Missing in the Big Easy, tricking Breitbart, and Dennis and his friend the menace.

Shout out to Ryan Smith and the folks at HLN for featuring the story of that missing New Orleans teacher. Hopefully more news outlets will feature her story and she won't be just another missing person story pushed to the side like all the others with people who look like her.

Terrilynn Monette's family must really be going through it right now, but unfortunately these types of cases never usually end well.

So anyway, on to some lighter news. That Paul Krugman is one sneaky dude. Looks like he played along with a Daily Currant story that duped the clueless Breitbart gang.

Now, to be fair, I myself have been duped by that crew in the past, but I am not a high profile conservative website with all kinds of resources and money at my disposal. There is no excuse for jumping on a faux news story on their part.

"How delicious: Paul Krugman, legendary economist and liberal lion, has declared bankruptcy! Breitbart.com saw solid gold and quickly jumped on the story — If Krugman can’t even manage his own finances, why should we trust his advice on the nation’s, right?

Unfortunately for conservatives in the early throes of schadenfreude, the story comes from the Daily Currant, a satirical news site that competes with the Onion. It’s bogus. “I decided not to post anything about it; instead, I wanted to wait and see which right-wing media outlets would fall for the hoax,” Krugman wrote on his blog. “And Breitbart.com came through!”

“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go give a lavishly paid speech to Friends of Hamas,” he continued, poking fun at Breitbart’s recent invention of a group that doesn’t exist.

Breitbart summarily removed the story without a correction or note, so that the URL now leads to a 404 error. It’s generally considered more ethical to leave an erroneous story online with a prominent correction than to delete it entirely, except in the case of plagiarized material, when leaving the story up could violate the source author’s intellectual property."

Come on now, "ethical" and Breitbart doesn't belong in the same paragraph.

Finally, I wish Dennis Rodman would tell his friend over in North Korea to chill.
Kim Jong, if your people are starving and you are strapped for cash, you can't go around threatening to nuke every country where they wear blue jeans.

Violating UN security resolutions time and time again, ending your armistice agreement with your neighbor that ended the Korean War, and having your soldiers chant "death to America" has got the folks here in America (Except Dennis) a little nervous.

"North Korean state television has released a statement issued by the country's foreign ministry, condemning new UN sanctions which the Security Council voted for unanimously on Thursday.

The statement promised that the sanctions would bolster the country's position as a nuclear armed state capable of launching satellites and would force it to take "countermeasures", leading to "a great war for national reunification in case the US opts for conflict finally."

As well as accusing the US of wanting to start a nuclear war, the statement also claimed Washington was creating a "touch-and-go situation on the Korean peninsula." [Source]

Watch it Kim! I know that the the dude in charge here likes to smile and laugh a lot, but believe me when I tell you, he is no joke.

Lying? Why not? Look where it got Al Sharpton?

Racer Tia Norfleet accused of lying about NASCAR career

    Sporting News

Nearly two years ago, Tia Norfleet told Sporting News that she was working toward becoming the first female African-American driver in NASCAR and hoping to pave the way for other African-American drivers to enter the sport.

Since then, she’s been promoting herself as an accomplished driver working her way through the NASCAR ranks and claims that she plans to race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this year.

According to a March 6 story in The New York Times, Norfleet is not licensed to compete in NASCAR and has drawn the ire of NASCAR officials for the way she has been promoting herself.

“I am uncomfortable with Tia representing herself in the way that she has,” Marcus Jadotte, NASCAR’s vice president for public affairs and multicultural development, told The New York Times.

“That’s one of the things I want to change,” Norfleet said in an interview with SN’s David Steele.

“We want to bring a different light to NASCAR. You ask the average person, black, what NASCAR is, and they say, ‘You drive around in a circle, and that’s it—so what?’

“Well,” she continued, “they don’t see anyone there they recognize, or that they can identify with.”

Norfleet has made similar comments and told a similar story in several media interviews over the past two years, including with such media outlets as ESPNw, The Washington Post, Huffington Post and Essence Magazine.

Now one website is calling her story a hoax and comparing her to Manti Te’o.

Norfleet’s website, TiaNorfleet34.com, also says that she planned to race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this year.

But according to The Times, Norfleet is not licensed to compete in NASCAR nor ARCA, another stock-car racing series, and the only NASCAR-sanctioned event she has competed in was in a low-level event last year at the Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va., where she completed just one lap before parking her car.

The Times also reports that Norfleet, who is from Augusta, Ga., has a criminal record in Georgia and Virginia and was found guilty in 2005 and 2009 of assault and drug-related offenses.

Hmmm. A post that starts with a story about a black teacher who was probably murdered by her angry black boyfriend followed by a story about some white guys fooled into running a phony story about a wacky liberal economist.

As posts go, part 1 and part 2 form a non-sequitur. But then part 3 takes the non-sequitur another step by claiming that a wacky dictator had better watch his step with the president, even though a few other wacky dictators caught up in revolutions have had little to fear from the US during this president's administration.

