Congrats to the Seattle Seahawks for beating the Denver Broncos and bringing a Super Bowl championship to the people of Seattle. Those wonderful people in the great Northwest deserve a championship.
I reached out to my sister this morning to congratulate her. Sis, I hope you got some sleep.
Anyway, the game wasn't much of a game. The Seahawks beat up on Peyton and the boys like they stole something from them.
The commercials were alright. There was nothing groundbreaking, and it just seemed like a bunch of actors trying to ply their wares and make some money.
Things must be really slow in Hollywood these days.
But the commercial that really had the right wing disturbed was the Coca Cola multi- cultural ad featuring people who were....well, different.
One of the clowns over on FOX gave his reasons why this ad was particularly distasteful.
"The problem here,” Bolling said, “and it’s not even bad if you have all the different cultures singing a song, showing America is a mix of different cultures, but don’t put it to ‘America the Beautiful.’ You used the wrong song. You ticked off a lot of Coke drinkers, you ticked off a lot of Americans.”
“For whatever you gain in this diversity thing you’re going for, Coke,” he added, “you blew it with a lot of people who are very, very patriotic about that song.”
“I would be very happy if every language in the world was singing ‘America the Beautiful, because that means we have people focused on the best country on earth in history,” Dana Perino responded. For that reason she thought the whole thing was “a little overblown.” [Source]
Hmmm, "this diversity thing". Unfortunately for the right wingnuts in this country, "this diversity thing" is going to cause them to lose national elections for many years to come. My advice to them would be to get used to it.
This, of course, might be kind of hard, because conservatives live in an upside down world where hot is cold and black is really white.
Take our friend Glen Beck, for instance. He actually believes that the Coca Cola ad last night served to divide and not unite people.
" About the last thing that came to mind when I watched an advertisement for the soft drink Coca-Cola on Sunday night featuring a number of performers singing “America the Beautiful” in a variety of different languages was that it was an “in-your-face” attempt to “divide people.”
That was, however, the impression that conservative radio host Glenn Beck, and a handful of other pundits were left with.
On his radio show Monday morning, Beck went on to claim that the subliminal message being promoted by The Coca-Cola Company was one that would result in the dilution of American culture. “And if you don’t like it, if you’re offended by it, then you’re a racist,” he added. “If you do like it, you’re for immigration, you’re for progress.”
“That’s all this is, is to divide people,” he continued." [Source]
Glen, I have some news for you; if you are offended by that Coca Cola ad you are a racist.
But this is how it's done by racists in America these days: If you question them on their racism you are the racist, and you are the one race baiting a particular issue. It's actually a brilliant way to deflect and to change the subject.
Unfortunately for them there are folks out here like yours truly, who will not change the subject, and who will not turn away when ignorance and racism is staring us in the face.
Well then! No more "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" for those FouxNews Neo-Confeterates then I Guess eh? Wankers.
ReplyDeleteCoke was trolling Americans.
ReplyDelete"Unfortunately for them there are folks out here like yours truly, who will not change the subject, and who will not turn away when ignorance and racism is staring us in the face."
Once again Wayne forgets to add the word SOME.
So here's how it should read-
"Unfortunately for them there are folks out here like yours truly, who will not change the subject, and who will not turn away when SOME ignorance and racism is staring us in the face."
Whitey's Conspiracy wants to teach the world to sing?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that what white colonialism was all about?
Well You wanna know what I think? No? I'll tell you anyway. So here goes and I know this will not be popular.
ReplyDeleteLet me just state a disclaimer that I happen to like that song, I grew up with it, and I often just break out singing it too!
First of all that sweet little girl voice? What up wit dat? No like.
Then why mix America the Beautiful with freakkin Coca Cola! I mean Coca Cola????
I don't think it should have been used for a freakin Coca Cola ad? Is nothin sacred anymore???
Then there's that sweet little girl voice Ugh! No good!
But as for dividing and all that crap, no that's crap!
The commercial was all wrong on other aspects.
I did feel divided though , thinking that a song that is almost holy to me, about my America, is used in a freakin pop soda commercial!WTF! That sucks.
I don't drink too much Coke anymore, but sometimes I still do. But a BIG BOOOOO TO THEM for that one! Take it off the air waves now!
Stfu kinkykkkon and go back to mediate with your bullshit.....over here with dribble!!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, we're told to ignore our history to just "get over it" but let a beverage company make a commercial with a diverse cast singing a song, well that's something to freak out about. It makes sense, after so many years of defining "culture" white males are finally losing their monopoly on running just about everything. I see it all the time on the job. It took a while but WMRA is coming to an end. Hell, there's even a sista on SNL.
ReplyDeletePilot, that's a great point. Unfortunately it will be lost on the trolls.

