Just look at that picture. Now we know why there was a minor earthquake in the Dallas area, today. I am sure that they were just tremors being felt from that little owner's box get together.
This guy (Christie) grew up in New Jersey; is the governor of the state; and he calls himself a big (pun intended) Cowboys fan. That is both sick and pathetic. And it goes to show you what kind of character the man has. Everyone and their mama knows that if you are from North Jersey you are a Giants fan, and if you are from South Jersey you are an Eagles fan. It's that simple. You don't get to choose your team if you grew up in a state with a team or one like New Jersey. Show me one football fan who grew up in the state of Wisconsin but cheers for da Bears over the Packers. Never going to happen.
Not only is Chris Christie turning his back on his hometown teams, but he was caught trashing the fans of one of them as well.
"In a conversation witnessed by this reporter, Mr. Christie recounted his sometimes tense evening with Mr. Jones three weeks ago in the owner’s box during a game between the Cowboys and the Eagles.
“He was beside himself during the game,” Mr. Christie said of Mr. Jones. He quoted Mr. Jones as asking the governor in a nail-biting moment during the game, “What do you think? What do you think?”
“I think we are fine,” Mr. Christie, an avowed Cowboys fan, said he replied.
“When they went ahead,” Mr. Christie said of the Eagles, “it was a very stressful time in the box. Let me tell you.”
The Cowboys won, and Mr. Christie was invited back for the next game.
Still, that matchup left a searing impression on Mr. Christie. Eagles fans, many of whom can be found in the southern part of Mr. Christie’s state, raged against the governor during the game, shouting unprintable words at him in the owner’s box.
“These Philadelphia fans, they are the worst in America,” Mr. Christie was overheard saying recently.
He recalled a different kind of reception when he joined Mr. Jones on the field at a Cowboys game against the New York Giants, who play their home games in New Jersey. “I didn’t get booed,” he said. “Giant fans waved, said hello, asked for autographs, didn’t give me a hard time.”
“But these guys?” he added of Eagles fans."
I have never been prouder to be an Eagles fan.
Poetic justice would be Chris Christie getting nailed for getting favors from his new found friend in return for that billion dollar hook up in New York City.
"A new report alleges New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie advocated for one of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ business interests to land a deal with the Port Authority.
Legends Hospitality LLC, which is owned in part by the Cowboys, was granted a contract to run the observation deck at Manhattan’s One World Trade Center in 2013.
Legends Hospitality runs concessions at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium as well as the home of the New York Yankees, who also own a stake in the company.
A report in the International Business Times said Christie “personally pushed” for the deal to go through.
However, Yankees president Randy Levine — a Legends board member — told the Wall Street Journal that neither Christie nor Jones were involved in the bidding process.
“To try and tie one to the other is silly,” Levine said.
According to an April 2013 press release, both New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Christie called on the Port Authority Board of Commissioners to approve the agreement. The board went on to approve the deal.
A potential presidential candidate in 2016, Christie has come under fire for attending Cowboys games in Jones’ owners box. Some heat has come from fans who would prefer the leader of the Garden State root for a team closer to home. Others wonder whether Christie — a Dallas fan since childhood — is walking a fine line when it comes to ethics rules in New Jersey." [Source]
Yes, but Andrew Cuomo isn't being flown all over the country in Jerry's private jet, nor is he taking all expense paid trips to NFL playoff games.
I suspect that Chris Christie will survive this latest look into his less than ethical stewardship of the state of New Jersey. That's kind of how it goes in this country. The rich and powerful break the laws but always find ways to get away with it because of rich and powerful friends who control the process.
This of course is in contrast to his Cowboys, who will be going down really soon.

