It's halftime at the Super Bowl. But rather than watch AARP rocker, Madonna, do her thing, I think I will do a little blogging.
I saw all the commercials so far, and this is my take: Animals- especially dogs- are really in. A-merry-ca is still in love with rap and music, and music they consider "hip" to sell things. Jar jar Binks will be back this summer in 3D .(Whhyyyy?!) And I saw Howard Stern doing his best Bull Connor imitation for another shameless NBC promotion of one of their shows.
That's pretty much it.
As for the game itself, I really have no rooting interest. The Iggles aren't there so I could care less who wins. I actually hate both of these teams.
Finally, let me end this post on a somewhat serious note. I say somewhat because the person I am going to write about is pretty much a joke.
Anyway, Newt says that his Oness and his government has launched an all out "assault" on religeon because of the HHS policy on birth control.
"Newt Gingrich upped his attacks against President Obama today over his administration's requirement that some religious hospitals offer co-pay-free birth control under the new health care law.
Gingrich's comments come after a week of outrage from the Catholic Church and his fellow GOP presidential candidates over the policy.
"This is a tremendous infringement of religious liberty," Newt Gingrich said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Every time you turn around the secular government is shrinking the rights of religious institutions in America."
While the policy was proposed in August, the issue resurfaced last week after Catholic churches across America read letters from the church's leadership last Sunday condemning the administration's policy." [Source]
I won't get into why this is a false issue from a legal perspective, but trust me, it is.
Still, I have to wonder, where was all the outrage and righteous indignation when Catholic priests were molesting young boys?
That's right, there was none. Certainly not from the people we are hearing it from now.
Now back to the game.

I will not forgive them any time soon for picking up Vick. Until that team comes under new ownership, and Vick is gone, I hope they lose, lose, lose. And I'm a Jets fan, so usually I don't mind the Eagles, heck I used to really like them. They had a fun, exciting rivalry with the rather bland Giants. Made for a good second game on Sundays in the NYC market.
Of course, I'm not picking on Vick, per se. I think he's a very good QB. I think the knock on him that he's just an uber option back is generally wrong. Personally, I believe he has been misused, putting too much on his back, even though he seems to bask in it when things are good - and they usually are with him. That's not his problem.
Heck, I'm one of those rare white guys who never blamed Cunningham for all the Eagles' disappointments back when. And I thought Cunningham was railroaded, as was done to Doug Williams before, with that old stupid myth that "blacks can't be successful QB's," a scummy little tale that hopefully lost it's scummy little edge after Limbaugh lost his scummy little MNF gig for perpetuating that racist myth. Of course I may be speaking too soon, as McNabb - the EAGLE - was already clearly a Hall of Fame QB by then... Irony is always lost on conservatives, and all the other supremists.
I understand why people may put Vick's situation in there with Cunningham, Williams, Moon, etc. There's a history there, and it's clearly still an issue, unless you live under a rock. I just think what Vick did was a disgrace and not appropriate for an NFL player. That's the crux.

I think Obama is trying to combat the idea among Blacks that he has ignored their problems and has failed to be a strong advocate for Black interests. If he is going to start taking on the powers that be, the Catholic church is a good place to start.

But, you see, Obama can pretend to "get it". Having ancestors from the same continent as the descendants of American slaves gives him the magic ability to "get it". He doesn't have to be constantly scared to insult someone while trying to compliment them by calling them intelligent or articulate, for example. Obama got a shot at something every middle class, suburban activist kid wanted while reading Toni Morrison - play savior to these wronged, wretched people and be recognized as such. He doesn't seem to pull the race card to justify setbacks in life and failures, but to prove that he is qualified to tackle issues concerning suffering, diversity and prejudice.
There is a difference. When an activist of Italian descent tells you about his black girlfriend and how much discrimination his great grandpa faced, he isn't trying to say that the man's keeping him down. He's saying that he understands your pain as the man keeps YOU down. Props for open mindness have a different feel than props for victimhood.
Almost everything I read about Obama suggests that he is an outsider, using African Americans, whom he objectified long ago, to build a certain image. It's about him, not them. I seriously doubt that their plight can be personal to him.
The pedo-priests...and the hierarchy that covered up the crimes were all pretty much the most conservative of Catholics. They were anti-modern, if you will. And this is well known to Catholics...not so much to Talibangelicals, Reconstructionists and Dominionists.