It's fine that in their world that's the biggest issue of the day but to the rest of the sane world we all know it's just a commercial with singing. I wonder if Coke is gonna keep showing it. Also wonder if it's getting play on Fox.
ReplyDeleteNot to go all Bill but these same hillbillies who now refuse to buy a beverage made here in the USofA buy all kinds of shit made in China at Walmart. Hypocrisy/double standard.
Leftists are funny. They spend their entire lives obsessing over how they can destroy America, then get all bent out shape when someone notices.
ReplyDeleteGo figure.
Field, it is very conspicuous that you have avoided talking about the O'bama / O'Reilly interview. Well, O'Reilly set the record straight tonight".
ReplyDeletebtw, there has been massive coverage of this interview except on FN. Brother Field, I am very disappointed in you.

Hi my name is Latasha, and I am in high school and doing a paper about some of my folks on FN. The characters are Desert, Granny, Field, PC and PilotX. I have been following you guys for some time now and have enjoyed what you said.
ReplyDeleteThis is my last semester doing this paper about the nature of your characters. I just about have PC and PilotX nailed down but am having trouble with Desert and Granny because they tend to go with the direction of the wind. They seem to be people pleasers. More specifically, "Field pleasers". In other words they don't seem to have an original opinion of their own.
Psychologically, is this something that has been passed down for generations that the bw has no opinion of her own and should therefore follow whatever her man says? In my study of our black history, it seems to be the case, with the exception of Focussedpurpose--who seems tto always be standing on her own independence.
I have noticed that Field has rarely, if 'ever' praised bw on his blog since the birth of FN.
In any case, I appreciate you FN regulars for helping me to do a paper on my peeps. Thanks.

You've got it covered.
All you have left for me is left-wingnut double standards.

Why don't you f*** off FP? once and for all. Take that drug addled brain somewhere else huh? Oh and DROP DEAD while you're at it!
Considering the bad teeth and obesity problems in the black community-shouldn't blacks join "the hillbillies" in refusing to buy/drink coke?
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'.
Speaking of "Hypocrisy/double standard" funny the left is defending a product they once wanted to tax out of existence.
And PilotX, isn't it hypocritical of you to criticize "the hillbillies" when they are doing what Michelle Obama and other food nazi's want? Which is to stop drinking surgery drinks?
"It's actually a brilliant way to deflect and to change the subject."
Republicans are always slow to the games you on the left play. When they catch up, they pass and beat you at your game.

Smh! Dead give away. LOL! I'm praying for you.

anyone that i have offended in the past, i pray you will find it in your heart(s) to forgive me.
particularly the somewhat miffed Anon that wishes me to see Almighty pronto;)
Thank You...i AM looking forward to it myself. this is why i don't fear leaving this realm at all.
i got QUESTIONS+ i long to see His Face!!! I AM daddy's girl by nature + intend to never lose sight of Him;) i will be right there holding His Hand, His Hem, onto His EVERY Word. LOL!
ALL PRAISE TO YAH ALMIGHTY, Sovereign of sovereigns, CREATOR of ALL, KING of Kings!
MESSIAH YAHUSHUA who Redeemed me + all who dare to Believe from the pit!
ALL Praise, Glory + Honor to Him/His Word!!!;)
see?
not a bad wish when one looks at it like that, huh?

please consider: i don't even know who you are, yet, you are seeing me where i am not.

that can't be pleasant. especially since you appear less than a fan.
there is no need for me to post Anon. what would i have to fear, when my arm is made strong by the Hand of Almighty Himself?
think about it.
I read the other day that Zimmerman has agreed to participate in the celebrity boxing matches. The Game said that he wants to fight Zimmerman and that he would beat the "F" out of him. That ought to be an interesting fight if it happens that is.
ReplyDeleteThat's strange, since Zimmerman's trainer under oath swore that Zimmerman couldn't fight and was weak. The lies they tell will come back to haunt them.
Both if they do have this celebrity fight, I hope they let Michael Jai fight Zimmerman.
may Almighty Bless, save + keep you and your whole house on all sides, in the Mighty Name of Yahushua Messiah.

