Here are some things I learned today.
Sexual harassment is not a partisan issue. (Mr. Franken, you should probably resign your senate seat. But then the president has allegedly done worst things and he is still the president.)
Anti Gay republicans are hypocrites.
Christian republicans can be the most racist.
Congress spent 15 million dollars to protect some sexual harassers in their midst.
Apparently if you are a celebrity rapper and you commit crimes in your community, you get to have folks come out and protest on your behalf. (That Free Meek Mill bandwagon is going to have to pass me by.)
It's not cool to put a sign on your car that disparages the president in Texas.(Southern sheriffs really love trump.)
If you are poor in America, you are about to really get screwed.
trump supporters can be really disruptive in public spaces.
Charles Manson is knocking on hell's door. .
And, oh yes, there is more drip drip to that Russian scandal.
It's time to lighten up and just accept that a little groping is part of life.

America 2017:
ReplyDelete"Taking 16 year old girls on dates and kissing them goodnight is disgusting"

Al Franken story getting worse:

Which party featured an adulterer, harasser of waitresses (forming "human sandwiches" with fellow Democrat Senator Chris Dodd) and actual manslaughterer of a woman? Ted Kennedy, obviously.
ReplyDeleteWhich party featured a Majority Leader (Bob Packwood) who had to resign in disgrace for also shoving his tongue down women's mouths?
Which party has an ex-Congressman (Anthony Weiner) and husband of their last presidential nominee's closest confidant now serving time for serially texting adolescent girls?
Which party had as president a credibly accused rapist as their standard-bearer for decades, and did not feel any need to denounce him until both his and his wife's political utility was exhausted?
Isn't it possible that progressive would-be molesters, seeing that a prominent Democrat could not only get away with rape but be heralded for decades after as a Champion of the Party, were inspired to turn their fantasies into action precisely due to Democrat/Media cover-ups of such scandals?
The year is 2018. Every public official in Washington DC has been forced to resign because of sexual assault allegations - except one.
ReplyDeleteMike Pence, the man who was mocked for not eating alone with a woman other than his wife.
Uh no Robbie, Nancy Pelosi has been untouched.
DeleteOh yeah, Mike Pence. The guy who can't control himself around women so his wife has to act as an escort everywhere he goes.

