It's time for some real talk for my man Cory Booker. I know, I know, some of you have mad love for Cory, and fam seems to be holding it down in Newark. The whole fire rescue thing was straight out of Hollywood.
But I have to keep it real with you, sometimes you Negroes tend to lose it when that little red light comes on. Cory lost it last Sunday on Meet the Press. Not because he strayed off the White House talking points and put a smack down on them for going all Bain Capital on Flipper, but because he admitted that he was a surrogate and did it. What kind of surrogate does that? O, with friends like these....
Please believe that one of Flipper's surrogates would not have done something like this. They would hold the party line and stick to the talking points no matter what. This is what certain folks do. You Negroes, on the other hand, just can't seem to stick together. I guess it's because you want to seem independent, which is fine, but don't pretend to be in O's camp and when he sends you out there you ad lib and lose the script.
In Corey's case, I want to believe that he genuinely has no problem with Bain Capital and other companies like it. But he also has to understand how politics works. Obama is trying to win a damn election, who cares if Flipper's feelings are hurt or if he is characterized as a bad guy? I know Cory Booker's black ass shouldn't. It's not like Flipper is going to do anything for Cory Booker and Newark, New Jersey if and when he becomes president. Bain Capital is fair game. If Flipper can defend their business practices that's fine, if not, the voters will decide. The same is true of universal health care and all the other policies Obama put into place.
Sorry Cory, I let the Chris Christie thing go; he is your governor, I can understand you palling around with him for a few laughs. This, on the other hand, I have to call you out on. Older black folks back used to say that if you don't have anything good to say you shouldn't say anything at all. You should have taken their advice yesterday. Now I see you trying to moonwalk your way out of your comments, but it's too late. A You Tube video from your office does not have the reach of NBC.
Let that be a lesson to you the next time you see that little red light come on.
But doesn't he have an obligation to speak the truth as he sees it?
ReplyDeleteIf I were more cynical I might say he's using the same "both sides are at fault", "I'm the only grown up in the room" argument that the President likes to use OR he's just looking out for his own political interests.
But either way the President is raising money from the same people he's attacking. So it's all a joke.

ReplyDeleteFN mentioned.."Older Black folks used to say if you can't say anything........"
ReplyDeleteObama has taken it a step further..he told the members of the Congressional Black Caucus to stop complaining...(basically to shut up)!!!
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said Monday that she found President Barack Obama’s speech to the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) “curious” and she’s not sure who he was talking to.
At the annual CBC awards banquet Saturday, Obama had told the crowd, “Shake it off. Stop complaining. Stop grumblin’. Stop crying. We are going to press on. We have work to do.”
“I found that language a bit curious because the president spoke to the Hispanic caucus and certainly they are pushing him on immigration and despite the fact that he has appointed Sotomayor to Supreme Court, he has office for excellence in Hispanic education in the White House,” Waters told CBS’ Erica Hill. “He certainly didn’t tell them to stop complaining.”
“And he never would say that to the gay and lesbian community who really pushed him on don’t ask, don’t tell or even in a speech to AIPAC, he would never say to the Jewish community, ‘Stop complaining about Israel.’ So I don’t know who he was talking to because we are certainly not complaining.

ReplyDeletekudos to caroline k!
ReplyDeleteand cory booker!
Despite endorsing Obama in 2008, JFK’s daughter Caroline now considers Obama a “liar,” according to a family source in Edward Klein’s new book on Obama called “The Amateur.”
Caroline’s past support for Obama, which was mirrored by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, caused a riff in the family. In fact, Klein writes of an incident where Bobby Kennedy Jr. got in his uncle Ted‘s face over Ted’s support for the president.
Some of the Kennedys’ diminishing support for the president is due to the Obamas snubbing several members of the Kennedy family on multiple occasions — one that sent Ethel Kennedy on a furniture-turning rant.
But despite the tension, both families know the Kennedys have no one else to support, and that “really pisses [Caroline] off.”

firld, if I didn't know better, I'd swear you were saying that Bokker, like all Obama "surrogates", should LIE, if that's what it takes for Obama to be re-elected? You know, like you always accuse Fox News of doing so?
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't seem right.
You Negroes, on the other hand, just can't seem to stick together.
ReplyDeleteA simple observation that explains the world-wide failure of black enterprises and black nations.
Stop crying is good advice for Maxine Waters.
ReplyDeleteCory Booker is toast. I have been a big fan of his but what he did yesterday on MTP was purely self serving. Romney is already using his comments in an ad campaign. I can't wait for Romney to win so that he can reinstate DADT or worse, the health care program (that addes amost 30 million people to health care coverage), etc. Forget about green technology development. China is going to continue to be the leader and the GOP will continue to fawn tax breaks and any other government largesse on the oil industry, You want to live in Romney's world and now you will get to do that. This is the same 2000 bleating we heard about how there was no difference between Al Gore and George Bush. You Negroes have the attention spans of newborns. You will get what you so richly deserve. I hope you enjoy it. Then you can cry to Romney about how he doesn't deal with "our" issues.

