A competent politician understands who is playing them and for what, so they can act in their own interests or the interests of their agenda. This is also a responsibility of the office of president.
So as he plays into the hands of the Randian extreme right who will of course demand that the price of the walldoggle be cut out of the federal budget and more specifically the social safety net, he does not get to hide behind his ignorance to claim that his campaign promise to leave the safety net alone was not also a lie. Hint: no such ignorance on this subject exists in him.
As he plays into the hands of terrorist groups worldwide with his ban on immigration from countries where no actual attacks on the US have originated, while exempting those countries where attacks have originated, he assumes ownership for any attacks which result from the boost in recruiting his policies produce.
Perhaps if the information he needs to understand these and other issues were embedded in cable news broadcasts praising him for his unparalleled awesomeness, he might watch them and absorb some of it, but as he does not read and only listens to praise in short sentences from his most loyal toadies and Fox News, I don't find that to be very likely.

ReplyDeleteAs I understand, she hasn't said that what she told her husband, provoking him and his brother to murder Till, was a lie. No additional clarity has been added to that part of the story.
Her recent admission is to having lied in court after the murders, making Till's actions sound menacing and violent in order to help her husband and brother-in-law stay out of jail. And her false statement wasn't allowed to be heard by a jury, so it could only ever have been used to help the defense attorneys with an appeal in the event the two men had been convicted. Since they were acquitted, it had no real effect on legal proceedings.
All in all, this will make people have even less respect for this woman, if that is even possible, but it's really not quite the bombshell revelation many people are taking it to be.

He's going to have a mile or two built in the next two years, it's going to cost a ton, and suddenly Congress is going to do what Trump and sane Americans have always wanted: Stop with this open-borders policy just because guilt-riddled white upper-class American millennials believe we should have open borders, so long as the immigrants stay in my neighborhood instead of theirs.
The Western world, while far from perfect, is arguably the best, most advanced, fairest culture in the history of human civilization. And white people from Sweden to San Antonio cannot wait to give it away to third-world migrants and cultures whose only cultural currency comes by way of sometimes cuisine, sometimes music, and sometimes hairstyles. That's fucking it; that's the sum total of nonwhite cultural enrichment to date. It's considered racist to want American culture to be America's culture. And the threat of a superwall along the border (hopefully that electrocutes those trying to climb it) might just be what's needed to slap some sense into whiny whites who scream at minorities in coffee shops about how they support their dreams.
I don't want to lose our culture to the third-world. I'm not sure if black folks feel the same. Of course, the ones here believe it's a white supremacist culture anyway.
