR illiterate, lying, trifling, inflexible ass hasn't heard of him doesn't mean his work is without impact.
ReplyDeleteAnd using sales stats to measure the worth of someone's art is the silliest thing I've ever heard! Most of his well known works were written half a century ago and are usually checked out of libraries or are printed up in readers for college Black studies courses. Retard.

Name-dropping means nothing. As we know, cocoa-goddess admits she's never read a word of Wole's. I'm betting you're also among his non-readers.
Just because YOUR illiterate, lying, trifling, inflexible ass hasn't heard of him doesn't mean his work is without impact.
Obviously his work has had ZERO impact on anyone anywhere. For a long time he's been a big opponent of Robert Mugabe. Guess what? Mugabe is still in power.
He wrote a book about the crisis in Nigeria called The Open Sore of a Continent.
Guess what? The sore is still open. Some impact. Anyone who tells you the Pen is Mightier than the Sword is out to get some money from you.
And using sales stats to measure the worth of someone's art is the silliest thing I've ever heard!
Yeah, bookstores thrive on filling the shelves with volumes no one buys. And, since you seem not to know, libraries dump books that no one reads.
Most of his well known works were written half a century ago and are usually checked out of libraries or are printed up in readers for college Black studies courses.
As your own comments show, no one reads his work unless forced.
I read a lot of authors in both French and English. I'm so glad that you decided to read those authors on your own, but that's about as impressive as you saying you decided to read a book about plumbing on your own. Big deal. I was 17 and you were probably a lot older.
ReplyDeleteAs far as saying that the patent was based on another design, as an engineer you should know that this is the case for most patents. Come on, you have to do better than that.
Also your negativity aside, I have to say this: Me posting your error about the English government was mean and uncalled for. I am a hard ass, relentless and unyielding, but I am NOT hateful or cruel. I let myself be dragged into a cesspool of hatefulness and I am so much better than that. So while you may continue to hate me, even though you don't know me, for the soul purpose of being black, I don't have to act in kind. With that said, I am going to something that you will probably never do -- apologize. I apologize for being hateful toward you. Countering hatred and negativity with hatred and negativity only increases more hatred and negativity. It is a lot easier to be lured into ugliness than it is to rise above it and I don't usually take the easy way out. I'm a road less traveled type of person. Si bonne chance avec ton voyage de vie. J'éspere tu as une éveil spirituale, aussi!

You're so right, I broke my own rule about interacting with trolls. The psychology behind trolling is quite interesting. It derives from feelings of frustration and impotence -- as in the inability to do something about what's frustrating you. In Freudian terms it's DISPLACEMENT. Why should we pick on those who are feeling powerless to do something about their issues be they real or imagined?

You said I made a wild accusation about you never going to college and here you are saying I never cracked open another book written by any of them. Projection? Only two years of foreign languages are required in Texas. I took four. Why, because I was interested in French. The curriculum of advanced French included French philosophers and French authors. I CHOSE to take that class because I had an interest in learning more about French. I also took three years of French in college at an advanced level. If I were truly "forced" to read these authors then why pray tell would I pay money in college to read more of them? More to the point why would I keep the books when I could have sold them in the university bookstore? I'll quit making wild accusations when you quit making assumptions based on your prejudices against black people. If you are truly proposing that you are superior and more enlightened, then you should act like it.

Not necessary.

