Another take on Rachel, and another attack on young black girls.

Image result for dolezal images  My hometown  newspaper has a  very interesting article that I want to share with you.

The Field Negro education series continues.

"As the controversy over her racial identity became a distraction for the organization, Rachel Dolezal has resigned from her job as president of the Spokane, Wash., chapter of the NAACP. She teaches college courses in Africana studies, she fights for civil rights, and she identifies as black. So what's the story here, and how did we learn about her?

This case is as much about the psychology of families of origin as it is about race, racism, and passing. Dolezal is also the biological daughter of white parents who adopted black children after Rachel and her biological brother were born. She couldn't have asked her parents any louder for their attention.

And instead of working with a family therapist, her parents - who may themselves have felt hurt by her identity choices - attempted to embarrass her publicly, insisting that her decision to live as a black woman is both ridiculous and fraudulent. Embarrassment has turned to humiliation as continuing revelations cast suspicion on the originality of Dolezal's artwork, and she has forfeited her job. What appears to remain genuine, however, is her desire to belong.

The revelation by the senior Dolezals is particularly well-timed to maximize anger and resentment from African Americans, who this year more than others have been reminded with excruciating cruelty of how vulnerable we still are to the capriciousness of state-sponsored violence. With the stunning revelations that kindergartners in sandboxes, teenagers at pool parties, shoppers at Walmart, kids with arms raised in submission or walking home "armed" with candy, and fathers selling single cigarettes on the street are all considered fair game if they have dark brown skin, this attenuated moment of despair has led to a collective insistence that black lives matter. It is also a moment to demand that our differences should never be grounds for mistreatment, much less murder.

Those differences are not nearly as dangerous as the ideology that justifies such violent and cruel responses to our existence. True, a sizable segment of African Americans has been admitted into the middle and upper classes as a direct result of the sacrifices and struggles of the civil rights movement. But others have been left to struggle over fewer jobs that pay a living wage while navigating the backlash against the gains of the 1960s, in a retrenchment of white supremacist ideology that is as dramatic as it is difficult to undermine.

But make no mistake, while the increasingly bureaucratic and underfunded government institutions that could be a way out of poverty, illness, and ignorance affect Americans of every color, the lives of African Americans and Latinos have been disproportionately narrowed. The work of the civil rights movement is far from over.

While biology reveals that race is a fiction, sociology reveals how powerful the implications are of that fiction on people's lives. Let's be clear: There's no science in race, even as it plays itself out on bodies marked by color and ancestry. This is neither to deny inherited traits and genetic predispositions of people with the same sets of recent ancestors, nor the science of measurement clarifying that groups of people are both treated differently and respond differently to their environments. But race is a concept invented to justify treating some people as things and others as owners of things. As an immoral invention, its continuing effects are toxic.

In contrast, ethnicity is about the beliefs and traditions, and the habits and customs, that spring up around us. If ever there were a time for African Americans, as an ethnic group, to reveal one of the hardest-won insights of oppression - that it is right and good to offer hospitality to those who are exiled - this is one of those times. We know what it's like to hide, and to be hidden, to ignore our own needs and to be ignored. We know what it's like to be excluded, degraded, less valued, how welcome it is to be taken in and how good it feels to extend that hand.

The ideology of white supremacy continues to play itself out in everyday degradations, whether it's a white news anchor casually using the n-word among coworkers or what have become nearly weekly fatalities of family and friends. But our mourning must not make us stingy. In the best traditions of our cultural practice, it should make us angry and creative, strategic and compassionate, insistent on justice and generous.

We're a family under stress, a family with a troubled history and a vulnerable present, but any family that includes everyone has a bright future.

Pull up a chair, Rachel. We know you've got some skeletons in the closet. Who doesn't? But at our table, everyone is welcome." [Source]

That was a very interesting take on this Dolezal situation. Black folks embracing her because we feel that she is being persecuted by folks in the majority population.

Image result for cincinnati pool police images And speaking of black folks catching it from folks in the majority population. Here is another story involving black folks and  a swimming pool that might interest you.

"The police say they were just doing their jobs—and besides, the 12-year-old attacked them. But a 911 call by a pool employee reveals concerns over race.

Krystal Dixon dropped off her kids and nieces and nephews at the Fairfield, Ohio, pool just as she’d done many times before. Not a half-hour later, the family was being rushed to the hospital after a violent altercation with local police.

The incident started so small. When one child didn’t have swimming trunks, staff demanded the family leave.

Even though Dixon, pregnant and 33, said she had a swimsuit for the child, workers at the Fairfield Aquatic Center—about 25 miles north of Cincinnati—said it was too late.

What was a minor breach of pool rules then descended into chaos: A white officer using pepper spray on black teenage girls, and one 12-year-old—Dixon’s niece—being slammed against a cop car. Her family says she has a fractured jaw and broken ribs.

