Let's talk!

I don't like this war in Afghanistan, and I have made my feelings clear about that campaign for some time now. No one has won a war over there since Genghis Khan.- And forgive me for sounding a bit unpatriotic, but I don't see that trend changing anytime soon. As was the case with the Iraqi war, no good will come of it. But his O ness campaigned on a promise to prolong it and chase down al-Qeada over there. Sadly, it seems that this promise, unlike others, cannot be broken.

Having said that, I have to wonder about my man Stanley McChrystal. Talk about a loose cannon. (no pun intended) my man sat down with "Roiling Stone Magazine" and caught a serious case of diarrhea of the mouth. This, at a time, -to stay with the diarrhea analogy- when we are running out of toilet paper.

"Are you asking about Vice President Biden?" McChrystal says with a laugh. 'Who's that?"
'Biden?' suggests a top adviser. 'Did you say: Bite Me?"'

That is just one example of the mouthy general and his crew letting it all hang out.

Of course, I am sure that none of us were surprised to hear that O is not a happy camper, and he has summoned the good general to the White House for an old fashioned sit down. (I wish I could be a fly on that wall. ) As to be expected, the wingnuts are not pleased. ("How dare that nig....Obama call a four star general on the carpet like that as if he really is the HNIC..")

'“I found that time painful,” McChrystal says. “I was selling an unsellable position.”
An unnamed adviser to McChrystal alleges the general came away unimpressed after a meeting with Obama in the Oval Office a year ago.
“It was a 10-minute photo op,” the general’s adviser says.
“Obama clearly didn?t know anything about him, who he was… he didn’t seem very engaged."'

Really Stanley? And yet he gave you damn near everything you wanted in Afghanistan. Even after you tarnished the memory of a true patriot with your bullshit. (Breathe field; breathe...)

I don't know what O will do. I am guessing he keeps the guy. That's his style. Keep the status quo. Don't upset the apple cart.

"I extend my sincerest apology for this profile. It was a mistake reflecting poor judgment and should never have happened. Throughout my career, I have lived by the principles of personal honor and professional integrity. What is reflected in this article falls far short of that standard. I have enormous respect and admiration for President Obama and his national security team, and for the civilian leaders and troops fighting this war and I remain committed to ensuring its successful outcome.”

Apology accepted. Now let's go and wait for more coffins to come into Dover.

I don't care WHO is in the seat of "Commander In Chief". Military discipline cannot afford such back biting.

McChrystal needs to GO for he has dishonored the STRIPES.

Besides any active military commander dumb enough to do an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine and assume that he is among friends doesn't have the foresight to lead.

I can't imagine him being able to predict what the Taliban is going to do if he can't see that any Rolling Stone interview with the Military, Conservative, Republicans or Corporation is NOT going to be a flattering one.

Article 88, Uniform Code of Military Justice.

“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

This is one of the punitive articles in the UCMJ and was drafted for occasions such as this. Note that it specifically applies to commissioned officers.

    General McChrystal, meet General MacArthur.

CF is right (dear God I can't believe I said it!) -- no matter what you feel about the President, he's still the President and its your job in the military to keep your damn mouth shut.

    THE PRESIDENT IS THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF.

McChrystal was being insubordinate. it's not the first time. he needs to be FIRED, but not before he's stripped of at least one of his stars.

The general has done this several times before. When generals can openly criticize and degrade the President and members of his administration-and get away with it..'repeatedly'- then Obama has failed to support members of his Administration and confirmed to America and the world that he is weak, and lacks the power to command.

As Field mentioned, the general is a "loose cannon". He is also very dumb. He should not have had the job in the first place.

The longer he keeps the general around, the more problems Obama and members of his administration will have with him. McChrystal is too untrustworthy, corruptible, and stupid to lead our troops to an outhouse, let alone a war in Afghanistan.

Now he has become part of the problem in Afganistan, and for America. Obama will be making a "grave" mistake if he does not remove him.

    An increasingly politicized military
Army Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal's criticism of Obama administration officials symbolizes an accelerated partisanship of the officer corps.

