Michele, "The Tonight Show" is calling.

"Tragedy hit Sunday after a young woman was caught in floodwaters caused by Hurricane Irene and died in her car in Salem County.
New Jersey State Police say Celena Sylvestri of Quinton, N.J., called authorities for help from her car on a flooded road early Sunday morning in Salem County and was found dead in the vehicle about eight hours later.

Sylvestri was driving to her boyfriend’s house when her car became stuck in floodwaters. Sylvestri called for help about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, first to her boyfriend then 9-1-1, saying water was up to her neck in her Honda Accord.
For some reason she had tried driving through the Salem River Creek and it had lifted her car off Harding Highway in Pilesgrove.

We tried to find her, we tried to locate her, we were screaming for her -- we couldn't find her," said State Police Lt. Jay Miller. "There was just so much water -- water was surging -- there was no telling where she went in at. It was just a dangerous situation."

Her body was found in her car about 9:30 a.m. about 80 feet off the road by state troopers, police said.

She was swept off the road and deep into the woods. She appeared to still be strapped into her car seat when she was found, according to authorities.

Her car was submerged along Route 40." [Source]

Hahaha......wait, that's not funny. Who would even make fun of something as tragic as a natural disaster that caused the death of poor Ms. Sylvestri and at least 34 other people?

"As it turns out, Rep. Michele Bachmann was joking Sunday, according to an aide, when she said that God was sending a message to Washington through Hurricane Irene and last week's East Coast earthquake.
Talking Points Memo reports the following:

"Obviously she was saying it in jest," campaign spokesperson Alice Stewart told TPM in a statement.
According to the St. Petersburg Times, during a Florida campaign stop Sunday Bachmann, a fundamentalist Christian said the following:
"I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here?' Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we've got to rein in the spending." [Source]
We have got to "rein" something in alright, but it ain't our spending.

"Bachmann, among the top three candidates seen to have a chance to win the Republican nomination and take on President Barack Obama next year, made similar comments elsewhere in Florida on Saturday, drawing some laughs from her audience.

When the remarks began drawing wide attention, she went into some damage control.

"Of course I was being humorous when I said that. It would be absurd to think it was anything else," Bachmann said on Monday on a campaign stop in Miami."I am a person who loves humor, I have a great sense of humor," she said." [Source]

Hahaha!!

Sure she was 'joking'. Except those of us who know Fundie...know she was making a statement. One for the Troo Beleevers, who see gawds messages in all things.

What does her hatred of AfAm citizens getting the same perks and programs as wites have to do with folks drowning in floods?

Unless, she is equating the Flood of Noah...with this one. We are being 'punished' by a Stone Age misogynist psychopathic gawd...for the sin of using tax money to help our fellow citizens.

    Field,
Did you have a day of mourning because of this poor girl dying? Did you make any jokes? Or do you expect only those on the liberal hit list to apply standards liberals themselves cant live up to?

We all know Bachman is a side pieced for the liberal junk sit and spin machine, keep focusing on her while Perry takes the white house in a landslide. Too bad liberals can't solve problems as much as they can try and create fake attacks on people they feel threatened by. Just imagine if they used all that energy to create somehthing rather than take something from someone else.

    Frm the previous thread:

"Until the two executive orders he signed against our consitution last week. Illegal aliens come on over and no more whites need apply for government jobs."

Field said, "How many white folks do you see lining up for those $7 an hour jobs? Your kids, maybe. But they will be back in school soon. Bring in the Mexicans."
    ------------------------------------

"History is going to show that when Obama abandoned the rule of law around this time, it began the complete eroding of the Black Community. You keep kidding yourself that Blacks are competing with whites while the illegals take the transportation, construction, warehouse, logistics, service sector, manufacturing, meat processing, agricultural, high tech labor and more jobs. Will this impact undereducated whites? Yes. Will this impact Blacks who at current averages of 51+% drop out of HS more. Yes. The artificial black middle class with government jobs, postal service etc is crumbling. The only profession exclusive and the number one on the list for blacks currently is Barber Shop, hair cutter. For now.... a bunch of illegals were just seen stocking up on scissors and clippers.

Thats the cause, the real effect however is the complete illegality of abandoning our constitution. Backdooring and bypassing the required congressional approval to in essence put the burden of support on US citizens for the worlds refugees, in the midst of a crisis. If you don't have a problem with this, just remember soon it wont be Obama in charge and it might be someone else who breaks the constitution for his or her special interest groups and who knows who that will be against.

