"You just wait... When the middle class white folks that you duped into thinking that your tax bill is supposed to help wake up and realize that you just screwed them over with a tax increase
and awarded yourself and the rest of the rich corporations a tax cut ALL HELL IS GOING TO BREAK LOOSE!"

    -----------------
    Psssst...Hey Folks....This Just In:
The rich keep making poor and middle class folk think that if they just keep working a little harder and keep on working from sun up till sun down, then they too can become a billionaire. But capitalism doesn't work that way.

History has shown over and over that corporations will NOT trickle down anything. They won't be using any of that tax cut money that they will be saving in taxes to employ or hire more workers,

Instead the additional profits that they make off of their corporate tax cuts will go straight into their pockets and the pockets of their investors. It's called corporate greed and dominance.

In other words, corporate CEO's and executive will continue to make 50 times more than the average middle class worker by giving themselves billions of dollars in salary and raises.

The need to have power and control is more important to them than having human decency.

The US is officially being run by and ruled by corporations. Our elected officials cater to them and only them.

WHAT THE "RICH" ALREADY KNOW, BUT ARE HOPING THAT "YOU" NEVER UNDERSTAND:...

The system we have for producing and distributing wealth is capitalist. It is organized in ways that allow a small elite to control most of the capital – factories, machinery, tools – used to produce wealth. This encourages the accumulation of wealth and income by the elite and regularly makes heroes of those who are most successful at it – such as Microsoft’s Bill Gates. It also leaves a relatively small portion of the total of income and wealth to be divided among the rest of the population. With a majority of the people competing over what’s left to them by the elite, it’s inevitable that a substantial number of people are going to wind up on the short end and living in poverty or with the fear of it much of the time. It’s like the game of musical chairs: since the game is set up with fewer chairs than there are people, someone has to wind up without a place to sit when the music stops.

In part, then, poverty exists because the economic system is organized in ways that encourage the accumulation of wealth at one end and creates conditions of scarcity that make poverty inevitable at the other. But the capitalist system generates poverty in other ways as well. In the drive for profit, for example, capitalism places a high value on competition and efficiency. This motivates companies and their managers to control costs by keeping wages as low as possible and replacing people with machines or replacing full-time workers with part-time workers. It makes it a rational choice to move jobs to regions or countries where labor is cheaper and workers are less likely to complain about poor working conditions, or where laws protecting the natural environment from industrial pollution or workers from injuries on the job are weak or unenforced. Capitalism also encourages owners to shut down factories and invest money elsewhere in enterprises that offer a higher rate of return.

These kinds of decisions are a normal consequence of how capitalism operates as a system, paths of least resistance that managers and investors are rewarded for following. But the decisions also have terrible effects on tens of millions of people and their families and communities. Even having a full-time job is no guarantee of a decent living, which is why so many families depend on the earnings of two or more adults just to make ends meet. All of this is made possible by the simple fact that in a capitalist system most people neither own nor control any means of producing a living without working for
    someone else.

To these social factors we can add others. A high divorce rate, for example, results in large numbers of single-parent families who have a hard time depending on a single adult for both childcare and a living income. The centuries-old legacy of racism in the United States continues to hobble millions of people through poor education, isolation in urban ghettos, prejudice, discrimination, and the disappearance of industrial jobs that, while requiring relatively little formal education, nonetheless once paid a decent wage. These were the jobs that enabled many generations of white European immigrants to climb out of poverty, but which are now unavailable to the masses of poor.

Clearly, patterns of widespread poverty are inevitable in an economic system that sets the terms for how wealth is produced and distributed. If we’re interested in doing something about poverty itself – if we want a society largely free of impoverished citizens – then we’ll have to do something about both the system people participate in and how they participate in it. But public debate about poverty and policies to deal with it focus almost entirely on the latter with almost nothing to say about the former. What generally passes for ‘liberal’ and ‘conservative’ approaches to poverty are, in fact, two variations on the
    same narrow theme of individualism.

THEY WANT TO KEEP U THINKIN THAT ITS THE BLACK AND BROWN FOLKS TAKIN AWAY JOBS...
OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWING CORPORATIONS AND CORPORATE GREED TO TAKE AWAY JOBS AND DESTROY THIS COUNTRY. UNFORTUNATELY, IT MAY TAKE A REVOLUTION TO PUT AN END TO IT.

THE OCCUPY WALL STREET CROWD HAD THE RIGHT IDEA BUT WEREN'T QUITE SURE HOW TO ORGANIZE AND CHANNEL THEIR ENERGY. BUT WHEN THEY GET ANGRY ENOUGH AND FRUSTRATED ENOUGH THEY WILL COME BACK STRONGER NEXT TIME.