... Vietnam marked a decisive change. With leading Democrats challenging the Cold War consensus, party politics began to threaten key military interests, and many officers began abandoning their detached stance. With the political rise of Ronald Reagan, the top rank of the officer corps moved from 33% Republican in 1976 to 53% in 1984. By 1996, 67% of the senior officer corps were Republicans, and only 7% were Democrats — the basic pattern continued through 2004.

People can ride this thing, pro or con, and gain from it. Money, power.

The objective changes periodiclly, our allies and enemies can be shifted about to suit the situation, various boogie men can be trotted out and shook at the public to keep them in line, sacrifice and a "blood equity" that "we" have invested that must keep us there until "the job" (whatever it may actually be) is done.

I've noticed that so many of the people, on the right and left, who invoke the "blood equity" thing would probably scream in their sleep if they even dreamed of contributing any of the blood, or of they and theirs becoming an actual rather than rhetorical "we".

There is a gentleman I know who was actually a VC many years ago. He read about "The Times Square Bomber" and the anthrax attacks and just shook his head. He cannot believe that Americans actually believe the "official" statements.

When I enlisted in 1980 Carter was the President and most white servicemen called him everything but a child of God.

Good for you. But the military cannot operate on politics. Furthermore, you cannot operate the military as a democracy and expect it to defend democracy at the same time...no one would follow orders! In war, there is no time to be political..you follow the orders of your commander.

But you DO raise the question about whether homosexuals should be in the military.

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

AB - And loose lips sink ships. The issue isn't whether the general is right or wrong. The issue is that he tried to take his boss to the tool shed.

He's not a disgruntled middle manager at BP or Goldman Sachs -- he's the top freakin' general in our country's longest war!! This man has been bred in military life since he was conceived, he should know better. He did the equivalent of fragging the President in a national magazine.

If McChrystal was so against this war and Obama's plan -- he should have resigned and then criticized the Administration. That's what Powell did. That's what Kerry did.
No, he publicly insulted the President's advisors and the VP in one of the most widely circulated counter culture magazines. It was a stupid move and he should be forced to man up and do the right thing.

You don't call your President a panty-waste in the press while your leading troops on foreign land. That's call a Military Code of Ethics -- you don't openly insult your leadership, civilian or otherwise. Especially as a general.

I have plenty of friends, uncles and cousins who are ex-military. Even the most wing-nut of my fam would tell you that was just wrong. Publicly insulting the President in Rolling Stone as you're standing in the middle of Kandahar is just downright stupid.

Alicia, your defense of McChrystal's actions show you care more about bashing Obama than actual ethics.

LACking - Again I believe that McChrystal is more STUPID for doing an interview in Rolling Stone more than anything that he said. However, for him to not have the foresight to know that this magazine has no love for "his kind" and to choose to allow his true feelings to be exposed is beyond DUMB.

CF - you're right, it would only be worse if he worked for Mother Jones or the World Socialist Worker. But the point remains that even if he did the interview with Glenn Beck he'd still be dumb as a post for saying something that crazy to a reporter.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think McChrystal wants out of the war. He realizes it's unwinnable and he wants to save face b/c his COIN (Avatar-seem-to-go-native) strategy will not work. This is not the first time he's been called in to have a sit down with Obama about mouthing off in public. He insulted Biden once during a lecture and Obama called him in for that. It's clear he doesn't respect the White House.

And the RS piece alluded to MacArthur's dismissal for mouthing off at Truman during Korea. So, I think the writer knew he had good stuff to roil everybody up while he walked around taking notes during that open access interview, and I think the writer also knew McChrystal couldn't be so stupid as not to remember MacArthur.

AB - Only in your parallel universe were McChrystal's comments were 'heroic'. He's an old warhorse who thinks he knows better than the folks in Washington. Right or wrong, that's an offense punishable by court marshal in the military.

And yes, I'm well aware of McArthur thinking he was a big stuff and taking on Truman -- and Truman fired his ass immediately!

