Congrats to the tan-man; it looks like he will be taking over from Lady Pelosi as the speaker of the house. That sound you hear is country and western music while red state A-merry-ca dances on the O man's metaphoric grave.
We are an impatient lot we A-merry-cans; his O ness wasn't moving fast enough to undo eight years of W, so his party had to pay. And pay they did. As of the field writing this post, the repubs already have a fifty seat pick up in the house, and they are three up in the senate. (Congrats to Tim Scott. Being the first black repub elected from the south since reconstruction is a big deal.) Here in Pistolvania it's still too close to call in all the major races. --It looks like some of you Negroes in Philly actually came out and voted, so it's not a runaway for the R's just yet.
Rand Paul is a projected winner. And so is the hottest thing out of Cuba since cigars; Macro Rubio. -He is the new darling of the wingnut crowd.- They are both already planning to change Washington as we know it. Good luck with that. (Thank god the voting rights act was already renewed) And, as was to be expected, the Wicked Witch of Delaware went down. Apparently she wasn't like enough of us. Former Iggle, John Runyan, might win across the river in Jersey (I swear you people in Jersey need to have your heads examined. John Runyan couldn't memorize Andy Reid's playbook, and you are sending him to Washington to represent your interests?)
Still, flashback two years ago and I bet a scene like this was far removed from the mind of his O ness. He could not have seen this coming. It seems like only yesterday that we were all crying and "kumbayaing" each other while we chanted "yes we can". No more. Politics is all about passion, and the majority of A-merry-cans aren't passionate about their politics. They are too busy trying to keep up with each other to worry about something as insignificant as a political philosophy or ideology. Their vote depends on their pocket books and what they see on commercials. And the guy with the most money controls the message. Hell, the guy with the most money can start a phony grass roots movement and watch it grow.
In the next few weeks you will be hearing a lot about this election. You will hear about A-merry-ca being a center to right country. You will hear that this was a referendum on Obama's policies, and that A-merry-cans got tired of the spending in Washington, blah blah blah. Don't believe a word of it. This was about a party out of power passionately trying to get it back, and succeeding by tricking ordinary A-merry-cans into thinking that they all had the same goals. It was about a few (not all) people in the majority population who suddenly became passionate about politics because of the complexion of the occupants in the people's house. It was about an orchestrated campaign from day one by certain media outlets to drive up ratings with phony and slanted stories, and creating a rabid foam at the mouth opposition to an administration that was led by the perfect boogey man.
So congrats tan-man, I look forward to your reign. But just remember; as long as we are still free to speak our minds in A-merry-ca, I will be here speaking mine. The next two years should be fun.
I generally dislike you; however, I love this post. Spot on, even to a disbeliever like me. :o)
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a "like" button for posts like these. I agree with anon 11:59, spot on!

ReplyDeleteField, great post. I would be careful what you and your followers say from now on.
ReplyDeleteThe greatest fear of some Negroes have come true. The Tea Party and Republicans have taken their country back. How does it feel to be a so-called FN now?
Not only is Obama toast, but so are you liberal progressive black Dembos who have been shooting off your mouths like you were the center of the universe with some intelligence and power. The truth is you had very little of it, and you even have less now.
The American people have spoken. Pack your shit and get out! lol
Not the worse outcome. They have 2 months to get America straight!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is funny, as I was leaving the polling place today I was asked what I thought of the Tea Party Movement - I responded, the last time I looked the Klu Klux Klan was an Extremist Group, not a Movement!
Everything hate touches dies - America back on the brink!
How QUICK Americans forget...Republicans had total control for the last eight years and this country is in the mess it is in because of THEM...The Republicans walked all over the Democrats when they were in control under Bush and the Republicans bullied the Democrats when the Americans put them in Control in 2008. I was frustrated then and now, but I did VOTE because I wanted to give them a chance to grow a pair against the Republicans in Washington.
ReplyDeleteThe PEOPLE lost tonight and the PEOPLE that allowed the FEAR MACHINES...FOX NEWS, PALIN, LIMBAUGH, AND BECK scare them into voting Tea Party/Republican again will be crying a river soon. It will not take long for them to realize they were USED and the Tea Bag/Republican party has NOTHING for them...
BIG BUSINESS WON TONIGHT!
Finally, the worse thing about tonight is Palin will not be going away anytime soon.
Great post, Field. And very respectful of the Tea Party and Repubs. You must be really scared. lol
ReplyDeleteMichael Steele called the elections exactly right. Guess he isn't so dumb afterall, eh? Maybe it's time to give the man some respect, also...for being smarter than Obama.
Meanwhile, those knuckleheaded Dumbocrats continue to shoot themselves in the foot--which they have ALWAYS done throughout the history of the party. I swear, their political IQ must be in the neighborhood of an imbecile.
Yvette, stop hating on the Tea Party. They are good people and are fully integrated.
ReplyDeleteI am going to miss seeing Pelosi. She was much better looking than sun-blasted Boehner.