That doesn't seem right.
Now what other choice do Democrats have? They can't talk about the crazy policies they have that have failed in every instance they tried them.
So they lie and call you names and try to make you look like a bad person distracting from who they are. It doesn't work anymore, people are disowning the moonbats.
What do you call what you do Field? Jigging for your Democratic masters, sell your soul? Lie and dishonor yourself. You are a JigoCrat. Stay on that Plantation, like the Democrats say, we know without us you would die, you aren't capable of doing anything.

Yep.
Sup Anne? Thanks for the kind words, and don't be a stranger.
Forget about green technology development. China is going to continue to be the leader...
ReplyDeleteYes, let's forget about green technology as soon as possible. We can recall it when the technology improves enough to make it competitive with oil.
It's purely a technical shortcoming. Solar is way, way, way, way too inefficient to compete with coal and natural gas.
Batteries in electric cars are way, way, way, way too inefficient to compete with gasoline.
...and the GOP will continue to fawn tax breaks and any other government largesse on the oil industry
Name a "tax break" the oil industry gets.
The oil industry operates with the same accounting treatment as every other industry, mainly benefiting from one deduction -- "depreciation."
Every company enjoys that one.

Dear Mr Field, Cory is an American hero who deserves respect for his opinion. Please refrain from criticizing him and the entire black race.

It's archaic - to have supper. Or some say it to mean "what's up" these type of folk are also commonly known to say ' I din't du nuffin' Use "mothafucka" a lot and for some reason take long sheeeeeeeeeeiiiiiit''s - might be something to do with "sup" ing so much.
"Loose lips sink campaigns."

I thought the requirements for becoming a lawyer required proof of satisfactory character? In some states I guess they interpret this as proof you are a character. Cartoon type.
What Mayor Booker was really saying, Mr. Field, was that should the President win a second term the Mayor does not want to be considered for a position in that administration and furthermore that should the Mayor run for elected office again he does not want the support of the DNC.

Demography is destiny:
ReplyDeleteSince Roe v. Wade, abortions have carried off 53 million of the generations that were to replace the boomers. While those 53 million lost have been partially replaced by 40 million immigrants, legal and illegal, our recent immigrants have not exhibited the same income- or tax-producing capacity as boomers.
Perhaps a better name for Generation X would be Generation M, for murdered. Now, the idea that one group of people can be expected to adequately fill in for another is hardly new. Military historians trace the evolution of the Roman legions from nearly pure Italian stock to mostly barbarian over the course of the Republic and Empire, and it is hardly surprising that the barbarian generals showed themselves to be much more inclined to march on Rome and declare themselves Emperor than the Romans brought up in the patrician traditions did, Gaius Julius Caesar being the obvious exception. In his book on Stalingrad, Anthony Beevor notes the way in which the Soviets particularly targeted the Nazi's Third and Fourth Romanian armies in the massive counteroffensive known as Operation Uranus and were thus able to encircle and destroy the German Sixth Army. Had the Red Army been facing 600,000 German soldiers rather than 250,000 Germans, 150,000 Romanians, and 220,000 Italians, it is very unlikely that their attack would have succeeded.
It is impossible to deny that the United States would not merely look very different, it would be very different if, instead of 40 million non-Americans bringing their genetic traits, societal behavioral patterns, and cultural traditions into the country - we can no longer reasonably describe it as a nation - there were 40 million more black and white Americans raised within the American tradition.
It is not necessary to declare if change is for the better or for the worse to note that it has taken place. And with regards to the question of whether it is for the better or not, it should be readily apparent that the direction of the migrational pattern shows which society is deemed superior by everyone except those charged with protecting the more desirable one.
But what has happened has happened. That world is lost. The 53 million black and white Americans of my generation and the succeeding one are already dead. While Karl Popper argues against "historicity" and that predictions based on historical patterns are no better than soothsaying, I think he is wrong and the eventual consequences are readily apparent. We have always known that the USA would eventually fall, since all kingdoms and empires do in time. But now, we can be reasonably confident that we know why, if not necessary when.
"Let that be a lesson to you the next time you see that little red light come on." You got that right Field!
ReplyDeleteSeems like some people think politics is about telling the truth - ha! Obama has dodged the truth many times, as well as every other politician in the history of the world. With that said, I will vote for him again, because he is a much better choice than Romney.
Cory got his butt handed to him by the Dems for what he said, and now the GOP is going in on him real bad via social media. Bottom line - he took half a mil from Bain for his 2002 compaign - and that is what that MTP rant was about - MONEY. That's politics! Nothing truthful about it, just paying back Bain. We Black people don't really understand how the game is played - it's ugly and dirty. Truth, justice, and right ain't got nothing to do with this game.
It's sad because he has been a good mayor from what I have seen, but he stepped out of his lane and got hit. Neither the Dem's or GOP will let him forget it - just damn sad.
As is bug-eyed obvious, none of you clowns knows a thing about Private Equity.
ReplyDeleteWhy? Because there are no blacks in the Private Equity business. Just like there are no blacks running hedge funds, mutual funds or other investment operations.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their President.