Based on what's here, what can be concluded is what we already knew -- the biggest threat to blacks is a black male, but blacks who've risen to positions of power in the establishment are harmless. They go beyond harmlessness to practice appeasement when it comes to dictators making nuclear weapons.

Maybe you should compare and contrast the noted wacky white economist with a noted black economist. The choice is easy. There's only one noted black economist -- Thomas Sowell.

Obviously, since Bush left office, life for Krugman has soured. Not only does he know he's been wrong about his prescriptions for the economy, the only way he can achieve some relief from his misery is to hope other talking heads and media venues focus on phony stories claiming he's filed for bankruptcy, rather than stories debunking his screwball ideas.

Hugo Chavez? Yeah, sure, Venezuela's a great place.

The murder rate in Hugo's country is 73 per 100,000 citizens.

What is it here in the US? It's 4.6 per 100,000. So murder in Hugo Land occurs at 16 times the US rate. That's progress.

Oil? Since Hugo took over, oil production has declined, dropping from about 3.5 million barrels a day, to 2.5 million barrels a day.

A guess what? The biggest customer of Hugo's oil has always been the US. We used to take 60% of his output. Now, thanks to several factors including higher US production, we're taking only about 40% of Hugo's oil.

And Venezuela, like Saudi Arabia and the other middle east oil states, has nothing else to offer the world, at least nothing else that's legal. The drug trade is thriving in Hugo land, and now that Hugo's dead, the drug business will expand.

The Venezuelan oil industry will weaken further, because those clowns are almost as bad at managing the oil industry as muslims. But Hugo's clowns actually run things, which means they're running them into the ground. The muslims contract the oil work to people who know what they're doing, then pretend it's muslims doing the work. But we know.

Maybe the Citgo sign in Boston will go dark?

Cleanup in aisle 1: Teen's ‘mourners’ trash Brooklyn shops

By KEVIN SHEEHAN, KEN GARGER and JAMIE SCHRAM
    March 12, 2013

THAT'S SOME VIGIL: This Rite Aid drugstore was torn apart last night by rioters who had gathered to mourn Kimani “Kiki” Gray, a reputed Bloods member slain by police after allegedly going for a gun.

A vigil for a teenager fatally shot by cops turned into a riot in Brooklyn last night, as a mob of outraged thugs ransacked stores, broke car windows and assaulted residents in East Flatbush.

The chaos erupted after about 200 people gathered to mourn 16-year-old Kimani “Kiki” Gray, a reputed Bloods gang member who was shot after pulling a gun on police Saturday.

    stormfront/feauxnews/redstate mutant, oil's well said,

"The murder rate in Hugo's country is 73 per 100,000 citizens.

What is it here in the US? It's 4.6 per 100,000. So murder in Hugo Land occurs at 16 times the US rate. That's progress.

    ==========================================================

So the CIA pushes drugs HARD in Venezuela the way George H.W. Bush---while in the CIA and eventually heading the agency---pushed cocaine and heroin from Laos and Cambodia within America's inner cities to combat the Civil Rights Movement during the 60's, using his oil platforms as close offshore drug depots hard in America's inner cities.

We've seen the invisible hand; try again.

As for the oil, you creatures ARE effective in adversely effecting output, as Iran is presently experiencing for failing to prostrate itself to the "new original sin" of white-on-white violence that was the Holocaust as well as Iran representing the very real, mutant xenophobic threat of an ascending once again mighty Persian empire.

    As for Hugo in general,

You mutants remain totally vexed, downright apoplectic that Hugo had 37 Heads of State and 50 delegations to pay their respects. FIFTY! Seriously, FIFTY! Couple that with the Palestinians fairly recently obtaining observer status at the U.N. against the wishes of our pariah nation and our pathetic proxy and fellow pariah regime, the State of Israel [SOI] and it's not hard to see whom the rest of the world feels is the VILLAIN in this equation. Why deny the unassailable, incontrovertible truth?????

Furthermore, could you imagine any U.S. POTUS getting that kind of love? Picture the drug-dealing, genocidal Bushes getting even half that coming to this crumbling empire. I don't think so. That's why I call them mutants, Field, because they don't care, just what you'd expect out of a bunch of non-humans. Mutants are SO disturbed that the rest of the world sees them as they are: the prison capital of the world. This sh/thole now incarcerates, on a for-profit-basis, 2.3 million, with over 60% being of Black and Brown extraction----the very same extraction that Chavez has been laboring to lift up, mind you. Yo, Field, Bloomberg News even had the audacity to question whether Venezuela's elections have been fair when the last election---according to Thom Hartmann in "Can republicans win presidential elections without using fraud & treason?" on YouTube---the republicans won, without resorting to fraud &/or treason, was with Eisenhower in '57-'58! I mean, yo' boy, THIS PRESIDENT, BHO, will go down as the VERY FIRST republican president FAIRLY elected( not that Rove didn't try to sabotage it, according to ANONYMOUS) since Eisenhower!

