John is to Mitt what Hillary is to Barack.

As American embassies in the Middle East continue to burn, and the "Arab Spring" turns into the winter of our discontent, we have to ask ourselves one important question: Who do we want to be our Secretary of State? Do we want Hillary Rodham Clinton, or do we want John Bolton? Mr. Bolton is the man most likely to be pegged for that position if Mitt Romney wins in November.

"One of Mitt Romney’s top campaign advisers (and potential Secretary of State if Obama loses) has such inadequate understanding of the Iranian issue, and is so belligerently wrong on the fundamentals, that it should frighten any observer of the 2012 race. In his latest piece at the Weekly Standard, John Bolton says that negotiations are “delusional” and that our only option at this point is to launch a war against Iran. And he’s not kidding." [Read more]

This might explain the brash imperious posture Mitt is taking when it comes to foreign policy. In case you have been only watching tasteless reality shows on television of late, let me cue you in on where Mitt stands on foreign policy:

Mitt wants to increase military spending by at least two trillion dollars--- according to one estimate--- over the next decade. This is troubling, since, according to him, he plans to cut taxes. Combine this with his Neoconservative policy advisers like the aforementioned Mr. Bolton, and you can see that recipe for disaster just brewing in the pot.

Mitt has declared that when he is president America will be stronger and will deal more forcefully with everyone from Russia to Iran. It is no secret that he will be willing to go to war with Iran, because he has declared himself to be our warrior in chief. No apologies from this guy. He will not apologize for America. (BTW, I would love to see a clip of Obama apologizing for America. This apology is more elusive and mysterious than "Big Foot". And yet I hear these republicans talking about it all the time.)

I love what Ron Westgard had to say about this subject:

"After stumbling through Britain on a recent tour, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney then landed in Israel with bugles sounding and war drums rolling, Iran in his sights. Now he is critical of President Barack Obama for his alleged weakness in the face of the attack on our consulate in Libya.
As with former President George W. Bush, who sounded the trumpets for the invasion of Iraq, Romney would, of course, be safe in Washington, D.C., while others serve on any new battlefield. I suggest we skip new wars with Iran and Libya until we have paid for Iraq and Afghanistan.

It’s obvious Romney wants to prove his manhood before the electorate, perhaps as a way of halting the current slide in his poll numbers. He could have proved it in Vietnam, but he found a way to do his service in southern France. Romney supported the Vietnam War — just not enough to get involved, as he used student deferments and missionary status to stay well away." [More]

Mitt, in a speech, gave us some insight into how his administration would approach foreign policy:

"My foreign policy has three fundamental branches: first, confidence in our cause, a recognition that the principles America was based upon are not something we shrink from or apologise for, that we stand for those principles," Romney said.

"The second is clarity in our purpose, which is that when we have a foreign policy objective, we describe it honestly and clearly to the American people, to Congress and to the people of the world," he said.

"And number three is resolve in our might, that in those rare circumstances where we decide it's essential for us to apply military might, that we do so with overwhelming force, that we do so in the clarity of a mission, understanding the nature of the US interest involved, understanding when the mission would be complete, what will be left behind us when that mission has been terminated," Romney said."

"Clarity of a mission". Sound familiar? Yes, of course it does; that's what the guy who got us into Iraq said. Unfortunately that mission wasn't so clear, and we are still paying the price for it. Mitt says that he will use "overwhelming force"  to "apply military might". That force better wipe out over a billion people, or the mission will not be "terminated" for generations to come. A "mission" of this sort isn't like an employee you don't need. You can't just terminate it when you feel like it.

If Mitt does become president, he is going to learn very quickly that the structured boardrooms of corporate America-- with their set rules and regulations-- is nothing like the real world he will have to deal with as its most powerful leader.

Robert Mugabe's latest rant: 'Jamaicans are drunkards and pot smokers who don't work'

'Drunks': Mugabe said Jamaican men had no interest in higher education and the country's universities were filled with women

Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has infuriated Jamaican men by labelling them chronic drunkards and unambitious pot smokers.

He claimed they had 'no interest in higher education' and are 'always drunk', during his controversial speech last week at the University of Zimbabwe in Harare.

