The "savage" one will never apologize.

"But we must be clear-eyed even in our grief. This was an attack by a small and savage group, not the people or government of Libya,"

I don't think that the "small and savage group" Secretary of State Clinton was referring to was Mitt Romney and his band of Neoconservative advisors.

But still, there was Mitt, just a day after September 11 he was attacking the president for the death of an American ambassador by a "savage group" of religious extremists on foreign soil. I think that rather than trying to comprehend the true nature of the act that killed the Ambassador to Libya, the professional campaigner in chief thought that he saw a political opening and jumped right into it. But Mitt would be wise to follow an old trial lawyer adage of never going into something unless he knows what's on the other side.

"Then all hell broke loose and four Americans were murdered in Benghazi. (AFTER the initial American Embassy statement)

But by 10 p.m. Boston time, before the last beacon of light dimmed at Ground Zero, before Taps had finished echoing through Lower Manhattan, before the last grieving family member had gone to bed on a politics- and politician-free

9/11 commemoration, Romney headquarters issued an embargoed statement to the media on the barbaric attacks.

The campaign okayed its release at 12:01 a.m. Sept. 12."

"I'm outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi," Romney said. "It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks." [Source]

Oh my! I wonder how the family of John Christopher Stevens feels. Did Mr. Romney even offer his condolences to the Ambassador and others who were killed? Outrage was the mood of the day; not sorrow or empathy. No wonder Mitt had Clint Eastwood do his empty chair act at his convention. I guess he is trying to channel his inner tough guy.

Anyway, rather than back down from his disgraceful and inglorious statements, Mitt has doubled down on his actions from earlier in the day.

"Their administration spoke. The president takes responsibility not just for the words that come from his mouth, but also from the words that come from his ambassadors from his administration, from his embassies, from his State Department," he said. "They clearly sent mixed messages to the world and the statement that came from the administration and the embassy is the administration. The statement that came from the administration was -- was a statement which is akin to apology and I think was a -- a severe miscalculation." [Source]

Yes Mitt, way to go; attack the president and his Ambassadors.

Still, it would have been nice if you waited until after we buried them.

But if Romney is elected? Be nervous. A Republican president sure of his manhood had nothing to prove. Reagan was happy with a jolly little shoot-up in Grenada, and eventually he settled down to the serious work of arms control, consummating historic treaties with Mikhail Gorbachev. But a weenie Republican—look out. He has something to prove, needs to reassert that “natural” advantage. That spells trouble more often than not.

I think the POTUS exercisized extreme delicacy and finesse in his dealings with the Middle East.

His background and understanding of the culture surely are a big help.

These countries are still in the infancy of democracy, and are fighting for it to take hold.

A film like this sets everything back and thus this situation must be handled carefully, not in a gun ho way.

I think this Bacile film only gives the opponents of the new governments there a reason/justification to cause trouble.

I also find this entire thing a bit suspicious. Why the release of this inflammatory film now? and who the heck is this Bacile guy anyway?

    Yes. It is disgraceful.

But we should have expected it from this President:

Was Obama happy with throwing Mubarak to the Muslim Brotherhood? Did killing Ghadafi, a despot who had made peace with the US, renounced his nuclear weapons program, and ceased sponsoring terrorism, make him happy?

Maybe turning Syria over to Al Qaeda will do it.

Better yet, let's just fire this incompetent administration.

A pro-al Qaeda group responsible for a previous armed assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi is the chief suspect in Tuesday’s attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya, sources tracking militant Islamist groups in eastern Libya say.

They also note that the attack immediately followed a call from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri for revenge for the death in June of a senior Libyan member of the terror group Abu Yahya al-Libi.

The group suspected to be behind the assault — the Imprisoned Omar Abdul Rahman Brigades — first surfaced in May, when it claimed responsibility for an attack on the International Red Cross office in Benghazi. The following month the group claimed responsibility for detonating an explosive device outside the U.S. Consulate, and later released a video of that attack.

Noman Benotman, once a leading member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and now based at the Quilliam Foundation in London told CNN, “An attack like this would likely have required preparation. This would not seem to be merely a protest which escalated.”