You can't believe that shit that you posted.
2010 will be known as the year that old, scared, gullible-ass white people got suckered into voting like they are millionaires by people who had no real vested interest in their interests. Old, scared people afraid that muslpantheniggersocialistsafroamericans would be taking their jobs, money and women.
What happened tonight was that the republican party has been painted into a corner. One of the main reasons that Obama felt so much heat was the belief that since democrats held Congress and the white house, the failure totally belonged to them. Now Obama has a scapegoat, Republicans and the tea party. The Republicans aligned themselves with the tea party, now they have created that monster. You gave the REAL AMERICANS, THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY COUNT, NOT GOOBERS IN FLYOVER COUNTRY NOONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT, a choice between Obama, who will really look good now, versus some bumper-sticker wingnut who gets his marching orders, from Fox News and people who spend their spare time dressing up like Paul Revere.
P.S. Thank you for making Sarah Palin the presumptive 2012 nominee.
Please enjoy your victory. I hope you do. But you supporters are old as hell, and there many baby wingnuts coming down the pike.
For my money, this is the dying GOP’s last big spasm before slumping to the ground. They won’t get much to show for the rage and big talk in the next two years, demographically the odds will tilt a little further against them, and we seem to be holding onto the Hispanics in the key south-western states. We lost out because the economy sucked, the kids didn’t show up at the polls, as per norm, and because the Democrats haven’t sold their policies very effectively. All things considered, the GOP haven’t made the best use of their chance, haven’t got the Senate, and don’t have a serious candidate for 2012, so our odds of cutting them down in that year still look good to me.
Fuck it. Bring it on, right wing crazies. You won a battle, but the war is long. The Japanese got us at Pearl Harbor, but they, shall we say........got lit up the end.
But congratulations, Really.
Brother Field...some continue to write that President Obam is lacing mental capacity....the Brother Did what appx. 70,ooo,ooo men could/would not do. He conned his way into the most powerful position on the globe. I wish they would stop inferring that this guy is lacing of intelligence.Good post...Brother Obama opposition speaks akin to Bennie Laden. They want to destroy American as it presently stand....just like TP&Rs.
ReplyDeletetoomey now has the respekt he never gotted...all Pistolvania hasta call him Senator.
ReplyDeleteThis am a Democracy and those who voted got exactly what they deserved/wanted. A country taken aback. With 22% unemployment in Caleefornia and near that everywhere else, what happens when the Auterians get their jollies? What happens when the Catfood Commission ends the last pension?
Mold
Frankly, I'd rather have Runyan back on the Iggles given the current o-line.....
ReplyDelete"The Tea Party is on the clock now. They have two years to fix everything or else they're going to lose big in '12."
ReplyDelete"Fix everything"? That's not in their playbook. For the next two years, they'll be primarily dedicated to halting and reversing any and all progress made by the Obama administration. This includes scrounging for anything that could kick-start an impeachment procedure. And unlike Clinton, they want to make Obama take that Walk...ahem...Strut of Shame out of the White House and out of D.C.
Their secondary concern will be kissing up to their corporate buddies. The only bills that'll be able to pass through Congress will be defense bills and tax cuts for "successful entrepenuers" and "the backbones of the economic community". That's about all you can expect of them for the next two years.
"What happens when the Catfood Commission ends the last pension?"
Someone needs to wake these old knuckleheads up. Making a concerted effort to end Medicare will do just that. Funny how these old sods bitch about government yet defend the very government programs that keep their old asses alive.