'The men want to sing and do not go to colleges, some are dreadlocked, let us not go there,' said Mugabe in several unscripted asides.

He alternated between English and the Shona language during the three-hour talk, but his comments were corroborated by reporters afterwards.

His comments are now making waves across the Caribbean island, where Jamaicans are debating the matter on street corners, in letters to newspapers and on radio talk shows.

Over the years, Mugabe has repeatedly made disparaging remarks about Rastafarians, whom he whom he once described as having 'moths and mud' in their hair.

Scary! Hollywood should replace horror movies with a film on Bolton and Mitt's foreign policy and that will be enough to scare the dung out of anyone and guarantee an Oscar for the most scariest flick of the year. I swear!

Both Mitt and Bolten can sit in the comfort of their cozy office and practice golf or pretend balled up paper is a basketball and shoot hoop, while our poor children go out on the battlefield to lose an arm, leg, half of their body, traumatized, or die in behalf of some dung Bolton and Mitt want to start because to them the poor and middleclass people are dispensable.

Why don't we change the way a war is fought. Instead of sending our men and women out to fight in their behalf, why don't we just let Mitt and Bolten have a one on one fight with the leaders of other countries.

Those folk are Crazy. So what do you think Obama should do? Do you think we need to worry about Iran getting the bomb and delivery system worked out? What then? Maybe they won't use it and just want respect? The sanctions aint really worked they issued waivers on most all countries and others just aint paying any attention.

Maybe Obama can go over there and talk to them again and let them know we just want peace?

  7. Bolton would be huge improvement on our current Secretary of State. In fact, he'd be huge improvement over at least the last five.

Hillary needs to resign over this Middle East fiasco. The Independent is now reporting that the state department was warned 48 hours ahead of these attacks, but did nothing. The blood of those dead Americans is on her hands.

Classified documents listing the names of Libyans cooperating with America has fallen into enemy hands, and the killings have already begun.

The stories we are hearing are mostly lies too. The embassy was attacked by 400 men, and the attack had gone of for four hours when the ambassador tried to flee.

Four hours, and yet no help came from the Libyan government. Despite the evidence they were in on it, Obama thanked the President of Libya today anyway.

    What a disaster.

The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the “safe house” in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed “safe”.

Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and “lockdown”, under which movement is severely restricted.

It would seem this information would be included in security briefings, but the Empty Chair has no use for those. Maybe we can get a mantra going: Hillary lied, Chris Stevens died!

There is growing belief that the attack was in revenge for the killing in a drone strike in Pakistan of Mohammed Hassan Qaed, an al-Qa’ida operative who was, as his nom-de-guerre Abu Yahya al-Libi suggests, from Libya, and timed for the anniversary of the 11 September attacks.

But the media keeps insisting it’s some dopey video. They can’t be lying to us, can they? You know we figure since Obama isn’t bothered much with his day job maybe he can fly over to Cairo and give another important speech. Maybe between fundraisers with Beyonce and appearances on Letterman.

White House, Press Corps Use Mid-East Crisis to Distract From Failing Economy

Barrack Obama and members of the institutionalized “progressive” left smear machine, otherwise known as the mainstream media, launched a series of seemingly coordinated attacks on GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The White House and the press uncannily echoed each other while criticizing Romney for speaking in opposition to the Cairo Embassy’s apology to Islamists for “efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims” on the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

Obama attacked Romney for having “a tendency to shoot first and aim later”. After firing that salvo, Obama was off to yet another fund raising event in Las Vegas, where he furthered the assault by saying “It appears that Gov. Romney didn’t have his facts right”. Meanwhile, Obama’s campaign assailed Romney for using the “tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya” to “launch a political attack”.

It seems that for mysterious, unexplained reasons it has somehow slipped the minds of Obama and the Obama campaign that he politicized foreign policy back in 2008 by attacking George W. Bush and then GOP presidential candidate John McCain for troop deaths in Iraq and their support of the Iraq War.

Not only have the media and the White House been singing from the same sheet music, a discussion caught on an open microphone and recorded immediately before Romney’s Wednesday morning press conference clearly revealed the press corps coordinating hostile questioning aimed at discrediting Romney and knocking him off stride.

