It's because of this:
"Donald Trump, the actual Republican candidate for president, now endorsed by his party leaders, openly said he wants to exclude someone from a government job because of his race and ethnicity.
As the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, Trump said he wants to disqualify the federal judge overseeing the Trump University case because of his "Mexican heritage" and membership in a Latino lawyers association:
Mr. Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had "an absolute conflict" in presiding over the litigation given that he was "of Mexican heritage" and a member of a Latino lawyers' association. Mr. Trump said the background of the judge, who was born in Indiana to Mexican immigrants, was relevant because of his campaign stance against illegal immigration and his pledge to seal the southern U.S. border. "I'm building a wall. It's an inherent conflict of interest," Mr. Trump said. This is pure racism. There's no subtlety, no dog whistle, no coded language.
Somehow this isn't too surprising. Trump is, after all, the presidential candidate who launched his campaign by calling Mexican immigrants criminals and "rapists," and he proposed banning all Muslims from entering the US.
And with this latest remark, Trump is just turning the thinly veiled subtext into text. He had already previously brought up Curiel's Mexican heritage, suggesting that there was a conflict of interest because of it but not saying it quite so explicitly.
Reading this, it's hard for me, a Hispanic American, to avoid feeling a little personally insulted. This suggests that Trump would probably dismiss my opinion — indeed, this article — because of my name. Yet millions of Americans — and a major political party — want him to be president, despite his clear racism.
Don't worry Donald, you will always own this guy.

How else can you get the angry white male vote? The gop made the calculation that they were going for the white vote this year. Either that or The Donald doesn't really want to win a la Richard Pryor in Brewster's Millions.
ReplyDeleteThe real question is When do Mexicans become Americans?
ReplyDeleteIs is when they step out of the Rio Grande on a moonless night? Many who were even born here are out waving Mexican flags and burning American flags on our streets. These people obviously don't see themselves as immigrants to the country, but as conquerors of it.
As far as this Judge Curiel goes, the issue is not his ethnicity but his association with an ethnically-based group called La Raza (The Race), kind of a KKK for Hispanics. The author you pasted feigns ignorance of this fact and cries "racism!" when in fact Trump is calling out this Judge for his own voluntary membership in an overtly racist group.
Stop the lies Field, you know better.
It's amazing how many activists there are posing as journalists.
ReplyDeleteSure, it's fully racist, that's just Trump's MO, but mostly it's stupid, maybe one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. It boils down to any judge who he has insulted must recuse themselves. Sorry, Donald, but one reason they refer to judges as "your honor" (aside from local rules and tradition) is that they hold power over your case and you want them to think well of you, or at least not give them reason to wish you ill. All in all, just another example of how far out of his depth he is concerning the workings of the government he is trying to lead.

ReplyDeleteEven judges that are in the Klan? At some point, don't you think you have to stand up to racists in power like Judge Curiel?
Harry Reid on the floor of the Senate, July 8, 2014:

People are going to have to walk down here and vote.”
"Mr. Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had "an absolute conflict" in presiding over the litigation given that he was "of Mexican heritage" and a member of a Latino lawyers' association."
ReplyDeleteShouldn't Trump's stance also bar him from becoming president, since his presidency will be "an absolute conflict in presiding over" a country with such a large Mexican population?
Try as he might, whites will still be a minority come 2044. Neither a Trump's presidency, nor his wall, will stop that inevitability.

ReplyDeleteYou mean like incest, bland food, and shitty dance moves? Yeah, thanks for those.
Anon @11:31: So let me get this straight; Donald Trump is standing up against racism? Judge Curiel is a racist? I don't know what you're high on, but maybe you might want to lower the dose or something.
ReplyDeleteI don't know all that much about Judge Curiel, but I do know that as a prosecutor in Southern California, the Mexican drug cartel he was prosecuting repeatedly called for his assassination. So, unlike Donald, it sounds as if he can do his job without regard for the ethnicity of the defendants.
And seriously, Donald Trump doesn't give two hairs on a rat's furry ass about Judge Curiel's heritage: this is just another Shiny Trump Object for the media, in the hopes it will distract them from the blunt force trauma of Hillary's speech in San Diego. The fact that he is such an utter sleazeball that he ran a scam on poor, old, and disabled people in the middle of the recession and milked them for the entire limit on their credit cards is just part and parcel to who he is. And this being so early in the general election, it won't be either unusual or outstanding in its dishonesty or douchebaggery once the opposition research has had its way with him.
And don't even try to equate La Raza with the KKK. I live in Oakland, and La Raza runs health clinics for poor people of any ethnicity in the Fruitvale district, and they don't go around lynching people, no matter what the voices in your head are telling you.
-Doug in Oakland
Multiculturalism for many migrants is a euphemism for slave labour. The goal is to make us all slaves.
ReplyDelete"Anon @11:31: So let me get this straight; Donald Trump is standing up against racism? Judge Curiel is a racist?"
ReplyDeleteYes. An organization that only provides assistance to people based on race is racist, right? An organization that calls for the violent conquest of the the American southwest based on the idea that people from other races have no right to live there would be racist, right?
The KKK picks up trash on the highway. Does that make them cool with you? The Klan hasn't lynched anyone in generations, and has about 12 members while hundreds of thousands of La Raza members are rioting and beating up Americans in the streets today.
La Raza is racist organization, and Trump is right to call out a federal Judge who openly belongs to a racist organization.
If Judge Curiel's race was irrelevant why did he join an organization called The Race?
ReplyDeleteEveryone can see what's going on.
ReplyDeleteLa Raza attacks Americans while La Raza-affiliated authorities do nothing.
Trump wins again.
Thoughts on Hillary? Been a tough week for her... Is this the DNC laying the ground-work for a replacement? When even CNN turns on her, I have to wonder.
ReplyDeleteIf they bail on her, does Wall Street think Bernie is weak enough and/or clueless enough to get steam-rolled by their puppets in Congress, or do they try and send in Biden to save the day?
Icing out Bernie would alienate a lot of his die-hard supporters, but I think that's a rather thin demographic compared to turn-out in a presidential general election. I think the rest of the fringe agitators would fall in line behind anyone the DNC puts up, as would any SWPL types older than 30. Throw in a little of the voting fraud that they've gotten used to pulling off after two Obama elections, and they could keep OH-MI-PA-VA, which would be enough to win Nov.

