Donald Trump's imaginary cheering Jersey Muslims.

"Donald Trump claims that "thousands" of people in New Jersey were "cheering" amid the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on US soil.

In an interview on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, Trump doubled down on his assertion that he saw people in New Jersey — where the real-estate mogul claims there are "large Arab populations" — cheering as the World Trade Center came down.

"There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down," Trump said on Sunday. "I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it, but there were people cheering as that building came down — as those buildings came down. And that tells you something. It was well-covered at the time."

Trump first made the claim at a Birmingham, Alabama, rally on Saturday.
"I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down, and I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down,” he said.

As The New York Times reported, it's unclear to what Trump was referring. Images were broadcast of cheering in Middle Eastern countries, but local officials had to dispute a prevalent internet rumor that Muslims were cheering in Paterson, New Jersey." [Source]

So how can a leading candidate to be the president of these divided state of America just tell a bold face lie on national television and think that he can get away with it?

Because he is Donald Trump, and Americans, in this political season, do not care about the truth. Just look at some of the whoppers that the other leading republican candidate for president has told.

And yes, what Trump said was a lie. And the sad thing is he knew it was a lie.

This is what fact checkers, Politifact, had to say said about Trump's claim:

"Trump said he "watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering" as the World Trade Center collapsed.

This defies basic logic. If thousands and thousands of people were celebrating the 9/11 attacks on American soil, many people beyond Trump would remember it. And in the 21st century, there would be video or visual evidence.

Instead, all we found were a couple of news articles that described rumors of celebrations that were either debunked or unproven.Trump’s recollection of events in New Jersey in the hours after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks flies in the face of all the evidence we could find. We rate this statement Pants on Fire." [Source]

His pants might be on fire, but his supporters are right by his side to put it out.

Sounds like the Field Negro, who feeds his peeps lies every day to keep them on the plantation.

With you, everything is bullshit, even this latest Think Progress/Media Matters/Politifact leftist cut and paste job.

And lots of Muslims cheered when the trade center came down. You probably did too, at least in private.

Someday, a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets.

It's just amazing to me that people can bring themselves to support Trump.

Clearly, he's appealing to the racism of a certain number of folks , but even so, you'd think even those people would be bothered by the absurdity and vacuity of his statements.

When questioned about literally any policy, his answer is usually either a blatantly obvious lie, like this one, or some impossibly vague, nebulous answer.

"Mr. Trump, if elected, what will be your policy on [blank]"

"Oh, I'll be the toughest on [blank] you've ever seen. I'll be so [blank] it'll make your head spin. It'll be Yuuuuge."

"Mr. Trump, can you provide some more specifics on how you intend to actually implement ..."

"Listen, you liberal media types are never satisfied with anything, with all your bias and your political correctness. I've got an important rally to get to. Lots of Mexicans will be there. They love me. The blacks, too."

Exactly how fucking dumb does a person have to be to take any of these cartoonish antics seriously? GOP voters are badly "underceding" my already extremely low expectations about their level of intelligence.

"And yes, what Trump said was a lie. And the sad thing is he knew it was a lie."

I was living in Chicago at the time the World Trade Centers came tumbling down. And yes, there were some cheering at their demise. I remember it quite well.

I also remember Bin Laden announcing that the American Infidels were scared out of their wits.

In addition, Americans were asking, "Why do they hate us?"

For a brief period, Americans were going to book stores and libraries to gain a better understanding of Islam, Muslims and the Middle East. That interest lasted for about 2 weeks, which about the attention span of American society.

Remember? So I hold nothing against Trump, even if he is lying. But who really knows? The MSM have hidden and withheld the truth so much in the interest of PC, one would be better off believing Trump because he doesn't lie as much.

Trump now seems to be in a "who can tell more preposterous Islamophobic lies" competition with that Fox News dunce who claimed all of Birmingham, UK, was now a scary Sharia "No-Go Zone" for non-Muslims.

That's a lie. It's fucking Syria, there are no records to check. And our PC process forbids asking them about their religious or political affiliations. Someone could be a member of Hezbollah or some radical sect and - even if they were dumb enough to admit it - we can't even ask them. Obama wants stricter background checks for American gun owners than he does for Syria refugees.

His disdain for our concerns for the safety of our families is palpable. At a time when the American people are scared, when we need reassurance, he mocks us, he talks down to us, he divides us.

He is the worst leader this country has ever had.

I remember my buddy Joey telling me, "Hey, man, those Habibs down at BP are fucking celebrating these terrorists!" But fuck if I knew what was going on. I kinda just went, "Yea? Shit." Maybe they were; probably they weren't.

I was gonna say, "O/U "Islamaphobia" drops in this tread: 10. I got the over." But since I'm staring at PX saying it, that's not a way to set odds. Hindsight bias is a Steve play.

But LOL @ the smear anyway. Just invent words and labels and ascribe them to folks.

"Americans, in this political season, do not care about the truth."

Just because one is partisan doesn't mean one has to remain that steadfastly partisan every waking moment. Do you dream free? At what time in the history of American democracy, no matter which party, did people care about the truth? If ever there was a time when people did vote for truth and not for selfish reasons, I sure as fuck wasn't born yet.

Obama was the squeaky clean candidate to never lie? Shit, even his Senatorial race was marred with his opponents' private divorce records mysteriously and conveniently becoming unsealed and paving a path for him to win. Talk about dirty Jersey! How many times was that brought up in '08? I don't even think Fox bothered. lol They were stuck on that fucking maniac Wright and Bill Ayers (and, let's be honest: no Obama fan cared about the truth of those situations. They believed the liberal line, called the conservative line a lie. Such is politics, such is life).

You're a progressive and loathe Republicans; the obvious is obvious. But don't patronize everyone, for fuck's sake.

Partisans have as much respect for the truth as Ted Bundy had for women. "Truth" is whatever is politically advantageous -- a forced version of natural selection through which the process strengthens a political position.

anon9:38PM, thanks for your comment re: Muslims cheering the demise of World Trade Center and the deaths of over 3000 Americans. When I read your post, I wanted to chime in and say, "Me too. I saw people cheering too....I think Trump was telling the truth."

But I didn't because I am allergic to being attacked by Field and all the PC progressives. However, after hearing Ben Carson 'also' say he saw them cheering also, I want to stand up and be counted in the name of truth.

The problem in America is that there are many Americans such as myself who are afraid to speak up...the silent majority.

When you think about it, there was no way that there 'weren't' any cheering. I mean, this is America and you 'will' get opposing reactions. After all, America is a melting pot of different people from different countries.

If I were a Muslim-and I want to make it clear that I am not-I would very much relate to the plight of Muslims in the Middle East much like Jews in America cheer what Israel does to Palestinians on the Gaza strip.

Of course, out of respect to Mr Field, Trump might be lying but in this case I don't think so.