Now, intelligence, on the other hand we have enough of that to share with you. If you would only be open to better ideas.

TSC, "That must be satire. You can't be that fucking stupid.
ReplyDeleteYou can't believe that shit that you posted."
Well, TSC..people voted for the party who didn't like the complexion of the man in the WH, according to Field's post. And Negroes like you agree. Your devoted response to Field's statement was "Perfect".
Any fool can discern from this post that Blacks worship Obama like you and Field, don't feel so good now that the people have voted against the black man in the WH. In fact, you down right scared, even more so than the white people you and Field claim are sacred of you. Imho, that has been the underlying fear of our people ever since Obama has been elected. But I understand black denial. We should never let the Light in and admit the truth- or say a word against Obama's inadequacy because it would reflect on the 'entire' black race. Let's blame it on the white man. It's HIS fault, right?
Hell, I bet some White AND Brown folks voted for Republicans because they are sick and tired of listening to Negroes like you, Field, and Granny along with those sorry Dems blame White Republicans and Tea Party for everything.
What R. J. said.
ReplyDeleteThey won the race; now it's time to do the job. If they spend the next two years obstructing and going after Obama, he's guaranteed re-election in 2012 in a landslide, because its, the economy, Stupid.
Run your mouth all you like Anonymous but this ain't nothing but 1994 all over again.
ReplyDeleteRead Maureen Dowd's column today.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/03/opinion/03dowd.html?_r=1
The righties are talking the EXACT SAME SHIT that they were in 1994!!!!
No difference, no ideas, no solutions.
Just appeal to people's basic fears, find a boogeyman and demonize him.
Look for legislative gridlock and lots of costly congressional investigations of Democrats.
And an Obama reelection in 2012
TSC said, "2010 will be known as the year that old, scared, gullible-ass white people got suckered into voting like they are millionaires by people who had no real vested interest in their interests. Old, scared people afraid that muslpantheniggersocialistsafroamericans would be taking their jobs, money and women."
ReplyDeleteThat's your self-pitying imagined assumption as a Negro that Whites were tricked. No, they were not. They knew 'exactly' what they were voting for, and it wasn't for Obama and the Dems.
And why must you make such long degrading words of Blacks like "muslpantheniggersocialistsafroamericans?" You must be one of those rapping Wacka Flocka Negroes that you obviously worship.
FYI: The only people who are afraid of losing their jobs are Blacks, thanks to your hero, Obama. In fact, Blacks have lost a tremendous number of jobs..more that any other race in America, thanks to Obama.
It's Negroes like you who go around spraying your stinky childish name calling like some foul smelling skunk- who 'desperately' need to "WAKE UP", and face the REALITY that Obama and the Dems clearly aren't cutting it.
Hell, Obama and his party don't even know how to promote what good they DID do.
Now that's what I can 'incompetence of the highest order',- because that's one of the most important things a party in power MUST DO, if they are to keep the faith of the American people. Face it. Obama is just too green and too docile. This would have never happened it Harold Washington had been in the WH.