I live about six miles from Newark City Hall. This was an overdue reality check for us about where Cory gets his campaign money & who he pals around with in New York City. He has a real problem now with rank & file Jersey Democrats, who are sick of Democratic politicians making nice with Repugs. In the end they're gonna get burned bad, just like the President did. We don't want to hear any defense of Bain & Romney. Unhappy members of the Congressional Black Caucus “probably would be marching on the White House” if Obama were not president, according to CBC Chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.).

President Obama raised far more cash from hedge fund and private equity donors than any other candidate in the 2008 election cycle.
According to an analysis by the nonprofit group Open Secrets, Obama took in nearly $3.5 million from large private-equity donors that year — nearly twice what his general-election rival, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), pocketed.

Police: 2 Canadian Tourists Killed In Random Atlantic City Stabbing Attack
ReplyDeleteMay 21, 2012
By Todd Quinones
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) – Two female tourists were stabbed to death in what appears to have been a random and unprovoked attack in Atlantic City Monday.
At about 10 a.m., an officer on patrol in the 1900 block of Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City saw a 44-year-old woman, identified as Antoinette E. Pelzer, stabbing another woman. The officer drew his gun and ordered Pelzer to drop the knife. She complied and was taken into custody.

ReplyDeleteRemember a few things about the whole Cory Booker/MTP brush up. First, like most New York Tri-state politicians, Booker needs to stay on Wall Street's good side to some degree. And an ambitious guy like Mayor Booker is obviously eyeing the governor's mansion in 2016. So I'm not so shocked about Corey Booker's 'fumble', disappointed, but not shocked.
ReplyDeleteThat said, who really cares? This is a bait and switch from Team Romney and the GOP hacks. Instead of focusing on the issue - Mitt Romney is an empty suit corporatist running on the crappy policies of George W. Bush, they're squawking about a small city Mayor stumbling over his words.
The Other Side of the Story: Romney and Bain Capital Successes...
ReplyDeleteAmong Bain Capital’s investments under Romney, the large job creators are clearly Staples and Sports Authority. Both of these were small, young companies when Bain Capital invested in them. Bain invested in Staples when it had only one store, so there were likely fewer than 200 employees at the time. Bain appears to have invested in the Sports Authority when it had fewer than ten stores. Unfortunately, there are no public data to say how many people were employed at that time. At the end of 1998, Staples had more than 42,000 employees, Sports Authority had almost 14,000, Gartner Group had almost 3,000, and Steel Dynamics had over 500. So at the beginning of 1999, when Romney left Bain Capital, these four companies alone employed almost 60,000 total employees. While some of the job growth at Sports Authority came from acquisitions, there is no doubt that these four companies created tens of thousands of jobs over the period.
Fast forward to today. By the end of 2011, Staples had about 89,000 employees. Sports Authority is now a private company. The last time it reported employee numbers, in 2006, it had 14,300 employees. In addition, Gartner Group had over 4,400 and Steel Dynamics had over 6,000 employees. Using the most recently available data, these four companies alone employed almost 125,000 total employees.
Bain Capital also successfully turned around several existing businesses during Romney’s tenure. For example, Bain Capital bought Wesley Jessen Vision Care for $6 million in 1994. It had been a division of Schering Plough and was not profitable. Bain Capital and a new CEO turned it around and sold it to Ciba Geigy for over $300 million in 2001. When it was sold, it appears to have had 2,600 employees. Today, the company is part of Ciba Vision.
Overall, then, the companies Bain Capital funded under Romney have created tens of thousands of jobs using any measure.
Having read about your blog on Black Enterprise I was interested in reading... I made it as far as the second paragraph of Cory Booker.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a law degree then you must have been educated somewhere.
Being an educated person, it seems to me that you're "blacking" up your language in this blog to reach a certain demographic. Also being educated, you're familiar with reverse racism and to speak so boldly against racism then to partake yourself is the definition of hypocrisy. I'm sure this comment will be moderated but as long as someone reads it first...
Obama , Booker, and Romey get money from private equity firms..Its laughable that somehow Corey Booker is being made out to be the bad guy when every last person regarding this issue has been paid by private quity firms. Further proving that there is NO difference between the two candidates. Good Cop/Bad Cop routine, and the sheep fall right in line... We must give them the shock of their lives when the votes go somewhere else.