Most notable citing Judge Curiel's ability to adhere to the spirit of the law is...
"While Curiel has allowed the case to proceed to trial, he has granted Trump some partial victories along the way on the size and scope of the cases. And instead of letting the trial unfold alongside Trump’s bid for the White House, Curiel delayed its start until after the election."
re: When do Americans become Mexicans?
ReplyDeleteYou know, that's really a good question, although 'when do Mexicans become Americans' might be the core issue.
Growing up in a southwestern ranching area, we had a cohort of 'Mexicans' in my hometown (along with Mormons, the other recognizable minority). Typically, their families had been there for 100 or so years, and, most importantly, they had completely assimilated with the rest of the community. Catholicism was the only defining attribute there.
I'll throw a few guesses out, although they might be incorrect.
. Foreign people will assimilate if they enter a community in small enough numbers over time. In larger numbers, it takes longer to occur. At some point, it becomes permanent displacement.
. Having a common enemy makes a huge difference. Although not alive in the 1800's, I'd strongly guess that having to deal with the various flavors of indigenous people caused the new settlers, Anglo and Mexican alike, to draw together. Tribal groups like the Apache were no joke and serious as a heart attack.
. You can tell to what degree assimilation occurs by language and accent. In my youth, the local people with a Mexican background had no detectable accent. This strikes me as a measurable and fairly certain metric for the homogeneity of a population. There's a reason that the locals in New Guinea speak hundreds of languages and have such a violent inter-tribal dynamic.
I think by calling attention to the judge's ethnicity Trump is merely using a strategy of deflecting attention from the lawsuits themselves, and it's paying off. After all being called a racist is something that apparently hasn't bothered his poll numbers, but being called a sleazy con artist every day just might.
ReplyDeleteThis guy is hugely talented--he understands the media better than any candidate ever has. We'll see whether it's all that's needed to win the prize.
But nobody's used the Orange One's logic against him. After all, if "many, I'm sure, are good people" and "I love the Mexican people" can be taken at face vslue, and were heard by the judge just as by all of us, what has Donald to fear? The judge knows--as we do!--that Donald doesn't disdain Mexicans per se, so where's the conflict of interest? Why on earth should he recuse himself?
O, the convolutions, o the contradictions. But each sound bite should be taken separately, and no logic need be invoked! That's the way of the press, after all.
"O, the convolutions, o the contradictions"
ReplyDeleteNo contradictions. Trump loves Mexicans who come here because they want to be Americans. People who speak English, obey the law, work for a living, support their kids, celbrate the Fourth of July, and leave their Mexican flags in Mexico. Come here legally and be a good neighbor, and you are welcome.
Trump hates Mexicans who come here for government benefits and to commit crimes and who retain a Mexican identity because they want to colonize, not assimilate. They want the material benefits of living in a multi-racial, white-majority America while retaining a race-based identity separate from and antagonistic to the host society. Such people, like Judge Curiel, often join race-based organizations that promote ethnic interests over national interests. Sneak in, put your hand out, and threaten people who want order and you need to GTFO of here.
You don't get it, Anonymous @ 10:37. If (as we agree) "Trump loves Mexicans..." and is on the record about it, why should the judge recuse himself? Because "such people, like Judge Curiel, often join race-based organizations?" "Often?" And even if the judge had joined such an organization, does that mean he wouldn't support a "wall" (albeit impossible to build, sustain, etc.) banning illegals? And why wouldn't he be against "rapists" and "murderers" every bit as much as gringos are against them?
ReplyDeleteBut you may not be able to follow this logic. Trump apologists are "often" irrational.
"So you are saying the country is going to shit no matter what?"
ReplyDeleteYes. It means America will no longer be a First World country in a generation.
anotherbozo said...
ReplyDelete"You don't get it, Anonymous @ 10:37. If (as we agree) "Trump loves Mexicans..." and is on the record about it, why should the judge recuse himself?"
Because he is a member of La Raza, a racist group whose goals are fundamentally at odds with American values.
Trump is an outspoken critic of racist immigration policy and has publicly stated positions that are diametrically opposed to La Raza's racist agenda.
Judge Curiel is an open proponent of that racist agenda. Therefore he would have personal interests that would influence his ability to adjudicate this case in a neutral manner.
How hard is that to understand?
@anonymous 11:37:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf/2016/06/03/dishonest-attempt-associate-gonzalo-curiel-la-raza/
How hard are they to differentiate?
The Left, in power, must pretend to contend against some great, imagined enemy, which it naturally models on itself.
ReplyDeleteTherefore they project their racism on Trump, who advocates equality before the law and fair treatment of all American citizens, when in fact it their racism that drives the project to change America's demographics and to beat people on the street because of their race.
Your positions are indefensible based on logic or common decency. The only thing that justifies them in your mind is a fanatical hatred of whites.
Seeing as to how everybody on this soil is from someplace else, the question should be "When do Americans become Americans? If your of some other ethnicity and you're born in China and Japan are you Chinese and Japanese??
ReplyDeleteWhen are people going to stop LYING about what they TRULY ARE and where they truly ORIGINATE? Most people here are IMMIGRANTS.
What is America but a place named after Italian Explorer Amerigo Vespucci?
The Original Occupants of this country wishes emphatically that EVERYBODY would return to their original homes. When that happens, the TRUE NATIVES will jump for joy. Maybe they'll re-name the place TURTLE ISLAND. Then THEY'LL BUILD A WALL with plenty of HELP.
"Most people here are IMMIGRANTS."
ReplyDeleteThis is facetious.
Every human on the planet has ancestors that lived somewhere else at some point.
America actually is a real country, with its own culture and values that are based to a large extent on its demographic history. It has been largely an Anglo-dominated white country, with significant cultural contributions from the African population that has been here for 300 years. It wasn't perfect, but it was head and shoulders above nearly anywhere else.
Change those demographics and you change America.
The America that was created by a 90% European population was the most free, most prosperous, most technologically advanced, and most powerful nation on earth. We defeated fascism and communism, freed the globe of the most lethal communicable diseases, fed the world, went to the moon, and created the internet.
The globalist elites have decided to change that. What the new America will be remains to be seen, but one can be reasonably sure that it will be less like the old America and more like the cultures from which the replacement populations are being imported.
You may be applauding this change, but then again you probably haven't been to the slums of Mexico City, Shanghai, Lahore, or Lagos.
National Council of La Raza was founded in 1968, and was an anti-white, hard left, Cultural Marxist cancer from day one.
ReplyDeleteWhere did that dumb bitch focusedpurpose ever go? Did she die? One can only hope.
ReplyDeleteA lot of Republicans are pissed because Republicans are supposed to keep their racism confined to dog whistles and comments sections. Trump is breaking the rules.