not for calling foul on behavior that appeared disrespectful to the Mrs. i am a woman's woman that way. don't know Mrs. Field AT ALL. just know i would want someone like me to shut the noise down if they saw my husband appearing to need that kind of help.
it was also a heads up to you;)
didn't expect it to turn into the war that would not stop.
true story: was having sushi one day. this amazingly good looking man walks in + turns into Mr. Chatty Charles, (chatty Cathy's bro, you know?;) since i was at the sushi bar solo having a swell 'ole time.
the owner- this adorable little Asian lady- comes over and in the middle of that man's sentence- informed me that he was married.
LOL!
that mess was pure comedy.
i guess some of US just flow like that;) Ms lady gave no Scripture. just the facts and stood there;) LOL!
i AM called to give the Law. which is what i pointed your attention to...what i am not called to do is reprimand my elder. this i did, though not deliberately.
i pray you will forgive me + know it won't happen again on my end. moving forward powerfully... i AM hopeful you will help me to make our exchanges respectful at all levels. some of US REALLY do operate from a don't start none place + respect freedom of speech + strive to live in Peace. we don't have to agree. disrespect is not even an option as far as i AM concerned. it is unnecessary + UNLawful.
hopefully that covers the Law mandated apologize to my neighbor in Love tour.
if due to human flaws, i have overlooked anyone- please let me know. i will promptly right the wrong that we might move on...
Powerfully.
which happens to be my personal plan in Him/His Word.

Field,
ReplyDeleteZimmerman wants to fight Kanye West. Isn't that just like him to want to fight those he thinks are weaker than him.
I hope they ask Michael Jai White to fight Zimmerman.
Check out White's martial arts background.
http://www.michaeljaiwhite.com/martialarts.html
Yep, Michael Jai White would the ideal candidate. Him or Wesley Snipes. Even Forester Whitaker would be a good candidate. However, Michael Jai would hit the spot.
DMX wants to fight Zimmerman too. DMX is a little crazy, but he is also trained in Martial arts.
I sure hope the Justice Dept is paying attention to Zimmerman. He is flaunting it in their face that he got away with murder in little subtle ways.
ReplyDeleteZimmerman is not playing with a full deck. I said this once and I'll say it again. His parents, brother, sister, and uncle know that it's something wrong with him, but they try to cover it up and hide it. You can tell by their actions and things they said. He always had a mental problem since he was a kid. Smh!
Nevertheless, I know without a doubt that he lied, the witnesses in his behalf lied too, and his trainer definitely lied because Zimmerman knows more about martial arts than they swore he didn't.

25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of Almighty, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Messiah greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

ReplyDeleteMr Field, take it from me, you DON'T want to fight Zimmerman. He is a professional when it comes to fighting. Look what happened to TM.
Field, I really wouldn't want to see Zimmerman beat the shit out of you, or any of our black celebrities.
Let him fight a white celebrity. He will be more lenient. All Blacks should stay away from him.
Granny, Latasha has been 'following' FN since it was born. It doesn't mean that she was writing a paper since FN's inception. How do you and Field come up with these off the wall conclusions? they are totally erroneous.
It is amazing how the older residents on FN are attacking Latasha for being in school. See, that is the problem with some of our folks. Instead of encouraging our kids to stay in school, they discourage and belittle them. Granny and Field ought to be ashamed of themselves...They don't care about education .
ReplyDeleteTO LATASHA: STAY IN SCHOOL AND FINISH YOUR PAPER. IT IS A WORTHY PAPER THAT MIGHT SHED SOME IMPORTANT LIGHT ON SOME OF OUR FN RESIDENTS WITHOUT ANONS. THANK YOU.
Field, check Dictionary.com for its comments on your spelling, of "alright." At least in this country it should be two words: "all right."

