Read two Playboy magazines and call me in the morning.

I know that from time to time it might seem like I am being flip when I post. But tonight I have a serious question for some of my republiclown friends: Do you really expect me to consider voting for Michele Bachmann for president when she signed on to a pledge that said black babies were better off under slavery because they were born to a two parent household?

"Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President." [Source]

Ok Ok, I know that when we were slaves we at least had jobs; but we didn't even get paid minimum wage back then.

And you wingnuts wonder why my cousins can't get under your tent with you.

And, speaking of Ms. Bachmann, I see that her hubby is being called out for running a scam clinic where he says that he can cure Gays by praying for them. ---Because we just can't have those "Barbarians" running around with the rest of us good Christian folks. "Ex Gay Therapy" is what I think he calls it. (Hmmm, I wonder if it worked for him? )

I started this post with a question, and I will end it with one for Marcus and his crazy ass friends: Marcus, if you think that by praying you could actually change someone from being Gay to hetro, why don't you use your prayers for more important things like bringing us world peace and fixing our damn deficit problem?

There is no equivalency between discriminating on the basis of race and discriminating based on a behavior.

Again with the fake 'authority'? Your 'tormenterating' was stoopid when you were a callow youth. Now, it only serves to illustrate you have no credentials, either academic or School of Hard Knocks.
Being a jerkhole reveals your abject limitations. Did it never occur to you that they were egging you on to see you fail?

Hmm...telling you that you can't be a jerk to others somehow restricts your Civil Rights? How so? Your are absolutely free to spout your horror at other citizens getting the same rights and benefits as yourself...and we are free to laugh at your ignorance.

Why are you not pouting in manly mightiness at the Affirmative Action that placed Bachmann in a job she was obviously not qualified for? Instead you weep crocodile tears because the fixed game is less fixed.

Maybe instead of being useful idiots for the cause of rich folks...you could ask why we don't do more for the less fortunate of the US citizenry. Or have European length holidays. Or Universal Health Care. Or maternity leave that cares about parent-child bonding. Or a livable minimum wage.
Keep pouting Baby, your Masters love it.

Desire is not enough. Some people have an innate preference for having sex with children. It does not excuse the behavior to the rest of us.

You should know Troll, some of us are old enough to have heard your 'argument' applied to AfAms. And women.
Funny how you feel the need to deny others equal opportunity and access. Are you planning to apply your racist and bigoted fantasy philosophy to the Legacies? You know, those who earned nothing and are given literal special privileges?
Or will you keep showing that the racist Goobers have branched into hating gays?

Oooh, the only groups that equate gay with child rape were the wingnuts and the catholic conservative hierarchy.
Why are you lying and trying to equate the love between consenting adults with abuse?

Pout away, if you only have marching orders and church GooberPoints, you have nothing. Bring the Facts and Data. I know, you avoided them in school...but you should be out by now.

"Michigan just overturned a ban on affirmative action. Basically saying that true equality causes undue hardships on minorities so there needs to be racism with minorities favored. Get that? You cannot stand equal with every other race, you need that huge headstart and even then you fail.
The article goes on to say much about colleges and so on. But I don't expect you will be able to understand it being a affirmative action negro yourself. If you need help understanding some of the more simple (I mean complex for you) passages, just let us know"

Cause we all know all those centuries of white male affirmative action hasn't given them an advantage. Legacy admissions are white affirmative action, just look at Bush Jr. Pulease, white dudes have hissy fits if they can't have every advantage to help their mediocre overrated arses.

This is a show, which means it has an opening act. This time the performers in the opening act are the chicks. After the chicks come the headliners."

I'll actually co-sign with no_slappz on this (hey, there's always a first time for everything...).

Bachmann's the 'crazy' feint set up to make Romney or Perry look better in comparison.

"The worst thing that has happened to blacks is that most have never embraced freedom, instead choosing the security of the democrat plantation. They have opted for meager handouts and set-asides instead of a fully adult life."

Guys, you aren't gonna bring blacks over to the GOP by insulting them. The ones who do join are already full of self-hatred seeded and cultivated by a national culture that discounts and insults blacks on a daily basis.

"YES, YES, YES there is a stagnant, dysfunctional black underclass but why do so many of us allow them to represent all of us??"

Some people see what they want to see. And they want to see blacks as abject failures. And some blacks have listened to and internalized that rhetoric, so they see themselves as abject failures by association.

"All us goobers want is a level playing field. Let's try dealing with reality for once."

A level playing field. Something that's been denied to blacks since the 1870s, up until the mid-to-late 1960s, when the so-called "goobers" were finally forced into granting blacks something resembling a "level playing field".

50 years later, the "goobers" are still looking for ways to kick them off the field and keep them off for good. The election of a half-African (still counting as "black" to some) to the highest public office in the nation and the ascension of countless blacks into the trappings of wealth made them realized that, sooner or later, they were going to be outmatched on their own turf. Hence the color-aroused frenzy to find any reason, ANY reason, to boot them off the field.