While the White House and the “progressive” Party Pravda were busy diverting the public’s attention towards Mitt Romney and away from the sagging economy, new claims for jobless benefits rose again, while a spike in wholesale gasoline costs drove consumer prices higher.

Economists had predicted claims for unemployment benefits would rise to 370,000. However according to the Labor Department, initial claims rose to a seasonally adjusted 382,000. That is the highest in two months. Consistent with a pattern seen since Obama took office, figures from the prior week were again revised upwards, showing 2,000 more applications than originally reported.

For the first time since the Great Depression, the officially reported unemployment rate has been stuck above 8 percent for over three years.

The producer price index, as measured by the Labor Department, jumped 1.7 percent in August. That increase was the biggest gain in three years. Gas prices soared by 13.6 percent. Steep increases in eggs and dairy costs drove food prices up 0.9 percent.

The median income of American households continues to decline on Barack Obama’s watch, dropping to its lowest level since 1995. According to Census Bureau data, 2011 median income fell to $50,054. That is 1.5 per cent below the 2010 level and 4.1 per cent below what the median income level was when Obama took office.

This highlights the extent of the damage inflicted upon America’s middle class by Obama’s failed economic policies.

    Forbes

The U.S. is looking for ways to beef up security in Libya, following the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Two warships and 50 marines have been dispatched, as a first move. One item that ought to be added to the list: Could something be done to stop Iranian-linked cargo ships, blacklisted by the U.S., from calling at Libyan ports?

Over the past two months, at least three Iranian-linked container ships, all blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury, have called at the Libyan port of Benghazi. One of them, the Parmis, put in at Benghazi Anchorage as recently as August 30. Since then, it has since been meandering along the Libyan coast, going west to the Libyan port of Misurata, then doubling back east this week, past the Libyan port of Sirte. For the Parmis, this is a voyage that began in early August at the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, thence to the United Arab Emirates, then Egypt, and on to Libya. This repeats a similar circuit, in which the Parmis sailed in June from Iran, calling in early July at Benghazi.

That’s not to suggest any ties between Iran, or the Parmis in particular, and Tuesday’s attack on the U.S. post in Benghazi. The full tale of who master-minded or helped stage that armed assault remains to be uncovered. But whatever answers might eventually emerge to those urgent questions, it seems reasonable to warn that amid the chaos and carnage bedeviling Libya, port calls from sanctioned Iranian vessels do not augur well.

But this much is clear: All three of these container ships, before sailing for Libya, called at the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, where the container terminal is operated by a terror-linked Iranian company called Tidewater Middle East Co. Last year the U.S. Treasury blacklisted Tidewater as “a port operating company owned by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that has been used by the IRGC for illicit shipments.”

It’s worth adding that under U.S. jurisdiction, it is potentially a crime to have any dealings with these ships. Anyone outside U.S. jurisdiction who engages in business with them is at risk of being cut off from commerce with the U.S.

In remarks Wednesday on the deaths of American personnel in Benghazi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reaffirmed that “A free and stable Libya is still in America’s interest and security, and we will not turn our back on that.” Surely, regardless of who was behind the Sept. 11 attack, the aspirations for a free and stable Libya are better served without the presence of blacklisted IRISL vessels dispatched from terror-linked ports in Iran. Given the costs and risks shouldered by Americans to help free Libya from the tyranny of Moammar Gaddafi, it would reflect better on Libyans — both in their own interests, and those of their benefactors — were they to honor U.S. sanctions on Iran by turning away its ships. Surely it would be in America’s interest to try much harder to help Libya do that?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yesterday, we learned that there were no Marines protecting our Ambassador to Libya despite State Department warnings about violence and kidnappings in the Benghazi. We already knew Al Qaeda was coming on strong there. But we relied on locals for support and now we know the locals betrayed us as they have in the past in Afghanistan and Iraq too.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Night before last, the President condemned Mitt Romney in harsher tones than he condemned the rioters. It took him until sun up yesterday to condemn them.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the media spent much time condemning the Coptic Christians for their movie, but we now know the movie had been out for months and we also know the riots were orchestrated in advance. We also know the attack on the American consulate in Libya used the riots as cover for the attack.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a man who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, called an American civilian to ask him to stop exercising his first amendment rights.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

We also now know that the President, close to 60% of the time, has opted for printed intelligence briefings, which this White House thinks are as useful as an intelligence officer in the room who the President can probe, prod, challenge, and question.