Say hello to the continuing decline of America. One that will continue to whallop us all, but have an even more profound effect on black america from the getgo. You don't think black unemployment is higher than all other races due to coincidence do you? Illegals fill AA qoutas just as well."

This reply is so insightful and true. Thank you.

Black Sports News of the Day:

FBI: Crittenton arrested in California Javaris Crittenton is charged with the murder of a 22-year-old mother.

    Aug. 30, 2011

    SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP)
Former NBA player Javaris Crittenton was in police custody after being arrested at a Southern California airport to board a flight to Atlanta, where his lawyer said he would go to surrender in a murder case.

Crittenton, who was suspended from the league for having guns in a locker room with teammate Gilbert Arenas, was arrested Monday evening at John Wayne Airport in Orange County after checking in for a redeye Delta Air Lines flight, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. She said he was with a male companion who was not arrested.

Crittenton was taken to a Los Angeles police station where he was booked on suspicion of being a fugitive from justice. Eimiller said he will be held pending a possible court appearance in state court Wednesday before being taken to Atlanta.

Crittenton, 23, was wanted on a federal arrest warrant after the FBI learned that he traveled on a one-way ticket to Los Angeles, where he was known to have family and friends, several days after a deadly Aug. 19 shooting.

Police in Atlanta had obtained a murder warrant for Crittenton in the Aug. 19 shooting of 22-year-old Jullian Jones, a mother of four young children, as she was walking with two men. Police believe one of the men with her was the target.

When he was with the Washington Wizards in December 2009, Crittenton and Arenas had a dispute over a card game on a team flight. Two days later, Arenas brought four guns to the locker room and set them in front of Crittenton's locker with a sign telling him to ''PICK 1.'' Crittenton then took out his own gun.

    ------------------

Khadaffi was enamored with pan-Africanism over the past couple of decades and had actively imported over a million black Africans into a nation of 6.5 million. The fact that he had used black mercenaries to keep his subjects down didn't help with the PR for the newcomers. Khadaffi's pro-immigration and pan-African policies were especially unpopular with his subjects, and hence the rebels have long been taking out their ire especially on the Colonel's foreign black mercenaries.

Similarly, the Bahrain uprising by the Shi'ite majority had a lot to do with the Sunni regime's policy of electing a new people by importing Sunni immigrants, typically security service types from other countries. But Bahrain is closely allied with the U.S., so they didn't get any cruise missiles shot at the government while they put down their people.

    wtfu!!!!!!!

It reminds me of when activists were asked to vote for Lyndon Johnson in 1964 with the slogan “Part of the Way with LBJ.” That way ended with an endless escalation of war in Vietnam, and guns trumping butter. Sound familiar?

The search for truth and reality has hit a wall, but has to continue. The lessons need to be learned. We have to say we were wrong, when we were, not in our beliefs, but in pinning our hopes on a shrewd, ambitious, and double-faced political performance artist.

While people who still back him dismiss the accusation that’s he’s a hidden socialist, Kenyan, or space alien, all too many suspect he may be a secret Republican. He is who he is, aloof, cautious, and a man in the middle. He’s staying there.

Let’s give David Foster the last word:

“The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day. That is real freedom. The alternative is unconscioussness,…

… It is about simple awareness – awareness of what is so real and essential, so hidden in plain sight all around us, that we have to keep reminding ourselves, over and over ….”

@Purple Cow - thanks for that link on Libya. I was aware that some racist scapegoating had been going on, but I was unaware that had continued.

What a mess Libya is! Nationalists in the US are trying to paint Quadaffi as some kind of progressive when in actuality he was just another despot who pimped pan africanism.

Whatever good he tried to do in Libya --his determination to keep the nation independent was admirable -- was outweighed by his insistence on remaining in power.

And the rebels have an element within that doesn't really want to change society but change who rules it.

The oppression of Sub-Saharan Africans is counter revolutionary and from the start belied some of their real intentions.

And of course their close cooperation with the fake European and American liberators also exposed them.

The CERN paper does not say that global warming is caused by the sun.
    ----------

The sun would have nothing to do with climate, right Cow?

The CERN paper did say that changes in the sun's output correlated positively with temperature, and identified the mechanism.

You can refuse to draw the obvious conclusion if you wish, but I'll go with the science.

Go back and read the article I linked to, you clearly don't understand what's going on. The paper dopes not say, or even suggest, that global warming is increased by sun activity.