Dear Mr Field, I live in Cherry Hill and I too am a Cowboys fan. Obviously you missed the memo years ago when the Cowboys were considered America's favorite NFL team.
ReplyDeleteWhere have you been?
Anon8:45p I agree with you. There are Cowboy fans all up and down the East Coast, many live in Philadelphia.
ReplyDeleteI mean, who cares about the Eagles? They have been losers since the beginning of time. But the Cowboys are 'Stars'. They are a team full of life and excitement. Now that they are in the hunt, they WILL NOT fail.
Field just isn't quite there yet. But in time he will.
Field, you photo shows Chris Christie has lost some weight. He is probably getting ready to 'run' for President in 2016.
ReplyDeleteCowboys AND Eagles fan checking in here. Yeah, yeah I get the obvious "conflict" with that statement but hey, it's ALL good with me!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYisheng,
ReplyDeleteI've been reflecting deeply upon our conversation about entropy. I feel I might benefit if you knew more of my story and could provide me, in charity, some analysis. In 1727, before my plight began, on an errand of fear and superstition, I accompanied three other gentlemen to the Shoulder of Mutton Field. The graves were, for the most part, neatly kept, with borders of box, or something like it, and flowers between, and at the head of most a small wooden cross, painted black, bearing the name of the tenant. Here and there a stone had been raised. One of considerable heighth, a single narrow slab, ornamented with grotesque Gothic carvings, dominated over the rest. Near this lay the grave of Armand Poole, dead of suicide, towards which the party moved. The work of throwing out the earth was begun by the bent crooked old sexton, who lived in the abbey house beyond the great crucifix. He seemed unconcerned enough ; " but, as might well be supposed the young drummer boy was gazing intently, fascinated by horror and suspense. Before very long the coffin was rather roughly dragged out of the ground, and the grave-digger's assistant soon knocked off the lid. It was seen that the corpse had moved to one side, the jaws gaped wide open and the blub lips were moist with new blood which had trickled in a thin stream from a corner of the mouth. All unafraid the old sexton caught the body and twisted it straight. He then stakes the heart and closed the lid. We all assisted in covering over the grave again. That very evening. A terrible phantasm visited me. It was clearly the bodily form of Armand. All strength and even will to protect myself left me. And then, the terrible transformation was accomplished in me. I have not been the same since. Neither have I again encountered my maker since that night. I am at a loss to account for my current state. But I know this. No superstitious practice has power over this mystery. If anything, it was in no small way the provocative act leading to my plight. You knowledge of science, I hope, might afford me some understanding.
With much gratitude I am,
S. Germaine

Well well, besides being a front running Cowboys fan, we are now learning that by palling around with Cowboy's owner, Jerry Jones, Chris Christie might also be a crook.
Of course because of partisan politics you weren't bothered by the rezko and Obama palling around.
Again, because of partisan politics, no mention of jeffrey epstein the billionaire paedophile and clinton palling around together?
The Clinton/Epstein story is getting coverage exclusively from the British press - Fox News won't even touch it. Must be real bad for Bubba...
ReplyDeleteYears ago there used to be a giant billboard with Randal Cunningham of the Eagles as you drove in to Tampa FL. I thought that was strange as hell.
ReplyDeleteI heard a discussion about Christie on the news. It sounds like the gift from Jones is illegal, unless Jones is considered a personal friend. Once again, Christie will escape. Limpbaugh predicted on the Huffington Post that Christie wouldn't be implicated in Bridgegate, when David Wildstein came out with the weak charge that Christie knew about the bridge closing. So what? Christie listens to the news. It told me that they didn't have anything on Christie if that was the best Wildstein could do.
Christie looks really good in comparison to Jeb Bush. Jeb is a PNAC Committee member who stole an election and caused a million deaths by doing so. Jeb is the smart Bush. He's their Moe.