You're right. I don't know you. Hence, I don't hate you. But I do know what you've written. My responses are aimed at your statements -- nothing more.
Me posting your error about the English government was mean and uncalled for.
As I responded, you showed your misunderstanding of European royalty. They are figureheads without power. People who perform ceremonial tasks and nothing more. The tone of your response was, to me, irrelevant.
By believing the precise wording of "consttitutional monarchy" you make it clear you also believe that Cuba and North Korea are something other than the dictatorships they are.
Meanwhile, many muslim nations are ruled by royal families who hold all the power and control all the wealth. Of course plenty of African nations are tribal.
I am a hard ass, relentless and unyielding
In other words, to you, facts and the true picture are less important than your way of seeing things. Based on your self-assessment, a word that describes you is -- hidebound.
As far as saying that the patent was based on another design, as an engineer you should know that this is the case for most patents.
The patent application for the Jackson "turbine" was made in 1993 and it has not been approved. As I said, from looking at the contraption, it looks like something cooked up by a naive high school student who does not understand physics as well as he should.
It's not that the device is merely derivative. I simply doubt it works. Moreover, this is the 21st century, but the so-called inventor is fiddling with a mechanical concept that's hundreds of years old. In other words, he's unaware that he's trying to reinvent the wheel.
Meanwhile, as I've said before, when it comes to geologic good luck, Norway and Nigeria are on common ground.
Both have vast oil reserves enabling both nations to sell most of their production on world markets.
Norway uses much of its oil money to fund its highly advanced society. Nigeria is a mess. Why?
Your response is to blame whites. That's false.
Zimbabwe was a relatively healthy nation until Mugabe drove white farmers off their land and seized it for his cronies. Now Zimbabwe is another African nightmare.
Believe me, the apology was necessary.
ReplyDelete"As I responded, you showed your misunderstanding of European royalty. They are figureheads without power. People who perform ceremonial tasks and nothing more. The tone of your response was, to me, irrelevant."
Slappy.
A CONSTITUTIONAL monarchy is when the monarch is a figure head and the government is actually run by a Parliament. An ABSOLUTE monarchy is when the monarch has the political power.
Cultural Dictionary
constitutional monarchy definition
A form of national government in which the power of the monarch (the king or queen) is restrained by a parliament, by law, or by custom. Several nations, especially in modern times, have passed from absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy, including Belgium, Britain, Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.
"In other words, to you, facts and the true picture are less important than your way of seeing things. Based on your self-assessment, a word that describes you is -- hidebound."
LOL! That is the worst interpretation of what was written I've ever seen. When I say I'm a hard ass, I mean that I don't flinch in the midst of confrontation and I can be biting. Geez. You say you don't hate me, but you can't even stop yourself from putting me down even when I'm apologizing. That's not very big or enlightened of you.
Your response is to blame whites. That's false.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame whites, I blame colonialists. I know you don't think I believe all white people in the 16th century were colonialists.
cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteThe easiest way to sum up your approach is this: you miss the forest for the trees.
Whether there were zero, one, two or three blacks who won legitimate Nobel prizes is not the issue. The number is so small it is effectively zero.
The question is why.
Put you and millions of others prefer to quibble about the Peace Prize, unfair treatment of blacks or pointless debates over the precise number of blacks winning Nobel prizes.
Why has there been no white heavyweight boxer since Rocky Marciano who could actually beat a serious black opponent?
Frankly, I think if blacks had been fighting whites starting in the days of Jack Johnson, it's possible no white fighters would have ever held the heavyweight crown.
What does that reply have to do with the fact that you don't know the difference between an ABSOLUTE MONARCHY and CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY? You completely ignored it in favor of dismissing the Nobel Prizes of blacks.