Whether the Repubs and the Tea Party changes anything for the better remains to be seen. But Obama and the Dems are toast.
Get used to it, negro.
It wasn't so bad. Rand replaces Bunning. All the shrill scary women, from Cali to Connecticut got skunked and the ones who blew their own millions were the best.
ReplyDeleteGOP has neither a veto proof majority nor senate control. Maybe Obama will finally fire the rest of the Clinton Gov in exile who handle his economy responses.
The corporate media is tooting away but it won't have much shelf life.
Now they actually have to govern and the job hungry and debt weary who brought us this booby prize are in for a steady diet of nothing burgers from the no party that played the something for nothing american dream to the hilt.
Anoymous,
ReplyDeleteName one Republican initiative for creating jobs.
there was far more damage done in the state legislatures and governors' races.
ReplyDeleteboth may make it impossible for obama to be re-elected. THAT is a big deal!
"Whether the Repubs and the Tea Party changes anything for the better remains to be seen. But Obama and the Dems are toast."
ReplyDeleteThat's mindset of the tinfoil hats.
Just make sure we beat the niggers and the libs.
So much for patriotism.
From the perspective given being on this side of the pond, I would say that America is totally and irredeemably fucked in the short to medium term - however the long term looks brighter.
ReplyDeleteMy Top 5 reasons for short-term pessimism and long-term optimism.
1. The Repugs have no clue what to do about the economy. Except 'spend less money'. This at a time when no fewer than THREE recent Nobel prize winning economists have said that the problem is that the US government is not spending enough money. So as previously stated, "it's the economy stoopid". Once voters cotton on to the fact that trickle down economics is a myth, they will move on. (.org)
2. Republican Jesusland is going to be a vile place to live. The Tea Party financial program is designed to make Billionaires and Major corporations richer, and nobody else. Social Services will collapse (as indeed will your bridges, aquaducts and Levees), millions more will be without health insurance. A combination of anti-education and anti-immigration policies will kill your technological edge. Global warming will be so manifestly obvious that most people will have to accept the reality. Eventually, someday, the population will just get sick of it and be willing to try something new.
3. Their race-baiting will be increasingly self-destructive as the electorate becomes increasingly non-white. The Repugs are committing Hari Kiri by demonizing the Latinos, who are generally conservative on social and fiscal issues.
4. Looking at photos of Tea-Party supporters and quickly estimating their B.M.I's - we can safely say that the vast majority of them will be dead before their 60th birthday.
5. The internal incoherence of the Tea Party paradigm their nebulousness and reluctance to engage in debate (they prefer to just make noise) - will ultimately destroy them from within.
So 20 years from now, you guys will be fine, however you are going to go through hell on earth between now and then. I wouldn't swop my life for any of yours, to be honest.
Move to Canada, would be my advice.