“According to our sources, the attack was the work of roughly 20 militants, prepared for a military assault; it is rare that an RPG7 is present at a peaceful protest,” Benotman said.

Now we’re aware this was a planned, coordinated assault, so why didn’t the White House? Oh, because the current occupant ignores his intelligence briefings. Hey, those 18 holes aren’t going to play themselves.

Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three staff members at the US consulate in Benghazi were deliberately murdered Tuesday night Sept 11 just after memorial ceremonies were held in America for the victims of the 9/11 outrage. debkafile’s counter-terror sources report exclusively that far from being a spontaneous raid by angry Islamists, it was a professionally executed terrorist operation by a professional Al Qaeda assassination team, whose 20 members acted under the orders of their leader Ayman al Zawahri after special training. They were all Libyans, freed last year from prisons where they were serving sentences for terrorism passed during the late Muammar Qaddafi’s rule.

In a video tape released a few hours before the attack, Zawahri called on the faithful to take revenge on the United States for liquidating one of the organization’s top operatives, Libyan-born Abu Yahya al-Libi in June by a US drone in northwestern Pakistan.
Its release was the “go” signal for the hit team to attack the US diplomats in Benghazi.
To mask their mission, they stormed the consulate on the back of a violent protest by hundreds of Islamists against a film said to insult Prophet Muhammed produced by a Florida real estate agent called Sam Bacile, who has been described as of Israeli origin.

The operation is rated by terror experts as the most ambitious outrage al Qaeda has pulled off in the last decade. According to our sources, the gunmen split into two groups of 10 each and struck in two stages:

    1. They first fired rockets at the consulate building on the assumption that the ambassador’s bodyguards would grab him, race him out of the building and drive him to a safe place under the protection of the US secret service;
    2. The second group was able to identify the getaway vehicle and the ambassador’s armed escort and lay in wait to ambush them. The gunmen then closed in and killed the ambassador and his bodyguards at point blank range.
debkafile’s intelligence sources report that the investigation launched by US counter-terror and clandestine services is focusing on finding out why no clue was picked up of the coming attack by any intelligence body and how al Qaeda’s preparations for the attack which took place inside Libya went unnoticed by any surveillance authority.

    New York Times:

Russians Say Anti-U.S. Attack in Libya Vindicates Their Position

MOSCOW—Upon learning of the violent death of the United States ambassador to Libya on Wednesday, many Russians responded with variations on “I told you so.”

Russia has long argued that the West should not support popular uprisings against dictatorships in the Middle East lest Islamic fundamentalism take hold. Vladimir V. Putin, then serving as prime minister, was especially enraged last fall after an angry crowd killed his ally, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, an event he later condemned as a “repulsive, disgusting” scene.

Since then, Russia has blocked Western initiatives to force Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad, from power despite a bloody crackdown on the opposition. Russians’ responses to the storming of the American Consulate in Benghazi underlined the deep policy divide. A prime-time news report pointedly juxtaposed images of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens’s death with Colonel Qaddafi’s, pointing at their similarities, then cut to footage of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton reacting to the Libyan leader’s death with a cursory “wow.”

obama had no intention at all of ever doing anything in libya ever, for the next 1 million years. in fact he had a friendly meeting with gadaffi just a year earlier. then, out of the blue, the french decided, they wanted gaddafi out of there. and france and UK went in there first, then asked the US for assistance. hey, they said, we'll send in special forces, all you have to do is bomb and missile a weak opponent who can't hit back.

well, why not at that point? somebody else started the fight, might as well gang up on a weak enemy who can't fight back. then, despite it taking months longer than obama said it would, rebels finally killed one of the weakest dictators in the world, who had actually been, for the last 10 years, cooperative with the west and keeping libya together. oops!

and iraq is going well? i don't know what planet this guy is living on but iraq is in a civil war. the vice president has the death sentence. GW bush did the years and years of slogging necessary to subdue the active resistance - which obama was against. how can he get credit for something he was against the entire way?