AGAIN, CORPORATIONS AND THE RICH PAY LITTLE TO NO TAXES AT ALL!
THEY PAY THEIR LAWYERS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIND TAX LOOP HOLES.

ON THE OTHER HAND, MIDDLE CLASS FOLKS ARE FORCED TO USE THEIR SALARIES TO PAY THE TAXES THAT THE POOR CAN'T PAY AND THAT THE RICH REFUSE TO PAY.
SO BASICALLY, THE ENTIRE TAX BURDEN FALLS SQUARELY ON MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE.

QUESTION: HOW LONG DO WE EXPECT THIS COUNTRY TO BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN ITSELF AS A WORLD POWER WITH ONLY 1/3 (THE MIDDLE CLASS) PAYING TAXES WHILE THE OTHER 2/3 OF THE COUNTRY PAY NONE?!!!!!!

  13. For all the good guys on here- tonight is the SuperMoon and if you are in an area with minimal light disturbance or mountains in the way, you should get a spectacular view of the full moon rise. I am fortunate that I have an unobstructed view to the east. If there are no clouds tonight I will be parked at the end of the lane enjoying Mother Nature's finest spectacle for free.

The old Caribbean cultures were traditional and patriarchal. It’s unfortunate to watch American hip hop mentality spread to the island youth today. Hopefully the conservative voices amongst them prevail and restore/protect their cultural uniqueness. Hotep is the way of Tradition; Tradition is the way that healthy men and women are created by culture, instilled with the wisdom of the elders of each people. When new, so-called “progressive” ideas emerge, they should be held up to scrutiny, tested and proven before being deployed as truth. Otherwise the fanciful ideas of the unwise (but sometimes well intentioned) end up destroying society.

We are now into the second generation of black American men predominately raised by single mothers. The results are a feminized mentality, where they are powerless and things just happen to them. Then they try to compensate their underdeveloped manhood through sexual conquest and hyper-masculine outward behaviour, when a real man is self-confident and doesn’t need the approval of others to validate his strength. The same phenomenon is happening with white men now too, as greater numbers are raised with absent fathers, some of whom are there but perpetually disengaged.

"That man came here and he had the unmitigated nerve to throw a roll of paper towels to the people. Now I know he's nuts!"

But did you catch the towels, Lilac? That's what everyone wants to know.

Trump swears they were very high-quality towels. So soft.

Paper towels can fix anything, even hurricane damage, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No I wasn't in that crowd, so no towels for me! Yeah well, I agree that they may have been high quality and all, after all they were his,but just ONE measly roll???! No,no,no, we needed more...

Oh and Fema, that's another laugh! They were sitting around in San Juan In the air conditioned coliseum, sipping tea and crumpets, in crisp shirts and ties, while the country sweltered amidst the heat and mosquitos! They didn't allow the ships to unload the goods that they always bring to the supermarkets so even though the roads were clear and the supermarkets had generators but the shelves were almost empty! So what they were doing was forcing the ships to sell them the goods so they could give it out in the metro area or something, lord only knows.

It was all a photo op thing for them, they delayed giving out the tarps and everything else for a long time. and did y'all hear about the Whitefish scandal? We call it the Tunafish scandal, pure corruption I tell you! $300,000,000 yes, a three hundred million dollar contract to an electrical company from Montana that had 2 yes two employees, was working out of a home in Montana and the owner was related to some congressman, hellooooo! But the radio and press here mounted such a hue and cry the gov had to 'get rid of them' (supposedly) Personally I think they just changed their name lolol! but the engineering corps or something and some other companies came in and they've done the work. But it is slow going because of the topography. A lot of places were unreachable too.

So many stories I forget! Honestly the mayors took care of their people actually, they were all over the place working and crying out and getting what dribs and drabs from the central government (which seemed to be paralyzed)that they could.

The government took a lot of photo ops and meetings and press conferences and that type shit.

There's still people bathing in the creeks

  30. White House adviser Ivanka Trump said on Monday that Republicans were going to pass tax reform so that every family would have the opportunity to have a Mandarin Chinese language tutor like her children have.

During an interview with the president's daughter, the hosts of Fox & Friends noted that Ivanka Trump's daughter had learned a Mandarin song so that she could sing it to the Chinese president.

Had i known about this previously, I would have certainly backed this bill. Or not. More cluelessness from the 1st family of clueless pigs.