ReplyDeleteA toad's a toad even with spots.
It's no doubt a disaster that the Tea Party is on the rise; however, things would be grim regardless of who is in their. No one, I repeat no one, in Washington is even talking about the real long term problems that threaten the country's future. There's not one plan either party has advance to create the millions upon millions of jobs--decent paying jobs--that we need.
ReplyDeletePaul Krugman has written some pretty prescient things about the subject. I think he's summed up where we are going pretty quickly:
"Two years from now unemployment will still be extremely high, quite possibly higher than it is now. But instead of taking responsibility for fixing the situation, politicians and Fed officials alike will declare that high unemployment is structural, beyond their control. And as I said, over time these excuses may turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, as the long-term unemployed lose their skills and their connections with the work force, and become unemployable."
There's not one plan either party has advance to create the millions upon millions of jobs--decent paying jobs--that we need.
ReplyDeleteTrue dat.
This is because your country and mine have one problem in common. In the interests of chasing short term profits, your leaders want to turn your nation into a low-pay, low-skills casualised work-force, without rights or benefits. As if in some idiotic way they believe they can compete with goods manufactured or produced in India and China. It could never happen and we shouldn't even be trying.
Look at the Swedish, Finnish, and German economies, if you want a model of the direction we should be headed in.

Steve, this is why Gumbo-crats cant run the country. Gubn't little one is NOT supposed to and cannot create JOBS. We dont want no stimulus funded 300k a year ditch diggers or more gubnment workers sucking up the tax dollare Gub'nment is supposed to set the conditions for job creation by easing the bullshit taxation and restrictions placed on small businesses. You know, people who own business that you hate, that are the ONLY ones who create jobs.
(Reuters) - "President Barack Obama said on Monday he should not have used the word "enemies" to describe his political opponents as Republicans sought to make an issue of the comment a day before congressional elections."
ReplyDeleteGuess who keeps fueling the fire of divisiveness in America? It's the tan man in the WH, along with folks who worship the author of this post. You know who you devoted worshippers are. Oh well, at least there is a Speaker of the House now with a tan, too.lol
Mr. Tan Man Boehner-"Today, sadly, we have president who uses the word 'enemy' for fellow Americans ... fellow citizens. He uses it for people who disagree with his agenda of bigger government ... people speaking out for a smaller, more accountable government that respects freedom and allows small businesses to create jobs," Boehner planned to say in Cincinnati.
"Mr. President, there's a word for people who have the audacity to speak up in defense of freedom, the Constitution, and the values of limited government that made our country great. We don't call them 'enemies.' We call them 'patriots,'" he planned to say.
The above statements by Boehner is what put the nail in the coffin for Obama and his party. The Repubs could not have received a better gift from Obama than one from God. As often said, "the Dumbocrats ALWAYS shoot themselves in the foot during timely elections." They cannot handle success and therefore find ways to pass it on to the Republicans(and Tea Party).
Dems feel more comfortable as losers...That's why they elected a bm to lead their party in racist America. There is NO WAY a bm in racist America will EVER be able to get his agenda through a Congress that represents America. It is not possible.
Basically, all Obama can do is keep the status quo, which he has done very well. No Change.
And no one sees how that Maria starts her shit?

ReplyDeleteIt is in situations like these, the primary functionof the government to create jobs. When the private sector will not spend then the government must step in and spend
This is what a Nobel Prize winning economist said about this subject this morning...
The irony is that in their determination to punish the undeserving, voters are punishing themselves: by rejecting fiscal stimulus and debt relief, they’re perpetuating high unemployment. They are, in effect, cutting off their own jobs to spite their neighbors.
But they don’t know that. And because they don’t, the slump will go on.

The white nationalist backlash to the actual reality of a Black-led government – exemplified by but much larger than the Tea Party – was a reversion to type.
Only 43 percent of whites voted for Obama in 2008, despite general recoil at what the Republicans had wrought under George Bush. In large swaths of the Deep South, the white vote for Obama registered in the single digits and low teens. No one should have doubted that the forces of white supremacy would regroup after the 2008 anomaly, or that the Republicans, the White Man’s Party, would employ the racist tools and strategies that have kept them in the White House for 20 of the last 30 years.

ReplyDeletewhat i really hope the repubs do is wake the sleeping adoring left up who have been pretending that hobama is not a repub too again!
There was every reason to expect that many whites would reflexively scapegoat Blacks and browns in the wake of the economic meltdown of 2008 unless there were some countervailing rallying call for mobilization around a larger, socially cohesive national mission: a massive jobs and public works program. President Obama, the corporate Democrat, chose instead to transfer trillions in public wealth to Wall Street, the salient act of his tenure that overwhelmed – and, in much of the public’s perception, was conflated with – his wholly inadequate stimulus effort. The long and revelatory health care grind showed Obama’s eagerness to deal in the dark with the hated insurance and drug companies, to concoct a plan that essentially requires everyone to pay for private insurance. Even in friendly quarters, the glow was gone from his presidency, while the billionaire Koch brothers and Rupert Murdock fanned the flames of race hatred through their Tea Party “movement.”
Progressives, of course, had no movement, having opted to become Obama’s groveling left flank, instead