First of all, read the damn article. McChrystal's issue is that he thinks the Obama Administration are a bunch weak-kneed eggheads who aren't tough enough to fight a war. He's not actually calling for a withdrawal -- since the Obama Administration has been following his playbook from Day 1!! If anything, the general realizes that his 'brilliant' COIN strategy is utter BS in a country that hasn't has a stable government since the Roman Empire. He's covering his ass -- albeit in a ridiculous silly way.

Only a anti-Obama nut job or a right wing goon would think that a 4-star general could insult the President of United States in the middle of a battlefield to a civilian reporter and still keep his job.

And yes, Obama did the right thing by taking McChrystal to the tool shed.

Alicia, I've listed my own accomplishments which are comparable to your, so I won't go there. By your own admission, I'm about 15 years younger than you. Technically, almost you're old enough to be my mother. So yes, you should have more accomplishments than me since 1989-2000 since I wasn't legally able able to drive until 1994.

I then made the point that she is likely up in arms when this is done with Homosexuals in the Military.

The point being that she is not necessarily against WITCH HUNTS in absolute terms as they cast a wide net and cause a high level of suspicion and a loss of morale but merely is in favor of certain types of Witch Hunts.

Alicia's rejection of Obama has little to do with policy -- as she supported Hillary whose ideas were virtually identical on the War and healthcare. What it actually is, I don't know.

Speaking of incompetence...you believe Bush served the interests of this country with sanity and sensibility?

We attacked Iraq with the pretext that Saddam was somehow involved with 9-11, al-Qaeda was finding refuge there, and weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), not only existed in great quantities (including weapons grade yellow cake uranium), but that Saddam Hussein could, and would, any day, pass these weapons off to terrorists.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

We humiliate Muslim men in a Iraqi prison, Abu Ghraib, using some the hated symbols of Islam, dogs, homosexuality, etc, infuriating Arabs and Muslims around the world, fueling both the insurgency, and adding untold numbers to the ranks of al-Qaeda, bent on righting a wrong to Islam, and Arabs.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

We waterboarded, imprisoned without trials both the guilty and the innocent, providing impetus to terrorists' recruitment efforts, enraging millions--and Vice President Cheney quips about the necessity of breaking International treaties to keep America safe.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

Bush's policies--energy policies and market policies--have broken the economic back of this nation, putting us just a stone throw away from a depression, and have compromised the environmental integrity of the Gulf that's rapidly filling up with oil and, if not stopped, will raise sea levels around the world.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

Not only did Bush's actions dig deep into this country's treasure, but he's made us a debtor's nation, as well, with China and other countries holding our markers.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

Thanks to Bush fighting a war we didn't need to fight in Iraq, and abandoning the real front on the war on terror, Afghanistan, this country has lost to sniper fire, mortars, and roadside bombs thousands of this nation's youth.

And the number of Iraqi lives, and Afghan lives that have been lost to this war as collateral damage, have been estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands, and that doesn't account for the number wounded, and injured, or the horrific conditions on the ground that precipitated the death of children and the elderly, because of war-related illness, and deprivation.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

And as Bush was preparing to leave office, he hurried together a a bailout package in the billions of dollars for banks and others, convinced that this country was teetering on the precipice of an imminent economic meltdown.

But Obama gets blasted for establishing an economic recovery package, and bailing out the auto industry, an industry which represents this nation's most important manufacturing effort of any real note.

And you call Obama an "incapable madman"?

Transcript from October 2002 speech in Cincinnati:
    http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021007-8.html

We know that Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist network share a common enemy -- the United States of America. We know that Iraq and al Qaeda have had high-level contacts that go back a decade. Some al Qaeda leaders who fled Afghanistan went to Iraq. These include one very senior al Qaeda leader who received medical treatment in Baghdad this year, and who has been associated with planning for chemical and biological attacks. We've learned that Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases. And we know that after September the 11th, Saddam Hussein's regime gleefully celebrated the terrorist attacks on America. . . .

The attacks of September the 11th showed our country that vast oceans no longer protect us from danger. Before that tragic date, we had only hints of al Qaeda's plans and designs. Today in Iraq, we see a threat whose outlines are far more clearly defined, and whose consequences could be far more deadly. Saddam Hussein's actions have put us on notice, and there is no refuge from our responsibilities.