I'm REALLY, REALLY enjoying that these creatures REALLY took personal Hugo's "waving away the sulfur" diss, personally, and that they're upset that the civilized world remains in mourning. The former mayor of London really gave it up to Hugo, too. He's definitely one of those rare mutants that didn't get the memo. He's gonna try and be a human, by golly!

A true story, yet almost unbelievable.

The cops really oughta take every gang member in Chicago and drop them in the middle of Lake Michigan.

6-Month-Old Girl Shot Five Times Dies

Chicago top cop said incident has "very strong gang overtones"

By Anthony Ponce, Emily Florez and Courtney Copenhagen

Pastor Corey Brooks and Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy react to Jonylah Watkins' death. The girl was shot five times while her father changed her diaper in their minivan.

    Anthony Ponce

A 6-month-old baby has died after she was shot Monday while her father was changing her diaper.

After several surgeries, Jonylah Watkins passed away Tuesday morning, Chicago Pastor Corey Brooks confirmed.

Jonylah's father, identified by family members as 28-year-old Jonathan Watkins, is in stable condition. He was changing the little girl's diaper on the front passenger seat of the family van when the shooting occurred, police said.

"The city of Chicago should be outraged that a 6-month-old baby could be shot and killed in our city," Brooks said. "It's horrific."

Jonylah and Watkins were both taken to hospitals in critical condition after shots rang out at about 12:45 p.m. Monday on the 6500 block of South Maryland Avenue. Watkins was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Jonylah was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital.

Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said incident has "very strong gang overtones" and the father, who has an extensive criminal history, was the intended target.

Krugman had nothing to do with the initial story, but, as he himself stated, he did nothing to counter it, instead allowing it to blow up and create a larger embarrassment for Breitbart.

But who cares? Seeing the post here was my first encounter with the story.

Like I said, some kind of point-counterpoint that matches Krugman and Sowell would be worthwhile, but something tells me it's not going to happen here.

    anonymous 1:59,

Hugo's dead. So's his "revolution". But the corruption in his regime will go on and grow to undermine the entire Venezuelan economy.

If the Venezuelans are lucky, China will assume control of their faltering oil business.

Maybe you don't know that Venezuela's economy is spiraling out of control. Inflation is way way into double digits. Could be running at 30%.

The currency was just devalued, so the poor just got poorer and the rich are leaving. Food shortages are hitting, and, as always crime is bad and getting worse.

So, in your mind, maybe developments like that are enviable and deserving of praise. I guess that must be it.

Anyway, Venezuela is crumbling without any outside help. It's what those strutting Latin American dictators deliver every time.

It's a good thing the US is pumping more oil domestically. Venezuela's likely to see its output fall below 2 million barrels a day, which will make a bigger mess out of an economy that's already in the crapper.

That's why I call them mutants

You call "them" mutants because in your addled small mind this means you no longer have to worry about your exceedingly small IQ, inability to process thoughts seemingly simple to most others and don't have to worry about not having the mental capacity to apply critical thinking or seeing cause and effect to your plans and actions.

It's not you - it's the rest of the world that is substandard.

    Stormfront/redstate/Feauxnews, Apex Mutant Humanoid, etc.,

I call you a mutant because that is what you, technically, are - being that you are a subspecies---due to color mutation, not albinism---of African human. Based upon the mapping of the Genome, whose genetic markers identify the "whiteness" gene as coming upon the fairly recently "genetic drifting" scene only just some 6,000 years ago; add to that Animal Planet's, "How Polar Bears MUTATED From Grizzly Bears," coupled with the Grimaldi Man Find and the Germans identifying the Wurm Ice Age as the catalyst or frigid crucible, the "jig" is officially up as to just how you creatures came into existence, how you all became melanin deficient, and, most importantly, how you all became genetically recessive.

All things fit together interestingly if one is sufficiently intellectually curious enough.

Riddle me this: why do you suppose those of your ilk have NEVER bothered to codify the way you all came into existence, but go on about how the Olduvai Gorge, according to Leakey yielded Lucy?

Humans can attempt to answer, as well.

Why haven't mutants bothered to codify just how they came into existence? And why does/do the stalking mutant(s)----rather than answer the question or refute the science above----engage in or willfully, deliberately deploy: a) answer avoidance, b) deflection, c) denial, d) diversionary tactics, e)obfuscate, f) feign ignorance and/or g) Logical fallacies?

    purple sore,

Your Hugo statistics must have come straight from the Venezuelan government presses.

I see you really have no understanding of oil, which brings in 95% of the money Venezuela derives from exports.

Production has been declining for a long time, pretty much since Hugo took over. Lucky for him that oil prices rose during his tenure, which offset some of the impact of lower production.

In any case, even though you can use your numbers impress yourself, they stink. The global oil business expanded, while Hugo's oil business contracted. That's a pretty sure mark of failure on his part.

As far as your poverty figures go, pretty much 1/3 of Venezuela's population is considered poor.

But maybe Hugo changed the numbers, knocking down the income figure that defines the point at which a citizen is poor.