Or are AB and the army of 'Tea Party Left' and nameless anons having an awful case of selective memory? Didn't the GOP chase off Van Jones? To the 'Tea Party Left' you can't bitch about Obama doing nothing and refuse to vote and act shocked when a bunch of race baiting, corporate shilling lunatics take over 1/2 of the legislature. But the stimulus only goes so far. After winning $100 million in federal highway projects last year, Pike Industries of Belmont, N.H., added 150 workers to its staff of 1,000, says company President Christian Zimmermann. With stimulus work dried up, it may shed about 200 jobs this year, he says.
For others, federal aid has helped only modestly. A $20 million stimulus-related project on Interstate 95 has not let Ranger Construction avoid 20% cuts in revenue and staffing as its regular work — paving roads and parking lots for strip malls and condos — all but vanished. The West Palm Beach, Fla., firm now competes against 25 bidders on a job instead of five and is doing projects at cost just to generate cash for its asphalt-making unit. "I'd love to break even" in 2010, says Ranger executive Bob Schafer.
The struggle is more dire for workers. Like many of his peers, Allaway, 49, worked mainly for one firm but bounced among a few others for part-time gigs. The former paratrooper enjoyed the physical and mental challenges of breaking off and lifting 200-pound metal sheets and fitting them in their spots. He earned up to $80,000 a year in the boom, but his pay fell the last two years. Now, he clears $385 a week in unemployment benefits and has drawn $16,000 from savings. He has stopped renting DVDs; his grocery bill is a fraction of what it was. "You feel like the lowest," says Allaway, who lives in a modest two-bedroom condo.
Others switch fields, at least temporarily. After losing his job as a ductwork installer in July, David Kuper, 48, returned to truck driving, a job he had in the early 1980s. The Brownsburg, Ind., resident began cross-country treks in September, earning 65% of his former $32-an-hour pay. The 22-year construction veteran says he'd like to return to the field, but only for full-time work. "I don't want to be a guy that just gets a piece of it now and then."
Some leave for good. When cabinet installer Carl Riley of Victorville, Calif., couldn't find work after being laid off early last year, he sought training as an airplane mechanic through San Bernardino County's Workforce Investment Board.
Construction "is not going to be like it was for a very long time," says Riley, 35.

Yes, Alicia, white collar outsourcing is a problem. So to solve that, you want to vote in a lot of faux-populists who are backed by the same corporate fat cats who outsource those white collar jobs? Uh, yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense.
And by the way, the biggest loss of jobs weren't white collar jobs (which people like Meg Whitman shuttled off to Mumbia) but in blue collar jobs. And one reason why there's a high Black and Latino unemployment rate is because of the loss of blue collar jobs in the ghetto.

who will green jobs feed and house now????
Two years later, the answer to that second question appears to be no. Obama’s environmental agenda is in tatters. His green jobs plan has done little to make a dent in unemployment, which persists at close to 10 percent. Obama’s signature environmental initiative, cap-and-trade, died in the Senate in July. And, during the first year of Obama’s tenure, China massively outspent the United States on clean-energy technology.
The story of how Obama’s green agenda came up empty is more complicated than the one conventionally told by Democrats and greens, who imagine that cap-and-trade would have been transformational had Republicans and global-warming deniers not gotten in the way. In truth, the president’s strategy was flawed from the start. Cap-and-trade would not have birthed a domestic clean-energy economy—indeed, it wasn’t designed to. Meanwhile, the administration’s green stimulus spending was split between short-term, if worthy, investments in green technology, to which far too little money was allocated, and overhyped public-works projects that would never have delivered the new industrial economy Obama promised as a candidate.