We've learned that Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases. Nah, they just kept making those connections (at least until 2004)for the purpose of having a really poignant speech. Way to split hairs. It is a common persuasive writing technique to infer a connection by volleying back and forth between two subjects. Let's see Bush's train of thought (on the advice of Rummy): Al Qaeda = responsible for 9/11. Iraq supplies weapons to Al Qaeda and even trains the terrorist. Iraq cheered when America was attacked. This is why we must go to war with Iraq.

    http://www.historycommons.org/context.jsp?item=a240blameiraq#a240blameiraq

"According to the notes, although Rumsfeld has already been given information indicating the 9/11 attacks were done by al-Qaeda (see 12:05 p.m. September 11, 2001) and he has been given no evidence so far indicating any Iraqi involvement, he is more interested in blaming the attacks on Iraq. According to his aide’s notes, Rumsfeld wants the “best info fast. Judge whether good enough to hit S.H. [Saddam Hussein] at same time. Not only UBL [Osama bin Laden].… Need to move swiftly.… Go massive. Sweep it all up. Things related and not.”

[US Department of Defense, 9/11/2001 pdf file; US Department of Defense, 2/6/2006 pdf file] Earlier in the day, Cambone took notes for Rumsfeld that indicate Rumsfeld is keen to move against Iraq following the 9/11 attacks, even though he was aware there may be no connection between Iraq and 9/11 (see (2:40 p.m.) September 11, 2001).

Presidents fire generals. That's standard operating procedure. Truman fired MacArthur and Lincoln fired some of his generals. Obama had no choice in this situation.

However, Obama's comments and his other inactivity prove his overwhelming hypocrisy.

McChrystal gets booted for opening his mouth -- white doing his job.

On the other hand, Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior -- who has been failing since Day One of this administration -- is still on the job.

Obama said he would have fired BP's Tony Hayward. But he won't fire the guy who heads the agency that bears more responsibility for the Gulf Oil Leak than BP.

Meanwhile, McChrystal's firing is going to increase awareness of the uselessness of staying in Afghanistan. Even though Obama stated his Afghanistan goals, the goals themselves are, according to Big Mouth Biden, meant for public consumption. Not as true military objectives.

On this one we can trust Biden's careless comments. They reveal the true intent of the administration. Obama is afraid to kill muslims, as the impossibly restraining Rules of Engagement show.

That's how it goes for someone who is, in his heart of hearts, still a muslim.

Face facts. He was born a muslim. During his most impressionable years he lived in muslim nation, and in his adulthood, he sat in a church headed by Reverend Wright, a disciple of Louis Farrakhan.

Obama has shown he supports the Palestinians over Israel and he is standing by while Iran obtains a nuclear weapon that Ahmadenijad has promised to use against Israel.

In Afghanistan Obama's Rules of Engagement have been so stringent that enemy fighters have operated freely wherever they can find civilian cover. Meanwhile, he is trying to buy the Taliban with cash. That's a failed strategy.

Obama also said the muslim evening call to prayer is one of the most beautiful sounds there is.

His behavior is not politics. His muslim sympathies are real. They are the true Obama.

  183. Regarding the discovery of mineral reserves in Afghanistan.

Someone mentioned Lithium. The world's leading source of Lithium is Bolivia. Bolivia is a nation of nitwit incompetent people who cannot manage a large-scale mining operation. The same is true for Afghanistan.

Muslims, as they have proven for 1,400 years, lack the skills needed for running a successful mining operation.

Anyway, lithium is not quite the new gold. It is not in short supply and even though some batteries contain lithium, global is easily met.

If electric cars are to succeed, the success will result from batteries that are many times better than the best Lithium-Ion batteries now in use. Thus, lithium itself is NOT the key.

Meanwhile, the vast bulk of revenue coming from sales of natural resources goes to the country where those resources are mined or produced.

Like oil from Saudi Arabia or oil from Iraq -- the money goes to Riyadh and Baghdad.

If the muslim morons were interested in building modern societies, they would learn how to run mining and oil operations, as well as learn how to handle all the other jobs necessary in a complex capitalistic society.