If you live in a free society, and your status is determined by your natural performance; then it follows that to build a cohesive Leninist ruling class you need to recruit those who have natural low-status. In any society, men have higher performance than women. They are stronger, they work harder, they have a higher variance, which means a fatter right tail in all traits (more geniuses); and they have the incentive to perform that the natural mating market provides. That’s the patriarchy for you. Now I don’t want to overstress the biology part here. It’s not the fact that all men are better workers than women. In a patriarchy there’s plenty of unearned status for men. But that’s how it works: the core of society is the natural performance of men; those men will naturally build a society which benefits them as men; some men free-ride on that, some women get a bad deal. Lots of structural inertia there. But the core is real.
ReplyDeleteTo get to the point: in 1960 we had a white men patriarchy. That was perfectly natural. Every society with a substantial proportion of white men will end up being ruled by a cabal of white men. Much of its biology; part of its is also social capital, good cultural practices accumulated since the 15th century. White men just run stuff better. They are natural high-status. But again, nature makes for messy politics. There is no social value on acknowledging truth: everybody can see that. The signaling value is in lies. In the unnatural. As Moldbug put it:
in many ways nonsense is a more effective organizing tool than the truth. Anyone can believe in the truth. To believe in nonsense is an unforgeable demonstration of loyalty. It serves as a political uniform. And if you have a uniform, you have an army.
The point again is, that you can’t run a tight, cohesive ruling class with white men. They don’t need to be loyal. They’ll do ok anyway. A much easier way to run an obedient, loyal party is to recruit everyone else. Women. Blacks. Gays. Muslims. Transexuals. Pedophiles. Those people may be very high performers individually, but in a natural society ruled by its core of high performers, i.e. a white patriarchy, they wouldn’t have very high status. So if you promise them high status for being loyal to you; you bet they’re gonna join your team. They have much to gain, little to lose. The Coalition of the Fringes, Sailer calls it. It’s worse than that really. it’s the coalition of everyone who would lose status the better society were run. It’s the coalition of the bad. Literal Kakistocracy.
No one can argue against Field's thrust here. Of course sexual behavior knows no party lines. Nor is there any evidence that either party tolerates it more than the other. We used to say IOKIYAR. But that wasn't fair. I'm guessing the call for Moore to drop out may becoming directly from Trump.
ReplyDeleteWhat is of more concern is the tax bill. While we fully expected it pass in the house, the battle in the Senate is extremely dangerous. I wonder if any compassionate conservatives will balk at the notion of repealing the mandate or will that satisfy their consciences because other provisions of the ACA will remain in place? Trump and the majority leaders certainly don't care who gets hurt by the sabotage of the ACA. Ordinary Americans being forced out of coverage or paying cripplingly high premiums just isn't important to them. Enough damage has already been done. This would be the fatal blow not just to the bill, but to many Americans. Besides they could just blame any increases on Obamacare.
Meanwhile the massive giveaway of U.S. treasure to the wealthy would sail on through devastating our national coffers for more than ten years or effectively in perpetuity. Once the debt level surpasses a certain point, it becomes unpayable as we burden ourselves simply serving the debt.
When you consider that Meek Mill is doing more time for popping a wheelie on a bike than any cop has gotten for shooting a black child, it should put this injustice in perspective.
ReplyDeleteThere's also the matter of the judge possibly having a financial interest in the case and being investigated by the FBI, but why should we let potential corruption color our view of a system that routinely overcharges and over penalizes black men?
"But injecting your 7 year old boy with estrogen and putting him in a dress and taking him to gay pride parades to be ogled by dudes is totally cool and normal and natural"
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like it, might I suggest don't do it?
Packwood was a fucking wingnut. As for all the accusations against Dems well that is just locker room talk.
"If you don't like it, might I suggest don't do it?"
ReplyDeleteFuture generations will look back in horror at the abuse we allowed to be perpetrated on children in the name of Progressive values.
Like taking health insurance from kids? Like taking food from kids and families? Like denying them a public education? By allowing them to freeze when it is cold all so the wealthy can have bigger taxcuts? That is on wingnuts, not progressives.
ReplyDelete"Like taking health insurance from kids? Like taking food from kids and families? Like denying them a public education? By allowing them to freeze when it is cold all so the wealthy can have bigger taxcuts? "
ReplyDeleteNo, because none of those things are real.
And in truth, any of them would pale when compared to surgically and chemically mutilating a young child in order to virtue signal your progressive credentials.
Only a nightmare society promotes that.
No, because none of those things are real. Only in the wingnut land of denial is none of this true.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.cbpp.org/research/federal-budget/house-gop-budget-cuts-programs-aiding-low-and-moderate-income-people-by-29
The phony gawd fearing party of family values has also targeted LiHeap program and want to cut it fully. LiHeap provides heating assistance to some 8 million low income families.
As for public education wingnuts keep giving taxpayer bucks to private and religious schools in lieu of public schools. What does yer constitution tell you about education funding?
"The point again is, that you can’t run a tight, cohesive ruling class with white men. They don’t need to be loyal. They’ll do ok anyway. ReplyDeleteYou see this attitude in microcosm everywhere you find progressives – even if the specifics aren’t always being enforced. Everything is to be tolerated except ideas that would help the people discussing them to be more functional. Every cultural message is “things that push you towards being functional are wrong and bad” (just off the top of my head – “slut shaming” – which they oppose but would help lots of women avoid destructive behaviors).
Progressives pitch this as “liberating” – what it really is is making them better prog foot soldiers because it causes people to make natural mistakes that limit their futures.
Individual example – Jessica Valenti. This is a review of her autobiography – https://medium.com/the-patriarch-tree/lessons-of-a-sex-object-4b57f666dec5. Tldr version – she was a smart (getting into Stuyvesant is not easy) middle class girl who – if the culture was set up to encourage virtue would have been very happy and productive. Instead she made terrible choices in her adolescence and instead she ruined her life and now she’s a prog foot soldier.
Not only do we have a natural kakistocracy – we also systemically destroy virtue intentionally. This reminds me of Charles Murray and his earnest imprecations to the ruling class that they’re ripping out social “guard rails” – and his naive worry that they’re doing it by accident.