But the media wanted to focus on Mitt Romney.

And in focusing on Mitt Romney, finally, of all the places, Slate and Dave Weigel finally point out that Mitt Romney’s gaffe was no gaffe, it was a consistent view of foreign policy foreign to the ears of the political press. He, I, and many others really do think Barack Obama is an apologist. We really do think his speech to Cairo after his entrance to the White House was part of a world apology tour. And we sure as hell think his actions in the past year to foster the Arab Spring were the actions of a naive fool.

"The U.S. media should be all over the failure to protect our diplomats in the Middle East on September 11 of all days. Yet all we received was collusion at Romney’s press conference and snide high-fiving at how successful they were at keeping the focus off of Obama’s failures.

Our position in the Middle East never has been as bad as it is today, at least not in my lifetime. The threat to Israel never has been greater.

And our media never has been as complicit as it is now.

Update: The Obama administration has offered a Clintonian denial that it had “actional intelligence,” which is a non-denial in reality, as pointed out by John Hinderaker:

Of course, the Independent story didn’t say that the Obama administration had “actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent.” It said that “the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted,” but did nothing to step up security. The administration’s denial does not contradict the Independent’s statement, and the fact that the denial is phrased so narrowly suggests that the Independent’s report is, in fact, accurate.

Remember how the media has treated non-specific warnings of an attack in the months leading up to 9/11? Bush should have figured it out, they demanded in hindsight. Let’s see if that standard is applied to Obama."

Or the dollar crashing or China and Russia/Iran buying up all the gold they can Woo-ho, I mean it's not like the world will stop using the dollar as a global currency just because someone can print as much as they like and devalue what we owe them, no, not at all - If they did we could just call them racist. Just think what we can accomplish with four more years, it's gonna be the land of milk and honey!!!

Thanks for clearing all that up for me. I feel so much better about Obamas chances now. It's in the bag, money bag baby, lots of money bags.

You guys don't mind paying a LOT more for food and gas do you? It's for a good cause after all, have to get Obama re-elected. Never mind that 16 trillion in debt that just got a whopping increase with QE III, Don't worry about what happens if he does win. We will deal with that later. I mean every government agency like SS and IRS departments bought millions of rounds of hollow point bullets so they must have some type of plans to ahem protect us.

Oh and that savings retirement account you might have.....plan to save more or retire 5 years later if it even matters then. It just lost a ton of value. But don't worry, Benny said he will continue to print in blocks of 40 trillion as needed or until the dollar is useless paper which seems pretty close.

Shawn Turner, spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, emailed: “This is absolutely wrong. We are not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent.”

The administration also denied, incredibly, that the Benghazi attack was “premeditated.”

It was all just a co-inky-dink right Hillary?

Oh now Barack didn't arm Marines at an embassy. Uh no that was Reagan when over 200 Americans died in an attack.

Okay bonehead. That attack occurred at the Marine Corps barracks in Beirut, Lebamon in October of 1983. It was the FIRST suicide attack and it was committed by muslim terrorists in the newly formed terrorist group -- Hezbollah, funded and organized by Iran.

241 Marines were killed when a truck bomb was detonated outside their barracks around 4 a.m.

There was no armed assault by an invading force. Just two operatives in a truck supposedly making deliveries.

Unfortunately, Reagan did not respond as he should have. It was a low point of his administration.

How come Bush wasn't labled weak when 8 attacks occured on his watch?

    What 8 attacks? Which Bush?

Bush 41 gave Saddam an ass-kicking, and Bush 43 ran him out of town, destroyed his regime and started Iraq on the road to democracy and prosperity.

Oh that's right, we only trot out that lable when a Dem is in the WH.

Yeah. How did Clinton respond to the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993? He didn't.