GW bush negotiated the withdrawal from iraq. obama had nothing to do with it. obama actually tried to get out of the agreed upon withdrawal negotiated by bush, and was forced by the iraqis to stick to the previously agreed upon exit. the iraqis cheered when the americans "left". although the US is still there.

pakistan robbed the US blind for years and their penalty was...more billions in US aid.

bush also told obama to drone pakistan and to run olympic games on iran. obama didn't come up with any of this stuff on his own. well, he did come up with killing US citizens without a trial. and not declaring nidal hasan a terrorist. and not closing gitmo when he said he would. we have to give obama a little credit.

meanwhile, the obama adminstration is making the same mistake yet again in syria. the rebels are the bad guys. assad is the good guy. yet the americans are equipping and helping...the rebels.

I think part of the media hostility against Romney today, even more than normal, has to do with the fact that the specter of Jimmy Carter has been hanging over Obama this election cycle.

Republicans are constantly evoking him, salivating over the idea that this may be a re-run of 1980 and, lo and behold!, we are even delivered our own middle-east embassy crisis. Even more, the administration's response was Carter-like.

The media snapped out of fear.

"I doubt the Governor has first-hand knowledge of this but I will just come out and say it: I know people who belong to the East Bank Club here in Chicago. Some of these people are guys who have changed clothes with Obama while he was still working out there. The current President of the United States quite often wore dingy, stained tighty-whity briefs…and he has a minuscule penis. That urban legend you may have heard about black men doesn’t apply to the biracial, apparently. I’ve never seen it myself, and hope I never have to for any reason, but Megan Fox and I interviewed Larry Sinclair once on our radio show and we specifically asked Larry how big the “presidential penis” was and Larry reported it as being more of a scud than a patriot missile, if you get my drift. It would have been a Vienna sausage instead of an all-American ballpark footlong.

I would hazard a guess that President Obama has the smallest penis of anyone who’s ever occupied the White House. That includes any of the male children who lived there as infants. It is the only thing that can explain his constant apologizing and endless dithering and wimpiness.

No “big stick” does he carry, indeed.

During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times — or 43.8 percent of the time. The 10 Most Important Stories of the Embassy Attacks...

    1. Barack Obama skipped the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) the entire week leading up to 9/11:

Sure, why would anyone think there might be some violence on 9/11?" ...Additionally, the US was warned that extremists might attempt to burn down the embassy. On Monday.

    2. Obama skipped the PDBs even though intelligence sources report that the attacks were planned and coordinated.

Sources are telling CNN that the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens was planned by attackers who used the protest outside the consulate as a diversion.

    3. The first response to the coordinated attacks in Libya and Egypt by the Obama administration was... to apologize to the Islamists:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions...

Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

    4. . Shocked by the administration's statement, the Romney campaign blasted the apology.

The GOP nominee offered no regret for criticizing the president in the midst of an unfolding international crisis. "It's never too early to condemn attacks on Americans and to defend our values," Romney said... Romney condemned the violent protests and expressed condolences to the families of those slain in Libya, including the U.S. ambassador there. He said that instead of speaking out forcefully against the initial Egyptian breach, the U.S. Embassy in Cairo had seemed to sympathize with the attacks by issuing a statement that he called "akin to an apology."

5 . Liberal blogs -- and their primary consumers in vintage media -- needed a way to deflect criticism from President O'Carter. Their meme: Mitt Romney shouldn't criticize an apology... that the Obama administration itself later disavowed.

At 11:53pm last night Talking Points Memo released a statement from the Obama campaign condemning Mitt Romney for criticizing something the White House itself disavowed -- an appalling apology issued by the State Department.

Eight hours later, President Obama finally got around to condemning the monsters who attacked us on our own soil and killed our fellow citizens.

Yesterday, on the 11th anniversary of September 11, the Obama White House snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accepted an invitation from David Letterman, and apologized to Islamists upset over a film that mocks Islam and Mohammed -- something "artists" in America do to Christianity with my tax dollars on a fairly regular basis.