This is why America hates the media
Right wing media have accesdsd to the WH. Why didn't they ask any questions about Franken. It isn't like HRC gets to appoint press credentials so you can't blame her.
MSLSD said. yer link goes nowhwere. Try something different so I can read it, por favor.
ReplyDeleteWhich party had as president a credibly accused rapist as their standard-bearer for decades, and did not feel any need to denounce him until both his and his wife's political utility was exhausted?
ReplyDeleteWho are you bellering about and let's see the ALLEGED credible rape allegation. If you are accusing Clinton, that alleged rape never took place. Broaddrick herself signed two affidavits saying it did not happen.
" A much easier way to run an obedient, loyal party is to recruit everyone else. Women. Blacks. Gays. Muslims. Transexuals. Pedophiles. Those people may be very high performers individually, but in a natural society ruled by its core of high performers, i.e. a white patriarchy, they wouldn’t have very high status."
ReplyDeleteSo the lesson is the way to overthrow a country is always the same: put together a coalition of those out of power, tell them that they’re oppressed, and blame those in power. If you have to invest a new theory of oppression each time to fit the present circumstances, so be it.
Strongly disagree about Franken resigning. I like what one of my senators, Ms Gillbrand, said, to wit, that Franken might consider resigning once SCROTUS resigns. Franken has one French kiss and one simulated boob-grab (HAR HAR) on his record, Pussygrabber-in-Chief has legions of forced advances, kisses and fondles. Other diffenences: Franken acknowledges, is abashed, is contrite, and was forgiven. Frito Bandito denies, is unrepentant.
ReplyDeleteField, I usually agree with you, but not this time.
The only thing I’d add is the prevalence of white male leftists of low sexual status. In a way they’re the reserve of actual competency that prevents a coalition of gays, blacks, and women from immediate collapse.
ReplyDeleteTheir internal beliefs can be summarized as “once the Revolution happens, I’ll be as attractive as Chad and get as much pussy”. The most important thing to happen in recent memory is the alienation of low sexual status men from the left (e.g. Bernie Bros). These men tend to be pretty good at building bridges and making trains run on time.
If Franken did resign, Governor Dayton could take his place or appoint another Dem to serve until the next election.
ReplyDeleteIf Franken did the honorable thing and resigned, don't bet for a minute he'd get any pats on the back from stoopid fucking wingnuts. They'd all pile on and say what an idiot to resign over some bitch. You see, wingnuts have zero respect for females which is why so many get caught up in scandalous behaviors. My word against a gold digging bitch looking for a payday. Blah, blah, blah,
Franken's accuser says she doesn't want him to resign, for whatever that's worth.
ReplyDeleteFergus can't spell Frankenstein.
You can explain the mind-numbing greed and utter stupidity of the Republican tax bill with the statement of one Republican, Chris Collins: "My donors are telling me to pass the tax bill or don't ever call me again."

BTW...as far as Charles Manson goes....I think he should have been executed 25 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThough, exactly what was he convicted for? He never actually killed anyone, as far as I know.
"the mind-numbing greed and utter stupidity of the Republican tax bill"
ReplyDeleteDo you really believe this or are you just parroting an automatic response to any Republican initiative?
If you do believe this, can you explain why you believe it so greedy and stupid?
anotherbozo, he should resign IMHO. But if he were to say "you first Mr. President", I would have no problem with that.
ReplyDeleteNo, Mr. Franken shouldn't resign from the Senate until all other men in this world, including the guy currently in the White House, resign from their jobs and positions because of sexual misconduct in their pasts. And please stop comparing him and other men who have committed the same level of offenses Mr. Franken is being accused of with a career pedophile who has the audacity to tout the Bible as the foundation of their morality.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thedailybeast.com/a-twitter-account-with-two-fake-ids-accused-a-democrat-of-assault-then-pro-trump-sites-ran-with-it
ReplyDeleteSenator Richard Blumenthal accused of assault by a woman who might not exist. And of course winguts were going crazy demanding explanations from Blumenthal. Fucking wingnuts cannot win without cheating plus dirty tricks. They are inbred dumbasses.