The election results amply illustrated Obama’s political failure. Economic
downturns invariably awaken the populist demon inside the American psyche. Americans see themselves as part of a broad middle class—from the clerk at Wal-Mart to the small businessman—who do the work and play by the rules, but see themselves taken advantage of by illegal immigrants, welfare cheats, pointy-headed state bureaucrats, Wall Street speculators, and ruthless Robber Barons. Right-wing populists tend to point their fingers primarily at the undeserving poor and the government that serves them; left-wing populists at Wall Street and CEOs. During the Great Depression, Roosevelt was able to direct Americans’ ire primarily at the “economic royalists.” But Obama, who was uncomfortable with the rhetoric of populism and apportioned blame on Main Street as well as Wall Street, left a political vacuum that the right-wing populists of the Tea Party filled. They even managed to portray Obama and the Democrats as the patrons of Wall Street. When asked who was most to blame for “current economic problems,” a plurality of voters yesterday said “Wall Street bankers” rather than George W. Bush or Barack Obama. But amazingly, these voters backed Republicans by 56 to 42 percent. That testifies to the utter failure of the Obama administration’s politics.
The other telltale sign of Obama’s failure was the youth vote. Democratic victories in 2006 and 2008 very much depended upon increased support from and turnout among young voters. In 2008, Obama’s organization specifically targeted these voters. In this election, voters 18 to 29 again favored Democrats by a whopping 56 to 40 percent in House races. But they constituted only 11 percent of the electorate this year compared to 18 percent in 2008 House races and 12.5 percent in 2006. Obama and his political aides recognized that this was a problem, and in the last weeks of the election, tried to rouse these voters (hence all those campus rallies...

ReplyDeleteA section of Black America has lost their minds – literally – unable to make contact with reality since November 2008. Despite the horrific and disproportionate damage suffered by Blacks in the Great Recession, a psychologically impaired group of African Americans believes they are better off than before the recession began, and that the future is bright. When Obama entered, their powers of reason exited
A 53 percent Black majority think that the economy is starting to recover. Only 40 percent of whites hold that opinion. Yet, for the average Black or white working class person with a mortgage to pay, the situation is as bad as ever – and for Black people, that means roughly twice as bad. The Pew poll shows that 35 percent of Blacks report their homes are worth less than their mortgages, compared to just 18 percent for white people. Fifty-four percent of Blacks took a pay cut, worked reduced hours or were forced to take unpaid leave during the Great Recession. Only 37 percent of whites suffered such employment trauma, yet Blacks are consistently – and insanely – more optimistic about the future, and feel better about the present, than whites do. Nearly a third of Blacks say they are in better shape than before the recession began – a figure with no basis whatsoever in real life, and a perception that is at total war with reality. Everything is worse for every major Black demographic since December 2007. There is nothing to be upbeat about – except, for Obama supporters, the election 0f 2008. From that point on, a large segment of Black America became disconnected from reality, numb to their own pain and to the pain of their children. They have been singing zippidity-doo-dah while all around them Black America is in economic free-fall. These deluded Black folks have been rendered incompetent and politically useless to themselves and their families by the mere existence of a Black president. Obama's election was, besides the Great Recession itself, the worse thing that has happened to Black people in a long time

About the pot comments, yes if you are a card carrying medical marijuana patient, you have access to various grades of marijuana that are strong and grown specifically to have more thc and other active cannabanoids than Mexican dirt weed.
ReplyDeleteI have seen AIDS patients and cancer patients able to eat after wasting syndrome due to weed. I've also seen people with post traumatic stress syndrome get great benefit from it as well. Besides that it is one of God's creations. I think it is best for it to stay medical for the moment so that more research can be done on its effects.
Some studies show that cannabanoids can break down amyloid plaques which form in Alzheimers, MS and other diseases in the brain. Anyway, I have some health concerns that physicians in my state believe can be alleviated with marijuana and that is why I have a doctors recommendation and carry a card to indicate this to law enforcement.
However, I've never had a problem with the law because I don't drive around stoned out of my head and I don't go out in public stoned either. It is used as a medicine in conjunction with other medications my doctors have prescribed.

In deed, Mack. The Republicans blocked many small business loans and ensured banking reformed was watered down.
Also, the government is the nation's largest contractor - when the government doesn't spend, small businesses suffer.
But that's all well and good for some folks who think that the government is all evil. Good luck with that.