What did Clinton do in response to the al-Qaeda bombings of two American embassies in Africa? He shot a cruise missile into some desolate region and blew a hole in the ground.

What did Clinton do in response to the bombing of the USS Cole? Nothing.

What did Clinton do in response to the kooky Branch Davidians in Texas? He had about 80 of them, including children, slaughtered in a western-style shoot-out with federal agents, all due to the urging of that grotesque, pipe-smoking manster, Janet Reno.

But Granny, even the Obama adminstration has dropped the ridiculous idea that these attacks were due to some amateur movie:

Senior officials are increasingly convinced, however, that the ferocious nature of the Benghazi attack, in which rocket-propelled grenades were used, indicated it was not the result of spontaneous anger due to the video, called Innocence of Muslims. Patrick Kennedy, Under-Secretary at the State Department, said he was convinced the assault was planned due to its extensive nature and the proliferation of weapons.

    @Granny:

This film was an obscure bit of nonsense that was purposefully sought out by radical Muslims to whip up anti-American sentiment.

The trailer for the "Innocence of Muslims" would have never seen the light of day in the West, it would have been lost among the flood of other silly and banal videos that populate sites like Youtube.

Of course, somehow, a radical Muslim cleric in Egypt with a satellite station acquired the clip, dubbed it over in Arabic, and aired it, claiming that the film was a product of the American government and part of a wider Jewish conspiracy against Islam. Of course, it fits into a wider pattern of obscure “anti-Islam” quotes or images by Westerners being used as a pretext by Muslims to riot and murder (think of the Danish cartoons, the Newsweek Koran flushing story, Pope Benedict’s negative characterization of Muhammad, and Terry Jones’ Koran burning). As such this is nothing new, or even note worthy on its own at this point.

The more important part of this event is that an American ambassador was so ruthlessly murdered by the same Muslim militants that the U.S. had overthrow Qaddafi to help bring into power.

Why do so few find it so troublesome that America is acting in Libya, Syria, and elsewhere to fund, arm, and empower the allies of the same men that attacked New York eleven years ago?

Is it not also a strange coincidence that the ambassador met his demise in a manner similar to that of the Libyan dictator he had helped dethrone?

St. Paul warned that whatever a man sows is what he will later reap. What has the Obama Administration sown in Libya and elsewhere in the Middle East?

Pure fantasy. It would first take a sustained air superiority-supremacy campaign to knock out Iran's multiply redundant and partially mobile integrated air defense system with the most advanced Chinese copies of our own technology, and then a sustained target-servicing campaign to take out what we can of what we know of their nuclear effort, most of which are in hardened deeply underground complexes close to major population centers.

Then we have the other half of the equation: the Iranian reaction. Start with the Persian Gulf turning into a free fire and mined zone and the energy without which western life dies carried on shipping expensively escorted and insured, and the Hormuz Straits a gauntlet of torpedo boats and land based anti-shipping cruise missiles. A Hezbolla missile war on Tel Aviv and clandestine cel activations throughout the world. The long & painfully well known worldwide terrorist capabilities of the Iranian Pasdaren. A new sectarian bloodbath in Iraq, and the burning enmity of the entire Persian nation instead of unpopular and increasingly isolated and brittle regime stalwarts.

Even in a best case scenario, oil hits $400+ a barrel in days and the fragile Western economies go deeply into recession from the oilshock, terror plots that only a sovereign power could sponsor and control bring the war home in 9/11-7/7-Mumbai intensity, further shocking the economy, and we have yet another decade plus war to fight, weather we want to or not.

@Granny: I believe racial solidarity is neither good or bad. It depends on what is done with it. The fact is, racial solidarity exists and will always exist because people do share certain traits with members of their race. That doesn’t mean they share traits only with members of their race or that they must live all their lives in the company of their own race. Not at all. But there is a deeply-ingrained group connection.

Racial solidarity can be used for good or ill. Blacks have used it in recent years to destroy both themselves and whites. They have used it as a way of claiming moral superiority over whites and of avoiding their own fallibility. In doing so, they threaten our culture at large. To destroy the self-confidence of whites is to destroy the foundations of our society. But, whites are guilty in this area too as they have eagerly embraced suicidal thinking.