A job in itself! He gives us a lively platform to air our views. An uncensored one, as per his policy.
Mr. Bennett Esq., is a very kind, fair man. Compassionate, intelligent to the nth degree, patient, forgiving, and integrally compromised for social justice for everyone. As is patently clear from the blog and writings. It is,and will always be an honor to know him and respectfully call him friend.
Of the true Anons I will say they always temper their comments with wit and grace and their intelligence is obvious and disarming. Their contributions are always creative, educative and inform about their side of current events. They compose an integral part of the Field Negro blog. Making it a great all around blog to be on and read. Hence it's popularity.
Because blogs, and forums are 'communities' albeit cyber communities. With all of the characteristics of regular communities and neighborhoods.
It is sad though, that lately you have come on here, and do not consider the man and his passion and blog Personally attacking him in the unkindest of ways.
Of course, as he says, "the world should see it all, the good, the bad and the ugly".
However, when someone comes into a blog with their own particular agenda. To deliberately and systematically, attack, disrupt, offendand degrade a blog and it's commentators. To attack everyone on it,especially Mr.Fields supporters, indiscriminately,on one level or the other.
Including mocking and making fun of their handles/names,calling them evil devils and other foul language, mentioning, degrading their family members, offending in the most vile and hostile ways. In the obvious intent of terminating the dialogue and camaraderie that exists.
Especially while doing it under the guise of "Scriptures and the Sacred" As if this vile stream of filth came directly from the Almighty channeled through them.
Using the name of the Lord in vain...something that is still of great importance to many of us. Though very obviously not to them, in the least.
That is trolling of the lowest filthiest order and level. That person can expect to be attacked by that community.
That person should examine what un-Godly needs they have that drive them to use the name of the Lord in vain, in order to cowardly, insult and disrupt a community and it's leader, from behind the safety net of a computer.
So Focused Purpose, no, I do not need or want an apology from you. What does an apology mean if you continue the obscene behavior? Nothing right? :)
If you feel the need to momentarily rectify in order to be able to then continue your abusive conduct by offering "apologies", you should do so firstly to God, for using the Scriptures and Word in vain to insult and hit people with as you please.
Then to Mr. Wayne Bennett Esq. aka, THE FIELD NEGRO.
He is the one whose blog and readers you have attacked and insulted time and again, and tried to sully, slander and terminate.
But because your heart seems to be filled with such an obsessive hatred and envy of the man, I wonder what either real or imagined deed you feel he ever did to you? That is the real question here.
Wishing for the Lord to truly guide you in all your further 'endeavors'.

Especially while doing it under the guise of "Scriptures and the Sacred" As if this vile stream of filth came directly from the Almighty channeled through them.
Using the name of the Lord in vain...something that is still of great importance to many of us. Though very obviously not to you, in the least.
That is trolling of the lowest filthiest order and level and that person can expect to be attacked by that community.
They should examine what un-Godly needs are driving them to use the name of the Lord in vain, in order to cowardly, insult and disrupt a community and it's leader, from behind the safety net of a computer.
So Focused Purpose, no, I do not need or want an apology from you. An apology means nothing if you continue the obscene behavior.
But because your heart seems to be filled with such an obsessive hatred and envy of the man. I wonder what, either real or imagined, you feel he ever did to you? That is the real question here.
Wishing for the Lord to truly guide you in all your further 'endeavors'.
Fox News robots at it again? Right after the commercial aired during the SB, someone on Twitter predicted the right wing would go insane over that ad, and that person could do that because the right wing is predictably binary.

The lyrics to 'America The Beautiful' were written by a lesbian, Katharine Lee Bates . Just thought you wing nuts should know so you can start work on getting it banned.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Trader Joe's grocery-store chain has dropped a plan to open a new store in the heart of the city's historically African-American neighborhood after activists said the development would price black residents out of the area.
ReplyDelete...
It sent the city a letter saying it would "remain opposed to any development in N/NE Portland that does not primarily benefit the Black community." It said the grocery-store development would "increase the desirability of the neighborhood," for "non-oppressed populations."
http://news.yahoo.com/trader-joe-39-drops-black-neighborhood-store-plan-224732374.html
Democrats call minority communities "food deserts" for the lack of grocery store options.
And it looks like despite companies wanting to provide a high quality of food the community doesn't want it.
I wonder if the same people would object to a black owned fast food franchise selling crap food?
Katharine Lee Bates was also a Christian Republican. Cue the leftwing hate in 3....2....
ReplyDelete--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So black democrats are against a grocery store moving into their area that would provide healthy low cost food and veggies, above minimum-wage jobs and strength the tax base?
Why? Blacks are the new segregationists. They're afraid of Mexicans taking over their hoods and kicking them out. Like what's going on in what use to be historical black areas in California.
So blacks in Portland are willing to stay poor, dumb and hungry in order to keep Mexicans out.
So much for that brown/black solidarity thing.
CBO essentially reaffirms GOP talking points on health care. Says it will cost jobs, feel as if it raises taxes and contributes to deficit