But they want to increase their misery and submit to Islam, traits to which our president is sympathetic.

And you remain consistently, irrefutably misinformed. Self-inflicted ignorance is a wound that can be easily healed.

Google is a 'magic bullet' for this type of affliction.

Here's one link out of hundreds, which, if taken on a full stomach, and a empty head, might help.

"Obama has shown he supports the Palestinians over Israel and he is standing by while Iran obtains a nuclear weapon that Ahmadenijad has promised to use against Israel.

More poppycock...more drivel not founded in the truth, nor supported by the facts.

Here's what anti-Israel Obama has proposed for Israel, just this year.

Obama seeks U.S. military aid to Israel.

Facing criticism for proposing aid increases to Israel, that will deepen this nation's deficit, we have this...

"One week later, he [Obama] sent his FY2011 budget request to Congress, which included a record-breaking $3 billion in military aid to Israel.

"This requested increase in U.S. weapons to Israel -- part of a ten-year $30 billion agreement signed between the two countries in 2007 -- qualifies on both counts as a program that the United States can't afford and that doesn't work in establishing a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians."

This Obama, described above, is a far cry from the one that you described.

What am I to believe...your unsubstantiated 'day dream reality,' or the 'sun light reality' of the facts?

"In Afghanistan Obama's Rules of Engagement have been so stringent that enemy fighters have operated freely wherever they can find civilian cover. Meanwhile, he is trying to buy the Taliban with cash. That's a failed strategy."

If that's the rug upon which you stand to make your ridiculous claim, well, that rug is about to be pulled from under you.

Consider the following quote, with this telling, and provocative title...

Petraeus to Modify Afghanistan Rules of Engagement (Get Ready For More Civilian Slaughter)

"Any adjustment to the rules of engagement does not mean the counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan will change. President Obama stressed Wednesday — after he accepted Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s resignation in the wake of a magazine article in which he and his staff were critical of the administration — that the change-up does not represent a shift in war policy."

"Obama also said the muslim evening call to prayer is one of the most beautiful sounds there is."

Your use of this statement to support your asinine claim is beyond ridiculous, and doesn't merit a response.

    A zinger from Zing.

  185. zing,

You show the standard dopiness of people who cannot comprehend the Israeli/Palestinian issue combined and compounded by the sympathies of our former muslim president.

The article you linked to your post -- about aid to Israel -- was part of the dopiness.

For some reason Israel is expected to install a defensive rocket "shield" as a form of protection from the murderous efforts of the killers in the Gaza Strip.

Of course, in most of the world, when one nation fires weapons at targets in another nation, the firing is considered an act of war that is countered with a retaliatory strike.

Thus, if Israel were not pressured by Obama to operate only in a defensive mode, Israel would return fire whenever rockets were fired.

But Obama is so supportive of Hamas and the Palestinians that he wants Israel to put up a rocket umbrella while patiently waiting for the Palestinians to complete their rocket barrages.

Meanwhile, Obama knows that Hamas is a terrorist organization that states in its charter its goal of destroying Israel and driving all Jews out of the middle east. Yet Obama treats this elected terrorist government with respect. As though its goals are legitimate.

As long as Hamas controls the Gaza Strip, there is NO chance it will agree to the creation of a Palestinian state that abuts Israel. But Obama pretends otherwise.

    As you quoted:

...a program that the United States can't afford and that doesn't work in establishing a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Apparently you cannot see the obvious. The quote makes the point. It says there can be no peace between Israel and the Palestinians as long as there are Israelis on the patch of ground the Palestinians want.

As for the Petraeus Rules of Engagement statement -- well, since Big Mouth Biden and Obama have said US troops are to begin leaving Afghanistan next summer, the Taliban and other terrorist, muslim fundamentalist groups can rest easy for the next year, but take a few pot shots at US troops when the shooting looks easy.

Yes, Petraeus wants to let those itchy trigger fingers go to work. But if he does and a few civilians are shot, which will happen because muslim fighters mingle with civilians for protection, then Obama will restrain Petraeus.