What I can't wrap my mind around is this subconscious drive held by the "goobers" not just to undo all of the gains made by the black community since, but to return them back to the days were one was considered to be "livestock" or "property". Do they imagine themselves as one of those genteel land barons, enjoying a fresh brew of iced tea on the rear porch of his palatial antebellum holding while watching the black slaves they just purchased toil the fields from sunup to sundown, with the occasional overseer whipping unruly blacks back into obedient servitude, when most likely they'd be the downtrodden poor farmer on his half-acre of distressed land, taking pride that no matter how shitty his own circumstance is, at least he's better than those niggers down the road at that plantation?

Is the brainwashing of white America to accept slavery as an ordinary, yet peculiar institution still so pervasive that hundreds of thousands, millions even, still advocate its re-implementation to some degree?

The fact that Bachmann (and Pawlenty, but who cares about him?) would sign such a ridiculous, homophobic, racist and asinine 'pledges' shows you how bankrupt the GOP is right now. With massive unemployment, crumbling bridges, two wars and budget crises - the biggest issues are gay marriage and porn? Oprah is the anti-Christ?! Really?!

hey uts:

what jobs??????

TWO YEARS after the economic "recovery" is supposed to have begun by the official calculations, the latest report on jobs from the U.S. government shows the Great Recession is alive and well for anyone who has the misfortune of looking for work.

Unemployment is always a feature of capitalism, even in boom times, but it has reached nightmarish proportions in the U.S. and across the world in the wake of the most recent economic crisis.

In an issue brief that puts the June unemployment numbers in perspective, Heidi Shierholz of the Economic Policy Institute pointed out that while there are currently 6.9 million fewer jobs than at the start of the Great Recession, "we should have added around 4.1 million jobs to keep pace with population growth. This means that the current gap in the labor market is roughly 11 million jobs. To close that gap within three years, we would have to add around 400,000 jobs every single month."

Even worse, the number of underemployed--those who work part time but would like a full-time job--has barely declined during the "recovery." As Shierholz writes, "In the 23 months since the end of the recession, the total number of un- or underemployed workers has decreased from 26.1 million to 24.6 million, a decline of only 1.5 million."

The picture looks grim from the statistics--but the individual stories behind the numbers are even more wrenching. As Chelsea, from Rochester, N.Y., described her situation:

"I have an associate's degree, and when I lost my union grocery job last summer, it was four months before I found anything. And that anything was Wal-Mart. I lost my health insurance, I had health issues that began to spiral out of control, and I faced an imminent eviction. Now I can only work 25 hours a week or I lose my Medicaid, without which I can't work or live."

Of course gay marriage isn't the biggest issue, but it's an issue.

Why doesn't Obama do something about jobs?

And yes, Oprah is the Anti-Christ.

That's BS. I am a Conservative Black and the truth is NEVER insulting. In fact, the truth made me free by allowing me to set myself free from Democratic imprisonment and joining the GOP.

Some of you Dem slaves who want to be free, the time is NOW! Join the rest of our growing group of Blacks in the GOP. Hurry before it's too late.

Your definition of "freedom" seems to be "slavery under delusional pretenses". I can't see how you manage to ignore the hypocrisy of your fellow Republicans.

I was relatively conservative, once. Hell, I even joined up with Jim Robinson and the Free Republic folk. But after a few years of observing their behavior towards people they don't like and merely tolerate -- foreigners, blacks, Latinos, liberals, Democrats, the poor, most government officials, etc. -- I decided that being amongst the Freepers and Republicans in general wasn't the thing for me. As an independently-minded black man, those people simply did not have my interests at heart.

Nowadays, I'm more liberally-minded and mindful of the hypocritical snakes slithering around in the GOP wicker basket.

You forgot that there are progressive liberal dems slithering around in the Democratic wicker basket.

Why is it some of you Blacks will reject GOP Whites but consider White DEMs your trusty friends when they don't give a damn about you? Hell, Obama can't even run the WH without some White Dem stabbing him in the back. He doesn't even know who he can trust!

Negroes like you are so delusional.

"No, ACORN was evil because they committed voter fraud on massive scale"

This is an outrageous lie, and a typical right-wing slur.

Acorn committed no voter fraud, their only 'crime' was to register more than one and a third million poor people to vote. There is nothing the Republican Party and its robber-baron media fears more than the proletariat exercising their democratic rights.

"Acorn verifies the legitimacy of every registration its canvassers collect. If they can't authenticate the registration, or it's incomplete or questionable in other ways, they flag that form as problematic ("fraudulent", "incomplete", et cetera). They then hand in all registration forms, even the problematic ones, to elections officials, as they are required to do by law. In almost every case where you've heard about fraud by Acorn, it's because Acorn itself notified officials about the fraud that's been perpetrated on them by rogue canvassers. Most officials who run to the media screaming "Acorn is committing fraud" know all of the above but don't bother to share those facts with the media they've run to. None of this is about voter fraud. None of it. Where any fraud has occurred, it's voter registration fraud and has resulted in exactly zero fraudulent votes."