ReplyDeleteWhether there were zero, one, two or three blacks who won legitimate Nobel prizes is not the issue. The number is so small it is effectively zero.
Asian Nobel Prize winners - 39
Women Nobel Prize winners - 40 (Curie won two)
*Hispanic Nobel Prize winners - 21, 14 if you consider the fact that people from Spain are considered white. Also note that Hispanic is an ethnicity and not a race, therefore there are white Hispanics, Mestizo and black Hispanics.
Why is that?
It seems to me the amount of minority Nobel Prize winners is low all the way around. Not just blacks. But of course since it's only blacks that you dislike and surprisingly women, the Prizes awarded to both women and blacks are meaningless. The black winners of the so-called legitimate prizes aren't important because you believe their work is boring and the winners are obscure. I asked you if you ever read Grass, or Coetzee or Pinter -- you ignored the question. Fascinating. Plus what I REALLY find interesting is that you believe if M.Rigmaiden or I haven't read an author's work it's because no one's heard of him. I can't even begin to tell you how absurd that logic is. I tell you I've read Morrison and Walcott and you gloss over it because you'd rather focus on SOYINKA who I haven't read. You haven't read all white Nobel Lit winners and you haven't heard of all of them, but to you that's not important so you don't address it.
If nobody's heard of Wole SOYINKA, how did a group of Norwegians hear about him? (I'm sure this will be another question you won't answer.)
Another thing I find fascinating about the way you think (don't get excited because I also find the way viruses work fascinating) is that if someone shows you proof to the contrary of something you believe you either ignore it or dismiss it by devaluing it. Your mind works really hard to cope with any incongruency or cognitive dissonance you encounter. This is pretty much how you argue:
Blanket statement given in absolutes:
"There is NOWAY that guy could have a girlfriend EVER!"
Proof to the contrary:
Pictures and emails indicating the guy indeed has had a girlfriend for three months.
Devaluation of the evidence and coming to a conclusion that supports original statement:
"Your proof is laughable. The girl is ugly and they've only been dating for three months, therefore I was right."
Honestly, I find it really interesting because my degree is in Psychology with a concentration in cognition *waits for the predictable reply from you that devalues my degree* . I am always fascinated how people's minds work.
And what's up with you not answering questions? Could you please answer the following:
1) Why do you visit this blog?
2) Why do you continue to argue with me and others when you have the opinion that black people are intellectually lacking?
3) What do you hope to accomplish by visiting this blog?
As Kenya goes, so goes Africa:
ReplyDeleteTwo days ago Iran's Ahmadinejad spoke in Kenya.
African nations must stand up for themselves when confronted by Western countries wanting to exploit their raw materials and sources, the Iranian president said on Wednesday during a visit to Kenya, with plans to visit Nigeria and Mali.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was mobbed by thousands of Muslims chanting "Allah u Akbar" (God is great), as he arrived to give a speech in a field in the sweltering port of Mombasa.
"Western countries have for years oppressed African states, exploited Africa's natural resources," he said.
Iran is a leading importer of Kenyan tea and is helping with several major projects aimed at upgrading the energy sector and infrastructure of east Africa's biggest economy.
Ahmadinejad arrived in Kenya late on Tuesday and signed bilateral agreements with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki on water supply, oil and direct flights between the two countries.
On Wednesday, the Iranian leader flew to Mombasa and was due to leave later for Djibouti, en route to Comoros. In Mombasa, many men struggled with security guards to try to touch him.
"Can you imagine? The President of Iran greeted me!," said one boy, 13-year-old Suleiman, grinning as he pushed his bicycle home after following the Iranian delegation to Kenya's historical Fort Jesus site.
Another teenager fought with security, shouting: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you cannot stop me."
"So humble," whispered one local woman in admiration.
The spread of islam is going to ensure that African nations remain a century behind the world's leading nations. And islam guarantees the further enslavement of women.
cocoa-goddess, you wrote:

