"Citizen and over age 30" is not what voters are supposed to be looking for in an applicant for the job of US senator, for example. A Fortune 500 company wouldn't hire someone as CEO on the basis of: "okay, not an axe murderer, so ... good enough!!!"

The CrowdStrike forged Guccifer 2.0 "Russian hack" fingerprints were way to sloppy to have been done by the CIA though. Maybe the CIA just told Comey not to subpoena the DNC's server. It is better to lie without seeing the copy and paste "fingerprints" from a computer with Microsoft registered to a different person than the WikiLeaks version was. It's called plausible deniability, and the disclaimers in the intelligence assessment are laughable.

I think some Republicans didn't believe Trump's accusers for the same reason some people won't believe the U.S. supported ISIS or that Russia didn't give anything to Wikileaks. Just like Anoymous @ 12:38 AM. They believe what they want to believe. Other people decided Hillary was worse even if the accusations were true. A lot of people see through media bias and lies. For example, today CNN criticized Trump for getting UCLA basketball players out of jail in China.

People have more insight into why it can take women a long time to come forward and women are much more likely to come forward now. It reminds me of the movement when gays encouraged each other to come out. People suddenly became more accepting of gays when they saw they had gay friends, relatives, co-workers, neighbors, and famous personalities they liked.-

News organizations like Politico and The NY Times contacted Podesta with articles before they were published to get approval. No money was involved with Trump Jr. But it does look like Hillary paid Fusion GPS for the dossier and that supposedly involved people with Russian ties.

And the person from Wikileaks who tweeted him tried to get Trump Jr. to give them damaging information about his father, like his father's tax returns. Wikileaks has exposed stuff about Russia. When someone asked Assange why he didn't release bad stuff about Trump, he said we are trying to get some and what we did get was already released by other sources. He also said, most of the bad things about Trump come out of his own mouth.

Besides all the emails Wikileaks released there was things like debates being scheduled during big games and the AP announcing that Hillary won before California and the super delegates voted. Most people probably don't know how the emails got to Wikileaks, but they realize the emails are authentic. Those of you who think Debbie Wasserman Schultz is still the DNC chair and Donna Brazile is still with CNN are a minority.

Most of the accusations that have hit the media in the wake of Weinstein involve sexual harassment, not sexual assault/rape. These are civil, not criminal offenses, so criminal prosecution does not apply. There may well be some civil lawsuits coming in the future.
Weinstein himself is an exception to this. The offenses he is accused of are numerous and do include rape, and it's quite possible he'll go to jail.
Roy Moore will not, because the events in question are from 40 years ago, so applicable statutes of limitations have expired.
With regards to Cosby, despite the huge number of women he's accused of assaulting, most of his alleged crimes are also too old to be prosecuted. Unfortunately for him, at least one of them is more recent, which is why he's been charged.

ReplyDeleteThe original Keystone pipeline from Canada to Texas has sprung another leak. Officials claim only 5ooo barrels leaked in 15 minutes. Sounds like something slightly larger than a leak- like maybe a blowout. This pipeline used cheaper Indian made steel to save profit margins.
Afew years back this pipeline reported a spill near Freeman, SD in which they claimed only 7000 gallons leaked at the rate of one or two drops per minute. At that rate the pipeline would have had to be leaking decades before it was ever installed.
But don't worry yer selves. This is only dilbit-diluted bitumen- the dirtiest oil ever discovered. It has numerous chemicals added to it and is heated way up to make the stuff runny enough to flow through a pipe. Spilled in water thestuff quickly sinks to the bottom and leeches out chemicals until it is almost impossible to recover it is so sticky.
Contrary to continued wingnut lies this stuff is not being used here. It is refined in Texas port cities and shipped overseas and sold on the global market. Canad owns the pipeline and the oil and wingnut fuckers in congress gave Canadian korporation a parting gift by telling the world this is dil-bit, it is not taxed at all for emergency cleanup funds. It gets a free pass.

At this point, the Weinstein-inspired AccuseFest is churning out allegations with a wide range of degrees of wrongdoing, from rape, to using workplace seniority to extort sex from a subordinate, to the mildest sort of bad behavior possible -- such as making a naughty joke.