    6. An open microphone, in fact, revealed that vintage media coordinating a gang attack on Mitt Romney:

Before Romney issued his statement today, an open mic capture the press coordinating questions to ask Romney, with one saying “no matter who he calls on we’re covered on the one question”.

    7. In fact, the Obama administration condemned Mitt Romney's criticism before it bothered to condemn the Islamist attackers.

    8. Why in hell wasn't the Libyan Embassy protected by U.S. Marines?

A Marine Corps official who would not speak for the record told Danger Room that the Corps did not and currently does not have assets in Benghazi.

    9. As the U.S. embassy burns and our ambassador's body is dragged through streets, we discover that -- just as Obama skipped a week of daily intel briefings leading up to 9/11 -- he is now heading to Vegas for a fundraiser with Jay-Z and Beyonce:

    10. And the President found time to do the Letterman show and celebrity fundraisers, but could find no time to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister as the Middle East burns and Iran readies its nuclear-tipped missiles.

This president needs to be pink-slipped. He's Jimmy Carter squared.

According to the Lebanese news organization Tayyar.org, citing AFP news sources, U.S. ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens, who was killed by gunmen that stormed the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on Tuesday, was reportedly raped before being murdered. A google translation of the report says :

A news report made by the Libyan Free Press is also reporting that Ambassador Stevens was sodomized before he was killed:

So, let me get this straight:

It is September 11, 2012. An Al Qaeda sponsored mob is marching, running, screaming towards the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. Supposedly they are angry about an e-mail cartoon about the Islamic figure, Mohammed. It is known right away that the organizers of the march are the same entity that did the mass murder of Americans on 9.11.01.

The Embassy issues an apology for an American using his free speech rights about a matter of deep concern. They attempt to appease the mob. It doesn't work. The mobs acts violently and disrespectfully towards the U.S. Embassy. They are al Qaeda. This is what they do.

No comment or almost none from Mr. Obama.

Then an al Qaeda mob attacks the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya, burns it, kills the U.S. Ambassador and three other heroic American diplomats. Again, in a classic al Qaeda move, it is all timed perfectly to infuriate the USA. It isn't spontaneous. It was 9/11, for Pete's sake.

No comment from Mr. Obama except terse condolences.

Then along comes Governor Romney, who rightly says, "Hey, why are we appeasing an al Qaeda mob? Why aren't we calling these guys the vicious killers that they are? Why are we back in this apology to bad guys mode?"

Then, and only then, the Obama White House goes into hyper drive. It turns out that the real problem is not al Qaeda. No, and it's not Mr. Obama's appeasement. No, the real threat to America is (wait for it), Mitt Romney. Yes!!! According to White House uber-pal, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, Romney is working with the terrorists against the U.S. government by calling for criticism of the al Qaeda!

Yes, Romney is the enemy for pointing out that Mr. Obama is ass kissing the terrorists!

This is terrifying. The media line up to get their marching orders from the Obama Ministry of Truth and suddenly it's Gospel: the problem is not al Qaeda. It is Romney. With a "more in sorrow than in anger…" look and tone, Mr. Obama pities Romney's naïveté.

This is disgusting. It is nauseating. This is what happens when you have a one-party media. The lie becomes the truth. George Orwell saw it coming. In 1984, his MiniTrue had up its mission.

Who controls the present, controls the past.
Who controls the past controls the future.

It has happened. The MSM and the White House have outlawed truth. Some of us old ones can remember when it was legal and the media worked to keep it alive. Now, like the firemen in Fahrenheit 451, the MSM press exists to obliterate truth -- not to preserve it.

Meanwhile, Mr. Netanyahu begs the U.S. to do something to protect it and the world from the Iranian bomb. Mr. Obama bobs and weaves to avoid contact with reality and responsibility. No one even mentions that if we had allowed Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush to build ABM defense, the whole world would be a safer place, and we race towards war or an Islamic control of our expression or both, and the master politician gets ready for his turn on Letterman.

    God help us.

Here’s the latest in the headlines, though the media seems more focused on some bizarre film few have seen, which Intel officials have already said has little to do with the extremists now motivating anti-American protests world wide for their own political purposes.

