The politics of fear.

Lindsey Graham believes that the next 911 type attack on our home soil will come from Iraq or Syria. I disagree.

With all due respect to the very disrespectful senator, the next 911 style attack on our home front will not come from the Middle East; it will come from home grown terrorists. (Think anti-government white supremacist groups.)

But I see why he is saying this. Better to scare the base about the Muslim bogeyman and score cheap political points than to call out groups that actually include members of your base.

Some of these folks on the right get very defensive when you focus on trying to stop these groups, but you can't blame law enforcement for being concerned.

"Remember in 2009, right at the start of the Obama era, when then-Secretary of Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano issued a report (PDF) entitled: “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”? The report was truly prescient. It alerted us to the rise of right-wing extremism, such as from white supremacist groups, and warned that unchecked, it could lead to violence.

How did Republicans respond? They went ballistic attacking the report. John Boehner was especially upset that Napolitano would use the term “terrorist” to “describe American citizens who disagree with the direction Washington Democrats are taking our nation,” adding, “using such broad-based generalizations about the American people is simply outrageous.”

Well it's not looking so "outrageous" now. It's a fact that since 911 home grown extremists have killed more people in the United States than "extremists motivated by al Qaeda's ideology".

So why did Lindsey Graham make these bold and frightening statements, now?

Well it's politics season here in America. Time to put fear in the mind of Joe Voter so that he will vote for the party who he believes can best protect him  from all the evil out there.

Sadly, by the time Joe Voter realizes that the "evil-doer" was his neighbor or his neighbor's child, it will be too late.

"Today in the United States, al Qaeda-type terrorism is the province of individuals with no real connection to foreign terrorists, aside from reading their propaganda online. Given this, it becomes harder to explain, in terms of American national security, why violence by homegrown right wing extremists receives substantially less attention than does violence by homegrown jihadist militants."

Because "right wing extremists" vote too.

Since we're keeping score-those domestic terrorist street gangs-bloods,crips, ms-13, etc. etc. have killed more people in Amerikkka than far-right wing extremists, muslim extremists combined. Thus making urban areas the most dangerous places in Amerikkka.

On this Father's day weekend, how many people in Chiraq, Oakland, Detroit, were killed by right-wing extremist?

How many were killed by urban terrorists?

Field would rather use the White bogeyman to scare the base and score cheap political points than to call out groups that actually include members of his party.

    See how that works?

it's ok when field does it...

Laughable. We're already under siege by home grown terrorists and they're denizens of the Democratic Party. Lets look at Trenton NJ, the capital of the state. At one time, the population was well over 100K but with the increasing demographic of Blacks moving in the population has fallen to about 80k. The city is now about 60% African American with a declining population. In 2013 Trenton set its homicide record for a calendar year at 37. Already the rate this year is at least 15. Of the Perps, 14 are Black and one is Hispanic. Not one YT in the bunch. Go figure. And just who owns interracial crime in this country? It's Blacks. There are almost too many instances to count. No wonder Trayvon got killed. The true terrorists in this country look just like Obama.

QLB, you are too much. You really look down on Blacks as less than human while you exalt the superiority of Whites.

I'll be the first to admit that it's depressing to be Black in America. No one wants to be Black in America unless they have to. The White homegrown terrorists are really harming very few. Although there are increasing incidents of them killing people. Those they have killed, they ALWAYS have have a reason for doing it--no matter how sick the reason.

However, it's my peeps who seem to have NO reason for harming other Blacks, other than the fact that they are Black. Now that is frightening to any black person who wants so desperately for our peeps to love and protect each other. Instead, they are acting like 'another' hate group killing us off...

It's no wonder the KKK, skinheads, and other White hate groups and Supremacists don't spend much time killing Blacks. Blacks are doing a much better job than they ever could.

Futhermore, the black community supports it by doing NOTHING and remaining silent about it. You won't read a post on FN about what Blacks are doing to other Blacks. Nope. That is reserved for White hate groups who don't begin to competer with "Black-on-Black hate groups."

There needs to be a count about Black-On-Black hate crimes. THAT'S what is most important because it impacts our community the most. THAT'S where most of the real killing terror for Blacks happen. Take a look at Chicago, Detroit, LA, Atlanta and Philadelphia and you'll see what I mean.

This metropolis, once of nearly 100K is now under 30K with a Demographic of about 98% Black. It has a murder rate of over 100 per 100K which puts it somewhere in the Mogidishu range. And somehow they worry about treasonous stupidity, whatever that is.

Oh, you mean ordinary street criminals?

Well, see, there are some key differences between the two groups of people.

    1) Street criminals are not a threat to our system of government. So, not terrorists.

    2) Street crime has been falling for decades. Far-right terrorism is rising, as a result of right-wing jackasses politically not getting their way in America anymore. Republicans lose elections, and immediately the violent tantrums start.