Confessions of a Public Defender
As long as the Boys beat the Packers I'm good with all the bandwagon jumpers. I get it though, it seems whomever won the SuperBowl when you were 10 is your team. That is usually the algorithm unless you were in Chicago in 1985 then you caught the SuperBowl Shuffle fever.
ReplyDelete"Jeb is the smart Bush. He's their Moe." Ha!
Our ex-governor has been sentenced to two years active and 2 probation for the corruption he has been convicted of. Virginia's ex-gov was allowed to not enter jail until sometimes in Feb. My thinking and past memories of the "good ole boys" says that Gov. McDonnell will not spend a day in jail.
ReplyDeleteTaking gifts and giving favors has been the norm for our politicians. They are so intertwined with the state's prosecutors that no action will be brought against them for any of their bad behaviors. Here is looking forward to next month.
The Guv had about 6 lawyers- top notch VA lawyers- versus two federal prosecutors that appeared not energized. They spent the entire post-interview praising the judge whom dispensed far, less than the sentencing guidelines called for. Another wasted boatload of money trying to convict a politician doing what they do best- use taxpayers money at their free will.
By the way, the culprit that gave our governor cars, Rolex watch, paid for the "first daughter's" wedding, trips, and really hooked up the "first lady".
Lastly the race card was used to make Governor McDonnell look like a saint. Our first and only Black Governor gave a speech- (testimony)about what a REALLY GOOD GUY this man is. He had the courtroom crying and applauding after his character speech. Another Black, Bruce Smith of NFL, Hall of Fame and VA Tech "pat you on the head" boy did his part in making the gov just a supreme example of how we should be.
Needless to say Gov. Wilder misused his term running after the ex-wife of Virginia's richest man. That his sexual exploits... but he used the State's helicopter to make his nightly "booty calls". Bro Smith looks so meant for the roll. He gets a pass from me. The only man I know that was sleep at the red light with alcohol on him and he beats the case. I sometimes wish I could have it like that. I may have fudged on MR.Hookie.
Bro.Q. gathered the data and sent in. You will be top of my notification list. Maybe you and you alone.
Damn, that's how ya'll do it in VA? We send our governors to jail for 6 years for not even getting anything. At least McDonnell got to drive a Ferrari and pimp a Rolex.
ReplyDeleteChris Christie's past his sell-by date.
ReplyDeleteHis waistline is shrinking, but so's his approval rating in New Jersey. He's mismanaged the state government into the ground, on top of being a bit of a crook. Luckily, he ran for reelection at the height of his popularity, but it's been downhill for him ever since.
His presidential hopes are pretty much toast, too. The Rich Guy Wing of the Republican Party is throwing its weight behind Jeb Bush. (Seriously, guys, another Bush?! Because it went so well the last time?)
I predict the Redneck Bigot Wing of the Party will probably want to nominate the horrible Mike Huckabee. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Ben Carson, and Rick Santorum are all too laughable even for the hatemongers.
In any event, Christie's got nowhere to go but down. In a few years, he'll probably parachute out of the public sector and into some cushy banking job where he'll vacuum up a fat salary for doing absolutely jack. (Unless, of course, he goes to jail. Still a remote possibility.)
Hooray for America.
Damn. Did Christie shoot an unarmed black teen or something? He's catching some heat.
ReplyDeleteDamn, that's how ya'll do it in VA?
ReplyDeleteWe do a lot here in VA, except for getting our own damn sports teams. We need to siphon off DC's teams, and like everything else to come out of DC, their sports teams suck. Their food sucks. Their politics suck. Their record of public safety sucks. And basketball, football, hockey, baseball and even weak-ass soccer -- all suck.
Someone tell the Jamaican from Philly, that even though they play in the meadowlands (toxic marshland was cheap) It's the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.
ReplyDeleteNew Jersey produces nothing anymore but toxic fumes and welfare cases .
As a kid growing up in Jamaica I liked the Dolphins. Why? Because we would always take trips to Miami. I could have been a loser type bandwagon jumper and stayed on the Dolphins bandwagon because of their Super Bowl and undefeated season, but I did not. I adopted the green of.my new hometown team warts and all. This is what people with character do; not jump on the bandwagon of the team that happens to be winning.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to pass that lesson along to Chris.

ReplyDeleteWhat is it about free thinking individuals who choose not to follow the norm or live on the plantation that bothers the left so?

ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, our President continues to foment a war against the nation's police forces:
A member of the Black Guerrilla Family (BGF) gang, armed with a loaded .22 caliber handgun, walked into a Baltimore police station on Tuesday in order to test its security, police said.
Baltimore police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts said the 29-year-old man walked into the Northeastern District station “fully armed and loaded with drugs on him,” The Baltimore Sun reported.
Police said the man was enlisted by BGF to test police security for allegedly betraying the gang in the past.
“He did not go in there on his free will. This person had very little option, according to his statement, which lends credibility to what a dire situation this was,” Deputy Police Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez said.
The police commissioner is ordering security changes throughout the department. Security has also been enhanced in neighboring Baltimore County, a local NBC affiliate reported.

The Branch Davidians never killed anybody. But they were suspected of having some illegal guns so the ATF set their compound on fire and burned them to death.

ReplyDelete5:10pm,
ReplyDeleteThe Field Negro's position on religion, and treatment of any particular religion, is a matter of political expedience and social agenda, nothing else. Therefore, expecting him to treat them equally is unrealistic. In fact, one should expect greater disdain from him towards any faith most closely connected in his mind with the "oppressor" he feels he is opposing by means of this blog. This would explain his harsher treatment of Christianity above and beyond his notably minor criticisms of Islam or Judaism.

ReplyDelete5:10pm,
ReplyDeleteI would not discount the Field Negro's upbringing as an influence upon his especially negative view of Christianity. Perhaps exposure to a Fundamentalist Christian church, coupled with the lack of a clearly identified father figure, and perhaps the problem of alcohol and other substance abuses within his family left him with the impression that all Christians are hypocrites. This view was likely then reinforced during his college years by one or more mentors who were professed atheists. This would be my best guess. Only the Field Negro knows the true story. So, we should respect his privacy on the matter and refrain from any personal questions.