When democrats start pointing out that facts reaffirm GOP talking points you know democrats are in trouble.
The Middle Class Is Steadily Eroding. Just Ask the Business World.
ReplyDeleteIn Manhattan, the upscale clothing retailer Barneys will replace the bankrupt discounter Loehmann’s, whose Chelsea store closes in a few weeks. Across the country, Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants are struggling, while fine-dining chains like Capital Grille are thriving

Yup, middle class eateries like olive garden and red lobster are struggling, the places the rich/priviledged eat at like Capital grille are thriving.
2 classes of people.
Those that eat at Capital Grille.
And those that can't afford it.
"Democrats call minority communities "food deserts" for the lack of grocery store options."
ReplyDeleteOnly Democrats use this term? Really?
"And it looks like despite companies wanting to provide a high quality of food the community doesn't want it."
Who exactly is "the community"? Are there some individuals who want the store? Are the few people against such store the entire "community"?
I guess using rightwing simple thoughts this is just a cut and dried issue but to some there is more to this store and nuance. Nuance is lost on conservatives. Especially those with an agenda.
"Across the country, Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants are struggling"
ReplyDeleteIt may have something to do with their public stance during the 2012 election. I know I haven't eaten at either since. Reap what you sow?
"When democrats start pointing out that facts reaffirm GOP talking points you know democrats are in trouble."
ReplyDeleteNot really, once again there is more nuance to the story but dimwitted conservatives only see what they want to see.
Hmmmmmmmmmm, let's just see a few responses to Chuck Todd's tweet
ReplyDeleteJohn Kane @Tortured_Verse · 4h
@chucktodd That's a complete misrepresentation of what that report says. You're intellectually dishonest. It doesn't agree with the GOP.
John Kane @Tortured_Verse · 4h
@chucktodd Hours will be reduced "almost entirely because workers will choose to supply less labor" NOT because ACA kills jobs
Chris Yohe @yohechris · 4h
@chucktodd Chuck this is clearly not what it says. Read it! It says folks will likely CHOOSE to work less. Not the same thing! #lazy
Interesting. Did Bill read the report or just repost what Chuck Todd wrote to take a jab at the Dems? Hmmm, I don't know.

ReplyDeleteThose businesses that Hispanics owned were once owned by Whites in California. Whites sold out to the Cartel. They let their greed get the best of them. And now, the Cartel owns California.
Blacks that owned businesses still own theirs or retired or died.
Furthermore, there were not as many Blacks as whites that owned businesses in California.
When Blacks do, Uncle Sam always finds a reason to shut them down. They don't give them the same leniency, or make deals over golf games that they gave white business owners.
How do I know? I was privy to reading a whole lot of case files courtesy of Uncle Sam when I was employed by them. The differences in treatment of white and black business owners was downright shady.
Btw, no one has kicked black folks out the hood, those that are poor still live there. As for those that moved, it's called upward mobility. You do know that means don't you?

Zimmerman won't be able to take his gun in the ring. That's the only way, he'd beat a BLACK MAN.
Zimmerman only fights those that are weaker than him like women and boys. That right there ought to tell you something.
Nevertheless, Michael Jai White, Wesley Snipes, Forest Whitaker, and DMX would beat the snot out of Zimmerman.
Although, I am against DMX fighting Zimmerman not because I don't think he'd win, but because what DMX wants to do to him is a little bit too much.
Bye, I'm signing off.

"In cutting its forecast for the year earlier on Dec. 4, Darden also said that it was hit by a publicity backlash from tests intended to gauge how it could limit costs for workers' health care. Starting in 2014, big employers such as Darden will be required to provide health insurance to full-time workers. The company had tested hiring more part-time workers and replacing full-time workers who left with part-time workers in select markets to gauge how it could mitigate those costs."

"The company is cutting its outlook for its full fiscal 2013 as well, noting that the more downbeat guidance reflects the potential impact of bad publicity. In October, the company had said it was putting more workers on part-time status in a test aimed at limiting costs from President Barack Obama's health care law."