Protests turn violent outside U.S. Embassies in Egypt, Yemen following deadly attack in Libya

Via Reuters, in a report mentioning protests, or problems in Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan: Anti-US protests across Muslim world; embassies attacked

More from Cairo: Demonstrators threw rocks and Molotov cocktails as police tried to disperse them by firing tear gas canisters from police vehicles as they drove through Tahrir Square, near the embassy. At least 13 protesters and six police officers were injured, Egyptian government officials said Thursday.

At least one killed … in Yemen: Yemeni security forces fired into the air as demonstrators reached the embassy’s grounds, according to The Associated Press and Reuters. The New York Times reported that protesters managed to set fire to a building inside the compound but were forced by security forces to pull back after trying to take furniture and computers.

In other news, Barack Obama was said to be disappointed when he arrived in Las Vegas to campaign. He didn’t know the Aladdin Hotel & Casino was closed and had hoped to rub a magic lamp there to make all of the above go away – or at least that small portion of it the media hasn’t managed to kill. He’s now off campaigning in Colorado.

Once upon a time, when a country had an Embassy in a foreign country, that poperty was considered as being a Sovereign piece of said country. Any attack on it was considered a direct attack on the homeland of said country, and grounds for an immediate Declaration Of War.
Now, we apologize to coutries for invading our Embassies, and raping & killing our diplomatc personnel stationed there

We should blow Benghazi off the face of the map. (Or, all their oil production facilities....let the bastards pay for the food they have to import with sand.) I'll bet you those attacks on our other Embassies would slack-off pretty damned quick.

We have a big big problem in the Middle East against an enemy unafraid to die. In fact, they look forward to it. We are dealing with a mind similar to the Vietnamese. Will we ever learn?

It has nothing to do with a stupid film hardly anyone heard of. It is the Muslim plan to bring about the Caliphate. You don't appease fanatics who live to see you die, because Mohammed told them so.

The attacks were coordinated with the Muslim Broterhood and Obamas Pal the Egyptian president.

More proof the September 11th terror attacks on US embassies in Libya and Cairo were coordinated between the two sharia governments Obama worked to install.

Video from Libya: ‘Don’t Shoot us! We were sent by Mursi’

There have been questions raised about whether the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya was done in conjunction with the attacks on the Embassy in Cairo. This video brings us closer to answering that question. In fact, it not only points to the same attackers but possibly to Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi himself.

Fast forward to the 1:15 mark in this video (if you don’t understand Arabic). Watch as the raw footage of a firefight in Benghazi is taking place. The news report loops the relevant portion of an exchange between gunmen, in which one can be heard, saying, ‘Don’t Shoot us! We were sent by Mursi’!

Obviously, that would mean at least two separate groups of gunmen in Libya are loyal to the President of Egypt.

Sometimes the wishes of these "divided States" can have detrimental outcomes than expected. If there can be an "Arab Spring;" there can be an US one as well.

Qaddafi once pointed at that the elements fighting him out of Bengazi were Islamist militants that once fought the American in Afganistan. He called them terrorists. These were the same folks that the US armed and now the "freedom fighters" might be turning against their American masters.

Laughable analysis, even for you Whitey.

Liberal wishes aside, the American public's take on this crisis will not be about Romney's entirely appropriate comments about Obama's initial response, but rather on the implosion of Obama's Middle East strategy and the weakness he displays in times of crisis.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, when last at the White House and during an extended period of private conversation with “Obama”, implored the president to be far more forceful in his public comments regarding the United States’ devotion to Israel’s safety and protection and its very right to exist. Netanyahu warned the president that his administration’s half-hearted gestures of friendship to Israel were in fact emboldening the more radicalized elements in the Middle East and thus endangering not only Israeli lives, but the lives of everyone in that part of the world. And then he also remarked this condition would further endanger American citizens within the United States as well, that the capitulation policies of the American government in the 1990s were instrumental in forming the attack of September 11th, 2001.