Progressive Center Left Hollyweird elites cannot keep their hands off the kids or raping women. They believe they are untouchable and entitled to do whatever they please without consequence.
ReplyDeleteWho benefits from tacxcuts for the very wealthy?
ReplyDeleteThe Joint Committee’s reports of this week make startling reading, or as startling as a series of spreadsheets of tax revenue data can be. The report shows that this bill is much like a teaser rate on a new credit card: there are some goodies in the first couple of years, but those disappear fairly quickly, at least for those below the median income. In 2019, the first full year that this bill would be law, the benefits are concentrated on the bottom of the income stream, with middle-class people, on average, paying just under ten per cent less in taxes than they would if the law weren’t passed. With each passing year the benefits shift upward, toward the rich. By 2021, those making between twenty thousand and thirty thousand dollars a year are paying considerably more in taxes, those between thirty thousand and two hundred thousand see their benefit shrinking, and those making more start to see their taxes falling. By 2027, every income level below seventy-five thousand dollars a year sees a tax increase, while everybody above that level sees a continued decrease, with the greatest cut in taxes accruing to those making more than a million dollars a year

- AMEN!
- I am sick to death of the microminded false equivalencies that the "party of gawd and more-ality" keeps tossing off in their childish attempts to get a free ride for any and every ambulatory turd that verbally oozes Bible verses and claims of moral superiority, while stooping to some of the most egregious transgressions of both - and while flouting civil prosecution as well.

- Sorry, but morally AND legally, one stupid prank-photo is NOT "the same thing" as serial statutory rape. NOT EVEN CLOSE. But right-wingers reject that fact. But maybe it's just a language problem - возможно, мне нужно писать свои комментарии на русском языке, с тем чтобы наши фашистские лизоблюды может по-настоящему понять его.

I agree! Those Hollyweird types like former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R), Mark Foley (R) and now Roy Moore (R). Keep those guys away from little boys and girls!
We could fill a Synagogue with all of the rapists getting outed in Hollywood.
ReplyDelete"If you do believe this, can you explain why you believe it so greedy and stupid?"
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, I can. Besides it being the usual total fraud that comes from any Republican legislator these days (as noted above by Mike) that will raise taxes on earners between $10,000 and $75,000 while handing everyone at a million or more a huge break, specifically those who don't actually work for their money, and hand the Trump family, the Walton family, and the Koch family literally billions of dollars with the repeal of the inheritance tax, the senate version will also throw 13 million people off of their health insurance and raise the premiums of all of those who still have it.
But the main thing is the deliberate $1.5 trillion hole it blows in the deficit that they are planning to use as an excuse to gut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
So, yeah, obscenely greedy, mind-numbingly stupid, and straight-up evil.
-Doug in Oakland
"But the main thing is the deliberate $1.5 trillion hole it blows in the deficit"
ReplyDeleteHow does that compare to the $10 trillion Obama added to the deficit? Was that a problem?
Also, the idea that this bill will "raise taxes on earners between $10,000 and $75,000 " is demonstrably false. Why do you feel compelled to lie about this?

ReplyDelete"But the main thing is the deliberate $1.5 trillion hole it blows in the deficit"
ReplyDeleteHow does that compare to the $10 trillion Obama added to the deficit? Was that a problem?
How does it compare? 15%
So just blow another 15% hole to shore up the wealthiest families?
I've been wondering about this 1.5 trillion over ten years. I'm not sure how we got to the point of bandying about these astronomical numbers like they were affordable, but let me tackle this question with a little segment I like to call, "Math is Fun."
So I looked up the tax revenues for 2016. I found this handy booklet, replete with figures and tables.
If you take the time to look at page eleven, (it is interesting,) you will see two important columns. One is the net collection of corporate taxes in 2016. The other is the net collection of estate and trust income taxes for the same year.
The corporate taxes come to $294 Billion. If we reduced the rate from 35% to 20% that would effectively mean that only 57% of the revenue would be collected, or $127 Billion dollars would be retained by the corporations.
The net collection of estate and trust income taxes for the same year was $27.1 Billion. This amount is simply subtracted from government revenue.
So we have $154 Billion that would have not been paid in fiscal year 2016. I guess that must be where the $1.5 Trillion figure came from over ten years.
I consider that number to be a conservative estimate at best. But what gives you the idea that our budget can sustain deficits of $154 Billion over a ten year period?
This handy booklet.
ReplyDeleteI can't get my grammar and hypertext right in the same post.

ReplyDeleteThis shows that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about and should be ignored. That I will do, but I will explain just so your lie gets corrected for any actual sane people who might read this but not know the nature of your lie, a vanishingly small cohort I can only imagine:
There is not now and has never been a $10 trillion deficit. You're thinking of the total national debt, which is only important as a proportion of GDP, and consists mainly of money we owe ourselves.
The deficit is the amount of annual congressionally mandated government spending over and above the amount of tax collected.
Deficits were, after Bush's financial crash, running to a trillion dollars and more annually when Obama took office, and were less than half of that before he left office.
Please go fuck yourself.