Two adults were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. A 12-year-old girl was charged with assault and resisting arrest, while a 15-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The two sides paint a different picture of what happened. The family is accusing the cops of using excessive force in the incident. The police say they were just doing their jobs—and besides, the 12-year-old attacked them. But a 911 call by a pool employee reveals concerns over race." [More]

Wow, some folks really hate to see Negroes in the pool.

Relax people, that black will not come off while they are in the water.

I agree that this woman is a bit screwed up, and her family probably bears part of the blame for that. I had not heard about her adopted black siblings; this information could possibly explain her mental issues.

Some people (including a lot of black people) are worried when a white couple adopts black kids that they may treat them worse than their own kids. But maybe in this case, her parents overcompensated for this expectation and treated their black kids better than their white one(s), which caused Rachel to develop this pathologically excessive desire to be accepted by black people to the point of needing to actually be black.

Is this what happened? No way to know for sure, but it's a plausible theory, anyway.

However, I'm not sure what to make of her parents' decision to "out" her. This writer has suggested that exposing her life of deception was cruel and they should have been seeing a family therapist. But there was no real opportunity for that because things had already degenerated to the point that she'd cut her family out of her life. It's tough to say what is the right thing to do in that situation. Perhaps this was a misguided attempt to force her to make contact with them.

"Wow, some folks really hate to see Negroes in the pool."

See, this I have a bit of a problem with. There's no real evidence here that other people at that pool didn't want to have to share it with black folks.

I know everyone is primed to view the situation through that lens because there is a history in our country of segregated pools (particularly in the South). But the idea these kids were being thrown out because of their race is undermined by this statement right in the story:

"Krystal Dixon dropped off her kids and nieces and nephews at the Fairfield, Ohio, pool just as she’d done many times before."

Why assume, without evidence, that suddenly no one wanted them there, even though they'd never had any issues at this pool in the past -- as opposed to the possibility the guards were simply enforcing a rule about swimming attire?

Why not focus on the part of the story we truly know was a problem: the escalation of this extremely minor dispute into a ridiculously violent altercation that sent people to the hospital?

In so many of these situations, I do not think race relations are improved by making unfounded assumptions about the other guy's bad motives. This only amps up everyone's anger and resentment levels. In my opinion, if someone has engaged in bad behavior, it's best to focus where we have proof of a problem and not start hunting for additional things to be angry about.

I really feel like both black and white people need to find a way to turn down the heat as we work through some of these conflicts. At this point, tempers are flaring and people are becoming polarized to a degree that doesn't seem conducive to resolving anything.

"Relax people, that black will not come off while they are in the water."

Easy for you to say, you're Black. However, for white folks, it's scary and it looks bad. It destroys the safety and environment of Whites.

I'm not being racist, just speaking the truth that Blacks can't handle. Don't they have a pool in your part of the town?

I saw the entire video of this. All the woman had to do was comply with showing her ID, but imo, because she's black and it's a white police officer asking, she wanted to cause a sceen, that she doesn't need to comply as if there are special rules.

Anyway, the video shows the family mobbing the police officer and the 12 year old punching him in the back, then moving in front of him and started punching again. The officer used proper force holding her arms behind her back and moving her away from the others who also were resisting police. Putting her up against the car was so she couldn't run forward and get out of the officer's grip. The 12 year old was violent and would not control herself, so she brought it on herself

Sarah Willie-LeBreton's article... "Pull up a chair, Rachel. We know you've got some skeletons in the closet. Who doesn't? But at our table, everyone is welcome."

How absurd, speak for yourself. Of course this Sarah Willie-LeBreton woman would personally identify with the Dolezal woman. Some black and "blackish" people really make me sick. Where is the pride?

Now lets see how many black men/people, "blackish" people and all the Mandingo-deranged white women like Dolezal will get up and march for black women and young black girls who are being murdered and man handled by the popo and joe blow on a regular basis... these incidents are nothing new.

Some of these white women like Dolezal start suffering from Mandingo-deranged syndrome the minute they sex black men, she simply took hers to a higher level. I knew a black man/men were in the midst when I first read about Dolezal. These women only become black male identified not "black people" identified. These white and non-black women do not care for the betterment and safety of REAL black women and black girls while frolicking with farce empathy. They only emulate to infiltrate, Dolezal is not my "sister" so who cares about her self inflicted public backlash.

No wonder her black husband probably left, the po black man signed up for a white women, and she flipped the script trying to morph into the very thing he detest.

Field, I stand by my previous statement on you "blackish" thread. I will repost....

"...racial encounters and racial experiences are still greatly perceived based on visual appearances. I don't care what she claimed to be, she still looked racially ambiguous, in my opinion. Therefore in essence, how can she still claim to have true experiences being a "black" woman during those times [while pretending to be black] in comparison to the [real experiences of the] average black and black biracial woman?"

Yes, Larry Wilmore said it best last week in his commentary on the McKinney pool incident declared his rule of pool safety for black people, "don't go to the pool". Typically some white people got out of the pool when a black person dipped in, and now they just call the police.