Blacks get to spout their racism 24/7.
ReplyDeleteThe same rules apply to everyone now. Get with the program.
Would a white cop who kills a black kid want a white judge or a black judge? What if a klansman had a business that was being sued for a reason unrelated to racism. Would he have a better chance with a black judge or a white judge? I believe the judge in Trump's case is a first generation American. Chicanos are Americans and they go to Trump rallies to beat up Trump supporters. THe judge very well could be prejudiced against Trump because Trump is racist against Mexicans.

I find Trump's speech about "my African-American" to be deeply symbolic. Did anyone notice the "Trump" sign falling off his lectern as he spoke?
ReplyDeleteI see this as a metaphor for the quality of his campaign. This might be the moment at which the wheels began to fall off the Trump train.
Dude is being hit by federal prosecutors with lawsuits for his con artistry. The press is calling him out for promising veterans money and then shafting them. Donald is pitching temper tantrums and furiously promising to take revenge on everybody once he's elected Emperor of the Universe. Of course he is.
Then there are all the stories emerging of the utter chaos and incompetence of the Trump campaign organization. Nobody knows what the hell they are doing (because no reputable political will work for Trump; they are all "outsiders," i.e. boobs). Staff all hate one another's guts and are on the verge of shanking each other like convicts in the prison yard.

ReplyDeleteThat's a really good point, and true.
You especially notice it in any news article covering the frisky hijinks of inner city youth.
My guess is that the anonymity of blogs and news forums allows one of the few outlets for a growing tide of attitude. 'Noticing' has become a crime in the official public eye and all that's left is shouting from the crowd. I fully admit that complaining about bad behavior emanating from identifiable subgroups could be done in a more polite fashion.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. In not too many years, I'd expect the internet to get locked down so far as picking on protected groups is concerned.
And yes, The Man can be a pain in the ass too. Just because Monsanto and LAPD sometimes act in a poor fashion is not a good excuse for bad behavior by anyone else.
Butt Trumpet does not want to be president, never did, and now his only exit strategy is to throw the election. Even his sloppy seconds Noot, Benny The Brain, are turning on him. Butt Trumpet's revenge, if elected will resign and let VP Squeaky Palin take over. You can't make this shit up.

Sonia Sotomayor