Very well explained. You are exactly right. Unfortunately, African Americans don't get it because they fail to see Obama for 'who' he really is, even though he has proven again and again he cares nothing about Blacks.
Even on some black blogs like FN or Grannystandingfortruth, bloggers and posters still defend Obama's insulting behavior toward them as "something he HAS to do to please Whites." It's a rather perverse way of thinking; a shadowy plantation mentality to justify accepting insults, shame and abuse.
No matter, most FN Negroes will defend Obama to Whites no matter what he has done to Blacks. Fortunately, there are some black bloggers and posters who are able to face reality.

More Print Three people were murdered in separate incidents during a 12-hour spate of violence in Queens over the weekend, police said.
The bloodshed first erupted at around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, when career criminal George Portillo, 31, got in a fight with an unknown gunman on 95th Street and 31st Avenue in East Corona.
Portillo was shot in the chest and died at Elmhurst Hospital.
Police said his rap sheet included arrests for rape, assault, DWI and drugs.
Another slaying occurred at 1:16 a.m. yesterday in South Jamaica, when 20-year-old Cody Kahn was fatally shot in the chest.
Cops did not know what sparked the killing.
Fewer than five hours later, police found two men shot in Hollis — a 28-year-old man slumped over the steering wheel of a Nissan Altima at 209th Place and 111th Road and a 31-year-old man on the sidewalk nearby.
Both men were rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where the 28-year-old succumbed to his injuries.

NEW ORLEANS—Officials here are considering tightening a youth curfew in the latest attempt to fight crime in a city with the nation's highest murder rate and what its mayor has called "a culture of death."
The city council is scheduled to vote later this month on whether to expand a recently strengthened curfew in the French Quarter and a nearby tourist area to the whole city.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas and other community leaders back the plan.
But opponents worry the city is treading on the rights of children with a curfew that they say won't do much to reduce crime.
Curfew rules in effect since mid-January in the French Quarter and nearby tourist district require all those 16 and under to be off the streets by 8 p.m. every day rather than merely on school nights, as was previously required.
A less-stringent citywide curfew has been in place since 1994 that allows children to stay out until 11 p.m. weekends and 9 p.m. weekdays in the summer.
New Orleans's murder rate has citizens rattled. Last year, 199 people were killed in this city of 344,000—a 14% increase over the year before.
That comes as the national murder rate continues to drop and puts the city's rate at 10 times the national average. And this year promises more bloodshed. Twenty-five people were murdered in Orleans Parish in January, according to the coroner's office.
Children have been put at risk in some of these killings, frightening parents who are pressing officials for more action.

I guess you forgot about all the "black qb's make strides" stories we get from the leftwing media every year for the past 20+ years.
The point that Rush made was McNabb was overhyped. Which he was.
For over 5 years Espn hyped McNabb more than they did qb's that won the Superbowl or the 10 or so qb's that were better than McNabb.
It was only when it became clear that McNabb wasn't going to win a Superbowl did the sports media stop the McNabb hype.
Espn and other sports media want a franchise black qb to win a Superbowl.That will help ease their white Liberal guilt.

ReplyDeleteMembers of an Atlanta street gang were filmed beating a man who was brutally assaulted because “faggots” were not allowed in their neighborhood, according to a videotape of the apparent hate crime.
The 30-second clip, posted yesterday to Worldstar Hip Hop web site, was shot outside a grocery store in Atlanta’s Pittsburgh neighborhood.
The business, located at 1029 McDaniel Street SW, is a popular congregating spot for members of the Pittsburgh Jack City Gang (or “PBJC”). The group has also used the name “Jack City 1029.”
As seen above, the video opens with an unseen cameraman and a second man outside the grocery store. The second man announces, “Round one. Jack City. No faggots.”
Then, after a diminutive man exits the grocery, an assailant approaches him from behind and delivers a brutal punch to the side of the victim’s head.
The man’s cell phone flies from his hand and he crumples to the ground.
The victim is then set upon by three men who punch and stomp him while he tries to cover his head. One of the attackers--who is wearing a shirt with “Jack Gang” imprinted on the back--even strikes the victim in the head with a tire.
As the man is beaten, the giggling cameraman announces, four times, “No faggots in Jack City.” An onlooker can be heard saying, “No faggot, man.”
The video ends after one assailant picks up the victim’s cell phone and then punches the man in the head while holding the device.
A YouTube video of the PBJC gang (posted in mid-2010) shows young men outside the McDaniel Street grocery store (which can be seen here in a Google Street View photo).
They brag about stealing necklaces, display gang signs, and refer to themselves as “goons.” One man describes himself as a “wild dog,” while another says, “I’m the Tasmanian Devil.”
While the beating video does not indicate when it was shot, Worldstar’s trademark clips of street mayhem are usually uploaded shortly after they were recorded.

