The reality show cabinet is still taking shape.

Image result for rick perry dancing with stars imagesHey, did you hear the joke about the guy who was appointed to be secretary of the Department of Energy but couldn't even remember the name of his new department when he wanted to do away with it?

Sorry, it's not a joke, Rick (Dancing With The Stars) Perry was really named secretary of the Department of Energy.  You can't make this stuff. The poor guy flunked chemistry and other science courses in college for crying out loud. Compare that to the guy who currently runs the department.

"Barring a coup during his confirmation hearing, former Texas Governor and failed Dancing With The Stars contestant Rick Perry will head up the Department of Energy – the agency responsible for, among other important things, controlling America’s nuclear arsenal. He is, without a doubt, one of the least qualified people in the country to do it.....

.......By comparison, the current head of the Department of Energy got a PhD in theoretical physics from Stanford and was the head of the physics department at MIT when President Clinton selected him to help run the agency. Obama would eventually re-hire him to head the whole thing in 2013. He also got a seat at the table when the White House negotiated the Iran nuclear deal because he, well, actually knew a thing or two about nuclear physics and could help Obama make sense of Iran’s nuclear program. In other words, as head of his department, he was an asset to the White House."

I don't know about the rest of you, but I kind of like smart people being in important decision making positions.

Fortunately for us trump says that  he is  really smart, and that he really doesn't need anyone else telling him what to do.  Under Herr trump the Department of Energy will be huuuge.

Anyway, there is another guy trying to work his way into trump's inner circle by bringing him some good news on the Obama birth certificate front.

"Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio plans to hold a news conference on Thursday where he will announce the “newest” revelation about his investigation into President Barack Obama’s birth certificate"

.Details of the announcement are still sketchy, at best.  However, a local news outlet in Phoenix is reporting they will carry the news conference tomorrow live online at 4:00 p.m. local time. Chief Investigator Mike Zullo is reportedly also expected to appear with Arpaio at the press conference.
Last month, the 84-year-old longtime sheriff of Maricopa County in Arizona lost his re-election bid  to Democratic challenger Paul Penzone, who will formally take office on January 7, 2017.

President-elect Donald Trump regularly invoked Arpaio’s name on the campaign trail, essentially saying the endorsement of Sheriff Joe was indication that he would be tough on immigration.

Although, the relationship between the two men actually goes back to when Trump was a “birther” himself.  Arpaio and Trump were two of the most high profile purveyors of the Obama birth certificate theory in the past.  However, Trump backed away from the issue in September of this year when he admitted Obama was born in the United States." [Source]

Let's see if the president-elect will change his mind after this "revelation" from Joe Arpaio and start up his birther claims again.

The bad news for President Obama is this: Now that trump will be president with the bully pulpit, he can really try to make this birther thing stick.

  1. The current Department of Energy is an ideologically-driven clusterfuck that considers its reason for being to impede energy production in America.

Trump's Department of Energy will be a reality-driven agency that will get the fuck out of the way and let the industry make us an energy-independent country. The best way to do that would be to eliminate the Department of Energy.

    Godspeed Governor Perry, Godspeed.

Right. That's why we surpassed Saudi Arabia (and Russia) in oil production under Obama.

Well, I guess the best we can hope for is for governor goodhair to forget to destroy the department of energy, and for Trump to be too narcissistic and self-absorbed to notice.

Not a confidence inspiring choice, but it served its intended purpose of pissing off Trump's enemies, or those he perceives as his enemies (read that anyone who ever said anything less than flattering about him.) Seriously, if he wants to grab a pussy he should start with himself.

"That's why we surpassed Saudi Arabia (and Russia) in oil production under Obama."

That happened despite the Obama administration, who fought fracking and who shutdown issuing new drilling permits from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico.

He also helped kill the coal industry, by getting the EPA to force the shutdown of dozens of power plants and deny permits for new coal fired facilities.

    37 days.

  4. So, would you rather have a cabinet that's a reality show, or that's like a corporate globalist bank?

Rhetorical question. You didn't make one single post about any of Obama's cabinet members literally chosen by CitiBank. They told Obama what to do, like a little bitch, and all you dishonest globalist twats could do is shout that "socialist means nigger" while giving more of our nation to corporations.

  5. Yeah but the thing is the Donald is just running the typical Republican playbook, appoint people hostile to the agency they head and when (shockingly) the department fails they point to it and tell us government can't do anything right ad thus we need to privatize it and let some billionaire make a buck. Your example of the Dept. of Energy is a good one. The agency is very important especially when it comes to nuclear energy and waste.
Ugh, this is going to be a loooooong 4 years.

Joe Arpaio has really jumped the shark. He's out of a job (finally! racist bastard) and now he's returning to the birther well to try and keep himself relevant?

I don't think that will work. Republicans don't so much care about Obama conspiracy theories anymore, since the Kenyan Marxist Muslim Traitor Tyrant Nemesis is on his way out of the White House. So Arpaio will have to work harder to find the next wave of stupid, made-up, defamatory urban legends to hop on board with. Maybe he can collar some of those dreaded Democrat "pizza pedophiles" the wingnuts have been obsessing about lately? Nothing would be funnier than seeing Joe wind up in jail with that other loony who got busted "investigating" the Comet Ping Pong restaurant earlier this month.

Alternatively, he could, I dunno, f*ck off to the retirement home like a sane person his age, and stop actively trying to ruin the country for everybody else.

  10. So what happened to the contempt of court filings against Arpaio that were issued in October? Do they get dropped because he lost the election? Maybe if he has to go to jail he can try on some of his own pink underwear...

  11. Perhaps goodhair will screw up the nuclear arsenal badly enough that Trump won't be able to use it as revenge for a mean tweet...

  14. How in the FUCK is it some huge tyranny pulled on the USA that someone TOLD US THE TRUTH? I can see if the Clinton emails were forgeries, but they weren't. I could see if media had them ready to release and Russia stole them, but they didn't.

These emails contained important information that Americans deserved to know heading into an election*. And if you disingenuous race-baiters weren't such pussies in the face of honesty you'd admit it. Holy fucking shit. Can you just imagine if these were Trump emails instead of Clinton's? You'd all be in here saying the right wing-nuts are blaming Russia--a nation whose involvement still isn't empirically backed up, much less proven, unless I missed a breaking story today--for doing what American media should have done.

*And the argument that these emails swung the election is another case of foot-in-mouth liberal hypocrisy. Here you have corporate media TRYING DESPERATELY to get Hillary elected. They all dropped their "impartial" pretense this go 'round and unabashedly tried to effect change by having Hillary elected. That's okay? From American fucking media, THAT'S okay, but learning the truth about the corruption ISN'T?

  16. Josh,

If you and I can consider ourselves friends.. I mean, I certainly bear you no ill will. I wish only the best for you and your family.

But you would only have value as an intellectual friend, if things were different. No offense. I still appreciate what you have to say.

But now that all is lost, what really is the point of trying to understand the mindset that has been shaped by false news and right-wing media? It made very much sense to reach out to you guys the last ten years. I have always valued my conservative, bloggy friends. But now that all is lost and the fate of the entire free world, (or maybe not so free for so very much longer,) rests in the uncertain hands of two or three hundred greedy republicans... Now that the only thing keeping us from being the next Zimbabwe, but on a more global and universal scale never anticipated by Jesus or Mohammed.

Oh, what the hell? My spiritual oracle tells me that we will all be okay.