Whites are also guilty of grave wrongdoing toward blacks. They have abandoned the moral laws that hold family and society together. This has had much more dire consequences for blacks than it has had for whites. By refusing to recognize that there are differences between the races, whites have made things worse for blacks. The greatest thing whites could do for blacks (and for themselves) would be to reject sexual promiscuity, defend traditional marriage, abhor feminism and promote Christianity. I am not an Obama supporter obviously and believe he is actually anti-black.

I think the issue is that you shouldn't have voted at all, Granny. Not just you, but all women. It was granting suffrage to women that started the downward spiral of this country.

Women want someone or someTHING to take care of them. For this reason, women tend to lean socialist, and are generally in favor of the expansion of government when the government promises to “provide” for them.

This healthy feminine dynamic has been perverted by suffrage to systematically replace men with the government as the providers in society. A woman no longer has any need of a man. Marriage no longer serves any practical purpose. A woman can whore around and have as many fatherless children as she pleases, and Pimp Daddy Government will always be there to provide.

Men have learned well from this, too. Men can also slut it up to their heart’s content knowing that the government will take care of their “women” and raise their children for them. Fathering children no longer binds a man to a woman in any way.

Men didn’t vote to societally castrate themselves, and never would have. No – in order for this system to have come about, women’s suffrage was an absolute necessity. Women themselves voted the system into place which objectifies and devalues both them AND their children.

On the issue of disenfranchisement, I believe that the 19th amendment actually DISenfranchised more people than it enfranchised. Many, many married couples quickly found themselves voting against one another. The man would tend to vote for the more conservative platform, and the woman would vote for the more socialist platform. When this happened, the effective result was the nullification of BOTH individuals’ votes. What this did was massively reduce the voting influence of the married household, and magnify the voting influence of the unmarried – and the unmarried tend to be younger, and thus more stupid, and thus vote for big government. It was all part of the plan.

I’ve probably ticked you off with this comment. Here is the question I would ask you: Why? Why are you ticked off? As a woman, the reason you are ticked off is because you put yourself and your desire to assert your will above the well-being of society in general. I don’t feel that way. I would give up my vote in a HEARTBEAT if it meant that right-ordered marriage, family and sexuality was restored to our culture. I would rather that my little female namesakes grow up in a world where they did not have the right to vote, but were treated with dignity and respect, were addressed as “ma’am”, had doors held for them, and wherein men stood up when they entered the room. I would rather they be courted properly and then marry men who would never, ever leave them, and would consider it their sacred duty and honor to protect and provide for their wives and their children because he LOVED them. Oh, HELL yes. I’ll give up my vote in exchange for that any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Why wouldn’t you?

In addition, as I have seen this monolithic mentality (politically speaking) ravage our communities through the election of people who subsidize irresponsibility and anti-family pathologies, I have seen very little come from black solidarity since the grand days of the civil rights movement. This solidarity has degenerated to self-suicide for the black family.

The writer "Ann" above has a point about familial disenfranchisement. I watched in 2008 as women I know personally ran to vote for Obama while their husbands voted for McCain. It was then that I started to re-evaluate my thoughts on the issue.

We can agree to disagree. I didn’t think the writer was saying that all single women are young, are mothers living off the system, or don’t know the power of a vote. For my part, I’d rather the vote be reserved for net taxpayers, business owners, property owners, those who are serving or have served in the military, and married or widowed heads of households. In other words, those with skin in the game regardless of gender. Singling out women as a group to bestow the vote on was an error in my opinion.

Oh we gots one of them know it all do nothings.

So whats the solution? You know what can't be done, what can be done? How high do you think Oil will go when Iran announces it has the bomb and......

    ROFL!

Field, I swear your trolls have more personalities than Sybil. Wait do you think Sybil is really the one posting? Now, they’ve switched from being a male to being a woman.

Jesus, it is hilarious how they think that they can pull the wool over folk's eye with their BS.

Ann and Laura , you are truly hanging in the wrong circles. In person, I'm still referred to as Ma'am by males and they open doors for me, carry my bags, and I'm treated with the utmost respect. My husband was loving, caring and showed me the utmost respect when he was living.