A recent rash of violence continues in Harrisburg. Two of the latest incidents seemed to have no motive, other than just hurting random people for the fun of it.
There were two such attacks Wednesday afternoon in the Uptown section of Harrisburg.
Police said one happened around 3:30 at the corner of North 4th and Woodbine Streets. They said about six black males, about 14 to 17-years-old, ran up to a 55-year-old man from behind, punched him in the face, and knocked him to the ground. Nothing was stolen.
The other incident on Wednesday occurred around 5:00 at the intersection of North 3rd and Schuylkill Streets. Police said witnesses reported three young black males, again between 14 and 17-years-old, knocked a 60-year-old man off his bicycle and then punched and kicked him. Again nothing was stolen.
Harrisburg City Councilman Brad Koplinski said there has been increased violence in several parts of the city. He said it's strange that it's happening during the winter.
"Generally you see some increase during the summer," Koplinski said. "To have it happen in the winter is really an aberration and what we've seen is really concerning."

When you take a trip across America and see what is going on today, you start to wonder what it’s political leaders are on when they give their rosy forecasts and accounts of the current and future state of the country. George Bush Jr shares Obama’s experience as being a former alcoholic and drug user as well as son of a US Government leader, helped reverse the economic, technological and fiscal gains in America created during the Clinton Administration (to somewhat lead to what we have now), started a war with Iraq (a nation whom had never killed an American soldier before the gulf war) based on bogus reports of weapons of mass destruction, invaded Afghanistan (to fight an army that America once trained to fight the Russians), often made decisions to help promote the oil industry and helped create illusionary economic growth through financial de-regulation (that popped in 2008) to name a few items.
Comparing the legacy of these two Ivey league Presidents above it seems that they are in a tie for their achievements (or failures). The only difference is that it took George Bush 2 terms (or 8 years) to create such havoc and Obama has done so in less than 1 term.

What I heard is that the democrat judge threw it out based on a quite a twisted ruling. Is it being appealed?

I think Black news always reports alternate versions of things, either that or its somethign to do with comprehension levels. Obama defied the law and the court case, tried to get the DA to just dismiss the case, judge said no. It isn't about him being an American it's about his father being a Kenyan, making Barack Hussein Obama not a natural born citizen. For whatever reason the judge ruled in Obamas favor even though Obama defied the court as a King can do, the evidence for his use of a false SS number proved valid and we know he isn't a natural born citizen. So, I guess this is US law under AA.

In 2009, the Indiana Court of Appeals (“Indiana Court”) addressed facts and issues similar to those before this Court. In Arkeny, the plaintiffs sought to prevent certification of Mr. Obama as an eligible candidate for president because his is not a natural born citizen. The plaintiffs argued, as the Plaintiffs argue before this Court, that “there is a very clear distinction between a ‘citizen of the United States’ and a ‘natural born Citizens,’ and the difference involves having [two] parent of U.S. citizenship, owning no foreign allegiance.” The Indiana Court rejected the argument that Mr. Obama was ineligible, stating that children born within the United States are natural born citizens regardless of the citizenship of their parents. The Court finds the decision and analysis of Arkeny persuasive.

ReplyDeleteI don't see the words "natural born" in there PilotX. There is a difference between a citizen and a natural born citizen.
The only time the US Supreme Court ever did define the class of persons who were POTUS eligible under Article 2 Section 1 was in Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162 (1874), wherein it was held:
“The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.” Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162, 168.
There’s a quote for you. It really exists. And it tells you exactly who are natural-born citizens; those born in the country of parents who are citizens. The words are plain-spoken and self-evident. There are two classes of persons discussed in the above quotation. Those born in the country of citizen parents were labeled by the Court as “natives or natural-born citizens”, but these were also further identified as being “distinguished from aliens or foreigners”.
Obama is a citizen, but as his father was a foreigner, he is not a natural born citizen.