Meanwhile, Obama still supports Karzai, which means Obama fully understands what will happen in Afghanistan after we leave. Since he knows all hope for democracy, freedom and capitalism will collapse after US forces leave, he should act now. But rather than act honestly, he's acting politically.

He will allow US soldiers to die to protect his image. He will also risk much more. The Soviet Union came undone because it stayed in Afghanistan, fighting for no rational purpose. The US is at that point -- and he knows it.

    ReplyDelete
  186. no_slappz said...'He will allow US soldiers to die to protect his image. He will also risk much more. The Soviet Union came undone because it stayed in Afghanistan, fighting for no rational purpose. The US is at that point -- and he knows it.'

The irrationality of your statements are remarkable for their irrationality.

Bush saw no need to abandon the war in Afghanistan, nor saw a need to actually win there.

To solidify his resolve, he picked up, and went to Iraq. That's the ticket, fight al-Qaeda in Iraq, so we don't have to fight them in Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Obama's war there is not quite two-years old and, I agree, he should have pulled troops when 'W' left office, but you know, and I know, that the howl on the Right would have been deafening...and staying and fighting the 'real war,' was an Obama campaign pledge.

But, to be expected, you walked away from your initial premise...Obama's love for Muslims.

Were that true, Obama would've pulled troops almost two years ago, and wouldn't have stepped up drone attacks in Pakistan.

Your claims are magically appearing rabbits in hats, pulled out by the ears to impress idiots, and the misinformed.

Already you're dispensing future claims, from an overstocked dispenser, about how Obama will act if X happens.

Wow, what impeccable logic, or lack thereof. Using drone attacks in Pakistan, Obama kills Muslims, enraging many Pakistani Muslims, because he loves Muslims.

Because he loathes the killing of innocent Muslims is proof positive of that love.

Obama continues to fight in Afghanistan, where daily our international coalition of troops are killing both the guilty and the innocent, but Obama is staying, for 'no rational purpose,' than to 'protect his [I have mad love for Muslims] image'.

To top off this carefully baked soufflé of reasoning, you would have me believe that our coalition partners in the region are supporting 'rules of engagement' that are endangering their troops, as well, to appease Obama's love of Muslims, and lack of commitment to killing them.

It's good to know that we have our own man, in you no_slappz, on the White House's National Security Team.

I can't tell you how comforting I find that.

I see. So then you admit he is a president most concerned with his polling.

and staying and fighting the 'real war,' was an Obama campaign pledge.

Yes, and he pledged to close Guantanamo. But, as we know, that will never happen. Meanwhile, campaign pledges are always dubious. They may sound good and they may draw some votes, but with respect to Afghanistan, the question of our goals is unanswered -- which plays into the hands of muslims.

They are willing to fight a war of attrition -- they will keep at it until we are exhausted and quit.

As the leaders of the Taliban and al-Qaeda repeat -- they love death more than we love life. Hence, their combat losses mean very little to them as long as there are more fighters ready to die. Muslims do not see victory and defeat as we do. That is a problem.

Iran and Iraq fought for eight years -- 1980 to 1988 -- fighting to a stalement which killed a million.

But the US beat the crap out of Iraq in 100 hours in 1991 and thoroughly and totally destroyed the Iraqi military in several weeks in 2003.

But, to be expected, you walked away from your initial premise...Obama's love for Muslims.

He has repeatedly given his sympathy and support to muslims over those with whom they fight.

The restrictive Rules of Engagement controlling US troops are a huge benefit to muslim fighters.

Were that true, Obama would've pulled troops almost two years ago, and wouldn't have stepped up drone attacks in Pakistan.

Inasmuch as muslims -- especially the leaders -- have no regard for human life, it matters little to them if a few die when they meet US forces.

Meanwhile, the drone attacks in Pakistan help the corrupt Pakistani leadership maintain its power. Otherwise, Pakistan might surrender to the Taliban, which would put nuclear weapons in their hands.

However, if Obama truly wanted to stop that event, he would destroy Pakistan's nuclear arsenal. Instead, he is frittering around, killing a few 7th-century fighters to pass the time until they and the Iranians get their hands on nuclear weapons.