    3) Nobody is "under-aware" of street crime. It's just the opposite. Media massively over-hype it -- if it bleeds, it leads on most networks. Politicians never shut up about it. We can't avoid hearing about street crime.

Or scary Mooslums who want to impose Shariah law and blow stuff up.

Yet, curiously, there is little mention of the many right-wing terror groups who want to impose fascist law (or a Christian theocracy) and blow stuff up. The media don't want to touch these stories with a ten-foot pole. Reporting on this issue is conspicuously absent.

There is no such thing as black-on-black crime, there is no such thins as black-on-black homicide, there is no such thing as inter-racial violence. There is simply crime and violence.

Property crime is directly related to poverty - every 1% increase in poverty produces a 1.8% increase in property crime. Violence on the other hand is shown to be related to inequality and a lack of social cohesion.

Most of the violence in urban areas relates to the drug trade. Many young African Americans choose to work in the drug industry because it is the only industry that is recruiting in the ghettos right now.

Your government's idiotic 'War on Drugs' is actually a war on poor people.

Besides, according to facebook photos they were into the Occupy movement. Not the typical right-wing activity.

urban street gangs hustling for money

Let me shatter another left-wing myth...

Some gangs collect millions of dollars per month selling illegal drugs, trafficking weapons, operating prostitution rings, and selling stolen property. Gangs launder proceeds by investing in real estate, recording studios, motorcycle shops, and construction companies. They also operate various cash-based businesses, such as barbershops, music stores, restaurants, catering services, tattoo parlors, and strip clubs, in order to commingle drug proceeds with funds generated through legitimate commerce.

    http://www.justice.gov/archive/ndic/pubs11/13157/

The government makes it sound a little more than youths hustling for money on the street corner.

As a government lawyer no doubt you already knew that. But you wanted to minimize the urban terrorist groups you support because of your agenda.

  38. "Or maybe it's just the low IQ, lack of future time orientation and self control? Do tell."

yes, most white Americans are all those things, but I don;t see those issues as relevant.

Young African Americans are stuck in an existential hell, not of their making.

    1. Organized systemic racism was unknown before the 13th an 14th centuries. It was invented as a retroactive justification for the financial imperative of slavery.

    2. The North Atlantic Slave trade provided the seed-capital for the modern industrial revolution.

    3. So the slave trade dragged their ancestors across the Atlantic where their tireless work and endless suffering financed the modern world as we know it.

    4. The industrial revolution required a lumpen proletariat workforce, which conveniently was filled by the newly "freed" slave classes.

    5. The particular model of capitalism chosen in the USA was a model featuring a low-skills, low investment, low-wage underclass, largely filled by former slaves and recent immigrants..

    6. This model did not require an educated workforce, so there was no profit to be made in educating the proletariat above the minimum standard.

    7. As a result, African American kids went to school in grim slums that showed little interest in improving social mobility. So inadequate education lead to the ghettoisation of the underclass who had little or no chance of moving up.

    8. So African Americans are caught in a never ending cycle of destruction caused by capitalist greed and racism.

    9. The one industry that is interested in recruiting and investing in African Americans is the drugs industry. Many young African Americans justifiably see it as the one way out of the trap they are caught in.

    10. But of course criminal organisations are not interested in changing society. They are interested only in maintaining the current status quo that they already know how to exploit.

Surprise! The Vegas Cop Killers Weren't So Right-Wing After All

Every. Damn. Time. Tucked away in their backstory of anti-social behavior, an inconvenient nugget of truth about the couple responsible for killing three people, including two police officers, in Las Vegas:

While living in Lafayette, Jerad and his wife Amanda took part in last November’s “Million Mask March” – a gathering of protesters from the Occupy movement, anarchists, and hacktivists.

Nick Wertz, one of the organizers of the Lafayette march, said it attracted many people upset over a lot of issues.

“Everyone there just seem kind of like normal people. At least they were going to stick up with what they thought was right,” he said.

Surprise, surprise. After a week of blather from the leftist media about the mythical rise in "right-wing violence," it turns out the Millers were just a bit less "right-wing" than the left assumed.

That makes it the latest addition to this list:

  63. Doc, Bill just gets confused easily. He doesn't know the difference between people who fly planes and those that control them. Kinda sad in a way. Kinda makes you wonder what it is he does for a living.

Please. I know the difference. I know one is possession and one isn't. That's a simple mistake and only a petty mind would call me on it. Now someone who you should talk to who isn't simply making a mistake but who truly doesn't understand grade school grammar is your not you're boy-see got that one-Obama. He constantly misuses the tenses of verbs. I couldn't have graduated Catholic grade school with Obama and his wife's grammar. Ivy League. LOL!

OBVIOUSLY whatever it is, it doesn't:
    1) Pay more money than you make.
    2) Require people be as smart as you are.
    3) Require a degree in a subject that requires a half-brain.