Well Bill, this doesn't look like a simple case of class stratification as you made it out to be. Looks like some of this is folks sticking their noses into politics and pissing off customers. I know for certain one of their main demographics is middle-class blah folks and he ticked alot of us off. The CBO projects that the act will reduce the supply of labor, not the availability of jobs. There's a big difference. In fact, it suggests that aggregate demand for labor (that is, the number of jobs) will increase, not decrease; but that many workers or would-be workers will be prompted by the ACA to leave the labor force, many of them voluntarily.
ReplyDeleteAs economist Dean Baker points out, this is, in fact, a beneficial effect of the law, and a sign that it will achieve an important goal. It helps "older workers with serious health conditions who are working now because this is the only way to get health insurance. And (one for the family-values crowd) many young mothers who return to work earlier than they would like because they need health insurance. This is a huge plus."
http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-mh-cbo-20140204,0,3106578.story#ixzz2sPPaVTuy
The CBO report cuts the legs out from the GOP's attack on "risk corridors," a provision of the ACA that balances costs and expenses for insurance companies participating in the act by paying insurers whose coverage expenses exceed expectations by a certain margin in the first few years of the act, and collecting excess revenues from those whose expenses come in unexpectedly lower.
ReplyDeleteWe've previously identified this GOP position as the most cynical attack on the ACA of all — the Republicans choose to call it a "bailout" of insurers; actually, it's a way of keeping premiums for some plans from getting out of hand, until the industry has more experience dealing with its new clientele. Unsurprisingly, the GOP is doubling down on this dishonesty by talking about eliminating the risk corridors as a condition for raising the federal debt limit.
The CBO, in any case, says that in 2015-2024, the government will pay out $8 billion in risk subsidies to the insurers but collect $16 billion. Real-world math says this is a gain to the Treasury of $8 billion; GOP math says it's a "bailout." You be the judge.

Let's revisit your logic...
It may have something to do with their public stance during the 2012 election.
Yet you have zero explanation why the same owner is having success at a much much higher priced restaurant, which was the point of the link.

Yes, I agree that sticking your noise in politics sometimes has negative effects.
I think you're misguided, but I respect you for not giving your money to those you don't agree with.
Why would politics only have a negative effect on the middle class restaurants but not the upper class restaurants?
I understand and can appreciate you trying to change the subject to a right-wing restaurant.
Lets get back to the subject, the article is:
The Middle Class Is Steadily Eroding. Just Ask the Business World.
Sears? JC Penny? Loehmanns?
Caused by politics?
Do you realize how much of an Obamabot you are?
I link a liberal ny times article about the middle class disappearing and you go all political about a restaurant owner.
Why is agreeing with me that the middle class is disappearing so hard for you?
Would you agree with Field Negro the middle class is disappearing?
Double standard?
"Do you realize how much of an Obamabot you are?
ReplyDeleteI link a liberal ny times article about the middle class disappearing and you go all political about a restaurant owner."
WTF does it have to do with Obama? The CEO of Darden, like Papa Joe, made stupid comments that ticked off a bunch of its customers. Simple enough for even you?
"Why is agreeing with me that the middle class is disappearing so hard for you?"
No shit Sherlock, as has been pointed out by many posters here that has been happening since the 70's. What? You need to tell us water is wet too?
"Double standard?"
No, bad example. You don't need to use an example of a high end restaurant doing well while other restaurants owned by the same owner aren't doing so hot to explain the rich are getting richer.
"I understand and can appreciate you trying to change the subject to a right-wing restaurant."
ReplyDeleteNot the point, then again most points are lost on you. The point was the restaurant chains you chose had other external factors besides the economy but your focus is blightfully narrow on most issues so what did I expect?
"Yet you have zero explanation why the same owner is having success at a much much higher priced restaurant, which was the point of the link."
ReplyDeleteOk dumbass you want an explanation? The rich are still rich and want to eat at nice places. Got it? Good. For extra credit here's more, the customers that frequent the Capital Grille usually have the same political views as the owners so there would be no middle-class backlash if he says dumb shit like he's going to reduce his workers' hours. See? I bet even you can understand that.
"While these corporate complainers have sought to explain away the hit they are experiencing at the hands of the public’s perception, one such company is facing the music straight on. Darden Restaurants, Inc.— owner of Olive Garden, Red Lobster and LongHorn Steakhouse—has lowered its profit projections for the quarter ending November 25th, acknowledging that its bad numbers are the result of poorly performing promotions, Superstorm Sandy and…wait for it…the poor publicity it engendered by its decision to test out a plan to cut back on healthcare costs by putting more workers on part-time schedules."
ReplyDeletehttp://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/12/04/papa-johns-applebees-and-others-pay-huge-price-for-anti-obamacare-politicking/
And once again with another article, the middle-class got pissed that a rich guy was cutting hours because of a political agenda. Rich people probably agree with the move and thus no backlash. Caught up yet Billy?