The Rachel Dolezal story does come at when Americans have not dealt with its past about race. It's not the past as it's still present in the present. Historian Blair L. M. Kelley wrote about, “the 'one-drop' rule, in the Washington Post. Codified during Jim Crow, stating that any person with African American descent in the family is African American and having light skin makes no difference. The concept of race is a social construct created to protect whiteness, and the construct hasn't been challenged or changed. It's only now with Rachel has this being brought to the surface, and it's uncomfortable as it means questioning this construct. If people are no longer beholden to the "one-drop rule", does it mean that people can identify with any group?

I have had a conversation with an older black person who threw that rule in my face as we were discussing President Obama's family tree. A younger generation is more comfortable using the term multi-racial while an older generation don't have that comfortability. We are talking about a change of thought that has existed longer than any of us have been alive. Changing a mindset is hard.

Walter White, President of the NAACP in 30s who had blonde hair and blue eyes identified himself as black when could have easily assimilated into white culture. In fact, used his outer appearance to his advantage to go undercover to investigate the KKK and other white supremacist groups.

Rachel has us to talking and may have one up Caitlyn in the identity department. My curiosity has preceded a need for me to opine. Will society consider and re-examine its idea about race? I don't know the answer to that question, but it is a question to ask. I'm fascinated.

Really, though? Black penis turned her into a full-time negro impersonator, for an entire decade? (And she's still claiming she's really black, despite everyone's realization that she isn't!) I don't think so. Her mental problems run way deeper than that.

If a black man promises you he will sex you until you lose your mind, I think it's pretty safe to say he does not mean it literally.

What does that say about blacks?

Black folks are embracing Rachel Dolezal because they feel she has rejected what blacks hate the most-white society.Rachel Dolezal also knows how to victimize herself. (Read the hate letters she wrote to herself, or the many false police reports she filed).

Once Rachel Dolezal loses her black privilege, it won't be long before she packs her bags and moves back to whitesville. Blacks will once again show how gullible they are when it comes to embracing anything that goes against what they hate the most.

"Wow, some folks really hate to see Negroes in the pool."

Some folks really hate people who have no respect for their fellow humans, the rules, the police.

People who think their privilege excludes them from the human race.

That's what some folks hate. This is another example of blacks thinking their black privilege allows them to act without consequences.

Because about 95% of your posts are easily debunked lies you're regurgitating from Breibart or Redstate or WorldNet or some other fantasyland conservative propaganda site?

Because 100% of them are boring?

Yet, the majority of terrorism in this country and around the world doesn't come from white males or people who watch Fox News.

And it was withdrawn because the splc or anyone in the Obama Adminstration couldn't back the report up with FACT.

If Roof was black, race would have never been mention. Blacks and white libs would be warning against rushing to judgement. The NAACP, black and white libs would defend him to the death.

If was a Muslim, the left/liberal media would deny hate played a role and anything different would be consider isomorphic.

But since he is white, rushing to judge, convict and sentence to death is a must.

Excuse me while i gag on the hypocrisy.

Because the little racist isn't sporting one of those "don't tread on me" flags, this proves he's not a wingnut?

    FAIL

Here's his statement to the people at the church before he shot them?

"I have to do it. You rape our women and you're taking over our country. And you have to go."

Where have I heard something similar? Oh, I know where! It was from this nice white lady at the (where else?) South Carolina Freedom Summit from about a month ago:

"People are comin' in this country across the borders like rats and roaches in the wood pile. We've got a state like Minnesota that says it's not our business to check 'em out, we just register 'em. We've got to get control."

Also kinda sounds like now GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump with his "Mexico is sending drug dealers and rapists" comment from about five minutes ago.

Why does it seem that about half of the Republican Party's activities revolve around fending off scary, criminal non-white people?

A shitload of terrorism comes from right-wing violence in this country. We simply don't call it terrorism, so it slips under the radar and "doesn't count." It wouldn't be all that unreasonable to reclassify most hate crimes in this country as terrorism, because it is usually politically motivated violence. That's a ton of death and destruction right there, dude.

And that report was withdrawn because conservatives threw a temper tantrum at having the noxiousness of their movement accurately catalogued, and threatened to defund the Department of Homeland Security.

  64. Uncle Renaldo,

I don't know what planet you normally exist on but we all knew immediately that the NYPD cop killer was black. And the righties were trying to blame his actions on Obama and Holder. Just like they are trying to claim that the President created the "climate" that caused Roof to act violently toward blacks. Roof shouted before he slaughtered nine innocent people "I have to do this. You are raping our women and taking over our country". He sounds just like a Tea Partier to me.

Depends how you choose to define terrorism.

The Allies illegal invasion of Iraq was clearly an act of terrorism.

I screwed the pooch on this one!

Too busy multitasking to give trolling your blog the proper amount of time. Trying to reschedule a meeting cancelled this morning because Obama needed to do some more fundraising in Beverly Hills and streets were closed. And tomorrow Hillary needs more $$, more streets closed.