As you have done repeatedly, you have once again lost sight of the original statement that sent you scrambling for a definition of monarchy.
I mentioned something about the lunacy of middle east nations that are monarchies in the 21st century. You countered with your claims that England was a monarchy.
You were attempting to make the point that becasue England has a goofy old lady who wears a crown and is known as the Queen that England is as much a monarchy as Saudi Arabia.
You had to back off a little when you found the definition of Constitutional Monarchy. But you are still so hidebound, so hooked on the terms of the definition, that you cannot let yourself accept the FACT that the royals of England and other European countries have no power, excerpt when it comes to providing antics for the tabloids.
The members of the British royal family are human zoo animals. Not leaders. Sure, they go to state dinners and ride in parades. But that's it. On the other hand, anyone reading your comments gets the impression you believe they still have some authority to rule.
cocoa-goddess, you wrote:
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me the amount of minority Nobel Prize winners is low all the way around. Not just blacks.
Your views are shaped by your Americanized view of the world.
Minority Nobel Prize winners? Only because blacks are 12% of the US population do you use the "minority" description.
The population of Africa is about 800 million. Probably 700 million Africans are black. Meanwhile, the population of the US is 310 million.
The global population of asians is probably over 2.5 Billion. China alone accounts for 1.5 billion. But in the US, asians are just 5% of the population.
Meanwhile, the Nobel Prize committees look globally for winners. The committees do not consider the racial balance of the US when evaluating possible winners from Africa or Asia.
Moreover, in the sub-Sahara nations of Africa, close to 100% of the population is black. Thus, blacks account for the vast majority, if not total population. I suppose South Africa, with its 10% white population, is the oddball.
Nevertheless, despite the odds you believe "minorities" face, Doris Lessing and Nadine Gordimer, white writers from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe/South Africa won the Nobel Literature prize in recent years.
But of course since it's only blacks that you dislike and surprisingly women, the Prizes awarded to both women and blacks are meaningless.
To repeat, I said the Peace Prize is the Booby Prize as well as the prize most often received by blacks. Of all Nobel Prizes it is the one awarded for the flimsiest reasons.
Next to that is the Nobel Literature prize. The Lit committee has a history of giving the award to obscure writers whose work interests no one except a few soft-touch judges on the committee.
When people like James Joyce and Emile Zola are overlooked, you know there's a problem. Maybe you should look at the list and count the number of names you recognize. Most of them you will not know.
The black winners of the so-called legitimate prizes aren't important because you believe their work is boring and the winners are obscure.
Most of the Lit winners are boring. Race is not the key factor. I had to go back to 1987, to Brodsky, to find an author whose work appeals to me.
I asked you if you ever read Grass, or Coetzee or Pinter -- you ignored the question. Fascinating.
Grass -- yes. Pinter -- yes. Coetzee -- no. By the way, though Coetzee is African, he is white.
Plus what I REALLY find interesting is that you believe if M.Rigmaiden or I haven't read an author's work it's because no one's heard of him.
In the US you'll have a lot more luck finding people who can name 10 presidents than you will finding people who can name 10 Nobel Lit award winners. Even if you're standing in Barnes & Noble.
I can't even begin to tell you how absurd that logic is.
If a writer's work does not sell, he's anonymous.
I tell you I've read Morrison and Walcott and you gloss over it because you'd rather focus on SOYINKA who I haven't read.
Based on your comments, you believe a Nobel Lit winner is known to the world. I was making the point that you are mistaken.
You haven't read all white Nobel Lit winners and you haven't heard of all of them, but to you that's not important so you don't address it.
I've read some work by quite a few. But inasmuch as I am not in a college literature class, I do not bother to finish books that are slow and tedious, no matter how many awards the writer has received.
Nobel wiiners I like best are Hemingway, Steinbeck, Lewis, Marquez and Bellow.
If nobody's heard of Wole SOYINKA, how did a group of Norwegians hear about him? (I'm sure this will be another question you won't answer.)
Check the list of winners. Most are obscure. The committee looks for them. Why? I do not know. But the committee is regularly criticized for its selection practices.
"You had to back off a little when you found the definition of Constitutional Monarchy. But you are still so hidebound, so hooked on the terms of the definition, that you cannot let yourself accept the FACT that the royals of England and other European countries have no power, excerpt when it comes to providing antics for the tabloids."
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about the definition of Constitutional Monarchy do you fail to understand? THE MONARCH HAS NO POLITICAL POWER IN A CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY, THE PARLIAMENT DOES!. I swear your inability to believe Websters and England herself is a real testimony to how firm you hold on to your original premises. I didn't back off at all I only apologized for being mean and posting the fact that you didn't know the difference for everyone to see. Since you refuse to even acknowledge the description of a CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY, what do you believe is the type of government held by England what do you call it?
"Nevertheless, despite the odds you believe "minorities" face, Doris Lessing and Nadine Gordimer, white writers from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe/South Africa won the Nobel Literature prize in recent years."
And yet women have only won a whopping 41 Nobel Prizes.
"The global population of asians is probably over 2.5 Billion. China alone accounts for 1.5 billion. But in the US, asians are just 5% of the population."
And yet, they've only won a whopping 39 prizes. Geez, you're making my point for me. Since you object to the term minorities -- Women and people of color haven't won many Nobel Prizes PERIOD.
The mind of a racist is really interesting. Here I was worried about what I should do for my thesis, but not anymore. Thanks!
You STILL haven't answered why you come here and why you continue to argue with black people who you deem inferior. I am starting to believe you don't know the answer.
The members of the British royal family are human zoo animals. Not leaders. Sure, they go to state dinners and ride in parades. But that's it. On the other hand, anyone reading your comments gets the impression you believe they still have some authority to rule.
ReplyDeleteOnly someone with a bias toward black people, women and poor reading comprehension skills would think my comments suggest the monarch in England has power. I've written at least ten times that IN A CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY THE MONARCH HAS NO POLITICAL POWER, THE PARLIAMENT DOES.

