I noticed one fascist thug in Portland had what looked like brass knuckles on under a pair of gloves. They had stuff under their gloves, bats, clubs, knives and a few were open carrying guns to a rally where all those things were banned. The cops did nothing about the weapons. Neither side had permits but when fascists started to move the cops attacked antifa with concussion grenades and sent two or three antifa members to the hospital. One had a concussion grenade casing stuck in the back of his bike helmet, which probably saved his life.

Early reports are making it sound like the police were on the Nazis’ side. Which is ... not great.
I’ll wait to form a judgment, though, until I hear more. Sometimes the initial reporting of these standoffs gets distorted or exaggerated by one side or the other.
Additionally, I’d have to say there is no way the police were throwing concussion grenades. Those are lethal battlefield weapons not used for riot control or any other civilian purpose.
The police tend to use stun grenades, aka flash-bangs, which temporarily blind and deafen people in the immediate proximity of detonation. Or else stinger grenades, which work the same as stun grenades but also fire out little rubber balls in all directions that cause pain on impact.
This terminology has gotten confused by some lefty reporters.
If police have started enforcing the law on these communist thugs, that's great news. They've had free reign to inflict violence on peaceful ralliers and vandalize businesses for far too long.
I hope a lot more will be picking pieces of flash grenades out of their skulls. That's the only way we are going stop Antifa from destroying American democracy.