Obama’s reaction to these words were, “agitation followed by derision”. The president then leaned toward the Prime Minister and said:

“You have just as much blood on your hands as they do. They got a right to exist as well. Everybody does. And I don’t want this thing…this back and forth…you and them…I don’t want this turning into an election issue for me, right? I can’t be telling those people how to treat your country any more than you want me telling you how to treat them, right? You see where I’m at in this?

Don’t you turn this into something that might take away Jewish votes for me. That’s what you got going here – I know what you’re up to. Don’t do it. This thing…Iran…don’t try…don’t hurt me politically with it. You need us. We don’t need you.”

Now I must put that statement by Obama further into context to ensure you realize the stunning implications of what he was communicating to the Israeli Prime Minister. Netanyahu had spent considerable effort attempting to detail to the Obama what Israeli intelligence had gathered regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities. He had also warned of the very real and serious threat of nuclear materials being handed over to terrorists both capable and willing of detonation in other parts of the world, including inside the United States. The Prime Minister indicated his own government was unwilling to take that risk, and was preparing to take very specific measures to try and ensure Iran was not given that option to do so. And to that Obama, this man so tragically elected president, to that he replied to Netanyahu to not make this an election issue for him? To not make it something that might take away Jewish votes from him?

    ReplyDelete

Imagine you are sitting in a room with a man who oversees the most powerful military in the world. The most powerful military in the history of humankind. And you are communicating earnestly, based upon knowledge you have from your own considerable intelligence sources, that not only is the Middle East in danger, but citizens living inside the United States as well, and these concerns are met with a self-serving plea not to harm an election. To in essence, simply shut up about it so as to not influence voters? How horrifying that must have been for a man so honorable as Benjamin Netanyahu. How frightening to know that the government of the United States was now being represented by the likes of “Obama” and Iranian-born Valerie Jarrett, two creatures so detached from the rich and proud history of the United States, who view that history with disdain and a desire to punish.

That is not simple ignorance friend. What that is, so willfully exhibited by this man calling himself Obama, what that is, is outright evil. Look now on what Obama, as you describe, has built in the Middle East. American embassies being overtaken. Ambassadors and citizens murdered. Their bodies dragged through the streets. And what does the Obama administration do during all of this but apologize and promise billions more to the very people who are committing these atrocities against us. What of the fact that during their own recent political convention, these Democrats stood below a massive photo depicting Russian naval vessels? The Russian military! The very same Russian government Obama promised to be more accommodating to “after the election”. Or their purposely removing God from their own platform, and the public denunciation of Israel that occurred by over half of the delegates on their own convention floor?

Christopher Stevens has now become the quintessential symbol of what U.S. foreign policy is doing vis-a-vis the global jihad, and of what ultimately will be the outcome for the U.S. if this continues. His story also demonstrates yet again how the establishment Left creates monsters that then devour their creators — as well as numerous bystanders.

Carter would not and did not understand that there was no winning over a man like Khomeini, for the Ayatollah’s core beliefs included a hatred and contempt for non-Muslims simply because they were non-Muslims. No adjustment of their public policies would mitigate that hatred and contempt, or the warfare and subjugation that followed from them.

Christopher Stevens, and those for whom he worked, have long made the same mistake, assuming that hearts and minds initiatives and gestures of good will toward the Islamic world will eventually pay off in reciprocal action. What happened to Stevens instead, however, is more indicative of how they actually pay off.

Christopher Stevens, after aiding the Libyan jihadists, ended up being tortured and murdered by them. And with this murder the Obama administration’s folly in aiding the “Arab Spring” uprisings is laid bare. Just as Stevens rushed to Libya to aid the forces that ended up murdering him, so also the U.S. rushed to aid rebels in Egypt and Syria, as well as Libya, thereby installing regimes that are proving to be much, much more anti-American than those they supplanted. The monster unleashed in the Arab Spring has already begun to devour its chief benefactor.

No, what is scary is that some of the least of us just know they are the brightest and go about daily life having not the slightest clue or ability to understand cause and effect.