No Slappz - Read a fucking book. Both England and Bahrain are CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHIES with Prime Ministers as the true head of the government. What's obvious to me is that you have to the most ignorant person I've ever encountered. Maybe you should travel more instead of being an ignorant xenophobe.

cocoa goddess,
Yeah, Hawaii is actually a kingdom run by monarch in a grass skirt who allows those people in Washington to pretend they run the place.
England? Sure. The Queen is the real power. And those Princes, yeah, always off with the Royal Navy on madcap adventures.
I remember that little flare up in the Falkland Islands, when the Queen got a bee in her royal bonnet and sent the Navy down there to shoot the crap out of those Argentines. Jolly good time it was, launching planes and firing missiles. The Queen on deck having afternoon tea with the sailors. Jolly good fun. Jolly good.
Anyway, the amusing part is how you show no signs of embarrassment over how little you know about terms you throw around. Constitutional monarchy. You really believe the Royal Family does more than entertain the Brits and the world with foolish antics.
The original conversation cont.

Yeah, thanks for ignoring what I wrote earlier about both places being CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHS with Prime Ministers as head of state.

Where in the hell did I ever write that? It really helps to ignore what people write in a debate when they make you look like an idiot. Then throwing up strawmen just makes you look even more incompetent. The only way you can win a debate it seems, is if you throw up a strawman and attack it yourself. Attacking a phony premise that you created yourself (a strawman) is a sorry way to debate. Everyone knows that the monarch in a constitutional monarch is just a figure head.
Your entire first reply reflects how terribly you debate. You Slappy don't know much. What you do know you over inflate and what you don't know you try to bullshit your way through because you don't think people will call you on your ignorance. Too bad that little tactic won't work on me. Nice try jackass.
The fact that you think you know more about Bahrain and Aramco than someone who actually has experience being at both places shows that not only are you ignorant, you are narrow-minded and arrogant to boot. This is a sad combination of traits because a narrow mind doesn't allow for much learning and an over-inflated ego gets busted like a balloon.

Slappy, after reading your comment it dawned on me that YOU don't know the meaning of constitutional monarchy versus absolute monarchy. Here, let me help you out:
Cultural Dictionary
constitutional monarchy definition
A form of national government in which the power of the monarch (the king or queen) is restrained by a parliament, by law, or by custom. Several nations, especially in modern times, have passed from absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy, including Belgium, Britain, Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.

Then you wrote more stuff that you made up to argue with yourself.

cocoa-goddess,
The British Parliament has limited the monarchy to riding in ceremonial carriages and presiding over some national events.
In fact, that's how it is in all the constitutional monarchies you cited. The Royals chief purpose is to amuse everyone else.
That's because that's what the monarch does in a constitutional monarchy. You just agreed with me without even realizing it.
How much driving did you do in Bahrain?
Not much because I was SIXTEEN. However, when we went shopping, my mom's friend drove.
Did you bring a Bible to Bahrain? Did you read it to any muslim females and ask them if they wanted to convert to Christianity?
The funniest thing about this statement is that Carol, my mom's best friend is a really holy roller. I mean a speaking in tongues, laying hands on people type of Christian. She and a group of ladies would have bible study every Wednesday. Unfortunately I couldn't get out of attending when I was there.
Also the question did I ever ask Muslim women to convert is a really dumb question. Why would I ask them to convert? I don't believe in converting people.
Meanwhile, maybe you don't know the assets of Aramco were once the property of others outside of Saudi Arabia. Do you know about the nationalization -- the seizing -- of western oil facilities by Saudi Arabia?
ReplyDeleteThey love the money, but when it comes to running the oil business, they are totally inept.
Yeah, they allowed California and Texas to explore and drill oil for them. Saudi has had full control of Aramco since the 80's.
Anyway, inasmuch as you were there only a short time, it's obvious you hated the place. Totally understandable.
Do you usually pull conclusions out of you ass that have no factual basis? I got an internship to Aramco in college. I was the only Psych major out of the group by the way. When I graduated, I signed up with a temp agency that ironically sent me back out to Aramco and not only that, in the same department. I loved working there! I left after another 2 years (they kept extending my job there) because the job finally reached an end and I was sent to Exxon. Now THERE was a place I hated. Those people sucked. When a teaching position became open I jumped at the chance.
cocoa-goddess,
ReplyDeleteThe discussion about monarchies took off from a connection I made between theocracies and monarchies. You countered my claim by stating the England was a monarchy but not a theocracy.
Again, another example of you failing to see the forest for the trees.
Then you tried to get yourself out of your argumentative cul-de-sac by backpedaling on the definition of a monarchy. In a flash you were copying definitions of Constitutional Monarchies and contrasting that with Absolute Monarchies.
Then you claimed equivalence between Bahrain and England because both are described as Constitutional Monarchies.
But, in fact, Bahrain is a theocracy. The King of Bahrain runs everything. He's the boss. Whereas, in England, the Queen runs nothing.
In Bahrain, the King APPOINTS the cabinet and he APPOINTS the local governors. The King also APPOINTS the Prime Minister. Get it?
The legal system is based in Islamic Shari'a law. Meanwhile, the monarcy is hereditary, which ensures that future kings will continue to appoint compliant people to all positions that matter.
It is only because muslims are incompetent at running businesses that non-muslims live in Bahrain. The country is so lacking in essential skills it must import lots of workers.

However, Shia discontent has resurfaced in recent years with street demonstrations and occasional low-level violence.