The only ones that have disrespected me or called me out my names have been those men on the right, but then they don't show respect for any of our ordinary citizens. Trust me you have convinced me and made a believer out of me about one thing today and that is that men on the right do treat their women like stepford wives.

BTW, Ann why are you participating in a conversation regarding government since you're so willing to give up your right to vote. Look like you would be chained to the stove and be ready to jump at hubby's command, instead of wasting your time in something that is of no importance to you. Me, myself and I am going to continue to fight for right to vote. Why do people who claim to to hate big government insist on running for government offices?

    1. Feminism, and “the right to vote”, didn’t cause the problem It has simply enabled US citizens to unrepentantly indulge in the types of sinful behavior toward which there is already an inclination. The depravity of the human heart is allowed free reign when there is no internal guide or externally enforced consequences for wrongdoing, and our current laws reflect such ugliness.

2.It is disgusting that our govt rewards couples for having children out of wedlock.

    3. My Aussie SIL gave me a talking -to about the American attitude regarding “the right to vote” and the poor rate of turnout. She informed me that where she comes from, it is neither viewed as a right nor a privilege, but a responsibility of citizens to be informed and active. While I appreciate the realization of the serious nature of the citizens duty, I suppose her view comes with its own set of difficulties.

    4. A friend of mine believes the woman’s right to vote was a bad plan. But, she says that since we’ve been given this ability, she uses hers to reinforce her husbands choice. I tend to agree with her (and your) perspective on that.

    5. IMO, Ann's closing statement is brilliant.

Women don’t need to vote in order to revolutionize the consistency of our society. We need to re-discover what it means to be women.

With our embassies going up in smoke all over the Muslim world thanks to their groveling policies, you’ve got to wonder just how useless our “leaders” are. Here is the answer, compliments of White House Press Secretary Jay Carney:

“We also need to understand that this is a fairly volatile situation and it is in response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration, or the American people, but it is in response to a video, a film that we have judged to be reprehensible and disgusting.”

That is, the official administration stand is to pretend that our embassies burning and our ambassadors being murdered are not directed at the USA. Obama et al. take zero responsibility for the crisis, and rather than trying to do something about it, are openly siding with the Islamic mobs by denouncing the movie transparently being used by Muslims and their liberal media allies as a flimsy pretext for the anti-American violence.

Nothing could be worthy of more profound contempt than the mentality that put people like Obama in charge of our country.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Rather than explain why the so-called “President” has been fundraising in Las Vegas rather than attempting to deal with this crisis, White House spokesturd Jay Carney regurgitates enemy propaganda by blaming it on a movie.

Surely the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, sitting atop the entire US Armed Forces, is addressing the threat. But no; Martin Dempsey is a political figure who sides with Carney in pretending that the enemy is not hordes of maniacal Muslims hell-bent on the eradication of Western Civilization but some obscure film:

General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, called a Florida pastor on Wednesday and asked him to withdraw his support for a film whose portrayal of the Prophet Mohammad has been linked to violent protests — including one that ended with the death of America’s envoy to Libya.

Having identified the threat to American security, the Obama Regime has asked YouTube to remove the video, in an obvious violation of the liberties our government exists only to secure, and in an equally obvious attempt to placate Muslims by acceding to their demands — that is, to reward them for burning our embassies and killing our citizens. Our dhimmi rulers have even released the identity of the filmmaker, facilitating the inevitable Muslim attempts on his life, and sicced the FBI on him.

...and then a sustained target-servicing campaign to take out what we can of what we know of their nuclear effort, most of which are in hardened deeply underground complexes close to major population centers.

Once again, you'll believe anything. Their atomic pile is a Potemkin Village, run by their own Wizard of Oz.

Then we have the other half of the equation: the Iranian reaction.

Whoa now. Yeah, that'll be scary.

Start with the Persian Gulf turning into a free fire and mined zone...

The Iranian "navy" would find itself sunk in an hour.

...and the energy without which western life dies carried on shipping expensively escorted and insured...