"The importance of the Khomeini revolution is that it demonstrated the viability of the Islamic theocracy in the modern age. And to this day post-Khomeini Iran provides a viable model of what the Islamic radicals hope to achieve throughout the Muslim world.

Khomeini also popularized the idea of America as a “great Satan.” Before Khomeini, no Muslim head of state had said this about America. Khomeini was also the first Muslim leader in the modern era to advocate violence as a religious duty and to give special place to martyrdom. Since Khomeini, Islamic radicalism has continued to attract aspiring martyrs ready to confront the Great Satan. In this sense, the seeds of 9/11 were sown a quarter of a century ago when Khomeini came to power.

Helping to sow those seeds were the greatest enablers of radical Muslims, Western liberals.

Khomeini’s ascent to power was aided by the policies of Jimmy Carter and his allies on the political left. … From the time he took office, the left contrasted Carter’s rights doctrine with the Shah’s practices. The left denounced the Shah as a vicious and corrupt dictator, highlighting and in some cases magnifying his misdeeds. Left-leaning officials such as Secretary of State Cyrus Vance, UN envoy Andrew Young, and State Department human rights officer Patricia Derian pressed Carter to sever America’s longstanding alliance with the Shah. Eventually Carter came to agree with his liberal advisers that he could not in good conscience support the Shah.

They don’t call them useful idiots for nothing:

William Miller, chief of staff on the Democrat-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee, said America had nothing to fear from Khomeini since he would be a progressive force for human rights. U.S. Ambassador William Sullivan even compared Khomeini to Mahatma Gandhi, and Andrew Young termed the ayatollah a “twentieth century saint.”

    As D’Souza accurately observes,

The Carter administration’s role in assisting with the downfall of the Shah is one of America’s great foreign policy disasters of the twentieth century.

What did liberals learn from this painful lesson? If we assume for the sake of argument that Obama isn’t actively working against American interests on purpose, the answer is absolutely nothing:

Carter tried accommodating America’s enemies. He cut back on defense. He made humility the hallmark of American diplomacy. Sound familiar?

Again, too bad Obama is plagiarizing Carters doctrine.

They want freedom of religion and the right to worship whom they please here in America, but want to dictate to other countries and obstruct that same right.

The rightwing loves to point fingers at how the Muslims treat their women, but the rightwing abuse our women and seniors over here in America. Russ the drug addict who is the face of the Republican party calls young women ho's over the airwaves. The Republicans want to control a woman's reproductive rights and dictate to them. They want to take voting rights of our citizens and take it back to when only the white elite could vote, but with a fork tongue claim they're bringing freedom of democracy to other countries. They have and show blatant outright disrespect and lack of concern or care for senior citizens. They are gender and ethnic bias. The only thing that they aren't doing is stoning women and citizens, yet.

In essence, the rightwingers do not know how to get along with common ordinary citizens. They have no tolerance for their own fellow citizens in the USA or around the world, unless they're RICH and angry Republicans with nasty, vile, bullying attitudes and a tendency to hallucinate and make up lies in behalf of their political agenda.

Reminds of the wolf and the three bears. The Republican Party blew the first house down by starting a war in the wrong county, which was Iraq, the second house the wolf blew down was our economny. However, when he got the third house, which is starting unnecessary mess with Muslims by insulting their religion, well, he ran into it turned out brick wall, and this particular brick they've ran smack dab into because it has releases a deadly hornets nest. They had no thought or concern about the Americans over in those countries whose lives would be at risk. Yet, they claim to be so patriotic. Yeah right!

Always trying to preach to other countries, while claiming self-righteousness. Yet our own history is full of cruel brutality, murder, gender and ethnic bias and discrimination; genocide.

But I don't expect them to comprehend because they are immune to the truth and would rather wallow in self-deception, lies and more lies.

Sorry, but I am exhausted. Let me correct this part and I'm signing off and going back to bed.

*the warmongers ran into what turned out to be a brick wall and that particular brick wall has released a deadly hornets nest. There was no thought or concern regarding the safety of the Americans or our soldiers over in those countries whose lives would be at risk. None at all, only a political agenda before people.*
