Gretchen takes down Roger.

Image result for roger ailes images     So Roger Ailes, the Jabba the Hutt look alike who created FOX NEWS into a money making right-wingnut echo-chamber, is stepping down.  The alleged serial sexual harasser was, in the end, brought down by one of the blondes that he liked to trot out (skirt raised) for his melanin challenged  AARP and octogenarian viewers to see.

I hate to give Gretchen Carlson a profile in courage award, because for years she went along to get along while she cashed the checks. That is, of course, until FOX ( and Roger) thought that it was time for her to move on.

But it takes all kinds. I guess it's better late than never. I suspect that the only people who will miss Ailes are the men and the blondes with no talent over at FOX.

The irony in all this, of course, is that Aisles is stepping down on the night that the FOX NEWS created candidate- who leads what was formerly the republican party (now known as the American Nationalist Party) is going to give his coronation speech and reintroduce himself to the American people.

The Donald has had quite a ride, and he has FOX (and the FOX light folks in the main stream media) to thank for it. Ailes figured it was best to blow up the republican party and give the FOX viewers what they really want: Someone who shares their fears and their prejudices and who is unapologetic about his bigotry. The republicans were better than the democrats, but the "establishment republicans" just didn't get it. These new republicans  wanted a revolution in Washington and they wanted the bums thrown out. It was a revolution, by the way, that took hold in their minds after the election of the first president of color.

Now they can see a little light at the end of the tunnel, the orange haired one just might win this thing. A trump presidency with a sympathetic FOX News working their propaganda magic on the American people. Wet dreams all around.

Sadly for Roger, he might not be around to enjoy it.

I remember after the GOP lost one presidential election, Ailes instructed his propagandists to tone it down. He realized that Fox had driven the wingnuts too crazy and extreme for the Republicans to win a presidential election. You might call it Ai8loe's Frankenstein monster. Charles Krauthammer called it "the alternate reality Fox creates for its viewers".

My last post in the previous blog was late in the comments and after Ailes' resignation was announced. It is mor on topic here, so I'll copy and paste it in.

It will be interesting to see how Fox News changes after Ailes. Murdoch's kids were reported embarrassed by the network under Ailes. Also, Donald Trump negotiated the severance package for a long time Ailes PR guy, so Fox News coverage of Trump won't be effected by Trump having dirt Trump on Ailes anymore. I don't expect a massive brand change though. They'll probably just tone it down some.

You'd think you could get the truth about Hillary on Fox News, and the truth about Trump on MSNBC, but you can't. They both lie. And they both want war. I've found myself turning to Fox from MSNBC sooner and more frequently lately. It is apparent to me that the Comcast execs have clamped down on the MSNBC hosts more. Fox has always been more tolerant of opposing views, but they used to micromanage their talking points more. It used to be that if they didn't agree with something the execs wanted them to say, they could just not talk about the topic. Your show would get promoted like Maddow's and Matthew's do, but you wouldn't loos your job over it. You never saw Ed Schultz even come close to covering anything like this when he was at MSNBC:

  2. Why w3ould they change? They're a two billion dollar a year business, and big money don't like change. Their propaganda may say Trump, but their accountants all say Hillary.

  6. You mean for being right that it was a bad idea to fill your party up with bigots and racists for fifty years? Or for being denigrated as traitors and surrender monkeys the whole time for our trouble? Or maybe for failing to live up to your dirty hippy strawman nemesis bullshit as effectively as you needed in order to blame all your problems on someone besides yourself? We didn't vote for him, full stop.

  7. OT but I heard some sad stuff on the radio today. Just like we have to deal with trolls here someone relayed a story about a group of blah ham radio operators who started a group in the 70's I think and are all 70-90 years old and now have to deal with racists who call them the n-word ect. every night when they get together over the airwaves. That's a damn shame but I guess it doesn't surprise me. Some people are just assholes. Brothas can't even share a fucking hobby without some racist fuck messing it up.

GOP voter outreach to blacks is not about winning black votes - it's about convincing suburban white women that we're not mean racists. Blacks have not responded to any of the GOP appeals of the past 30 years. If blacks are ever going to identify with the Republican agenda, it will have to be one voter at a time realizing their interests don't depend on their color as much as they do on who they are and what they want to make of their lives.

Still today the majority of blacks are incapable of walking off the Democrat plantation - but there are a great many who are. There are a surprising number of blacks who are responding to Trump's message that their lives matter more than any random foreigner who wants to come here, that defending their jobs is more important that defending corporate profits. Black men see in Trump someone who will offer relief from Hillary's pursuit of a feminist agenda that has radically diminished their life prospects and kicked them out of the black family.

There is a great realignment going on in American politics, but it is just the beginning. Hillary, despite her scandals, crimes, and a well-documented history of cynicaly manipulating black suffering, will still probably get close to 90% of the black vote. But things are changing, and a lot of folks of all colors are starting to get the message.

Trump still has to overcome the animus of both the liberal and conservative media and a huge fundraising deficit compared to the candidate of Wall Street, but the basic narrative of the each campaign's message - "Put American's First" versus "Learn to Live With Corruption" - is going to be hard to beat.

Ah, yes.  Soon-to-be-Ex-Pilot heard something on talk radio (second hand) about some alleged incident on ham radio (another one or two levels of remove right there) where White people used mean names for Black people.

No station, no name of show, no date/time, no name of caller, no nothing.

And he thinks this is "a story" and gives NOTHING to check.

This is another example of the total failure of Blacks when challenged with logic and reason.  If there is the slightest bit of emotional loading, they cannot do it.  They go straight to tribal loyalty.  This is utterly incompatible with civilization.

No mention of the n-word in the story.

Not random "racists", just some weird "mentally disturbed" dude who spends all his time harassing people of all types with his radio.

Like I said, your race-persecution fantasy never happened.