Very little oil from the Persian Gulf flows to the US. Meanwhile, it's the THREAT of War that makes the price jump. Actual war makes it drop.

When the US prepared to kick Saddam's ass in 1990-91, the price of oil rose to a near record high.

As soon as our attack began, the price of oil crashed. DOWN.

Why? Because everyone in the world knows the US military can wipe the floor with any so-called military pretending to defend these pathetic Islamic nations.

...and the Hormuz Straits a gauntlet of torpedo boats and land based anti-shipping cruise missiles....

    Wrong again.

...A Hezbolla missile war on Tel Aviv and clandestine cel activations throughout the world.

And Israel jumps on, continuing the merciless pummelling of these hapless Iranian fools.

The long & painfully well known worldwide terrorist capabilities of the Iranian Pasdaren.

Doesn't matter when the home office has been reduced to dust.

A new sectarian bloodbath in Iraq, and the burning enmity of the entire Persian nation instead of unpopular and increasingly isolated and brittle regime stalwarts.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you got your white flag in your pocket? Get over there and surrender.

Even in a best case scenario, oil hits $400+ a barrel in days...

It won't, but if it did, then oil would match the price of solar energy, which would please the hell out of Obama.

...and the fragile Western economies go deeply into recession from the oilshock...

Nope. The Iranians would cave in a day or two, and in no time, global production would adjust.

...terror plots that only a sovereign power could sponsor and control bring the war home in 9/11-7/7-Mumbai intensity,...

    Only in your imagination.

Brotherhood’s tweet in English: “We r relieved none of @USEmbassyCairo staff were harmed & hope US-Eg relations will sustain turbulence of Tuesday’s events”

US response to the latter: “Thanks. By the way, have you checked out your own Arabic feeds? I hope you know we read those too.”

Below the fold is a NSFW image. It is obscenely offensive. It was posted by The Onion in one of the most brilliant satirical statements about the cultural difference between the Muslim world and everyone else I’ve ever seen. As The Onion writes:

The image of the Hebrew prophet Moses high-fiving Jesus Christ as both are having their erect penises vigorously masturbated by Ganesha, all while the Hindu deity anally penetrates Buddha with his fist, reportedly went online at 6:45 p.m. EDT, after which not a single bomb threat was made against the organization responsible, nor did the person who created the cartoon go home fearing for his life in any way. Though some members of the Jewish, Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist faiths were reportedly offended by the image, sources confirmed that upon seeing it, they simply shook their heads, rolled their eyes, and continued on with their day.

The FBI will not launch an investigation to find out the identity of the artist involved. The offices of The Onion will not be besieged by angry Christians, demanding death to the editors. No heads will be cut off. No Internet-wide debate will be sparked on whether or not this image should be reproduced. No calls for the arrest and imprisonment of the author will be made.

But, if you were to add a bearded fellow with a turban into this depraved scene, we all know the response would be far different.

So, you can take your multicultural "no culture is better than any other" nonsense and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

"women - making women look like grabby, selfish sluts who want nothing but the rest of the country to pay for condoms and birth control pills is sure to help them a lot." ~~anonymous~~

"It was granting suffrage to women that started the downward spiral of this country." ~~Anonymous alias Ann~~

"A woman can whore around and have as many fatherless children as she pleases, and Pimp Daddy Government will always be there to provide."

"Women themselves voted the system into place which objectifies and devalues both them AND their children."~~Anonymous alias Ann~~

Another reason I would never vote for a Republican. Their opinion of women is degrading, denigrating, disgusting; and just down right repugnant, gutter low. I guess, their preference for being undercover pedophiles has a lot to do with it.

"We need to re-discover what it means to be women."

Oh my, this is more serious than I thought at first. The Republican's women do not know what it's like to be women? Sad! You best come on over to the Democrat's side because their women know what it's like to be women and they love the freedom in being women and not having to be programmed robotic servants.

Democrat men value and are proud of the fact that their women are qualified able to think for themselves. Because Democrat men are not insecure in who they are. Democrat women do not have to act like plastic in public or look like an arm piece. Their men are not insulting them on the airwaves and calling them ho's and blaming them for their mistakes either.
